Very busy sunday. a long queue but well orginazed..food was much nicer than our local toby in bridgend

Cold and terrible, ain't been in years and hasn't improved since.

I went to this restaurant to pick up the order after 10 mints someone checked my order then, she told me five minutes and I waited for 40mints I still didn’t get the order. If order taking time they should inform the us early rather than not wasting someone time. Customer were complaining as well about lateness of order.

Amazing food and atmosphere in Toby Carvery today. The food was fresh and delicious and a bargain for that price. I will definitely be returning!!

Ordered from here as my friend said it was good. Well, it was awful. The meat is pure fat with a terrible texture and honestly inedible. It also arrived cold. The meat is clearly left overs. Even my dog wouldn't eat it. Really disappointed.

Friday lunch for four friends was most enjoyable, food good as usual, staff helpful and friendly, Della in particular - we all had a very good time. Will book again soon.

Went in for Carvery which was fine but the deserts where a bit hit an miss. The lemon cake was a plain cake with a lemon drizzle and the other sponge was just as bad. I had the Sunday which was fine. The waitress was excellent and that compliment from my wife is hard to get.

Good quantity of food, but be prepared to wait during busy times.

Had a lovely dinner with the wife yesterday, service was excellent. Stan on the meats who was friendly and our lady server who's name sadly escapes me. Will visit again.

We attended here on Friday 29/3 just to take my mam out for some food for her 70th birthday, the staff were amazing went above and beyond with each and everyone of the party, nothing was too much for them, even Stan on the carvery was happy to give my 8 year old the biggest Yorkshire pudding ever when she asked haha, honestly can't fault the service of the staff on this evening, my mother who doesn't leave the house only to visit my brother in llandock thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you all so much for making her night that little bit extra with your kindness

Unfortunately the food wasn’t up to standard however the service was amazing, our server Bronwen went above and beyond to give us great customer service, discounted our bill and treated us with kindness and understanding. Thankyou Bronwen 🫶🏼

Don’t listen to Cameron Boasts review it is sheer nonsense, i witnessed him consume 4 plates of the all you can eat breakfast then had a family size trifle(he was not with a family), he’s got more chins than a Chinese phone book.

Poor selection! Waited over half an hour and still no Yorkshire puddings came out. Had to settle for a breakfast without. No choice of bread, only end bits left and nobody bothered to re-stock with an hour of breakfast left. Really disappointed.

Staff have been very negligent on multiple on multiple occasions as they are too busy chatting amongst each other and ignoring the customers, need to have reshuffling of staff as this is not cutting it

I wasn't impressed with the food tbh. The waitress was a lovely young lady, very polite and helpful. The whole place is shabby, The whole restaurant needs a full renovation, especially the ladies toilets. They weren't very nice at all. Staff work hard but the food and the environment is poor. It has come to light that one of the diners has been charged at £60 parking fine. At no point did a member of Toby staff mention this to any of the diners either on arrival or when ordering. This small, but important point, could have been easily explained resulting in our friend saving a lot of money and upset.

Perfectly adequate place for basic food. You'll be happy if you're not a snob or fussy.

Good value for money. I had the vegetarian plate and there were plenty of vegetable choices to go me up. Roast potatoes were fabulous. Dog friendly bar area so that was useful.

Went here for a change as we usually go to bridgend toby carvery, but misses was not very happy as they didnt do potato gratin, also on this occasion all the vegetables were hard not cooked enough so not a very good experience. Also the staff wasnt all that happy or even welcoming.

Went on a Sunday so food nice and fresh. Catered well for allergies. Served food straight from kitchen to avoid cross contamination. Served some veg plain without cheese etc to make it dairy and gluten free. Enjoyed meal and would go back. Good choice of drinks. Vegetarian gravy was dairy and gluten free. 👍

The seven of us had a great meal and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Bronwen and Belle were wonderful waitresses and went the extra mile to ensure all the needs of our party were met. Our raffle ticket was 423.

Best dinner I’ve had at a toby carvery! All the meats were available and they have a bearded tag team (who I’m convinced are rugby players) serving the meats in a timely manner, with a smile on their faces. All the sides of mash, roasts and veg are available and being replaced very often by efficient kitchen staff. Bar staff are friendly and make an effort to a knowledge you if you are waiting, while they serve other customers. Shame I don’t live near this toby carvery as I’d come a lot more often. The one by where I live is not as good. Dinner tasted great!

I gave the 2 stars for the staff, as they were lovely but seemed completely overwhelmed. We got there 10 mins late, and they were very understanding. However we ordered and then saw the queue for the food. To say it was like a new attraction in Legoland is an understatement. After 10 minutes in the queue and moving about 50cm, we gave up, at that rate it would have taken over 40 minutes to get to the goods. We left without food or drinks. Probably go back on a weekday.

We had a vegetarian with us who ordered her food was told 10 minutes so would be good for the remainder of party of 10 to get food. Sadly we had all finished our meal before her food came

Me and my partner came for food yesterday evening. We were served by Charley who couldn’t be more helpful to us. Nothing was too much of an ask. Perfect example of good customer service. Will definitely be coming back

Called here for Sunday dinner early evening. It was very busy , but so well managed ! Food and service were excellent. Particularly, Tom who served us at the bar , brilliant service and so friendly! Probably the best Toby we’ve visited!

Visited the carvery again this evening to take advantage of their £6 promotion, food was really nice and excellent value . We were served by a super young woman called Belle , she was first class ! Will be back very soon .

I used to come around to this toby monthly and it was never 5 stars but it was a decent 4' now i can only rate one star The service has declined a lot in the last 6 months particually the last 2 months' the staff that has been there for years seem to do a great job particually the FOH' although the kichen boys look misserable alongside majority of the new staff' seem to be chaos when they have a peak i believe managment is lacking here' after a few saftey issues which i will be reporting directly to Mitchells & Butlers because ive seen it happen to many times' hoping the audit will notice it at some point' simply wont be visting here again i could ignore the common cold food dry potatoes and sitcky gravy alongside the lack of condiments at times' oh also the runned down mint sauce i mean grab a spoonfull and enjoy your vinegar with a hint of mint🫡' I mean no disrespect to the hard workers and the ones that really shine' its a shame because i been going to this establishment for years 😪. Hopefully Mitchells & Butlers can get a hold on whatever is going on at this store now.

Visited on 7pm 3rd March 2024 A True experience of a visit to this establishment (Chef you know who you are)(hope you read this) Having booked a table for 7pm and arrived at 7 we were shown to a table very promptly. Ordered a carvery and drinks which arrived pretty quickly by very polite staff. We then went over to the carvery my wife started to chat to a couple of ladies so I let them go before me but to my horror the chef started belittling my wife yes she had gone halfway past the meat (chatting) but to shout out have you never had pork before and you obviously do not know what pork looks like was astounding the ladies were gobsmacked and the comments clearly upset my wife. But no one said anything to the chef but clearly myself and the ladies husbands wanted to react to his comments but my wife calmed us down and told us all not to complain. Anyway let us go on too the food were given paper half slices of fatty pork and very fatty beef, and not forgetting the uncooked Yorkshire pusdding The veg well what can I say some examples are Roast potatoes only 3 pieces, Roast potatoes in fat 3 pieces. Garden peas half full tray,Cauliflwer cheese 3 spoonfuls,Carrots 1-2 spoonfulls, mashed potatoes full (as they were solid) saute potatoes 1 spoonful as you can see it diid not even cover my plate sorry forgot to mention the watery thin gravy. Most staff were vey nice some veg tasty some was like eating carboard but ok if you like to be on rations This experience has totally put us going to anymore Toby Carvery's

One of the best carveries around, certainly the best toby carvery. Never had a bad meal here. Always plenty of choice too. It can get very busy, especially on Sundays but that just shows how good the food is.

Booked a Table online Seated by one of your staff brillant We got up and made our way to the carvery there were a couple of ladies my wife had started to chat too so I let them go before me. My wife asked the chef for pork but she was standing by the beef and talking to these ladies that is when I heard the chef in his very loud tone belittiling my wife by saying things like Have you never seen pork before do you know what your eating etc I was disgusted but as I know my wife will not complain and would not like me to complain we left it like that Shame though as the foiod Food was nice and the rest of staff were brill all I can say is Sorry but this has put us off ever going back to a Toby Carvery

Very busy as Mother's day but the service, staff and food was spot on especially with how busy it was. Couldn't fault the food. Plenty of choice and it was delicious.

Saturday visit (ticket no 254) Della our waitress was very friendly. Made our dining experience smooth with good menu suggestions for my wife. Overall really happy with the visit and service.

Was disappointed this time four lots of potatoes but very poor selection of veg

Well what can I say complete mess the staff need to be retrained as their lacking basic service skills; how hard is it to monitor condiments; roast dinners must people like mint sauce but they fail to notice its running out; your left standing there wait for staff to notice the chef's busy cutting meat while your meal goes cold, they also failed to put a knife and folk on the table again they take the order but yet again failed to notice that its missing from the table then to top it off the just drop it in a heap; its no customer care whatsoever there more focused on takeout and despatch, a very unhappy customer. So today 9 March next day staying in the travellodge Decided to have breakfast maybe be better Nope just as bad yet again staff fail to monitor a simple condiments brown sauce run out asked the chef: reply ok comes back with fried eggs ok he went back still waiting chef returns again I ask him, Chef he replies as he walks past me im doing something rudely walks past me in the meantime my breakfast going cold went to the bar there's 3 staff stood there Happy chatting away again I asked for brown sauce yet again im stood there so I put the breakfast on the counter and start again with another breakfast then if by magic 3 chefs appear unbelievable so then try to make tea no milk looking down at the bar the same lady just stood there talking and haven't move from that spot, so toby carvery when you decide to reply you need a wake-up call, how bad your service really is please don't blame the lack of staff take a good look how you treat your staff as their not very happy.....

Had a fantastic carvery. Food was great and value for money. We had superb service all night from our waitress Mali who was always on hand to take our orders and ensure our family birthday meal ran smoothly.

Staff were happy to help and change the table seating for us, being considerate to the fact that we had children with us. Hannah and Charli went above and beyond to help, ensuring we had everything that we needed.

I went here for my bday last night they had a lot of meat but a small amount of veg to pick from (was not enough veg in the bowls there for people queuing for they carvery) couldn’t eat more the 4 bit of my meal (witch was not a full plate of food due to not being a enough food at the carvery) to the point were my partner ask the waiter (our waiter was very nice to us) if they could ask the manager for a discount cos I did eat my food, they ask the could charge me for a vegetarian meal instead witch only took a £1 off the price. Very disappointed food was not worth the price and not enjoyable really did ruin my bday

Service was not the best we were not made to feel particularly welcome and had to walk around to ask for assistance. I understand it was a weekend late evening but there were still several members of staff about. When we did manage to find out where to get the food as some places you pay and take the receipt up to get food. The food was cold and looked like leftovers there was no gravy and when my partner asked for veggie gravy and waiting almost five minutes was told the normal gravy was vegetarian by a kitchen staff member. Once sat to start the food after being told when we entered someone would be there to take the drinks order. After eating half my food I went to find someone for drinks as no one had been. I ordered two refills and took the staff member another five minutes to get the glasses. It was not that busy so had almost finished the food before I got a drink. This was supposed to be a treat/ celebration for myself and partner. So was very disappointed. I think the member of staff who we paid the bill to knew we were unhappy as they did not even ask was everything ok with your food. Very disappointed so will not be returning.

Enjoyed a delicious tasty roast last night - just what was needed! A really relaxing experience thanks to our super helpful server Mali. It was our first time trying Toby Carvery and would certainly go again.

we had a delicious carvery here on a Tuesday evening. Unlike a Sunday when it is frantic, there was a pleasant atmosphere. No queueing, quiet and plenty of meat and hot vegetables. Tuesday may become the new Sunday in our house.

I would like to thank Della @ staff for making my mums 88th birthday one to remember… We come here most weeks as my mum 88yrs old with dementia loves it here. There’s usually 5-8 of us. The food is always lovely but the staff make it.. Today they went beyond that extra mile. Mum was totally overwhelmed. She loved everything from start to finish Thank you all again (Della your a star) Xx

Some of the veg was cold, lack of staff at the carvery and bar, had to wait far too long to be served, quicker to cook a Sunday roast at home.

First time visiting thought we would stop for the breakfast, paid before we sat down. No service required as it was help yourself, plates very filthy obviously not washed properly, food marks still on them. Food constantly running low therefore had to wait for them to be replemished. Deco is very outdated, worn and filthy, cobwebs on lamps, chipped and grubby woodwork. Stained and torn furniture. Place needs gutting, but first get a damn cleaner!

Food is always good here, just the service always lets them down , waited 20 minutes after being seated to take drinks and food orders , restaurant was relatively quiet aswell on a Tuesday night

Service average, ordered pint of coke with food got small bottle whilst I was being served food, tried to find waitress to rectify but nobody around! no mint sauce, better standard at Rhoose.

Excellent service. We had relatives over from Ireland and Toby Carvery Whitchurch provided a private room for the 25 relatives and were very flexible in meeting our requests. Trish laid out the room as required. Charley and Becka (?) were really helpful serving the drinks...

Table booked for 2pm on Sunday the 11th Feb 24. Arrived at 01:55 pm and had to qué out the front door to get in. Got to the arrivals desk at 02:10 pm then told to wait by the bar area for a table to become free. Got a table at 02:25 pm and noticed the qué to collect food had around 50 people in the qué which would take another 20 / 30 min to get through. By this time my wife myself and my two children had had enough. We cancelled the table and left. Then proceeded to a Brewers fayre where we had a table straight away and the qué for the carvery had 3 people in it. Very disappointed with Tobey carvery and had a much swifter service with a different restaurant chain. Would not recommend to anyone who would like to attend on a Sunday.

Ok but not as clean as Cardiff Gate..

A good hot meal served by Della. car parking was easy for a disabled person as was the access once inside the premises. Just a little noisy, but as we are both elderly, a quiet restaurant is difficult to find.
