Tintos Tapas in South Lanarkshire

Service was terrible. Over 1jr to get starters then one forgotten. Tapas serves to party at different times. One member waited over 1hr 30mins for meal. We asked to cancel and leave £66 for tapas and 2 drinks and food that was not great. Have been several times before and never had this standard off food or service. Dreadful.

Food is amazing.. service is excellent. Great choice. Can't find fault apart from toilets not the best , only one upstairs......... i love this restaurant though, food is top drawer. You won't be disappointed . 👍👍👍

Here on business with a colleague and we’re recommended this for dinner. Has it was a Tuesday majority of tapas dishes were only £2.50 each. Although they were busy and we hadn’t booked they found us a table and promised food would be delivered quickly as table was needed. Well they did not disappoint food arrived promptly and was delicious, and a bargain due to the deal. Service was also exceptional. Would revisit and recommend but advisable to book. Churros which we had to take away were worth a mention, define and chocolate sauce was amazing.

Had booked movie Oppenheimer in East Kilbride for 8pm. Booked a table for 4 for 6.15pm. We arrived a bit earlier at around 6.05pm. This was my first experience of Tapas anywhere. Ordered food and took the advice of some of the others. By 7.05pm our soft drinks were drunk and we still hadn't received our order. It's not as though the place was particularly busy. I complained to who I assumed was the owner and was given an apology. Soon after that, the food arrived. My friend and I had ordered what I think was sea bass - if he got the daddy sea bass, then I got the baby. Not the best start. We got 2 free battered chicken goujon-type items for free, presumably to make up for the late service. My companions felt that the Uddingston branch was far better, and said some items were over-cooked. I wouldn't know, never having been before. As I said, this was my first experience of Tapas. I have a feeling it will be my last. We made it in time for the movie. Just.

I wish to preface this review by stating that I currently work in the hospitality industry and have done so for many years - due to this I am sympathetic to servers as I understand precisely how challenging this industry is - particularly if there is short-staffing or other challenging circumstances. I do acknowledge as well that there was only one server and this does create understandable delays and set-backs with service. With this being acknowledged I witnessed poor task prioritisation tonight by the server and this led to a glass and spillage hazard beside two tables (one of which had a young child) being blatantly ignored. A child had accidentally dropped a glass filled with liquid on the way to the toilet and the server immediately seen that this happened. At this point, and I say this as someone with experience, tasks such as making cocktails, cleaning vacant tables and singing happy birthday to a customer are NOT a priority. The main priority is safely and effectively cleaning up the spillage and removing the glass debris in a timely manner. The father of the child had to go down on his knees to pick up the glass and could have easily injured himself and even after saying to the server about the spillage the spillage was not prioritised - in fact the glass was still broken sitting on the table where the father had placed it even by the time the family had went up to the counter to pay and leave. I cannot emphasis enough how irresponsible it was of the server to not prioritise the safety of customers. I am all for giving hospitality workers the benefit of the doubt it is a difficult industry and it can be challenging to manage various competing priorities at once - but this blatant ignorance to hazard safety is dangerous and problematic and should be addressed. With all respect, please take this matter seriously and learn from it. Food safety and customers safety is of the upmost importance. Also, food was really late and not very warm so that added to the whole bad experience. In addition food was delivered by the chef who seemed confused and struggled to find the tables - he also seemed frustrated at the server. Honestly, it has put me off going back.

The food was mediocre at best and there was no soap in the ladies toilets, which we were told would be sorted but wasn’t. There are many other restaurants in the area with a much higher standard of food. I won’t waste my money here again. On a positive note the staff were very friendly.

Absolutely the best restaurant in The Village. We love visiting Tinto any time we can. It's perfect for family, friends, a date or just a, "lets not cook" night. I've been through most of the dishes at this point and they are all excellent. I've never been even slightly disappointed with an evening here. Service is attentive without being intrusive or pushy and the prices are very reasonable. Recommended

Looking for local restaurants me and my sister walked past Tinto Tapas, located in the village. From the moment of arriving we were quickly and politely attended to by Josh, who was more than helpful and courteous. The food choices were mostly fish based and they were absolutely incredible. It was a more than enjoyable experience of different flavours and vibrant atmosphere. We went during a quiet period but I'm sure this restaurant gets very busy when the food is this good

We visited Tinto's EK 3rd Feb. Unfortunately I booked the wrong date. Josh helped us immediately sort it out, he was exceptionally professional, kind, and understanding as to my reasoning behind my mistake. He organised a table, service was 5 star and food was lovely! Thank you Josh, we appreciated everything you done this evening, as often a family meal is so much more than food. You went over and above. Highly recommended!!

Visited with my partner and her cousin on day 1 of our holiday and tried loads of different tapas and some wine! Very impressed with the variety, flavour combinations and staff! Highly recommend for anyone visiting East Kilbride

Advice to anyone thinking about use the takeaway option: Don't. Very disappointed. During the pandemic we once ordered a take away service from this restaurant and it was amazing, fantastic value, great portion size. The change now is drastic. The tapas portions are tiny, and I know tapas are not a full meal but three or four should add up to enough for dinner for one person, no? Not these tapas. I've eaten at Tintos before so I know what the portion size should be. E.g Langosintos: £5.50 - there were four prawns in the dish. Not huge ones (I've attached a photo) Pan Pedro explicity says on the menu it is 2 slices of bread and we only got one (One slice of bread for £3.50) Ordered this as a gift for my parents 19th Wedding anniversary so we could all have a meal at home together (they have a little kid) and my Dad has had to go and get a takeaway from another place because we don't have enough food for us all! Very, very disappointed!! Will not be ordering from you again.

We visited this restaurant on a Tuesday night, unbeknownst to us this was their promotion night where all tapas from the al a carte menu are £2.50. Good deal we thought. When we arrived it was busy but the going waiter found us a table. We asked the waiter how many tapas would be enough and he suggested four per person as the portion sizes are smaller on a Tuesday night. He wasn't kidding. Whilst we waited close to 30 minutes for our order I noticed the couple next to us complaining that they didn't get tyke mixed bread tapas that they had ordered. The waiter's response was 'you should have got that'. No apology. When our order finally arrived we were extremely disappointed. Two meatball in a sauce which tasted like it was blended tinned tomatoes. No flavour. The gaspstcho had clearly been watered down to the point where there was no flavour at all. My partner has bread with a few crushed cherry tomatoes and a couple of bits of cheese. And my mixed bread didn't come. When I went to pay for my meal I found I had been charged for the bread and when I pointed this out to the young waiter (clearly very inexperienced) he told his colleague who's response was 'well I didn't take your order'. I tried to keep my cool and spoke to the manager who was apologetic but made excuses about how busy they were. And he was right. Three young boys serving about 60 customers was clearly pushing them beyond their limits. There is no point in having so called promotional nights when you serve substandard tiny portions and can't cope with a full restaurant. I won't be returning and I strongly advise that you don't either.

Having been in other Tinto Tapas before I'm pleased to report that the East Kilbride branch maintains the same high standards. Pop along on a Tuesday when it's £2.50 for a vast selection of small plates, making an already good value offering exceptional.

Full of young neds fighting and shouting and swearing about football when I was trying to have a quiet drink with wife, one even stole our bottle of table wine and started drinking it out the bottle. Disgusted. Won't be back

Went in today to see a irish rebel band playing in the restaurant. Totally shocking and disgusting. Will never go near this hole again and would advise the same to any decent citizen

Apologies first off; tapas bars in the UK are not like Spanish tapas bars where you can walk from place to place, graze and enjoy the different locations. There has clearly been some effort to get a Spanish feel with the decorations and I should not complain about the use of local waiting staff. The choice of dishes is expansive- maybe that is the problem? On a tapas tour you can go from one specialist to the next; it is a hard task to be really good over such a wide spread of dishes. I think that they were genuinely trying, but it left me feeling spainsick needing my next fix of the real deal-only a month to go!

Went with a friend on Tuesday as it’s cheaper and firstly the staff are great. Lovely servers. Food arrived real quick but Gambas pil pil ( prawns in oil.) bland. Chicken crockets weren’t nice all. No taste of chicken and inside was like rubber. My friends chicken was really dry. Other dishes ok. I did expect them to take off the price of the crockets but they didn’t. We did tip but mostly for service.

Had dinner here with 2 coworkers, all of us from US. We ordered 9 different tapas and each was fantastic. Staff was very accommodating and made some excellent recommendations. I liked it so much I went back the next night for dinner. The seafood paella was excellent!!

Went for a family meal mid week (3 adults, 1 child). We had a large corner table so lots of space for all of our dishes. The adults ordered 3 tapas items each and were full by the end. The food was great! I have special dietary requirements and they catered for these without any issue, even replacing an item when i noticed something i was unable to eat. My favourite was the salt cod, it was excellent and we all enjoyed every item! My daughter (aged 4) loved her garlic bread, meatballs and patatas bravas as well as ice cream for desert. The meal was really well priced, even including a few drinks and coffees - will be back very soon!

It had been a while since we'd been to Tinto Tapas. We booked on a 5pm deal, 3 tapas and a small glass of wine or sangria. The only downside with this particularly deal is it only available up to 16:45 on a Saturday but that suited us fine. We had a lovely meal and will be back.

Enjoyed a fab day at this little restaurant/pub located with the village. The food was outstanding, first class. The staff are very welcoming and cheerful, eager to please and help. Beer garden is small but adequate. Live entertainment at weekends which was brilliant. Most certainly will be back

Visited here on 20 April. Ordered 16 different tapas and each was cooked brilliantly. Amazing choice and brilliant value for money. £54 for four of us. Very enjoyable

Visited here wednesday 28 march with my partner after waiting 30 mins or so our food arrived what can i say it was awful

Was out only for drinks on Saturday 3rd March around 11.00pm I approached the bar where 3 young male bar staff were behind bar. No one asked what I wanted for drinks as they were all chatting to each other. A young beautiful female approached left side of bar and one barman attended to her order, the other 2 still did not ask what I wanted and nobody else was waiting. I just couldn’t believe my eyes and just walked away, I then turned around and addressed both young male barmen and told them that was terrible that they done that to paying customers. They both looked and laughed at me and told me “GOODBYE”. I work in the hospitality trade and if any of my staff treated customers like that they would be out on their ears. How rude!!! Born and bred in East Kilbride and 52yrs old but obviously not 19 anymore so therefore not good enough to be served by those young ignorant boys the were working in Bar Tinto. They are not fit to work with the public as nobody deserves to be treated like that especially paying customers

Restaurant upstairs was decorated well. The place had a good feel about it and the food was really good. The toilets were another story, really shabby, hard getting toilet paper out the dispenser and the hand drier wasn’t working.
