Visited Time & Plaice for a refreshing drink on a hot day. The milkshakes are the best in town. Excellent customer service from Lauren and the team. Will be back soon.

Ordered food took two hours to come tang store over 175 times and no answer when they did answer was told food be on way and it wasn’t then it arrived stone cold absolute awful always ordered despite bad reviews and it’s been good well I’ve now had my taste of bad awful awful awful

We had a take away twice this month as my partner likes fish and chips , I like to eat healthy , I had fish rice and salad , charged 250 for a bit of lettuce , it came with boiled rice , had no taste , no problems with fish and chips , then 2 Nd time I had salmon and mash potato , wanted mushy peas instead of salad , charged extra 2 pounds , mash was instant mash lol yuck , never again , sorry but total rip off ,

We were offered either mushy peas or garden peas with our dishes. We both selected the peas from the garden. The food was absolutely brilliant and so was the service. We also enjoyed some great banter with Kev and Gill, who have recently returned to the UK after 11 years in Australia. If you want good food and great banter, then Time and Plaice is your place! Used both restaurant and takeaway services for years but went tonight for some pie & mash and asked for a pot of chilli vinegar which they normally give free but tonight they wanted to charge £1. Not a lot i know but it’s the principle especially when you’re spending between £15 & £25 each time.Won’t be going back or be recommending no more

I never knew this joint had seating at the back so I ate in and had a very nice cod and chips. My only complaint is about the rather poor service. A waiter should always check if everything is ok and if you need anything - there was sauce missing from the table so I had to get it myself as no one bothered to ask. One waitress was stood chatting to her friends at the end of the restaurant - quite unprofessional.Nice food but service could improve.

A return visit to this restaurant and four of us enjoyed a seniors cod and chips meal. Today’s was the best ever I have enjoyed at this restaurant, the fish was superb and the chips were very good and not all hard skinny ends like some other shops or restaurants! Served by a friendly waitress and good music being played. Well worth a visit especially at these prices!

I've often walked passed thinking it was a takeaway fish and chip shop but a friend arranged to meet there in her lunch break. I was so surprised to see the 'hidden' restaurant and the varied menu. After the excesses of Christmas I went for the healthy steamed cod, rice and garden peas. It was far tastier than I'd expected and satisfyingly filling. Clean venue, friendly staff, good value food, can't wait to try the other dishes.

Il locale da fuori sembra solo un take away, invece all’interno vi è una sala molto grande. Ho ordinato fish and chips e purtroppo l’ho trovato molto pesante da mangiare..troppo unto..ho ordinato anche un caffè a mio parere terribile, ma purtroppo è un problema di tutta la nazione.Il personale di sala invece è stato eccellente, molto gentile ed educato. Anche il prezzo non è stato eccessivo.

Best in the area, massive portions of a classic. Can't get enough of their pie and chips, and the Nutella milkshake! Friendly staff, and looks like a traditional chip bar with a lovely hidden restaurant behind it.

We have a home delivery it is always pipping hot and delicious, my son loves the burgers and salad he said it’s the best burger ever my husband has pie mash liquor again it’s his favourite. I adore rock and chips and mushy peas the batter is super crispy and chips are just the best.

Myself and my daughter went to this establishment before an evening of comedy. Initially we came for the pie and mash, but was told they did not do a vegetarian pie. Which I was told they will look into it. So I had the cheese and onion pasty mash peas and gravey. And it was lovely. My daughter did her own breakfast but a little bit of communication mix up as she just wanted what she had asked for as it was a create your own breakfast but the waitress thought she wanted to add extra to the normal breakfast you can order. However this got sorted quickly and my daughter enjoyed her meal after this. The waitress was lovely and very friendly and helpful. Next time we are in Dartford we will be back

went here before going to Orchard theatre and was surprisingly impressed!For a fish shop it was clean and the staff although a bit slow was friendly and we felt welcome.I had pie and mash and they were actually Goddards pies which was fantastic!Prices not too harsh either so all in all a great expereince.Will definately be going back.

Living in a town which has plenty of restaurants but no "pie & mash", my wife and I never miss an opportunity to eat in one when we can. We have dined in many, across the South of England, and this one rates amongst the best.The fish and chips looked good too.The fact that this restaurant was so busy is a testament to its quality and value for money.We will return when next in the area.

Love this place for Fish and Chips. Good menu and great food. Reasonably priced and you can sit in or takeaway. Staff friendly and service is quick but you don't feel rushed.

Myself and my Grandchildren often eat here, the food is good, the prices are good, but what draws us back time and time ... the staff! The ladies who serve in the restaurant are wonderful. They are so friendly and good at what they do, but, watch them around some of the more senior eaters and your heart melts. They know them all by name, guide single eaters together and you can see how their actions make the day for some. But, lets return the the food. This might be a fish & chip shop with a seated area too, lovely decor by the way, but there is more on offer than a battered sausage and chips! well cooked, good portions and always clean. Really is worth a visit A+++++

even though we were in a fish and chip shop, we decided to go for the cheese ploughman. We both agreed it was the best ploughmans lunch we had had for a very long time, struggled to get through it due to being so large on the portion size and so reasonably priced it was untrue. Very busy with people queuing for a table so that in itself says its a good place to eat.

Decided to call in for a sit down meal of fish and chips. I had not called in here for a long time but remembered decent fish and chips previously.

Having eaten here a few times I can’t complain about the quality of the food and it is always packed which says a lot.

Large portions of good plain food served in a clean restaurant. I went for a light lunch and was not able to eat dinner later. Can't comment on other meals but the cod and chips was fine and plentiful. The service was prompt and non-intrusive.

We called in at 6 one evening. In between times for most places but here it just seemed to flow on.

Me and my family had our first take away of superb fish and chips, my kids loved the burgers full of salad and so fresh.

Have been so many times for lunch and with different people and have never had a bad experience. Staff are excellent and accommodating. I would totally recommend Time and Plaice. Such a large menu and of course they have their own fish and chip shop too - added bonus.

Desde fuera parece otro pescado y llevar chip, en su interior hay una gran zona de asientos (calculo que tiene unos 70 personas) no está superpoblado como algunos establecimientos similares. El pescado y las patatas fritas son muy buenas, también hacer puré tarta tradicional todo el día, un desayuno inglés completo y aperitivos. A comer en el restaurante o para llevar. Los precios son razonables y la media de la zona. Los aseos son renovados hace un año, están en buenas condiciones y limpias y ordenadas.

Went with a friend for breakfast here today. 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, beans and the tastiest toast with a lovely cup of tea for less than a fiver each! Good food and great value for money. Service good too, will be back soon

I tried this tucked away restaurant didn't realise it was there and so glad I did. Between the family we had the Cod and chips delicious best bit of Cod we had in ages! I tried the chicken princess with rice and a beautiful bit of salad on the side my God the homemade sauce was to die for. We had the lamb steaks which we also delicious. My goodness great meal a jolly atmosphere and great customer service !! All in all a great experience and will definitely be back to try out more on that menu !!

Pastel de puré o pescado y patatas fritas. La comida estaba bien y que seguimos regresando. :), a primera vista, parece un normal llevar, pero hay una agradable zona de estar detrás.

My wife and I decided to have a breakfast at this restaurant and both ordered breakfast with bubble and squeak extra. When our meals arrived the the basic breakfast was fine but the bubble and squeak let the whole experience down.It was freshly made powdered potato with frozen peas mixed in and was not even browned off.

The 1st time we went to eat in we were shocked at the rstaurant at the back it was lovely. The menu is quite extensive (not just fish or pie and chips) . The drinks are a bit limited. The service is good and the food is freshly cooked. What a lovely surpise

We booked in 30 of our Seniors Club at Time and Plaice for a midday lunch. Very efficient staff with all served quickly and efficiently. Really good fish and chips served on the Seniors Menu - well priced and excellent value. Thoroughly recommended.

I visit Time and Plaice once a month with my Carers group. We are always looked after so well. It's table service. There is a good selection of food which is very well cooked. The ladies are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is very nice and comfortable and welcoming. You never feel rushed even when they are busy

good all round, excellent staff, few surprises on menu for what is basically a chip shop. could do with a little money being spent on premises but overall good

Located in the centre of Dartford, this little chippie offers seating for maybe 50+ and a menu that extends well beyond the usual chip shop offerings. The service was OK and the quality of food was good. Pleasant waitress. Worth a visit

The food was spot on, service with a smile. The hot chocolate was presented well and all tasty. Whilst dining in- the Decor is lovely and makes it a nice place to eat out. It has a real calm atmosphere with music in the background and friendly efficient staff. Will definitely return.

Chips are thin & frozen, not traditional fresh fat cut chips. Doesn't serve battered sausages or saveloy. Very expensive for what you get. £15 for 2 cod & chips! If you're looking for a traditional chippy there are others in town

We my wife and I that is have visited the Time & Place a number of times and had no problems at all, I do think it is sad that “Toilet experience” by Xchocsomething is very unfair I have always found them clean and no problem, its a shame that all they have to do when visiting a eating house is to inspect the toilets! Food good, service good not as cheap as Wetherspoon "and they vary" but nevertheless good.

I really liked the customer service at this place. However I didn't think there was anything special about the food. The setup was a bit depressing to me but the attendants were very warm and welcoming. I don't think I'd be visiting any time soon.

Coming from Canada, I was hoping for a great feed of fish and chips. This place did not disappoint. This was probably the best I have ever eaten, and the service we received was second to none.The true sign that it was that good - the 10 young teenagers we had with us polished off their plates.Make sure you try the local brew - very tasty (there are 3 or 4 different kinds).We even went back a second time during our 8 day visit to the UK.

I'm quite fussy when it comes to chips and this place does really good ones. The quality of the fish was also good. Busy on Saturdays so get in early, good staff and service.

We discovered this place by accident. Great fish and chips to eat in or take away. Generous portion size and stunning chips. Also do pie and liquor.

En kollega og jeg ankom til stedet lidt i otte om aftenen en onsdag. Der sad to andre gæster i det store lokale. Jeg bestilte det der vel er deres specialitet; 'fish and chips' i varianten med den dyreste fisk, jeg tror helleflynder. Betjeningen var venlig, men det tog lang tid at få maden. Det blev beklaget, men det skyldtes at man havde slukket friturekogerne og de skulle varmes op igen. Pommes friterne var gode, men jeg var lidt skuffet over det fine stykke helleflynder, der var fritteret til ukendelighed.

Our favourite fish and chip shop. Really friendly staff, reasonably priced, excellent food. Haven't tried the restaurant side but plan to in the future. Can't recommend it enough.

This is the closest place that does Pie and Mash near us, I telephones and orders 4 double Pie and Mash with Liquor £27.60, Pies was lovely but the Liquor was a bit thin and should be thicker. We will try again as might have been just the day!!

Behind a counter serving fish and chips, this is initially easy to miss, but once found is a delight. Its clean, tidy, staff excellent, attention to detail superb. Especially the assistance that is given to the elderly, disabled and small children. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is always hot, large portions and delicious, say no more, go and try it -also prices are very very good

What appears to be a fish and chip takeaway from the front hides what is rather a great mix between a cafe and restaurant.. The menu offers some excellent seafood dishes which are cooked excellently reminding me of holidays to the med.. This place is well worth seeking out

This must be one of Dartford's best kept secrets so keep it to yourself, not just the Best fish and chips for miles but also fancy main course meat dishes as well, chicken, pork plus others and not at fancy prices, We that is the two of us eat there for around twenty pounds Inc. drinks. They also do what they can for pensioners and do a plate of Cod and chips, tea and bread and butter for less than seven pounds a head. Or of course you could always go a couple of doors down and have a McDonald’s flat burger and chips, your choice.

I always use the toilet in every restaurant I visit and when I walked into the toilet in time and plaice I was met by a filthy poo covered toilet brush with nothing to even attempt to hide the fact that it was filthy and poo ridden. The toilet is so small that the toilet brush was one of the main features in there. These toilets are obviously not checked often as that mess on the loo brush was not done in one day. If the toilets are like this which surely the staff must use and see then what is the kitchen like? We didn't have the fish but we chose calamari and scampi which were both over cooked and of a cheap quality and the chips were rather dry. Overall not a good experience and I won't be long back

From the front its a smart looking takeaway but go to the back and it opens up up into a big restaurant. It has red leather seating and low lighting making it a very comfortable place to relax. The food is wide ranging - a huge array of various fish dishes, traditional food like roasts and meat pies to burgers and lighter meals. You could have a full three course meal or just a snack, what ever you fancy. The restaurant is open until late and is licensed. It even serves an excellent Christmas lunch. All the food is freshly cooked and the service very friendly and prompt. And the fish and chips are great.

From the front this looks like it is just a fish and chip shop but there is a very nice cafe at the back. Very comfortable that is none of those seats fixed to the floor that barely leave enough room. The breakfasts are nicely cooked and use good quality ingredients and you can get a really good set breakfast with tea for less than a fiver. I also had some decent fish and chips to take away once. The staff have always been friendly and the service is good. I would recommend this cafe.

We often come here to eat before going to the Orchard Theatre because of the warm welcome, excellent menu, very well cooked food and value for money. I always try something different and really like the grilled king prawns.

when ever i go to the orchard theatre which i do several times a year we always use this superb resturant it is not just a fish and chip shop it has so much more to offer try the filleted sea bass mediteraen style wonderful sevice with a smile very good price food is excelentall my friends and agree by far and away the best resturantof its type for many a mile 1st class 5 star well worth a visit highly reccomended rh burchell

Visiting Dartford on a Thursday(market day) we needed to find a convenient eating place so selected what appeared a take away fish and chip shop.this turned out to be a well appointed,well staffed restaurant with a good menu in addition to fish and chips and Pie and mash.Good service freshly cooked and reasonably priced.
