Quality service and food to wet the appetite!

The Timberquay restaurant is a fantastic place to eat. The staff are very helpful and service is excellent. The £10 menu is amazing value for money. The food was fresh and homemade of excellent quality Fresh homemade chips. Desserts were also homemade and tasted fabulous. I look forward to returning again very soon.

My and my partner went to Timberquay for the Valentines special deal. The food was top class and the service was amazing. Will be returning soon.

What an amazing wee gem. Went for a casual Saturday lunch. I was handed a lunch menu with everything just £5. We weren't hopeful of having much at that price but couldn't have been more wrong. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the service was great, too. We will definitely be back.

Had lunch here today with our two young boys, 5 and 3. The staff were so friendly and made an effort with our kids. Give us a table that meant we werent bothering any other customers, and seated us at a table of our choice. The food was beautiful, absolute bargain and was so tasty. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back; in fact I'd say Timberquay is our go to place for lunch now.

Our company booked into Timberquay for our Christmas do. The food and service was amazing. After the meal was music and dancing. I hadn't considered it as a venue for a party of 40 or more people, but they were amazing. Very much recommend 👌

Me, my boyfriend and our friend went for some food, as we usually do. My boyfriend found a piece of fluff in his Guinness, when our food arrived my friends chips weren’t cooked and were hard, i got my sandwich and there was a piece of saran wrap in my sandwich.

Ceasar Salad was a bowl of lettuce- returned. Salmon was dry and overcooked. Waitresses were apathetic and disorganised. Restaurant managers scruffy outfit, not appropriate for his role

Popped in for some lunch we took advantage of the £5 lunch menu. Loads to choose from and the kids meals was a massive portion. Would definitely recommend and will be back. Safe were lovely and a pleasure to be around so helpful and nice 🙂 we paid £38 for 4 adults and 2 children

So I got a burger and my friend got some battered haddock. My burger was lovely, great size and all. But the bloody size of my friends haddock was only a little larger than two fish fingers. I love to look out at the quay and all. The service by the waiters were grand as well. I would come back but not order them fish fingers.

We went to Timberquay as one of the group had been there twice recently and had a great experience- definitely not this time. The restaurant was cold, we had to ask for the heating to be turned up. They couldn’t do cocktails as the bar person had gone home ( the place was not busy). Three of the mains had to be sent back as the chicken was cold, never a good thing. They did apologise and dishes were recooked, just meant one in the group having to eat on their own - not ideal. The cost of two starters was deducted from the bill by way of apology- which was appreciated. The waitress was very pleasant and did apologise again but there was an issue in the kitchen if three dishes were returned for the same reason. The overall price was reasonable but overall a disappointing experience.

Had a lovely lunch with work friends. As it was lunch time service was very quick which suited perfect. Food was fresh and perfect lunch portions. Will definitely be back

Finally found a place that does good food! Had the 5£ lunch special, chicken burger was juicy and had proper chicken breast, the steak and mushroom pie was very nice as was the toastie. Will be back

Lovely restaurant and the food is unbeatable. We had the spiced tomato soup, ceasar salad, fish tacos and Louisiana chicken and everything was delightful. Ordinarily, I hate tomato soup, but I could have eaten a bucketful of this one. Amazing. The fish in the tacos was crunchy and flavourful, but something in the toppings left a bit of a strange aftertaste. Not bad; I would order them again, but they'd be nicer without the bitter aftertaste. I ordered fries as my side and they were the tiniest bit undercooked. Nothing special, but they're french fries; you know what you're going to get with them. Portion sizes are reasonable as are the prices and the server was friendly and attentive. Can't wait to go back. Even with the small flaws I mentioned above, I still give it a 10/10.

So disappointed with my seemingly £5 lunch, which cost me £8.50. Not even a chip for sides. Will never return.

Excellent food. We ordered lamb with mashed potato & veggies. Outstanding. The service was impeccable--very efficient and knowledgeable wait staff. Wonderful decor and ambiance. Without a doubt, the best restaurant we dined at while in Ireland. Overall, a great experience.

Thanks to staff for the warm friendly atmosphere and the food was delicious....we got items from £5 menu...the roasted tomato soup and steak & mushroom pie was divine .. ....my grandson was 3 today and we had a lovely family meal...delightful!!

AMAZINGGGGG!!!! We have been touring all over Ireland for 15 days, and this is by far my favorite restaurant that we have been to thus far. Steak was cooked perfectly, dessert was excellent, singing and harp playing were a beautiful accompaniment to dinner. Everyone in our group had an excellent time. If I had to make a "complaint", it would be that they didn't offer us post dinner tea or coffee. But otherwise the service, the food, and the ambience were all outstanding.

Recently visited with my 2 sisters and had a wonderful evening. Our meals were very tasty and the staff were very attentive. They even offered to swap my meal out when I found the Louisiana chicken to be spicier than expected. A little sour cream did the trick, though, for my palette. The views are gorgeous, and I love that the tables are well spaced from each other. Will definitely choose this restaurant in the future.

The service was excellent as was the food. We both had the salmon. Beautiful restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant while in Derry.

The best spot in town for any family occassion or casual lunch. We would always go here and the staff are so friendly and will get anything sorted for you. They are also very disabled friendly with spots outside and free carpark around the corner. The view of the foyle and boats is my favourite thing too.

Excellent meal, great choice on menu. Worth booking ahead as its a busy spot.

We had an excellent meal as always. I had Louisiana chicken which was so tender and tasty. My husband had a steak which was perfectly cooked to his taste. Wine was excellent especially his Malbec. Great cosy atmosphere and and definitely our favourite local restaurant.

Top Quality steak with fast service and friendly staff

We visited here on the 4th of August, for pre wedding day dinner with family from Derry and Liverpool, can only say what a great experience we had here the welcome was great the staff are amazing and the food was great, highly recommend and definitely will be back.

Was pleasantly surprised when i popped in for lunch today & tried the marinated chicken tacos from their everything for a fiver lunch menu. Two substantial tacos loaded with filling & extra mayo on the side, delicious. I tried their ceasar salad side with it which was equally delicious. Fresh crunchy salad with lovely toasted crutons, bacon. Sauce delicately dressed the leaves without being too much & topped with grated parmesan cheese. Was just as it should be not vinegary or overdressed. The amount of chilli in the tacos was just right not overdone. There was more in the bowl of salad, I took the photo after a few mouthfuls 😄 The tacos & salad paired very well with the dragon fruir cooler which i had with my meal. I highly recommend the tacos. I went on to have a flat white which was very nice served with a shortbread biscuit & a creme brulee with raspberries & a creme anglais with raspberry coulis, vanilla ice cream, biscuit crumb & shortbread biscuit which rounded off the meal perfectly, yum I'll be back. Definitely worth a visit. Inside & outside dining area. Friendly informative staff. Riverside view from inside & outside restaurant. Lovely beachy mural on wall inside dining area.

Disappointed!! Nowhere near the level of what I had expected. Not really about the customer but more about satisfying themselves! Asked for a cappuccino after my meal which felt like a chore, I don’t know if the machine had been off or cleaned or what but after a large party of people spending a rather large amount of money on food and drinks you would expect more. I found no difficulty with the staff who were all great but more so the manager to be honest, very disappointing and will NOT be back

Our tour group ate at Timberquay for dinner. The meal was very good. Service was fantastic and greatly enjoyed our time there. Dez was was fun to talk with and made sure we had everything we needed.

Had an unexpected half day today and availed of the five pound lunch menu, with my son. The food was tasty, plentiful and piping hot. The service was also very good, the girls were friendly and efficient at their jobs. Looking forward to another visit soon.

The peppered chips, delicious. Southern fried chicken burger the best I have ever had. Very friendly staff too. Its incredibly cheap but don't let that put you off.

I’ve been to this restaurant loads of times and it never disappoints. Tonight I got the chicken wings to start and the chicken pitta pocket with garlic chips for main. All the food tasted fresh and it was all gorgeous. Really reasonably priced too. My partner got a cocktail and said it was really good and at £7.50 it’s a bargain! Honestly give this place a go. The service was brilliant too… I didn’t get the name of the women who mainly served us but want to say thank you for being so helpful and friendly.

Had a very off putting experience very recently here. i had a table booked for the time i had arrived, when we arrived the manager was sitting at a table on the left laughing away for about 5 minutes before getting up to seat us. Once seated we were shown a two course menu, that gives the option of a starter and a main, or a main and a dessert. I asked the manager if i could order two courses from the set menu as that what was given to us but if i could order a dessert from the full price menu also to make it a three course meal. The very arrogant manager cut me dead and said that it was not possible at all. Now, this is on a specials night, where there was only 2 other tables...and i couldnt order extra food from the full price menu???? Never have i met a manager to turn down money on a busy night never mind a dead specials night. The service this man gave me and my partner was the worst i had ever experienced. Every time i asked a question the manager would cut me off with "thank you very much" and walk away before i even get to finish my question and did this for almost every conversation throughout the night. I will never ever return, not until i hear of better service, which doesnt seem possible with this man in charge.

Lovely food and reasonable Such lovely staff who were very accommodating and attentive. We arrived with a young baby. They were always checking that everything was okay and even heated up my dinner when they noticed my daughter had become a bit unsettled during the mains.

Arrived at 1pm for lunch sat for 20 mins before our order was taken. Sat for another 40 mins and still no food had arrived. Eventually had to leave and get the food to go. No real apology or acknowledgement when paying for the food. Won't be back.

Had been just before Christmas and had the turkey dinner which was lovely but this time ordered off main menu and quite disappointed. The pasta was so spicy you couldn't eat it and the chorizo sauce tasteless, the garlic no more tasted of garlic . To be honest when you are being cooked for by a chef you come to expect more, really disappointed.

Always helpful and accommodating

Called on Thur 7th Dec to book a table for 2 at 7pm on Saturday the 10th. Was told "you won't need to book that. Just show up." Arrived on Saturday and was told we can only have a table for 40 minutes and someone has booked it. I declined and was rudely told "what do you expect? Other people showed up"

Had a section Christmas lunch here today. Food was beautiful, staff were absolutely brilliant, couldn't do enough for us. Really enjoyable. Service was excellent.

Went as part of a group of about 30 people. The menu was not cordon bleu but everyone agreed the food was very well cooked. Service was also very good. The only complaint was that some of the company thought the restaurant was a little cold.

Me and the mrs went for a date night meal. I’m litterly only leaving this review to say that the batterd haddock was so unbelievably good. Found this restaurant on Tripadvisor during a shot stay in Derry. Experience from booking through the leaving restaurant was excellent. Food was great, staff very friendly and accomodating.

My steak was completely full of grissel. I could not chew or cut through it. I gave this place 4 stars as service was great and others who did not order the steak had great food. Others in my party recommend the salmon. The desserts were very good. I would come back but stay away from steak.
