Tilly's Of Castleton in High Peak

Great place for a late breakfast. Food was excellent.

A real delight and a great place to spend an hour or so in a relaxed environment enjoying excellently produced and perfectly delivered food and drinks. We had 3 full english breakfasts, 3 hto drinks and 3 wonderful desserts and still had change out of £60, which I think is pretty good value given the very high quality of the food and the service with a smile. All the drinks and cakes came with little wrapped chocolate bars, which was an extra special treat. There is even free WiFi as a bonus. We had booked in advance using Facebook messenger to ensure a table, and chose to sit upstairs at the rear where it was quieter and further away from road noise and staring passing tourists. Will definitely visit again. Thanks to all the staff at Tilly's of Castleton.

just came with my friend for lunch, had an all day english breakfast and can honestly say it was the best i’ve ever had. Came out super fast and staff were super friendly and kind :) Definitely recommend!

A lovely place to rest after a hike up to Mam Tor, Lose Hill etc. We had a really lovely cheese on toast, a couple of coffees and soft drinks. Very clean, great service, close proximity to car park.

Tilley’s of Castleton is a true gem, offering a delightful escape in the midst of nowhere. I was grateful to find this establishment open at 9 am when no other options were available. Opting for a veg burger, garlic bread, hot chocolate, chocolate milkshake and British tea, I was thoroughly impressed with every dish. The veg burger was flavorful, the garlic breads perfectly toasted, and the hot chocolate indulgently rich. Trying British tea for the first time was a memorable experience, with its exquisite flavor leaving a lasting impression. The ambiance of Tilley’s is simply lovely, with meticulous attention to detail evident even in the restroom facilities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and kind, adding to the overall warmth of the experience. A visit to Tilley’s of Castleton is an absolute must for anyone seeking a delightful dining experience accompanied by top-notch service.

I had a full breakfast but had to pay £1 extra to have a) my eggs a different way, b) an extra egg and c) black pudding. Would be better to have a free choice of how to have your eggs & then a choice of large or small breakfast instead of having add ons. Lovely food though.

Looking for a cafe for lunch in Castleton, at lunch time!! Tilly's had really good reviews, we are fairly local but had not tried any cafe's in castleton. We where very pleased, loverly food, good prices and loverly staff. Will be back.

This is really amazing! I came here to enjoy the cake an hour before work. Bakewell cake is very suitable for me as a sweet food lover. The clerks are very warm-hearted. I like it very much. I hope you can come here before going to work to enjoy a quiet breakfast time.

I tried Tilly's when it opened according to Google and waited 5/10 mins after but for some reason they opened late and didn't mention why. However I returned again later and was happy with my visit. Good quality food at reasonable prices. Very tasty and the staff were extremely friendly. Bathroom was very clean too. Would return in the future, but hopefully the times are accurate going forward!

A lovely café with charming, efficient staff. Comfortable and well laid out. Busy, and we were warned there might be a wait, but our two veggie breakfasts turned up soon after our drinks. They were well worth the short wait. The food was top quality, the quantity was just right for us. The boss, a charming lady, was very pleasant and was lovely with our little terrier. I must confess our normal café in Castleton was closed for maintenance, otherwise we wouldn't have gone to Tilly's, but it is now our new favourite Castleton café. I'm sure it will continue to be successful.

Family lunch for 4. Three pies and one Lasagne. Local bottled beer, wine and soft drinks. Coffees and deserts. All perfect and served with a smile. A great place to eat, we will be back. Thank you.

Popped in twice over two days for drinks after walks around Castleton and despite being local have still not tried any of the other cafes. Staff friendly as usual and warm scone with cream great. Would recommend although did notice that some people were getting disgruntled waiting for their food on one of the days.

Rubbish. 14 pounds and a 40 minute wait for a sausage and egg sandwich. People got served before us too. When asked why the wait I was told theres only one chef (so get over it). I wont be bothering again.

The coffee here definitely needs some improvement. Very burnt milk and tasteless. Would be great otherwise

Really great experience! They were kind enough to hold a table for us while we popped to the info centre as well. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious - I tried their hot chocolate and jam and cream scone. It was a generous portion and very tasty. I'd highly recommend a visit :)

We came here for lunch as a party of six. Seems like we didn't play to their strengths - we were hidden away and after we ordered a range of dishes it took about half an hour for our food to arrive. When it came the lunch dishes were nothing special. From reviews it seems like this is a better option for tea and cakes for 1-2, but larger parties looking for a full lunch meal should try elsewhere.

Popped in for some coffee and cake. First time in the town for us. Was seated even though it was approaching closing time. Service was prompt. Nice little english tea house. would recommend.

We had the most beautiful English breakfast, the owners were so welcoming, food was delicious cooked perfectly and fresh. We would absolutely recommend a visit here.

Still the best place for breakfast in The Peaks, and I’ve tried them all! Breakfast is wonderful, sausages and bacon are clearly locally sourced and high quality, this is quite simply as good as a full English can be. Staff are always welcoming and friendly, restaurant is always spotlessly clean and tidy. I’m a fussy so and so and can usually find something that could be better but not at Tilly’s. I made the mistake of trying the Pool Cafe in Hathersage yesterday and it was awful on every level, I left a review for that too! I can’t recommend Tilly’s enough, you won’t be disappointed.

Popped in after doing the cave dale circular walk. I am a fan of scones and the fruit scone (with 🍒) was fantastico. So annoyingly the warmed up tasty treat was half devoured by my better half 🤔 Earl grey tea very good as well So like other reviews we woz impressed and staff also very friendly 👍

Lovely place very well set out with beautiful chandeliers too. We had a Gorgeous Tilly’s full English breakfast cooked to perfection! My French boyfriend who is a coffee connoisseur said the coffee was superb! I’d definitely recommend this place.

Today was a miserable one in Castleton.I stumbled through the door of Tillys Tearooms to a warm welcome. My mission was to get my coffee fix and get out of my home on wheels for a while. Having been in the catering industry myself I instantly recognised the high calibre of the staff and I immediately fell into conversation with the very articulate and jovial owner. It is always a pleasure to meet like minded people. The establishment has a really calm and positive feel, not least because of the large windows that offers not only light but a connection to the street outside. In fact its one of those places that gives you a lift and raises your vibration. There is an extensive menu and I would thoroughly recommend Tillys to most visitors to the village.

Lovely little cafe! We camped not too far away, and found this place open on a Sunday morning. Ever so lovely and welcoming staff, who we're very accommodating to my awkward take out order. They were rushed off their feet, but didn't slack on their service. Food is amazing too.. was definitely cooked with some love. Now fueled and ready for our walk. Thank you again!

We visited Tilly's three times during our five days in Castleton. After our first visit we knew we wanted to go back to a delightful cafe which combines excellent food, dog-friendliness for our five small dogs and a superb friendly welcome. The comfortable rooms and lovely staff make this a place you must visit when in Castleton!

Lovely, hearty full English before heading home after a weekend in the Peaks. Super friendly staff even at 9am on a Monday morning! Breakfast potatoes were 🤌delicious. Decent coffee and good value for money! Comfortable seating, nice atmosphere and decked out in Halloween decorations. Impressed to see some gluten and dairy free options on the daytime menu too.

Surprisingly welcoming and comfortable tea rooms in centre of Castleton. Excellent staff. We enjoyed very large flat white quality coffees and even larger blueberry muffin at the end of our morning hike! Really pleasant decor, furnishings and toilet.

We stopped off for lunch at Tilly’s today, this was our first visit here! Staff were very welcoming on arrival, this is a very clean place, I loved the decor too! I opted for the toasted sandwich with salad, and ordered a side of coleslaw, everything was delicious! I was very impressed!!! I had a hot chocolate while waiting for my lunch, this could have been warmer. My partner had jacket potato, unfortunately he didn’t enjoy his meal so much as the jacket potato was microwaved with very little butter. He had a raspberry and white chocolate milkshake, this, he said was really lovely! However we aren’t ones to like to complain and we will definitely be back, there’s plenty of choices on the menu and this little gem of a place is right in the heart of beautiful Castleton!

Brilliant breakfast after walking down from Mam Tor. Served promptly, and food arrived quickly. Great local places as art on the walls, most impressive, is the Ladybower backdrop! All in all, it's a fantastic place x

Had the full English breakfast with a breakfast tea my hubby had the same breakfast with a cafeteria of coffee, meal was ok but only Luke warm this time which was a shame, they were very busy when we got there just about 9.30 and the waitress did explain there could be a 30 minute wait which we did not mind at all but was a shame the meal not so hot , may have been better if the plates had been hot like they usually are, not sure if I would return for a breakfast again which is a shame as enjoy them usually

After stopping overnight in beautiful Castleton we went here for breakfast. Did not book but got a window seat even though busy with more seating upstairs. Waitress friendly as she took our order in which I had the full English of sausage, 2 bacon, fried egg, tomato, mushrooms, breakfast potatoes, beans and toast all delicious and plentiful at £9.75.

We returned to this cafe for yet another delicious full English breakfast. Always great service and good value served with a smile

Our first visit to castleton and wanted somewhere to have breakfast. We have two dogs and wanted somewhere where dogs were welcome. Tillys welcomed dogs and the menu looked appetising. We had the full breakfast and a Latte. The meal came out and looked perfect ..It tasted as good as it looked. One of the best full breakfasts I've had in a while.

We were at Tilly's for lunch as a group of 4. The service was painfully slow, but when the food arrived it was excellent. The staff were very pleasant and friendly and the cost was fair. However, in my experience, not a restaurant to visit if you're on a time schedule.

Visited mid week, so wasn’t over busy. Waited 50 minutes for a ploughman’s and chips. Checked after 30 minutes and told it was just being made. When the food arrived no apology for the wait, doesn’t cost anything to apologise for the wait. Wouldn’t visit again.

It’s not often I get a choice with my dietary requirements but Tilly’s offered a warm welcome, choice of gf/df/vegan options and a clear understanding of for example cross-contamination. Food was great and atmosphere was lovely, offering a welcome respite from the downpour!
