Tiffin Vintage Tea & Coffee House in Monmouthshire

Sat outside. A friendly waitress brought us menus and returned to take our order. Coffees were good and strong. Tiffin delicious! I look forward to my next visit.

Great friendly service with a smile. The coffee’s were lovely and our food (Salmon and cream cheese crumpets + Ham and Cheese toasties) were absolutely divine, really fresh and fantastic quality. We will definitely visit again for a slice of your lovely cake. Thank you!

Tiny cute little place, girl who was serving was very friendly and went out of her way to help. Limited menu but what we had was nice. Toilets are up the stairs so might be an issue for some.

myself and my partner had a lovely lunch at this tea rooms. I had the mozzarella, basil and pesto toasted sandwich and my partner had the ham and cheese toastie. Both were lovely. The staff were very friendly and had good covid measures in place.

The venue is bigger than it seems from the street so if it looks busy as you peer through the window, it’s worth going in. The menu is short and precise with sandwiches, toasties, soup, quiche, but the ingredients are good quality. There are several cakes and scones to go with your cuppa too. They use Welsh cheese and serve Welsh cakes if you want local produce.Plenty of choice of tea and coffee is perfectly acceptable, both served in trendy mis matched fine china cups and saucers with tea in a proper teapot. Very enjoyable.

Drinks are very traditional with tea served in bone china tea pots and cups and an excellent brand of coffee that's not bitter or excessively strong. A small menu is offered with a whole range of snacks, cakes and sandwiches.

Stopped for a light snack Ham salad and toasty, nice and flavoursome. The Tea was excellent, full bodied and the highlight.

Didn't try the food but this is a nice little individual place if you prefer to avoid the chains. Cosy with a nice atmosphere.

It's so hard to find places that do a good hot chocolate with all the trimmings but the one at Tiffin's was great. Breakfast of crumpets also hit the spot. Lovely location, nice staff and really good prices. Can't wait to eat here again.

We were visiting Chepstow for the day and came across this great little tea house where we stopped for a light lunch. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food and drink was excellent.

Both of us had the cheese and ham toastie followed by welshcakes. The roasties were lovely, if a little burnt on one side, and the salad one the side was a nice accompaniment. Welshcakes tasty again but a little unevenly heated and slightly dry...All in all a good visit but could be so much better with a few tweaks.

Visiting Chepstow we came across this lovely place, beautiful comfortable surroundings both inside and out, friendly staff and freshly made sandwiches which we really enjoyed. would highly recommend this you won't be disappointed.

What a lovely surprise Tiffin Tea & Coffee House is, having passed two National coffee houses my wife and I walked into Tiffin just 50 yards down the road to a delightful welcome, wonderful coffee and gloriously fresh and tasty chocolate cake, The coffee house is a small space adapted to a bijou cafe serving hot snacks and lovely cake, although we live 15 miles away I am sure we will be back again.

Lovely find. Three of the four of us had toasties which were really nice. Quiche nice too. Didn’t try the cakes but looked good 😊😊😊

I called in here with my Nan for lunch and we both thoroughly enjoyed the crumpets and toasties that we had. Would I go again? I would if they had a telephone number so that we could book a table. We've been back twice and there were no tables. Nan is not able to stand for a great length of time. Very disappointing not to be able to book.

We were a party of three looking for a drink and snack. Tiffin is quaint and very welcoming. Food is nicely presented and tea is served in vintage cups and saucers. I really liked the small cake knives and tiny shortbread shapes. Lovely attention to detail. We ordered tea and two types of coffee, crumpets, soup ( homemade, hot and very filling)and two slices of dark chocolate tiffin (delicious). The bill was around £17. Service was friendly and quick.

Had lovely tosties and great tea too. My only slight concern is, they take cash and then carry on making food orders without washing hands, gloves may work, but need to take precaution on this matter. Otherwise very nice place

I come to this cafe every so often to meet with a friend who lives "on the other side of the bridge" and Chepstow is a handy midpoint for us to meet. This is a cosy little cafe, which offers a good range of coffees and teas, cakes, toasties and muffins. Service is courteous and prompt and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Called in after walking around the castle, very good selection on the menu and the staff very helpful with specials etc. Nice coffee and the food was really nice,seems to get busy so you may need to wait a short while but well worth it.

Stopped for an early lunch on Saturday after visiting the castle. Lovely food, incredible hot chocolate and the cakes looked so good, we had to! Friendly, good service. Great food. Wish we were local.

Had lunch here today it was lovely all 3 of us had toastie with a salad garnish perfect we sat outside in the small courtyard out the back of the cafe so nice highly recommend staff were great very helpful we go to chepstow once every 2 months so will definitely be returning if your in the area worth a visit

We visited here after spending a few hours at the castle and in town. Small but cozy cafe with friendly staff. Limited menu but thats OK as its a small cafe! We shared tea which was served in quite a large pot so plenty for two of us and had cheese and ham toasties each which were delicious and freshly made - did not skimp on cheese and did not burn them either. The scone my partner had was good as well and not too pricey so all in all a good experience. They do accept bookings for larger groups and you can get a room to yourselves upstairs which is nice. Otherwise, about 15-20 people i think could fit in the main area of cafe.

We stopped off at this tea room on the way to the NDAC nearby, despite the power cuts (which were affecting the whole town centre not just this tea room) the staff remained cheerful throughout and provided a fantastic service in a lovely environment which was vintage without being twee- well thought out art and other items of interest really added to the theme.

A lovely place on the high street of Chepstow. Go through the shop to a quaint garden at the back, a proper little sun trap. The tea is served in a China teapot with a dainty shortbread biscuit. Beautiful food and good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Myself and a friend received a lovely warm welcome on arrival. We both ordered sandwiches which came with a small salad. The food was fresh and the service prompt and friendly. I would definitely recommend to others visiting Chepstow town centre.

This is a nice, proper tea shop offering a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of the main high street. Independent, with good snacks on offer (we have cheese on crumpets as a second breakfast) and pleasant staff

Visited here as a couple whilst in Chepstow for tea. The place is a little quirky. We had fruit scones with jam and clotted cream along with a pot of Assam tea. Plenty of tea in the pot (enough for three cups each). The scones however were disappointing and were reminiscent of processed shop bought ones. Also they had a feint taste of ginger which was odd. Not sure whether this had been picked up from something else in the kitchen or was intended. Service was generally good though. We won't be going back.

Popped in for a coffee with my friend and really enjoyed the cosy atmosphere. The red haired girl who was looking after the tables was really friendly and attentive. And the man behind the counter who I presume is the owner was really friendly and welcoming to us and all of his customers.

It’s comfortable and pretty but with a modern feel to it. Not what I would call a vintage tearoom. Having said that, the food was of good quality. I had a cream tea which was very good and the sandwiches that my company had looked delicious. I would visit again if in the area.

We couldn't resist the inviting window featuring yummy cakes,in we walked. Loved the vintage decor,lots of pretty porcelain,odd table mats and pastel tablecloths.The staff were friendly and helpful,and the cakes delicious,a great discovery.

With a range of chain coffee shops at the top of the town it's easy to go with what you always do but Tiffin is worth making a switch for. It's bright, friendly and quick to serve food that's equal in price but much better...

We arrived 3.20 on Saturday afternoon hoping for tea and cake. First thing the young girl serving did was to tell us that we couldn't have hot food even though we didn't ask for it! We ordered tea and cake. Good price. Random shabby chic...

The title says it all, easily my favorite coffee shop in Chepstow. The guy that served us (i believe the owner) was very attentive and polite. The surroundings are very pleasant and I love the informal seating (sofas etc).

We had smoked salmon sandwiches which were delicious with really fresh bread. The pot of tea for two came in a proper big teapot. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Clean and comfortable and a great alternative to chain coffee shops.

We initially went in to Tiffins for a very late morning coffee but when we saw the quality and freshness of the food being served immediately upgraded to an early lunch. Both food and drinks were freshly prepared and served by wonderful smiley and friendly girls. The toasted sandwiches were so good we were compelled to have another lunch there later in the week. Do you really need a greater recommendation?!

Technically the place was closing as we entered but undeterred the staff made us welcome and stayed on to serve us tea and wonderful cakes.

Ordered a coffee and tea cake. Finished my coffee before the tea cake arrived. The staff was chatting away- The tea cake arrived, the butter was oily (as in it's been heated and gone to a liquid). A bit disappointed.

My friend and I stopped in here after exploring Chepstow Castle for some rose lemonade and scones , and we could not have chose a better place! The staff was warm and welcoming, especially once they realized we weren't locals. The scones were delicious, fresh, and warm and the drinks were great. The location itself reminded me of a doll house, it was the cutest place. Highly recommend.

What a great place, great selection of teas, and freshly made cakes,salads sandwiches team very friendly and a fast service also, I had Darjeeling tea and Welsh cakes - delicious comfy leather sofa available and some cafe style tables also a lovely place well worth a visit

There may be other places nearby that offer a better deal than here (eg free slice of cake with a coffee) but this place has atmosphere and style, without being pretentious.Lovely ambience, very friendly manager and waitress, delicious home made cakes and a wonderful 'find'.

Been here several times and afraid my experience of the menu is limited to the toasted cheese and onion sandwiches on brown bread, with nice dressed salad. They are so good I've not yet felt the need to try anything else. Tea and coffee also good. Efficient and friendly service, nice atmosphere, excellent place.

When we come to Chepstow we try to have coffee or lunch at Tiffin. The staff are friendly, efficient and thoughtful. My husband went to buy a newspaper after we'd ordered. They did not start his until he arrived back even though they had brought mine, so his was piping hot as well.

We had cheese and ham crumpets with a lovely cup of latte in very comfortable surroundings. The perfect treat after a morning browsing round our lovely town of Chepstow

An old style tea room with a friendly atmosphere. Did not feel like a visitor in this 'tourists' town while here enjoying a break from being a tourist.

We called in for an afternoon slice of cake. There were plenty of home made cakes to chose from. We shared two different cakes and then got white tiffin with cranberries to take away with us. All we very nice, particularly the tiffin. Others near us in the cafe were served the soup, which looked really good and was apparently as good as it looked. We would be happy to go back and try something savoury when in Cheltenham again.

Visited here with my mum and small one. They are very friendly and helpful. We sat out in the very cute summer house and enjoyed a really nice cuppa and cake. The surroundings both inside and out are very comfortable and nicely spaced out. They have a good range of tea choices, herbal, decaf, green etc. The tea cake was a good size with a nice amount of jam and butter. I had a really big slice of Victoria sponge. They also made a lovely child friendly hot chocolate. They also happily stored our pushchair inside when it started to drizzle. They do have a savoury range of food which looks very nice, however we haven't tried it yet.

I have walked past this cafe so many times and never been in-I really wish I had! A lovely little tea room with yummy tiffin (as chosen by my toddler). The gentleman serving us was lovely and very welcoming. It had a nice atmosphere and was very reasonable! Would go back again!

If someone recommends somewhere to eat, it's always good when you visit and find the place lives up to expectation. There's a friendly atmosphere into the bargain, plus the kind of crockery we enjoyed seeing our meals served on back in the day. But please don't confuse vintage with twee! I could not have eaten a more delicious quiche if I'd visited Paris's Left Bank for lunch. Top marks, Tiffin!

Visited with a group of friends for morning coffee/tea/hot chocolate and enjoyed our drinks in the sweet little garden. Returned later for lunch for some very nice filled baguettes (and some welsh cakes) in the same cheery outdoor area. Loved the little summer house at the end!

Came here with the parents when showing them around Chepstow. Lovely find with friendly service and a nice relaxed feel to the place. Hot Chocolate always does it for me, so I was happy and enjoyed a couple of their home made cakes

We visited this tearoom yesterday and found the staff friendly and accommodating. It looks really quaint inside, and served lovely tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We will definitely go there again on our next visit to Chepstow. Very enjoyable !

Friendly staff nice who offered quick service. A lovely vintage atmosphere with tea served in old china cups. Good food and drinks which were very reasonably priced and owners were very kind to our daughter age 6 we will definitely be visiting again and will recommend to friends and family thank you.

I usually go to the chain coffee shops in town but was recently made aware of this tearoom. What a find! The staff are all so welcoming and it's a haven compared to the busy chain shops. No loud clanking of crockery and constant blasts from the coffee machines. Just quirky little tables, mismatched chairs and pretty tea cups. The real gem is the courtyard at the back and it even has a little 'shed' so you can escape the rain. I enjoyed a very peaceful hour reading my book and will definately be coming here instead

Visited with 6 lovely friends for coffee/catch up. My first visit. Wonderful greeting by the lovely chap that might possibly own it, not sure. Smiled and greeted with zest. Made us all smile as he was so happy. Lovely cheerful lady took our order. Just loved the mismatched chairs and China with teapots. My kind of thing. No food ordered, as we weren't hungry at time. Lovely quick service. Able to chat without it being too noisy. Decided I would return again. On leaving the chap said have a wonderful day ladies. That earned you brownie points. Everyone commented. Next stage. We all went home. I had another appointment later in town and bumped into another friend. Where did we go for food and catch up? My second visit of the day. I'll be back. Thank you. Food was lovely.

What a wonderful find from the cheerful welcome to the feeling of being in some old relatives sitting room it was lovely. Excellent cup of tea from a teapot and well browned crumpets.

This is a little gem, it felt like a cosy sitting room. My friend and I both had the quiche and salad it was delicious.The staff were very friendly and helpful and came around offering a taste of tiffin which was very sweet and definitely very moorish. Will definitely visit again and would like to try their afternoon tea which looked great.

Stopped to have a cream tea and sat in the little courtyard garden. So lovely and peaceful and surrounded by sweet smelling flowers. We had the scones and cream with tea. Lovely scone with plenty of jam and Cornish clotted cream. A real find in a busy little town.

This was our second visit to the Tiffin after the first visit was lovely . It was a purpose journey into Chepstow just for the scones and tea. We walked in to the cafe and the gentleman behind the counter just said ' we are full' and didn't even raise his head or apologise. We left to go to the bar across the road and returned an hour later when there was available seating.When we did manage to get a table , we dragged two chairs from an empty table as there were 5 of us. It was all very nice until the gentleman from behind the counter came over and commented on how he was turning away customers due to us taking too many seats. Before we made any comments he went on to explain that not all of us had purchased drinks ( three of us had ordered cakes and drinks ) . The gentleman suggested that half our party should leave ..... Little did he know they intended to order cakes later and were just deciding. Due to this we left with a full pot of tea and the left experience was a bitter one.Also on the way out we saw two empty seats which could have been used and resolved his situation. This is poor customer service and we will not be retuning !

Living in the area we aren't sure why this weekend was only our first visit to Tiffin. We will definitely visit again! Lovely ambience, beautiful decor and proper tea cups. We enjoyed a pot of Earl Grey tea and scones with clotted cream and jam - fresh and very tasty. Can't wait to sample more options on the menu.

Looked on Trip Advisor to find somewhere to have some tea and coffee. Tiffin came up top and it did not disappoint. The service was friendly and efficient. Drinks nicely presented with a little shortbread on the side and the scones were very tasty and nice portion size!If we were in Chepstow again we would definitely return and suggest others visit as just such a pleasant experience!

This tea house must benefit from being unrivalled in its location. It is nicely decorated, but at 3pm on Good Friday could only offer cakes and drinks; not even a sandwich. The scone tasted at least a day old. Very disappointing.

This is a lovely tea room! Everything from the vintage décor, tasty, freshly prepared food and friendly staff gives you a relaxing, welcoming experience from the second you walk in. We were given a 'grand tour' of the place by owner who has more plans for the café. There are lovely squishy sofas and even a room for groups to have tea and a chat. It is a hub for locals and visitors to the lovely town of Chepstow. I can't wait for the warmer weather to eat in the quaint little summer house outside in the garden. Definitely the sort of place to return to again and again.

We had a lovely time in this great little cafe. We just had welsh cakes and tea, but it was delicious. . As there are two cafe chains in town, it was very pleasing to see the cafe so busy, there was not a spare table.This is well deserved as the staff are great , the atmosphere was just right and the food was yummy.

I'm new to the area so met a few friends for afternoon tea. Such a lovely setting, everything was lovely service was great and the food was stunning. Definitely recommend this place to meet and catch up with friends. Will be back again very soon !

i like Tiffins, i've been a few times and the owner is a very friendly chap. The teahouse has a lovely cosy feel. The food is lovely, really tasty and good portions at very reasonable prices. Have also had one of their afternoon teas, and we ended up taking some cake home as there was so much!I would highly recommend Tiffins, especially as I feel they do a much nicer job than the various chain coffee places in Cheppers! Support Local!

Proper old skool traditional tea shop makes a nice alternative to Costa and Coffee #1 just up the road. You can still get your frothy cappuccinos etc but in a nice cosy traditional english / welsh environment. Nice selection of snacks including excellent cream teas right through to full meals. Always friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Only complaint is that sometimes its too busy to get a table!
