Tickety Boo's in Dundee City

Traditional pub, more for locals than tourists.,OK range of beers. Food is good, lots of it. Hottest chilli in Dundee IMHO, it really is hot!

Pretty decent boozer. Staff seem friendly and serve you well before you even know what you want. Pints all taste good, decent selection of drinks. Toilets are great for hiding in and I find that I might need to hide from the countless dodgy stares other boozers tend to give me. Almost like I'm still wearing the high vis.

Friendly bar, nice beer and a great place to watch sport for half an hour. Its pretty small though, and if there are more than 40 folks in there it starts to get crowded! Nice staff too, would definitely recommend 👌.

Come here regularly for a pint and some lunch. Good atmosphere, good for watching some sport and a good pint served by great staff. However….. the food has gone down hill. Whatever you do, DO NOT order their “juicy burger”. A better description would be 5 day old frozen meat with consistency and chewiness of an inner tube served on a plain dry roll. All for the bargain price of £12. Ordering cheese on your burger won’t help to add any juiciness as that is simply some grated cheese dumped on the side. No butter, no salad, no sauce (unless you pay extra). The side of frozen onion rings sets the plate of nicely though. Officially the worst burger I have ever had in my life.

Still one of the best pubs in Dundee, a bit quiet at lunchtime today, but food and service very good 😋👍

Good food, and good service from the bar staff. 8 of us in for lunch and pre football drinks, couldn't do enough for us.

Came in for a late lunch. My chips and salad were lovely, but the small haddock was tiny. The batter was dark and soggy, and I had hairs in my food. I didn't complain in case one was mine, but I'm sure one was within the fish as I didn't see it before eating.

Had a lovely meal service and staff were very helpful and courteous would go back.

Didnt have food but i had a whiskey and a john smiths... the staff were froemdly and the atmosphere was good will defo go in shain next time im in dundee

This was the first time,but definitely not the last time I will be in this incredibly dicevingly bigger than it looks on the outside place.I walked in to a very friendly and cheery barmaid,who instantly made me feel welcome.It has a good range on offer,nice comfy seats,although some upholstery is needed on some of the booths.It even had an upstairs.Great vibes,give it a visit

Greeted by a very rude female bar person for showing point card and abruptly telling me I should have said I had a point card before ordering?? Bring back Gus & Charlie when pub was a welcoming bar 👌

I loved this pub. It's small enough to be more personal however, it's big enough to accommodate plenty of ppl. We didn't sample the food although it looked delicious with decent sized portions. I also loved how there were poems written by William McGonagall on the walls. The one about the 'coo' on yonder Hill is absolute genius imo 😂 I'm going up there again at Xmas & I'm looking forward to calling in again. Very nice pub ✌🏼

Hello there. Me and my family walked in last night and got told we had too much to drink and got asked to leave? The women who was at the bar didn’t even let us say one word. None of us were drunk this was the first pub we went into. The barman who was there was smirking and thinking it was funny. This isn’t the first time they have done this. I’ve seen this situation before Sorry we came in smiling and happy that’s clearly an issue

The latte was really bad, tasted like sweet milk. We also had panini sandwiches which were overpriced and nothing to write home about. Overall I would probably not recommend it for coffee.

I live locally and not been in for years Very quirky pub with original features and has a unique round sitting area upstairs over the bar downstairs Great choice of beers/wines/whiskies We didn"t have food as the kitchen was closed and they have quiz nights on mondays Well worth a visit when in town

Stopped in for a quick drink, place was heaving! Served quickly and even managed to get a cheeky wee seat.

Great family lunch. Appreciate the option of smaller portions..Food was well presented and very tasty.. Although busy we were served quickly and our waitress was very helpful and efficient. Would definitely go back.

The food was lovely with very reasonable portion sizes. Large range of lagers, whiskeys and other spirits. The woman that served us outside was kind, patient and more than happy to help us.

A traditional boozer. Excellent service, 80' and relaxed atmosphere in the afternoon. Busier at nights and weekends, with a bit of a buzz. Circular bar downstairs with additional seating upstairs. Very welcoming and highly recommended.

Great old charm... typical local hole. Good sports viewing and sound quality. Could do with some pub dribk deals like the others around the corner.. Fix your loo.

My last afternoon in Dundee - where to go? Tickety Boo's without question. It is one of the best bars in Dundee - no exaggeration. Lovely kind, helpful staff. Delicious food in big portions during the day. 80s/90s playlist. A big range of gin and whisky. You can even pop in for a coffee. Also lots of TVs if sport is your thing. The place is a "Fun-dee" institution!! Quote me 😍

Super Essen zu guten Preisen. Viele Einheimische auf Mittagspause. Die Baguettes sind zu empfehlen. Extrem netter Kellner. Haben sofort für den Abend reserviert.

Lovely pub over 2 levels. Nice background tunes. Everything really clean. Staff are epic and no idea how they manage to work around the really neat (tiny) bar. Nice place for a pint.

In dundee this weekend so naturally we popped in by for some refreshments, still old but gold, nice atmosphere in the place.

I had 2 hours to kill in Dundee while waiting for the bus to Blairgowrie. Decided to pop in to Tickety Boos. Really glad I did. Superb pint of MacEwans 80/- and excellent bar staff. Upstairs has a quiet bar ( unfortunately still able to hear the sports on the big telly but a lovely 2 hours spent ). Would recommend the bar to all who enjoy a well pulled pint and a great staff.

I love this place yes it's a bit cramp but if you do get a seat the staff will make your stay a comfortable one and toilets very clean and food 👍

If you are looking for a great pub / atmosphere ….. which sells great well priced food ( including smaller portions)., look no further.. Too often nowadays you get a restaurant that sells drinks….. This is a traditional Pub…. Which sells food . There are not many of these traditional jewels left and this one is not to be missed.

Great pub in the centre of Dundee , We popped in on a Sunday afternoon atmosphere was relaxed and sociable. The staff are really freindy, live sport on show and , through the week, have excellent food on offer. Its a 5 min walk from the bus station and close to all the main shops . Well worth a visit if you are in Dundee

The barmaid got my drinks order wrong, twice, and second time around decided my friends and I were banned when I told her again my order was wrong. So a group of 8 banned as the barmaid messed our order up twice and could not accept it was her fault. We'll never be back.

Excellent find from us while in Scotland visiting, we was only there for 3 days but Tickery Boo's was that good we went twice! Food was excellent, staff superb and beer not bad either, I would hazard a guess that if the place was four times larger it would still be full, think that sort of says it all.

We needed a break from walking and a visit to the loo so we stopped by for a gin. Not a very good selection of beers. Pub was clean and so were to toilets. Service was a little slow even as we were the only customers.

Another fantastic meal, arbroath haddock and chip with balsamic dressed salad and coleslaw included in price, wife had baked potato with chilli and cheese, could have done with a little more chilli,pub was a bit cold unfortunately but didn't affect meal everything cooked really well and staff very attentive to us, definitely be back

found this place by chance - what a find ! cosy , quaint pub . staff were extremely friendly - thankfully they had plastic straws as my autistic son has sensory issues and cannot tolerate paper ones. food choice was extremely good - highly recommend the arbroath haddock ! very good value for money . we were hoping to support local business and were very glad to have found this wee gem.
