My family took me here to celebrate my birthday this evening. Very friendly, polite and efficient staff. A lovely atmosphere. The food was superb beautifully presented and really hot. Lots of choice on the menu and very reasonable prices. Will certainly be going back there.

We live local but it was the first time here on Saturday 4th Feb. From the moment we walked in, we received a warm welcome from the bar staff and owner and wevchose from a good selection of drinks from the bar whilst we waited....

Long waits, for mediocre food. Wouldn't go back again as the older blonde lady glares at you for not eating fast enough, or you dare to ask for vinegar. You would have a much better meal at a chain Italian, not to mention better service. You need to sack her and use less salt!!

Visited this restaurant on a Friday evening to be told that fish dishes on the main course menu were not available. I enquired regarding the starter mussels to e told also not available. The starters and main courses arrived and were excellent. Puddings were ordered and after a short wait they arrived however, the Creme Brulee was very pale and we were informed that the blow lamp had developed a problem and was not available to brown the top.I asked for the bill to be informed that credit/debit cards were not accepted and payment was cash only. A trip to the cash machine at nearby supermarket saved the day.It's a shame that these problems occurred as the staff are always friendly and helpful and the food very good.I hope that this was a one off.

Been here a few times and always end it ! The service is lovely and polite, never waiting too long to be serviced, the only issue is that they do not accept cards for a method of payment. The menu has a large variety, something for everything. It is always presented beautifully and tastes great however sometimes a little greasy. I do recommend this sweet little Italian, it has a lovely genuine Italian feel to it.

Enjoyable evening ,after reading some of the reviews regarding staff were a bit mixed all i can say is they were welcoming friendly .The restaurant is quite small and the interior could be improved however the food more than made up for this being a Tuesday night there is a special offer for 14.95 which includes any starter any pizza or pasta and a glass of wine.starter i had King prawn in chilli,lemon.garlic partner had mussels in wine both fantastic tasting and cooked fresh ,the pizzas are massive 14 inch to be honest one would feed two so to sum up a very enjoyable experience and will be back as Arnie would say

Came for a meal last week with friends and all I can say is I can't believe people keep going back here, it's the worst customer service I have ever had. The old blonde woman who speaks to you like 1) youre stupid and 2) you're inconveniencing her by being there. Hello? we are paying your wages!!!!! Because we were in conversation during our starters she came over and asked if everything was alright when she knew we were in a private conversation, But this didn't seem to bother her, we were obviously being too slow. The main course was average, calzone was pretty tasteless I think they scrimped on herbs, salt and garlic. The lasagna was mushy and I have made better myself, for 10.00 I would have at least expected some taste and nice staff wouldn't go a miss. Couldn't wait to leave, made to feel awkward the whole time. Didn't like the way you had to decide on a drink as soon as you walked in, no wine menu, and when we asked for Merlot or Cabernet red we were looked at blankly by the teenager full of attitude and no social skills and given a bottle of house red, I felt so sorry for the lovely waiters they were bossed around by the old blonde girl like you wouldn't believe, they were so polite too, oh well you live, you learn, in short don't bother going!!!

Girl took us up stairs did explain was only table left even though at top of stairs older waiter made us feel very welcome and was charming .talked us through menu and house specials .double checked someone had got our drinks . He came back explained manageress would be 1 min and take our order.but he returned and took himself . He served our lovely cheesy garlic bread and main courses which where deliousious. The atmosphere was busy but he made us feel special and we loved he addressed us as ladies all evening charming man . As we left he made sure to say good night and how lovely it was to see us . Was lovely evening and we where made to feel very special .. excellent customer service .

Visited after trying to find a new local Italian restaurant. Young girl behind the bar was very friendly and along with the male waiters, very attentive. The food was above average. The only downside to this experience was the blonde member of staff who I presume is the owner by the way she was chuntering around the place, being rude to the male members of staff and didn't even acknowledge myself or my fiancée, which was very noticeable in a small restaurant. It did effect the restaurants atmosphere, and although we had an enjoyable time, management could be improved.

Have been coming to Ti Amo's for the last 3 years since the new owners took over and have never once been disappointed.The food is absolutely delicious, authentic Italian food by the Italian Chef. The service is outstanding, very attentive staff and the host Tina is such a lovely friendly lady and makes everyone feel extremely welcome. Can't fault this restaurant at all.Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Even my highly critical Italian friend who is very hard to please when it comes to pasta was impressed by the food here. Not only is it excellent cuisine but the staff are very welcoming and accommodating. It is also very good value if you go on a specials night. Good food, pleasant service, just lacks somewhere for a drink after and a chat, car park holes are lethal as well. Pasta is a delight! Pizzas were wafer thin and tasty, antipasto meats were a little predictable. Fish cake starter was good. Italian sausage stuffed chicken mains was good. Worth a visit.

I have visited Tiamo's quite a few times now and I cannot fault the food. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food has been perfect - I have enjoyed it every time.The only slight let down is that the food can take a while to come out - however all good things come to those who wait!

I imagine the rude blonde lady who flaunts the place upsetting everyone is the owner. She must be, any owner would've sacked her within days of her god awful customer service skills :) if the food was incredible I could almost forgive her manner as a quirkiness that has to be endured to receive the tasty morsels but it's not very good either. Salty.. Cold.. I like the building though. It was a nice place before this lot moved in (although the food was still pretty rubbish). See you in the Taste of India for some decent food with good service.

We have dined here a few times now, we've always had a warm welcome and found the hostess to be very attentive. The food has always been lovely and authentic and the portions are large, though we did attempt a pudding afterwards. The setting is cosy and intimate and well suited for couples. There is handy parking to the rear, but it should be noted in advance that they don't take cards.

We have lived in the area 5 years and less than a mile from Tiamo but not visited until 6 months ago and then again tonight. In summary the decor is lovely and modern, excellent choice of wines, starters and mains, too full for a dessert!Staff friendly and attentive. Last time we came we didn't have cash ( cards not taken ) but the manager just said pay next time! Typical of the friendly community spirit of Penistone.Food itself was far better than I expected, beautifully presented and generous servings, really top quality.We would wholeheartedly recommend!

I recently visited Tiamo's with my partner and had a very lovely evening!The staff were very attentive and friendly throughout the night and when the food came it really was something special. The waiting time for food wasn't bad at all and we were kept busy with our drinks. The overall atmosphere was relaxed and the surroundings were lovely, the only downside is that the room upstairs is only quite small and you almost feel like you are sat having a meal with everyone else in the restaurant.A great place for couples.

Just returned home from our first visit. We felt welcomed from the moment we entered the restuarant with very attentive staff. Food was excellent, fresh and tasty with good presentation. Wait between courses was reasonable and the house wine was excellent too. Certainly this was a good experience and we will be looking forward to our next visit.

I don't usually leave restaurant reviews and it's even a shame in this case as the food was actually alright, however I came here with a group of work colleagues and the event was unfortunately spoiled by by the attitude of the serving staff.We had booked in advance for a table for 10 for 8pm on a weekday, and I think the problem was that the restaurant was quiet and the staff just wanted to close up and go home. We were rushed from the very beginning, with the starter plates being cleared away before a couple of us had even finished eating. What annoyed me most though was a error with a drink towards the end of the meal - my husband had ordered me a second glass of draught lager without me realising, and as it didn't come for a very long time I ordered another. Within 60 seconds of this and before any drinks had been brought to the table we realised the error and immediately apologised to the waiter and asked to cancel one of the drinks - however he immediately proclaimed that both drinks had already been poured so he was not able to cancel them - 5 minutes later he brought both drinks to the table. At best this was just not good service, at worst pettily dishonest to quibble over a glass of beer in a £200 meal.Around 9:30pm the staff obviously decided it was time for us to finish our meals and leave so they could go home, and this progressed from over-attentive serving to finally just leaning on the wall by our table and watching us.By the looks of some of the other reviews here we were not alone in receiving such bad service. In summary maybe this restaurant would be OK for a meal for two, however for a large group there are better options available where you won't be treated so badly - we won't be returning.

The food was excellent and the service was good, apart from one thing they got wrong. The problem was we took a promotional card from, landmark promotions, and the deal said on one occasion you could get 50% of the total bill (as long as it came to a maximum discount of £25). This was the only information supplied and we presented the card before we ordered the meal. After a great meal we ordered the bill, to discover that you had to order starters for the deal to be included, which was not mentioned before we ordered. After a great meal it was shame for the manager to be stubborn and not allow for the discount of this occasion! May put us off going again as the restaurant clearly lacked communication with the card organiser, and refused to cooperate on the matter! For a matter of £25 quid they may have lost repeat business...They also don't take card!

Thought we would try again after many years of not visiting (previous poor service, missing orders and a manager who hung up on me!), relatives visiting so thought it would be a nice change. We had tried once before but had to leave as 'cash only' (really, no cards in this day and age?!) so we ordered takeaway food via just eat, even though we would have to pick up. Husband set off to call at supermarket first so didn't get the message that our order had been declined. Front of house said they were "too busy", despite restaurant looking quiet. We were nearly put off after reading food hygiene revue (1 !) - 'The judgement on confidence in management (such as willingness to act on advice, enforcement of practices, attitude towards hygiene and safety etc) of Ti Amo is ranked Low.' Should have gone with our first feelings and not bothered! Good job there is a major supermarket nearby to save the dayCan't comment on food, atmosphere etc as didn't get any food!!!

Aye here with twelve friends Great service and lovely food - really enjoyed it! I had gorgeous scallops to start and amazing steak but everyone enjoyed whatever they had! Good wine and excellent service - will go back!

Just had a wonderful Christmas meal at Tiamos in penistone with family. First time ever dined out Christmas Day and loved every moment of it. Food, service, atmosphere excellent as usual. Always have a great meal at tiamos but today's surpassed all the others!! Thank you Tina and your family for always making us feel so welcome. See you again very soon!

First review we have left without even eating at the place but after 2 awful attempts at going shan't he trying again. First experience we went as a couple stood at reception whilst woman on her mobile phone clearly on a personal call turned her back and after over 10 minutes being ignored we left and went elsewhere. Second attempt some years later tried to book for our 14year old daughter and 9 friends for a Christmas meal. Asked if 7.30 was ok and told fine until their age was mentioned then asked if they could come earlier, I said ideally not only to be told that they had to be supervised as they might put toilet paper down toilets and sinks and be rowdy. Needless to say we didn't bother with booking and booked elsewhere where the highly regarded local restaurant were happy to accommodate our request without supervision although we are obviously more than happy to accompany the girls they obviously would prefer not to have us sat with them. It would have been much more preferable if a touch of tact had been used as we understand that they don't know our daughter and her friends you cannot tar or typecast teenagers and being a local restaurant in a small town it would not be difficult to contact parents if any problems occurred not that they would in our case. Obviously business must be great if they can turn down 10 x at least £20 a head.

A lovely little Italian just outside of Penistone town centre. Staff always ensured we had drinks & there was a wide range to choose from on the menu. The food was served with the best presentation, smelt great and tasted divine. Wasn't waiting too long for the food to arrive ether. Overall bill wasn't too hefty. A very happy customer and will be returning sharpish!

I had Monk fish with Norwegian prawns. I shall be having it again. As I will be having Filetto Rossini that I thoroughly enjoyed on my last visit. The ingredients are fresh and you can tell.I had a bottle house white which was very nice. (good restaurants won't put their name to bad wine) The service was good, polite and helpful. Went on Saturday night 11th October late booking but they accommodated us asking us if we would come at 7.15. At first thought this a bit early but then again obviously they wanted the kitchen to flow rather than pour . Need not have worried, there was no rushing, the two young male and female waiters were the most polite we have encountered, nothing was done other than in a professional and sincere way. The food was excellent and my wife and I eat out two or three times a week in London (where we live). Great choices of Italian food at great price range. You could have reasonably priced three course meal or something a bit more but certainly not too expensive or a rip off. Would go there regularly if we only lived nearer. Try it, you won't be disappointed . The only single fault is they only take CASH but that's a small price to pay if you pardon the pun!

Been here loads over the years, not so much since the new management took over due to overbearing and unpleasant female owner / maitre d. Luckily tonight she was nowhere to be seen and what a difference it made. Very friendly and polite staff who knew their stuff. Food was all top notch, Calzones were the highlight. Very enjoyable.

Having not been to this little Italian for a few years I decided to take a gamble and take hubby for date night! (Yep, when you've kids and been together years these daft type of ideas take on some form of mystic sacredness.) We were not disappointed. Tiamo's is now family run and authentically Italian. With lots of choice and the food deliciously well cooked we simply could not fault the meal. With the full range of pastas, hand thrown pizzas, meats and seafood there is sufficient choice for any palette. I can personally recommend the Calzone. The waiting staff are friendly and efficient and do a lovely job in a cost setting.The true delight (in addition to the food) is the hostess / owner .... A wonderfully friendly lady who genuinely cares that you have a lovely meal. The prices are what you pay for good quality fresh food ..... It's not cheap but you don't feel as if you've overpaid. In a nutshell - we'll be going again. That speaks volumes.Many thanks tiamo's for a lovely evening.

Yet another wonderful family meal and one of my favourite local restaurants. The staff are wonderful, but especially Tina and Tara. Both ladies are beautiful, warm, professional and very passionate about the restaurant. My mum is 92, she has just had surgery on her leg so is not very mobile. We rang and explained that she needed a ground floor table. They made her so welcome and worked so hard for her comfort. They gave mum a lovely night out and after the pain she has been in recently, this was wonderful. The food though was unbelievably excellent especially the Sea Bass and the Chicken dishes what a great family night out. I think it is sad that other reviewers do not see what we consistently do. I often suspect that you reap what you sew when it comes to service levels; polite people who are considerate and respectful of others, often receive excellent service standards.

We ate here on a Sunday night. Called at 6pm to make a reservation for 7:30pm and was made to feel most welcome. The only reason the service got 4 stars was because they had a new waiter in and were training him. He was far better than we expected of him, as was the lovely lady that also looked after us. The food was fantastic and we will definitely be back soon.

Chose to come to the restaurant after reading through the reviews (some average some not so average) I have to say I found this place to be very homely and outstanding service. This was our first visit. We were greates very warmly by bar staff/waiting staff who were very at tentative. The hostess/manageress took our order. She was so warm and greates us with a warm smile. She sat with us while taking our order and went through the specials menu and the main menu. We all found this to be a perfect way of knowing exactly what to eat. The hostess we found was very informative about the Manu (she knows the menu inside out). After reading the reviews about the manageress we found her to be polite friendly and very passionate about her restaurant, maybe people misunderstand her she was lovely the whole evening and made us feel very welcome. We all tried something from the specials. Good is delicious all plates were empty. We are definatley coming back. A wonderful experience. Well worth the visit.

My review and rating in here are based around the service in this restaurant - which is poor. The manageress is very overbearing and rude- rushes people through their meals (and tells them so) so she can get more in. Our group was made to pay for the starters of 4 people who couldn't make it as they are all pre prepared (calamari?!?) We didn't get the option to eat these starters. When the bill was nearly £700 - excluding most peoples drinks, I find this exceptionally tight. My wife and I were overcharged considerably for our meals. We did get a refund but without apology or concern. As we were leaving I heard the manageress tearing a strip off someone on the phone as they were going to be late.Terribly run establishment. A shame as the food is nice.

I've been to Tiamo on two separate occasions both times I can say that the food has been excellent, the menu is great and the location/atmosphere is good too.The only downside to Tiamo's is the service, I felt the lady who served us was rushing us (the restaurant was empty), the table we get was by the stairs so we got brushed past by everyone coming into the restaurant and not once were we asked if we enjoyed the food.It was average.

A group of friends came here for our mate's birthday. The food was amazing, it was like I was back in Italy again. I wish I could say the same about service, we were rushed, felt like a burden and had to all order at different times as the whole party wasn't there yet.I don't think we will return.

Can I just start by saying the food here is amazing. The restaurant is tastefully decorated the Italian music creates a romantic setting. The prices are reasonable too. I would recommend a visit here. The only negative was the lady hostess was really informative, but a little over powering. But our party had a good evening.

We booked here for bank holiday Monday. We were torn between this and another Italien we go to in Wakefield, decided on here though as we have never been. Turned up for our special evening (my partner works away and was heading back off the next day) to find all the lights off. There was a note in the window informing us the cooker had broke so they were closed!! I could be wrong but it seems more like there was only us booked in so they decided not to open! There were no notes for any other customers. A shame as we were really looking forward to it, think we'll try Puccini's or Boccellis next time we want an Italien nearer home.

This is our local Italian and by far the best Italian I have come across in South Yorkshire. Gorgeous food without fail every time, whether as a couple or part of a large group. My partner and I visited for a romantic meal for my birthday on a Tuesday night and as ever all was brilliant. Attentive staff but without the hovering and I have yet to find a fault with any dish I have eaten here. Would recommend every time.One tip - watch your change! As well deserved as it is, the staff often presume whatever leftover change there may be from your payment is their tip and so change is rarely returned to the table when paying the bill!

Heard great reports of this beautiful restaurant. Couldnt find it as lights not working above the sign outside. Eventually found our way in to find a lovely restaurant but was then rushed directly to our seat(admittedly we were 5 mins late, but would have been nice to have a drink first.) Starters(4) were superb, but our plates were being cleared away whilst we were still eating. Mains again superb although 3 mains were unavailable as they ran out (we were eating at 7.15). Then came the most disappointing aspect of our visit. Desert chosen was hot chocolate fudge cake(not our first choice but that had run out the day before) but it was still frozen in the centre. Having rejected this we waited to be asked if we wanted coffee this never came neither did the coke we ordered. After 25 minutes of asking for the bill it came. We then had to wait to pay because only 1 person could use the till but it was more important to make coffee.
