Limited menu - possibly due to Covid restrictions. Food/service good. Quite relaxed atmosphere - price not too bad.

Eaten here the night before our flight in the morning. Great value for money. Just a shame the menu didn't have the choice as it does in the central London hotels. What we had was great and tasty and good value for money. The restaurant was clean and relaxed staff very helpful.

I stayed at Premier Inn Gatwick North before my flight to Istanbul. As we are now living in Covid-19 times, it is no longer buffet but order at your table. I found the full English breakfast to be very tasty and staff were proactive about offering more juice and if there was anything to do to help. The breakfast itself was very tasty and social distancing was well maintained within the restaurant area.Free WiFi was provided and was reliable for the duration of breakfast, Costa Coffee was also included in the price and a nice bonus.Overall the breakfast was excellent and probably actually slightly better quality now it is not buffet. If you are staying at this hotel you cannot go wrong with a cooked breakfast and unlimited tea, coffee and juice for £9.99!

My daughter and I ordered the vegan chilli non carne, I asked the waiter if it was made with quorn mince or vegetables / beans, & was advised vegetables, but turns out when it came it was with nothing!! A few spoons of rice and no more than two spoons of some kind of sauce - appalling, it looked like they did not have enough portions and so split what they had left between two, which wasn’t even a portion for one. Had to ask for the salad too that was supposed to come with it, bit of limp lettuce, no dressing (I have seen other reviews saying too much dressing - we didn’t get offered any!). Cost us £25 for the two meals that were not even worth £5, extremely disappointing & certainly won’t eat here again.

Very good and varied menu, efficient staff, very welcoming. We had the Meal Deal which included breakfast, always worth it if you have the time. Good bar as well.

We use Premier Inns very regularly and view the stay and meal in Thyme restaurant as part of our trip.Of late we have been pleased with the improved menu.The waiting staff are always tip- top.We used Thyme on our way out at the beginning of February and found everything acceptable.However , although I enjoyed my meal of chicken thighs in Piri piri sauce , curry and cheesecake very much ; my husband was disappointed with his gammon dish. He was so disappointed that he insisted that I include his issues in my review! We both accept that this is a very busy restaurant with pressures and not all dishes will be good.His gammon was tough and chips were luke warm. Our Rumania waiter was delightful.We will still use this restaurant in the near future and give better feed back at the time.

Efficient service throughout & food was lovely. Exactly the experience you would like starting a holiday.

This is a very large restaurant, and as you would expect in such a location, very busy. The first impressive point is that reception has two lanes - one for those with reservations and one for those without. I did not think to reserve so joined the queue to book. Since I was a lone traveller a table was available ten minutes later, so just time for a drink from the bar. Ten minutes later I joined the second queue to be seated. There were staff dedicated to this task, and they were pleasant and chatty as they do their job.Once seated I was introduced to the waiter for the area, Eduard, who was really helpful and attentive throughout.There is a specialist Asian menu alongside the classic choices. I had the salmon fillet, served with boiled potatoes and fresh veg which was well presented and tasty, followed by coconut sorbet and an Irish coffee. Total price £27.Overall an extremely pleasant dining experience, with well managed and well trained staff. The only advice I would give to travellers is to reserve a table in advance since it is so busy.

Very nice restaurant within the hotel, we use it often and enjoy the food. Wise to reserve your table when the its busy.

We eat and stay here on average 6 times a year. The menu has recently changed and we had the worst meal ever! The starter we like kofta usually comes with a nice salad and feta cheese. This time the salad was non existent as was the feta cheese. The main of chicken burger was dried out with a burnt potato bhaji on the top. There was hardly any salad and there was no dressing on it. I did ask for the dressing.A great shame to see how the standard of food has dropped. Hopefully it will improve for our next visit.

we opted for the meal deal when we stayed great value for money. Steak was nice for dinner and you can't go hungry at breakfast lovely poached eggs cooked to order

We often use Premier Inns at Heathrow and have always enjoyed our meals at their Thyme restaurants usually taking advantage of the meal deal if our flight out is not too early in the morning which is very good value for the price. The service is excellent and the staff always polite and helpful. Judging by some of the reviews I think customers expect too much for the price. Having an early departure from Gatwick on a Sunday morning we didn’t expect to be able to have breakfast in the restaurant. We were absolutely delighted to find that breakfast is served from 5 AM even on a Sunday! We were extremely grateful for this.Consequently we were able to enjoy both dinner and breakfast here and thoroughly enjoyed both. Top marks to the Premier Inn.

Having had some not altogether positive experiences at airport hotels, expectations weren’t high. You shouldn’t pre judge. Restaurant opened at 5pm and, as our 3 year old grandson was getting hangry, we were ready. Service from Alex was first rate, he couldn’t do any more for us. Food was very good and was good value for money. We ordered Irish coffees and again, Alex made sure they were made correctly. Yes it got busy later on, and we did ask about pre booking but were told it’s first come first served. Would have no problem recommending the hotel and restaurant.

At an airport it is often difficult to find something between fast food and luxury restaurant. The Thyme fits the bill. Good value, good service and decent seating.

We stayed overnight and bought the dinner/breakfast package - excellent value for money. owever, as the hotel is adjoining North Terminal you could consider just going there for a meal as probably better value than the airport franchises. Value is good, menu fineand ambiance perfectly ok.If staying at the hotel then mad to go elsewhere. Very busy. Book a table otherwise you will have a wait at peak times.

A☆ For The Service & The Food. Generous Portion Sizes & Great Wine. Great Atmosphere As It Was Busy With Holiday Makers.Staff Were Very Friendly Too.

We booked a table here having checked and rejected some ot the options in the airport, and were glad we did. Despite the queues waiting to get in, we were seated right on time - eating a little later seems to help, we booked for 8pm - and were greeted by Zack, very friendly and helpful. The food is as you might expect, we had burger and gammon, well cooked and presented and good value. The staff deserve particular praise, they were run ragged but kept smiling, Antonio was a star the way he dealt with an entitled drunk idiot who was old enough to know better, but the incident was handled cooly and calmly. All in all, a good experience.

This restaurant is at an extremeley airport transit hotel yet manages to retain an air of comfort and relaxation despite the high numbers of people dining. The menu is varied and the prices for both food and drink were reasonable. The food was served quickly and was hot and tasty. The waiting staff were friendly, efficient and professional. Won't hesitate to dine here next time we stay at the Premier Inn at Gatwick (or Heathrow where we have also had extremely enjoyable experiences in the past!

I had a ribeye steak that was cooked to perfection really tender, my wife had grilled chicken again cooked perfectly. Have no hesitation in recommending this Restraunt

Have eaten here before and this is definitely the best meal and service so far. Very friendly staff, we both had steak which was cooked perfectly (medium). And a great pudding. Excellent.

What can I say, a frantic restaurant with a captive clientele. Food is massed produced and just about passable. Feel sorry for the staff who are running about like mad things!!

I have been eating at this restaurant for years oh what have they done I eat there to day and it seems they are concerned with kids more than the individual I usually have 3 course meal plus wine coffee and a brandy but the kids everywhere can you put them in one part and others in a nother part I àm this king of using another hotel please don't loose your customers who come here eight or more times a year

We have ate at the Thyme on numerous occasions over the years when staying at the Premier Inn, we have old had one poor meal back in August 2018. We have also previously purchased the dinner and breakfast option with our room which is good value. We were here again in May 2019 and ate dinner. Good selection on the menu, we ate later in the evening, which was our preference and as it can be quite busy with families in the early evening. Although we always love the holiday atmosphere at the Premier In n We were quickly seated and served promptly with drinks before our meal which came out in good time. Service was polite and we were happy with our meals and the price we paid.

The restaurant serves good food but can be noisy if you book for an early meal. We book for around 9.30pm and it is much quieter.

When flying out of Gatwick in the morning always stay over the night before and eat here. Food reasonably priced and staff very efficient. I had pie & chips quite well cooked and nice and hot set us up nicely for early night as had early start. Dinner/ breakfast deal is good value if you have a later flight.

Despite the high volume of guests, staff are all cheerful and appear to be totally focused on their guests. Orders taken promptly and drinks & meals served promptly. Dishes are well presented. Don't expect 'cordon bleu' cooking but a wide range of fries, pizzas and fish dishes.

Good selection of all courses,I had the gammon with eggs chips mushroom pineapple and half a tomato,which I enjoyed.

Very convenient location, guess we chose rush hour to check-in, it was a bit chaotic.

Bought the package on arrival at the hotel that includes evening meal with a drink and breakfast. Ate our evening meal as soon as restaurant opened. It's cheaper to eat here than Wetherspoons in the terminal. Food was good.

First time in this restaurant part of the Premier inn , staff very friendly best burgers we have had in a long time, you have to book it gets very busy we will be back

My wife and I prepaid for the meal deal. The choices for dinner are really good and we had an excellent waiter to assist us. The food was served quickly and the steak I had was really good. All of this excellent food was washed down with a bottle of wine at a really good price.

We pre-booked the restaurant for dinner and ordered the meal deal which is excellent value. I had prawn cocktail my husband had soup followed by sea bass and rib-eye steak ( which incurred a surcharge) we had lager and wine for our drinks. All the food was lovely and we paid an extra £2 each to add a dessert.The service was first class. We do love a PI breakfast there is such a good selection and they serve Costa coffee.

A good menu and the food was good and tasty did not take up offer of meal deal as it does not include spirits and we were leaving to early for breakfast

the food meal deal was very good value for money .a lot of the staff are from portugal so for us this was a plus as they know how to tret peole with good service

We had a lovely dinner here. We went for a meal deal that included 2 or 3 courses a drink and Unlimited breakfast in the morning.

We were advised to pre book our evening meal time slot. We did this and turned out to be good advice as the restaurant was very busy. The food we got was good for the price we paid. We did not have breakfast as we had a very early flight check in time.

Busy hotel restaurant, ideal for guest dining when staying over ahead of a flight. Varied menu, mainly "pub classics" - prompt, efficient service, even when busy. Pricing fair, but becomes very good value when combined as a joint promotion with accommodation.

We went to the terminal to check out our options nothing to temp up so we opted to eat in our hotel. What a surprise. A large dining room with alcoves twist and corners. That gives a much more intimate siding experience. We had onion rings , fantastic.

Where possible, we always select a Premier Inn Hotel that has a Thyme Restaurant. The one at Gatwick North has the same good food, but probably the best level of attentive service that we have found in any of the group’s restaurants.

Had a really good breakfast here. Paid up front which made it better value. Everything you would expect from a good hotel excellent service.

Had dinner as it's really convenient as we were staying at the premier inn before our flight to Canada. A lovely friendly waitress looked after us. Nice steak and very quick service. Would recommend. You can't book, but they run a very slick operation.

My husband and I ate here before our flight using the meal deal which is excellent value for money. We were shown to our table by a lovely waitress and our order was taken very promptly. The food was delicious and piping hot and the drinks were ice cold.

Stayed at the premier inn and so decided to eat in the restaurant. I had a prawn cocktail which as excellent plent of prawns and fresh lettuce, I followed that with a ribeye steak cooked to perfection. My wife had soup which was very good, followed by chicken. Well, we’ve eaten here on quite a few occasions as we’re often flying out from Gatwick on early morning flights and the hotel is really convenient and the restaurant is normally consistently good. However, this review is based on our recent experience in the Thyme restaurant. We'd booked a table in advance of our arrival (you can do this on the phone by the way) and all was well with that.

In de omgeving van het hotel is nauwelijks iets te doen, dus wordt je eigenlijk verplicht om hier te eten. Dit was achteraf geen straf! Leuke bediening, niet te duur en het eten was prima! Reserveren is wel een aanrader, het kan heel druk zijn in het hotel. Ook is het mogelijk om een ontbijt + diner deal te doen voor nog minder kosten. Niet op aan te merken.

I am back again this is a restaurant that serves good honest food ,I had the steak and it was good , the waitress was as always very good. I love this place but the one gripe is why do you not have family's with kids in one part and couples and singles in the other and take bookings .PLEASE but I will be back in September

Part of the Premier Inn so convenient for that pre flight overnight stay. Food was good, service friendly and quick. The only downside is they don't take a timed booking. They do however, have a pager system that calls you when a table is free.

A good all you can eat breakfast with lots of choice; Bacon, sausages, eggs, toast, hashbrowns, breakfast potatoes, pastries, yoghurt, muffins, fruit, tea, coffee and juices are all plentiful.

Food is to a standard of all Whitbread restaurants, however breakfast is superb due to the manager Laurane.

We had an overnight stay at the Premier Inn and where very pleased with the restaurant. We had some very nice garlic flatbread and most of us choose the curry, which was very tasty. The kids enjoyed their kids menu, which was very nicely priced.

Better than last time, quick to knock but feel praise necessary tonight. Good food and service this evening however disappointed with menu descriptions, the gourmet burger with a ‘stack’ of onion rings comprised of two!!! Pathetic!

A friend met us for dinner so we decided to stay in at Premier Inn to have dinner rather than go outside or dine in the North terminal.

Stayed at the Premier Inn and had evening meal and breakfast at Thyme Restaurant and can only say that both meals were superb. Friendly, helpful staff which talked you through the menu and breakfast routine. Good variety of meals on both menus which cater for all choices.

Having stayed in the Premier Inn Gatwick North over many years, trying to seek out good restaurants locally and consequently failing. We therefore decided to take the plunge and each in the attached Thyme Restaurant.

First time here and the food was great, better than expected. The veggie burger and lasagna were very tasty. Restaurant is conveniently located.

We have booked 1 night at the premier inn before moving on the next day. We have had a meal and our waitress Agata was brilliant. She took our order with a smile and it came in a short time. My wife had the Jamaican jerk chicken burger, but she took 1 bite and it was too spicy, Agata saw she did not like it and bought her a chicken burger without the spice. We all enjoyed the meal an we want to say that Agata was very very good. Please can she have a good mention to the management as she was brilliant.

I eat here about 8 times a year when I stay before and after my holiday I am a solo traveler the staff are great and so is the food but why sit kids near couples or solo people I had 3 kids to my left and 2 to my right shouting all the time this restaurant is split in two by a wall so why not sit family's oneside and ones with out kids the otherside

We have used this restaurant a number of times over the years but feel it has gone down hill.

We were really disappointed to see options for fish eaters significantly reduced. You used to be able to add salmon to main courses - now only chicken!!!! Not veggie or fish friendly at all.

Ate here whilst staying at the Premier Inn before an early morning flight to Spain. Typical style of food but not expensive and had good service. And also on ground floor of PI so no need to leave hotel at all. Would eat here again if in same hotel.

Always stay at Premier Inn Gatwick North before the next day's flight to the Alps. Checked in to the hotel and booked a time slot for the restaurant. The service is always very polite and the staff are very efficient. Very much like the american way of training in restaurants. ( bit too much of are you having a nice day) the food is very good and comes quickly. Had drinks in the relaxing bar before dinner.

In the Premier Inn but not sure if a part as they do not charge to your room. That being said the service can be a bit slow but be patient and enjoy a decent meal. They have a daily special which is dinner and breakfast for a fixed price. It woeks well!

Two courses and a free glass of wine with breakfast in to £24.99, real good value. Service quick, meals piping hot, good value. Breakfast real good value eat as much as you want, lots to choose from.

Would definitely recommend eating at the restaurant if staying at the hotel. Had dinner here prior to flying out on Christmas Eve and whilst they were extremely busy we didn't have to wait an unreasonable amount of time for our food to be served under the circumstances and when it came it was delicious so certainly worth the 40 min wait!!!! Stayed at the hotel again following our return flight New Years Eve and again breakfast (albeit slightly more expensive than the usual Premier Inn prices) was up to the usual excellent Premier Inn standard (breakfast is especially good value for families with the usual kids eat free deal). Wouldn't hesitate eating there again.

On way back from the US we needed a good honest meal, which was exactly what we got. Burgers and fish and chips. Yum

We visited the Thyme restaurant on the evening of the 17th December, as we where staying at the Premier Inn, North Terminal Gatwick Airport, on our way to the Caribbean.

buona cena, anche se a causa di intoppi nel check in siamo arrivati quasi all'orario di chiusura e non abbiamo potuto scegliere tra tutti i piatti del menu. Le porzioni erano abbondanti (i piatti troppo piccoli per poter contenere tutto e quindi davano difficoltà nell'uso del coltello a far restare tutto nel piatto senza spargerlo intorno. Il costo leggermente alto, ma i lservizio buono.

We bypassed the starters and went straight for the main course....STEAK! absolutely delicious medium and plenty of it!

As soon as you checkin reserve a table straight away!!! Otherwise u can wait over an hour for a table!The waitresses were lively over cheesy and nice but you cant really fault them.We ordered the fishcakes with prawns, lasagne, buttered spinach and cheesy garlic bread. The fishcakes were inedible,£5,99 for 3 prawns and 2 fishcakes.....really? Even the woman sitting near us laughed her head off!The spinach was slush and actually when the waitress found out she took it off the bill.The bread was over cooked and no cheese.The lasagne £10.49 had no taste, was microwaved too much . The best thing about it was the salad!! Now the woman next to us had steak which looked nice and the cheese platter.....which wasnt actually that good looking.Overall they take advantage of the fact there is nothing else available here. A big disappointment and a shame for the hotel

Early flight so we had breakfast here. It was manically busy but the best place to go. Tip - if you want a cooked breakfast but don’t want a big meal, ask for the children’s breakfast.

Restaurant is part of the premier inn and is too small for the amount of rooms it serves ( having said that if you time it right it is quieter) went here 3 times in total mainly for convenience, first time was a shambles a 30minute wait system for waiting is a pager system but doesn't seem to work in any particular order (one lady was waiting longer than us but we got called first ???) Food was nice warm slightly smaller than average. Next time we went and booked the package deal dinner (2 courses and a drink) and breakfast for £26.49. Evening meal was good again not as busy breakfast was excellent. But restaurant furniture is tired and glasses (lipstick on my glass) and cutlery was dirty. There is such a huge turn over of people that they struggle to keep up with the basics.

Always eat here when we use gatwick. Food is tasty and hot, arrives quickly despite the restaurant always being busy.Buffet breakfast is excellent too.

While staying overnight in Premier Inn Gatwick North Terminal my husband and I booked the meal deal. The day we arrived we had 2 course meal each with a drink and we cannot fault that meal at all. When you book a meal deal that Premier Inn it is always two course meal with a drink and it can either be a starter and main or a main and dessert. My husband and I opted for the starter and main with a glass of wine which was excellent. In the morning before our flight we had breakfast which is eat as much as you like cooked and continental. You are spoilt for Choice for breakfast and also for beverages.Not only was the food excellent but the staff were brilliant too, good customer service and nothing at all was too much trouble.I would recommend anyone staying at this Premier Inn to also book the meal deal as it is really a good deal. Excellent service excellent food!
