I recently dined at this Restaurant with my Family. Firstly, I researched and found that they have a lot of food choices in their menu, and the reservation was easy to make, The customer service was outstanding, The ambiance was great, and the food definitely lived up to my expectations and the staff was extremely helpful in accommodating our special requests too. I was so pleased with the service I received. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We visited here last night with friends. A lovely welcome from the moment you enter. Friendly, knowledgeable staff on hand to advise about dishes. Service was very good.

It was slow and bad service a jug of water took 45 minutes I’ve been waiting 2 hours for my food and it’s not even busy the menu had very limited options and my food just got here and my order is wrong

We had not visited this excellent restaurant for several months, but decided to go for lunch. The menu had changed and has excellent range of choices in taste and price. Why has the owner not displayed it on the website ? A missed opportunity to increase footfall.

Absolutely brilliant food and experience. Highly recommend. Service was exceptional, even giving us free dishes to try! I would go as far as to say this is my second favourite Indian restaurant in the country (see Pakwaan review for the No1).

Love this place, I have been many times before and always had a good experience. Tonight, we went with the Chefs specials and what a good choice that was. The waiter suggested sides to compliment them and he got it spot on! This restaurant really had authentic Indian food. Quality ingedients and such a lovely cosy atmosphere. Excellent authentic Indian cuisine with high quality ingredients - chicken taka taka was exceptional as was the seafood and vegetable dishes. Attentive staff and excellent management. Will definitely be back.

We were advised in our choices and it was excellent: the spices were exciting, there was just excellence in all details, whether popadums, each dish of the main, the drinks, dessert & coffee. The atmosphere is warm and the staff so welcoming and helpful throughout the evening.

We came here for Christmas Day lunch as two of us are vegetarians and love Indian food. This is one of the few Indian restaurants where I will go to eat curry as it is not my most favourite cuisine. However, they cook really delicious and flavoursome dishes and I am always happy to eat there. Both my companions, one of whom is of Indian heritage, really rated this restaurant and ordered a great variety of dishes I personally would not have understood or chosen. I certainly did not miss turkey in the least!

On the whole the food was good especially my lamb dish but the lack of vegetarian options was slightly concerning .

Love this place and so did all of our friends. Child friendly on a Friday evening with great staff as always who do all they can to cater for some very childish pallets amongst the adults. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Highly recommended. This restaurant serves subtly spiced, delicious food. It is superior to the usual Bangladeshi dishes served in most " Indian " restaurants. Went to this place as a last-minute decision! They staff were lovely and managed to fit my group of 4 in without a booking. Lovely food, fast service. Would highly recommend eating here.

Return visit for lunch with a girlfriend, after way too long! Everything superb, from welcome, to food, service, ambience and cleanliness of the restaurant. I couldn't recommend Thyme and Chillies more highly to anyone who enjoys quality Indian cuisine at an exceptional price.

We had a perfect lunch this Sunday . Very delicious chef special prawn balchao. The curries was absolutely delectable. Wonderful meal really nice atmosphere lovely setting. Good menu and helpful staff also brilliant service. Very relaxing.Highly recommended and looking forward to our next visit.

Great location, a converted pub so it has a bit of an old English / Indian fusion atmosphere. We ordered starters (samosa chaat) and mains (daal, biriyani) and for me personally the food all seemed a bit mild and shall we say accustomed to western palate… for me the dishes didn’t feel authentic and felt quite modified. I would have preferred a bit more of a kick across all the dishes. But generally the dishes were well-cooked and very nicely presented.

We have been coming to this restaurant for several years and have celebratory takeaways for birthdays and even Christmas. Tonight, my husband treated us to a takeaway for my birthday. Little did we know that the menu had changed. Yet on ordering over the phone, the person taking my order didn’t stop me to say the item I was ordering (from a previous menu) was not on the menu. We only found this out on picking up the food and we’re told that it was ‘close to.’ I find this unacceptable to not allow the customer the choice to pick their own dishes, but assume they’d be happy with whatever the restaurant decided. I made a really tasty aloo gobi, yet the one we bought from here was again flavourless. What has happened to the restaurant we’ve relied on? Disappointingly, the replacement chicken dish was bland and sour as was the ripe mango curry which has always been a sweet, rich dish. Today it was bland and watery - without the rich flavour its had before. A restaurant we have lived and supported for years is now a restaurant we can’t go back to. So so disappointed.

Absolutely amazing food! Being Indian myself I thought the food was very authentic and tasty. We are on holiday and craved home cooked food which is exactly what we got. The place is a lovely setting and spotlessly keen. The ambience was ruined by staff talking loudly between the restaurant and kitchen area which suggests they are not concerned with the customers experience and enjoyment (very noticeable as it was fairly quiet). The food was just ok, we wouldn't return or recommend unfortunately.

After being let down by our hotels menu, we were welcomed into thyme and chillies. It’s possible the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to so far. Lourenco and Antonio were so accommodating. 100% recommend eating here

Very disappointed with staff attitude this time. On 3 previous visits staff were very helpful and the chef prepared an allergy avoiding meal for one of us. This time not only did they absolutely refuse, we were told they we were wrong (so lying!) and they would never have done so. So we had to take out our other meals and cook at home for one. It was their attitude that means we won't be returning.

We had the lunch menu which was 3 couse. You can pick from a limiter menu. My wife really liked all her dishes. I tasted her onion pakore which was nice. For my starter I picked the amrirsari machu which I found very bland. It was fish in a gramflour batter but I could not taste any flavours in this dish.
