My wife has been here several times, my first but not last visit. Huge space upstairs to sit and chat had the breakfast roll which was spot on and great coffee. Lovely place Update, still coming for coffee still great 👍

I love this place! Great atmosphere and amazing cakes baked by Meg. Cooked breakfast is excellent. Very busy place, expect longer waits during peak periods.

One of my favourite cafes anywhere, situated in a fine old building in the centre of town. Sensibly the interior remains much as it was when it used to be a hardware store and is all the more impressive for it, with a long counter and plenty of seating on the ground and upper floor. Breakfast are terrific although i suspect one of the main reasons for customers visiting are the fabulous cakes, made by the owner, 'Meg Queen of Cakes', as described by The Sunday Times. Meg and her staff are delightful and I always enjoy my visits.

Superb superb SUPERB cakes! The Bakewell slice... So almondy, so jammy, so frangipani and gooey icing on top. The scones.... with a hint of vanilla knocking about. The Rocky Road (Ffordd Cregiau!) - so much chocolate and biscuitty goodness Nice big mugs of tea too.

Friendly helpful, attentive staff. A properly big full breakfast with excellent quality products, well cooked, served hot and thoroughly delicious. The desserts/cakes also looked amazing but there wasn't any pudding space left in me after the breakfast/brunch. this does give me the perfect excuse to revisit the place though. :) Lovely place, delightful staff, excellent food, definitely worth a visit or two!

Popped in here Thursday afternoon after a very long hike with my fiancé. It's a very quirky place and the staff are very friendly. We managed to get a seat in 'the snug' which was a lovely private seating area with a sofa. I had a bakewell slice & cuppa which was lovely and my partner had the full breakfast which he was impressed with especially the quality of the bacon. We would return here again if passing through Dolgellau.

Fantastic breakfast, everything was cooked perfectly with quality ingredients, staff were attentive, very nice vibe. Coffee and tea were spot on.

Lovely quirky coffee shop with amazing cakes. Fabulous homemade carrot cake and lovely honeycomb cheesecake. Large portions - you have been warned! Had great fun swapping banter with Meg and her team. Have been back twice already. We did rather cheekily ask if amongst all the excellent homemade cakes and pies Meg had any 'proper' cakes like those produced by Mr Kipling.... And were shocked when some were fetched from the back and delivered with a sarcastic comment and a wink. For those who like a bit of banter, you'll find your match in Meg!

Very nice cafe. THE BEST IN TOWN!!! staff were wonderful and friendly. They were all happy. Cafe had it's quirks but I like the old style cafés. Food was really good quality. If I'm ever on the area would definitely go again. Cheesecakes are beautiful and tasty.

Lovely place to go for a cake. But don't bother ordering a breakfast. If took over 40 minutes to arrive. No apologies from any of the staff. To make matters worse, a member of staff asked me if I would like a knife and fork with my breakfast? What else was I supposed to use!

Best poached eggs in Doll! We love poached eggs on toast and if the eggs are runny and the toast is dripping in butter then wonderful and this lovely place served it all perfectly. Great service by a very well organised team too

Lovely food had a full breakfast and a scrambled egg on toast. Not quick but well worth the wait. Had an italian Depth Charge to drink loved it so bought another. Place itself is welcoming, quirky with pleasant staff.

All the character that is missing from so many places is present in the building, furnishings, food, drinks, cakes and not least in the staff. Check out up- and downstairs, plus the manager's office. There are a number of other cafes & bakers in the village that are well worth a visit, each with their own take on food and drink. I didn't spot a single franchise.

A cafe that looks unassuming from the outside, but is fabulous on the inside. Fabulous tea and coffee. Homemade cakes. Plus breakfasts, rarebit, etc. Friendly helpful staff.

Quirky setting with a large and varied menu which justifies making repeat visits! The breakfasts are generous (with a few portion size options) and will satisfy meat-eaters and veggies alike - the veggie sausages are a worth a try, being vegetable-based rather than 'fake meat'. There is a massive range of cakes, with more being baked in-house throughout the day. Coffees are good, and smoothies and milkshakes are a refreshing alternative. The building is unique, and there's plenty to look at while you wait for your order to be prepared. The owners welcome guests taking photos, but ask them to consider donating to the RNLI to support the local Coastguard - a nice touch. Service is friendly and good-humoured, suited to dealing with the mix of tourists, cyclists and locals who can't stay away. Thanks for keeping us fuelled up on our visit to Dolgellau :)

Was passing through Dolgellau and just had to drop in for a coffee and flapjack. As always excellent service and lovely coffee and cake. Prices reflect the quality. One of my favourite cafes in North Wales. I cut two stars for atmosphere as it would be 100% if the staff spoke Welsh.

I think this is the best cafe I've ever been to. Incredible cakes (& cheesecakes!) set in a lovely, characterful building. And upstairs is a huge warehouse-full of comfy sofas to relax in!

This is a five stars place without any doubt. The atmosphere is unique and the Welsh food is superb. I had a Sunday breakfast with my family and we all had a great experience

Great service, coffee and food!

A great place to relax with a brew and watch the world go by. The coffee was excellent with depth and flavour. The staff we encountered were polite and friendly. The lady who took our order clearly had a mischievous sense of humour. Many thanks for making our visit memorable.

Called in for the first time in ages (just too busy to have enough “me time”) , and it did not disappoint . Meg is an absolute legend that I have respected for many years . Tasty, home prepared savouries - great baguette and panini - and oh my life the Biscoff cheesecake to share ! Absolutely divine ! Supper many hours later was a takeaway TH cheese scone which is a must !!! - oh….and I liked the look of the Bakewell slice so bought one to go ……..Meg this was Absolutely delicious ! Ate half tonight and saving the other half for tomorrow ….(have hidden if from the kids !!!). Thank you for everything that you do to provide warmth, hospitality , and loads of banter in a dog friendly bustling and incredibly fab environment …..and the most amazing home cooked food . Just perfect !

Lovely relaxed cafe for breakfast. Great choice of cooked options or croissants and cakes. Lots of seating available downstairs and upstairs on tables or comfy sofas. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Cooked breakfasts were hearty and very tasty. Coffee was great. Perfect place to spend a rainy morning!

Always a pleasant experience to visit the "Queen of cakes" If you're ever passing, call in. Megs cakes are simply the best and the breakfasts are outstanding

I only ever write reviews for places that are utterly amazing or that are jaw droppingy awful: in order to help good businesses and extract the Mickey from dumps. Straightforward you might think.... until now! Been going to TH Roberts for many years - regular holidays to the Mawddach area. This place is so WONDERFUL that I almost thought of giving it 1 star so that when I go it can be really quiet instead of busy . Thus enabling the amazing chef to provide the gorgeous breakfast bap ( veggie OR meaty) and the brilliant barista the delish coffee as quickly as possible. Thus enabling me to wolf it down and then quickly follow it up with another coffee and some of the flippin' AMAZING baking. Whoever baked the chocolate peanut granola thing I had this morning should be recommended for some sort of medal - maybe for services beyond the call of duty to General Life Enjoyment and Taste Bud Ultra-Tickling? In case I haven't made myself clear this place is rather good. It might just be the best cafe in Dolgellau/Gwynedd/Wales/The Universe. Please don't go, but if you must at least leave a table free for me.

We had a fabulous lunch here yesterday. The quiche was the best I've ever had and the Welsh Rarebit, which my niece had, was amazing and they do not stint on portions. The staff were great. My niece and husband were over from Canada and were really thrilled with this restaurant.

A coffee and cake stop which was fantastic. The best variety of cakes I’ve ever seen. The Bakewell cheesecake was outstanding. This is worth a long drive, to visit! The shop is quaint. I couldn’t rectmore highly.

Love this place. Dogs allowed. Lots of comfy sofas and chairs upstairs. Food fantastic. When will I ever get to taste the legendary Lemon Meringue Pie?

We visited the week of 31/7/23 we enjoyed about 3 hours, I love tea ☕ chose my favourite lapsang Souchong a nice smokey flavour and they have a great selection of other teas and coffees, it's busy all the time and a very relaxed atmosphere, they have a huge area upstairs for seating with a mix of old sofas, chairs, tables etc, it's great to sit and read a book without a barista smashing the coffee grinds out every 2 minutes, the staff are very positive and busy very busy, if you want to chill and chat this is definitely the place, the homemade cakes and and food is really nice with portions enough to choke a donkey, there's plenty of space downstairs too in the shop area it is a hub in the village and I can go on about the food excellent, or the choice of tea, coffee, dairy free milks, dairy free lattes for the kids, and the prices are affordable/reasonable, the toilet is clean and also the tables are quickly cleared and cleaned, there's plenty of room to chill out and have a conversation without feeling like someone is listening, my only downsides are the building inside and out do need painting and the window display looks like the same one as 12 months ago and there's also a fine collection of dead wasps on the window sill upstairs which I found amusing 😆 and only a single toilet but don't let that put you off, having said that if it does put you off there's a Costa in the Spar shop enjoy, please use cash and tip the staff support a friendly business with nearly 20 years of being in the village (I seem to have lost my photos 😭 I took, so here's the only one I have left)

If you like the old style book shop, library with the smells and tastes of fabulous homemade cakes and fresh cooked food. You'll love to visit here, it's so worth the trip.

We came here last year and loved it so happily drove from portmadog for cake. It’s a rainy day so it was busy but we managed to get seats apart and then move into a table together which was ok once waiting staff had clocked the move. Teens had carrot cake chocolate brownie and strawberry smoothies . Black coffee and custard slice and cappuccino with something amazing cake wise but I can’t remember what is was but will never forget the experience. Highly recommend Lovely old shop interior Friendly staff See you next time x

The greatest tea shop in the UK in my opinion

Nice place. Interesting decor. Didn’t eat but the cakes looked great. Coffee. Nice but not amazing. Only thing is that the place looked and smelt like it needed a really deep clean. Shut it down for a day. Get all the nick nacks down and give it a good dust.

Going shopping in Dolgellau, stopped off again at TH Roberts coffee shop just off the main square for late morning cafe latte and gluten free cheesecake - both were excellent. Ordered downstairs and both were promptly brought upstairs to our comfy seats - much quieter upstairs. Highly recommended - if you are ever near Dolgellau.

TH Roberts is just brilliant. Cakes are homemade, breakfast fantastic and cooked to perfection. For lunch, the steak baguette was generous in size and delicious. Coffee is of good quality and home roasted. Great hospitality, no pressure to leave, dog friendly, the friendliness of staff commendable. We love it

This was such a lovely, friendly and quirky place to eat. So relaxing with an abundance of huge sofas and soft comfortable chairs, we could have stayed all day! Super friendly staff and excellent service, highly recommend a visit 😊

My mum lives nearby to here but I live in London, and coming to TH Roberts is the absolute #1 essential thing I have to do every time I visit. I've not failed yet, and they've not failed me. I ALWAYS get a dessert - I'm the biggest cheesecake fan and Meg's creations are unmatched, but the cakes, flapjacks and brownies have also never failed me. The Welsh Rarebit is my favourite I've had in Wales. Their Welsh Breakfast is also fantastic. The staff are AMAZING. Always wonderful. Always speedy. And the venue tops it all off. I love bringing my friends here and seeing their eyes light up and their bellies happy.

Fantastic cafe in an interesting setting, only disappointment was seeing the guy behind the counter sneeze into his hands then immediately carry on putting tea bags into someone's mugs...

Original decor, independent. Friendly staff. Great choice of cakes. I love a piece of carrot cake so had that, it was great and good portion size. I also had a Chamomile tea, very good.

This is an historic building and the owners maintain it well. The staff are helpful and efficient. In addition the food is top class and the quality and variety of the cakes is extraordinary. If you are visiting Dolgellau this is the place to visit and you can bring your dog to the café.

Great little coffee shop and cafe serving homemade food and delicious cakes. It’s dog friendly which we love. Set in an old pharmacy it has such wonderful character and a unique style. So many things to look at while you’re waiting.

Super friendly old fashioned (in a good way) coffee shop. Huge selection of home made cakes, biscuits etc. We were warmly welcomed after a days walking. We ordered 4 cakes/biscuits for a family of 4. They were huge so we couldn’t eat them all. Massive...

We found this gem of a place as a stopover on our way to a farm house we rebted with friends for the Bank Holiday, and oh my, we're we glad we did!!! The food was so good, cakes are to die for and all homemade, w head to buy so many slices to share because we couldn't decide on what to have!! The service was impeccable...we went there as a group of 4 adults, 1 teenager and 6 kids ranging from 1 Yr to 9 yrs old....it was chaos but the owner of the place couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating if they tried. If I could give them 20 out of 10 I would!!! The place is very quirky and has a wonderful, relaxing Ed atmosphere. It's the sort of place you could go to on your own and read a book or do soem work and cluld happilybstay there fir hours, drinking coffee and eating delicious food! Definitely go there if you are around here, it’s worth a stopover for sure!!

My husband and I visited the café a few days ago for brunch and it was amazing! Cakes are incredible, especially the lemon meringue pie! I had the sausage bap and this was equally delicious. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Definitely recommend :)

We were travelling from mid Wales to Angelsey and found this wonderful bakery / cafe. As always important to me is dog friendly and it is ! We were shown into the 'snug' and we were able to keep the dogs away from every one because they are nosey. We all had a breakfast it was wonderful. Hot and very tasty.we bought cakes for later on very pleased with the quality of the food and the service
