Not often do you go in a pub and experience such a high standard of freshly home cooked food. Not only that the menu was refreshing in its imagination and variety.Generous portion beautifully presented and piping hot and at unbelievable prices.As we only wanted a snack we both had the nachos - so glad we shared . Home cooked nachos , big bowl of chilli and cheese sauce for only £4.95 . Coming back tomorrow now to try out Sunday lunch!!

Cheap for drinks but smelled of disinfectant and very dull, tired surroundings. Friendly staff and good service. A large dog moved from one seat to another...surely not allowed in a food place? Real spit and sawdust place. Plenty of parking and shops across the road.

Myself and husband stopped at this restaurant today and our expectations was fully met.the roast dinner we had was undoubtedly the best we have had.the staff were so polite and professional.i would recommend this eatery to all our family and friends whenever they were in the area the hosts were very welcoming.

Popped in after our sad spa night and had a roast before going home. Was absolutely lovely and plenty of it (too much if I’m honest) . Great prices too. Great warm atmosphere . Next time I’m in Clacton-on-Sea I’ll definitely be back

After months of saying no to doing christmas dinner,Steve,Dee and there amazing staff gave in and put on a lovely christmas dinner. The atomsphere was briliant the food excellent,as usall.Nothing was to much trouble Thank you for giving up your christmas day to make ours, definately be in very soon for dinner.

Staff, food and venue 10/10! Always enjoy our food here from Sunday lunches to Friday night menu. Always hot fresh tasty meals. Absolutely recommend.

Fabulous restaurant. Food always excellent with ample servings and always hot. My favourite place for a roast on Sundays. Had yet another lovely meal on Friday. 4 adults all had different meals and all of us very happy. Staff all very friendly so Thankyou to you all.

We came here for Sunday lunch I had the beef and my friends had the Lamb shanks in mkint gravy The food was really lovely and well cooked it was very hot A good choice of menus will defo go again

My family and I are new to the area and wanted to find out what our local pub was like so I read the reviews on here and was apprehensive about visiting as there have been some not very good reviews but I am so pleased we did. We went on a Thursday on their steak night best steak i have had in a very long time cooked to perfection. Staff were exceptionally friendly nothing was to much trouble. We then decided to pop in today sunday afternoon (10/11/19) to see what the atmosphere was like I can honestly say I had the best afternoon I have had in a long time they had a live singer singing all the old songs for rememberance day pub was very busy great atmosphere people were up dancing it was just lovely. They had a meat raffle which you could have won joints of meat or for second prize a breakfast hamper. Unfortunately I did not win but for £1 a go have to be in it to win it. They was serving roast dinners that smelt Devine but as we had the dog we did not think we could dine but the staff said we could eat in the bar area. Again another wonderful meal all fresh vegetable and finally a place that has PROPER roast potatoes NOT aunt Bessies! Would highly recommend this place not sure if these people leaving bad reviews went to the same place as I could not fault anything. thankfully our new local is fantastic :)

Went in to have a drink... my 4 year old daughter wanted to use the toilet and staff litteraly locked me in the toilet while my daughter was outside saying we couldn't use the bathroom they became verbally abusive and even assaulted me! The police had to be called this is the worse bar in jaywick avoid if you don't want your kids to witness you being threatened and assaulted!

Have now visited 3 times in 2 months food always great minimal wait ..but do book for sunday lunch its busy

Come here today not been here be for never been to the beach. See the pub looked ok from out side. the pub was not that busy just local people. The staff seem friendly ordered the food quite quick service. we had ham egg and chips and beans. The chips were okay cooked well the ham was very discoloured old looking and not very tasty did not taste fresh so was the eggs was not very fresh. The ham was very very discoloured and was not fresh at all did not make a point to the staff as there would have been no point so left most of the food on the plate had our drinks and left. I would have to say I would not be coming back to this pub again if I’m in that area yes the decor was very nice the pub looked like it’s been done up but would not be coming back in the near future.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary with friends here on a Friday night, we had fish and chips and it was great.

This place will definitely be getting a body swerve from us in the future.

Visited here with a large group of friends, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. We didn't wait long for our freshly cooked meals, which were delicious and plentiful. I had the cod and chips which were really nice , the batter on the fish was lovely and light. The only disappointment was my dessert , I opted for the 'apple and BlackBerry crumble' . I was given something which consisted of a pastry base covered with a tiny amount of 'jam?' No fruit present, it had a layer on top of 'crumble' perhaps? Certainly not homemade and had a chemical sort of taste.

Well I have to say I had a wonderful Sunday lunch, food was all fresh, good portions and excellent prices. Staff very very friendly, nice relaxed atmosphere... I will be returning for sure!

I come down to Jay wick at least once a year for the last 4 years to house sit for my sister,the 3J is the nearest pup to her house,over the years there have been changes the latest landlord has really made

As we have moved to jaywick we decided to try out the local facilities. The Three Jays pub is within walking distance of our house and, as we had heard good things about their food, we decided to give it a try. The food was excellent with generous portions, well cooked and the service was admirable. I would heartly recomend the palce to antone.

I had my birthday party at this lovely venue last weekend with about 30 of my friends plus the friendly locals. The entertainment that night was the duo Maggsy and Lisa Bridge who were magnificent. The landlord Steve and his staff were very welcoming and the buffet provided was excellent value. The size of the bar area was great for the amount of people there who wanted a bit of singing and dancing. I would highly recommend this pub.

We went for Sunday lunch and both had the roast dinner, one beef and one turkey. The standard of service, cleanliness, food and value was so much better than at the carvery restaurant at the other end of the road in Clacton. This pub was recently taken over and has been refurbished to a high level of decor, the new owners and staff are very friendly and do a good job. Oh, and the beer's good !

Thursday night is grill night at the three jays, they have a good selection of grills which between my husband and me we have worked our way through and everyone of them were cooked to perfection. The restaurant has had a complete makeover and is really nice, staff very attentive and nice music playing in the background. I would highly recommend it for a nice evening out with excellent food.

Had a family party down the three jays and it couldn’t have gone any better well looked after .landlords has gone all out with the refurb. I would totally recommend this pub

This place is having a total revamp, we popped in today and was very surprised how nice it is now and the new landlord is going full steam ahead with the interior, toilets, bar etc, they will be serving bar snacks and meals very shortly, parking is not a problem, fast friendly service, pool table, live music , well worth a visit

Since the new management took over the three jays the atmosphere is great the staff are friendly the pub has been cleaned throughout and re painted in far better colours it’s all together very welcoming the food offered is very good and the new landlord tells me they have big plans for the place so watch this space well done guys

we had our pensioners Christmas lunch this week. 3 course meal + coffe and mincepies all for £15 great thank you to all the staff.

We took my wife's friends mother here last Sunday as she lives in Jaywick and used to enjoy going here with her late husband. Being a bit of a snob at times, ordinarily I would have drove by this place judged on its external appearance. My advice would be to give it a try. The service was really good from the minute we arrived right until we left.

My in-laws live in Jaywick and we were camping in Colchester so we popped in on the bank holiday Monday and took them for lunch. Good atmosphere inside, typical British pub fayre with very reasonable prices and good quality food, could not fault it.

Went for the first time last week. The food was very good and homemade. The service was good and the price of the food was very reasonable. The decor in the pub was good. I would recommend this pub.

I have started to go there quite regularly on a Saturday. It is cheap but very good. Good menu choice as well.

Vivimos localmente y utilizar este pub regularmente, el personal siempre es amable, gran ambiente, un montón de pub concursos para música en vivo. Noches bistec son excepcionales, pero tienes que reservar con antelación, donde puede conseguir carne por £5. También para grupos grandes. Recomiendo este pub a cualquiera que quiera una buena comida y una buena compañía. Probar a ser sorprendidos.

Only been in on Sundays for a roast. Go regularly when we're in Clacton. Best roast we've found in Clacton.

Lovely pub with great landlord and landlady, lots of atmosphere and genial people, liked the atmosphere and the people,

this is a really impressive public house. the hosts are wonderful people dedicating all their time to helping all the local charities and entertaining all there patrons regarding all ages there is something going on everyday good cheap meals and fine ales there is a great garden and swings slides etc for the children a must for families to visit

A varied menu and good price. sometimes seems slow on service but food freshly cooked so to be expected. Good for visitors and regulars

Had my wedding reception here to start off was a lovely day had sit down meal on arrival was served great food in good time every one was happy come early evening once later guests had arrived every one was getting hungry and having to buy crisps from the bar. buffet was arranged for 6pm ish once I realised it was almost 8pm I waited at the bar for fifteen mins for staff to end up finding the one bar staff chatting out side after politely asking if she was still working to which her reply was ... Yeah why! I asked if we could have the buffet and just got told it was on the bar and to get it ourselves . Had arranged for £150 buffet which we were told was payable on the day to which would have been payed at the same time as the DJ in the early afternoon but managers were no where to be seen. There were 6 small trays of sandwiches, 1 small tray of sausage rolls, 1 small tray of chicken, 2 small bowls of cocktail sausages nothing more or less. But before finding this out we thought we would cut the cake before the photographer finished which can I add was amazing ! Right in the middle of cutting cake the manager appeared from know where pushed past guests which one of was heavily pregnant and shouted out in front of guests and my children " move move move get out my way if you want your buffet your all going to have to get out my way the buffet you have not even payed for yet" he then stormed back round to the other bar. I have never felt so embarrassed and upset in my life! The photos of us cutting our cake tell the whole story and the look on my children faces in the photos I will never forget. After confronting management and asking how they could do this to us they were nowhere to be seen to be payed we were told it has nothing to do with the money and was told he had said this because all our guests which was over 100 had apparently been rude to his 1 member of staff that he had working on our side of the bar. So we left it at that as we did not want it to ruin our wedding and after putting £200 on the table we walked away to put the buffet on the tables the amount of food was a joke and was gone in 20 mins. A hour later after being asked by a member of my family the manager came to apologise and explained that it was a misunderstanding on his behalf and his 1 member of staff that had been working had been sent home for exaggerating about our guests and blamed it on the fact that she's only 17 so a bit immature. absolutely disgusted! Luckily for us the DJ was amazing and pulled it back from the brink ended up a great night no thanks to management

I came on a holiday for a family wedding, it was a good day and seemed a nice place and staff seemed nice untill the couple were cutting their cake and the manager came up to them infront of everyone and was very rude. Poor managerial skills and customer service. And for what they paid the buffet it was embarrassing. Also drink prices were put up through night.!!

They were very helpful food was just great and plenty of it so much for the kids to play on as well we have told everyone how good it was

Don't be put off by this pubs area, it is a lovely family run pub with delicious food. The decor inside is very nice and clean. You don't get any wrong ens wandering in everyone always seems nice and friendly!!!

We eat here regularly. The food is excellent and the pub is a lovely friendly place.We've had huge meals for less than £10.00 for 2 of us!Highly recommended.

The food here is AMAZING! Low prices but great value and incredibly tasty, big portions. Staff are lovely and very polite and helpful. The locals are friendly too...not one of those pubs where only locals are welcome. Highly recommended!

The food is excellent, however, we arrived late in the afternoon on our way back to Suffolk, they obviously had not been very busy that day and we felt we were "putting them out" by asking for food. We felt a little awkward to say the least. However, food was great, beer was good and the price was cheap!

Went here, en route, to Brightlingsea and found this Pub, opposite a small supermarket, calledPremier and a Bookies (also, called Premier!) -The dining area is near the toilets; but please do not be put off. The ladies, I used, was cleanand semi-disabled friendly.Lots of choice on the menu and proudly states "home-made".We choose the home-made Steak and Ale Pie and Scampi, with Tartare; served with chips(of course!), salad and peas.We could not believe the huge portions that arrived for us. How this Pub can prepare thisfood in such large quantity, for such a little price, is amazing. Surely, their profit margin issmall? They seem to employ wonderfully friendly Staff, who nothing is too much troublewhich is another bonus point.Would we go back. Of course!
