I am a regular and always have the same thing, mussels are beautiful. Food is outstanding and I cannot fault it, never had a bad meal. The prices are fantastic as well. Best mussels around by far!

Delicious food, great portion sizes and they even split the dirty fries for us so our veggie friends could enjoy them! Best Mac n cheese balls we’ve ever had!

Had a lunch in the garden here and a takeaway (written during Covid restrictions) . The staff are the most helpful and friendliest I've found in Dorset . They kept their ale bang on and the food was good and not decent value. Highly recommend !

We tried this based on reviews and it was a good decision . The service was very good, friendly and not too distant. The food was exemplary. One flat iron steak and one fish and chips went down a storm. Absolutely recommend

We’ve been meaning to go for Sunday lunch for some time but not easy to get in to! Booked 10 days in advance and just got in. BUT so worth it. We shared the starter of salt/pepper squid. Really great textures and taste. More than enough to share before the enormous main Sunday roastWe had the pork and the beef. The pork was perfectly cooked. Still moist. Perfect served with THE best crackling. The very slow cooked beef was pink, juicy and tender. Great roasties, the biggest Yorkie I’ve ever seen and a superb individual pot of cauliflower cheese that despite not being my wife’s favourite, was devoured in seconds!! The other veg were extremely varied, nice but too many different ones. ( I’m being v picky). All washed down by a lovely pint of IPA and a well priced decent NZ Pinot Noir. Great service on top, attentive without being over the top, but all covid safe. Well done. Just to say they do a fantastic takeaway of this lunch ( plus other stuff) but for £12-14 each it’s great value.

Absolutely delicious meal for our first date night after lock down. Hannah and her team are so friendly and felt very Covid secure. The food was AMAZING. The Fritto Misto is the best starter I’ve ever had and the most delicious fillet steak to follow - cooked to perfection! We sent our friends the following evening and they loved it too! Can’t wait to come back very soon *****

Have had takeaway from herr nearly every week in November. Every one has been faultless. The chicken nasi goreng is amazing! Totally addicted and hope it appears on your menu for evermore. Thank you

Visited for a quick family lunch when staying in local area, very COVID-19 friendly, everything was done to make you feel clean and as covid safe as you can so a big tick in that box. Good menu with a wide selection, I ordered a falafel flatbread and was happily accommodated to change my choice of sides (normally fries or a cup of soup) to a side salad that was fresh and crisp. Visited with 2 children (aged 8 & 4) who happily shared a hake goujon sandwich and fries and my husband had a steak flatbread and fries, all very well presented and delicious. Only the kids wanted dessert so ordered a chocolate brownie (the best I’ve EVER tasted!) and an apple crumble which was superb. All in all great food, but I have to say it’s a very busy and obviously popular place to dine, we got lucky booking a lunch table as dinner was fully booked for 3 weeks and they’re only open 12-3 in the daytime but well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Have had several meals here. Food has always been good and enjoyable whether in the bar or the resturant. Seafood is especially good. Staff are helpful and friendly. Sunday lunch is a really enjoyable experience.

Sunday lunch today was the stuff of dreams - my husband had the roast beef and my daughter the children’s portion of roast chicken. Both of which were of the highest quality we have had for a very long time. I had the mussels (a gamble on a Sunday) but they too were sublime. All the staff were polite and efficient and their COVID Measures are well placed without robbing you of a normal experience.Can’t wait to go back...

As always the best of Food, Service and Friendliness. The food is really good, if you don’t want a large meal, go for the £5 dishes on the daily menu, they are all like tapas. The best in our opinion is the duck rolls. They are the best ever, even better than in Singapore. Still not had room to try the puddings, maybe one day. Palmers beers are good too.

This pub is one of Dorset’s best for food. I went there with a friend who owns a couple of restaurants at his recommendation, what else can we say. The mussels are really good and my lamb was delicious and super tender. Great value.

Apparently the pub won second place in the UK for pub food ... I'd like to eat at the winner. Lovely location, really good food very reasonably priced & superb staff. Very good wine list also very reasonable

Stopped by here for lunch and didn’t regret it at all. The sandwiches were delicious and the soups ahh just fantastic . Nice and relax and service was good too

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch last week. Party of six, dog welcome, and really good food. Starters included scallops which were excellent. Mains included excellent roast dinners and a massive dish of mussels which were lovely. Service was very good and we would all happily return.

We had lunch here this week during a short break in Dorset. We haven't really been anywhere since March but felt confident The Three Horseshoes had things in place to make it feel safe and it really did. Everything was so well organised that we felt completely at ease. The food was delicious (soup, sandwiches). What drew us here was the Bitterballen - our son lives in Amsterdam and we haven't been able to visit so being able to have this Dutch classic was a lovely link to him. And they were truly excellent. The staff were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. I wish we lived closer so we could go back again.

Staying in West Bay, walked to the 3 horseshoes, been before so knew what to expect.Compliant with all track n trace. Sunday was busy happy to sit outside in lovely garden with dogs.Waitress team were excellent very efficient and friendly. They coped with a grumpy rude customer very politely.The roast was brilliant but deserts we found very overpriced and disappointing, this must be where they make their profit!We returned on a wet Wednesday, 2 excellent flat iron steaks, cooked perfectlyGreat cheese board, but very poor pavlova also overpriced.Can see why it’s so busy, will return.

We came here to meet friends for a Sunday lunch. One of the best roast dinners we’ve had out in a while, well presented, cooked beautifully, good quality food and great service. If in the area again we will return for a Sunday roast!

Didnt book ahead, but we tried, got warned that we had a small window of opportunity and we gambled and glad we did.Even though they were very busy we were very well looked after from start to finish.All the covid precautions in place as you would expect. Both wine and food menus understated the drink and food itself which were gorgeous. The house chardonnay was delicious. I tried the scallops to start and fish curry as main. Both great.All in all a great evening and would highly recommend (try and book ahead).One very small personal thought is that the plastic chairs in the garden look slightly out of place, but that's just me.

Well organised and very COVID aware with good social distancing. Good food, we enjoyed the lamb rump, mackerel fillets and sea food curry. An enjoyable relaxed dining experience.

We had dinner here one evening and after my lips cooled down from the fish curry we went back a few days later for lunch in the garden. Fish and chips here were excellent. Service in the garden was prompt and cheerful. Recommended.

Visited Chesil Beach area for 3 nights. Ate out at the Three Horseshoes every day. Fabulous beef burgers and apple crumble. Friendly staff. A very popular spot this lovely pub. Very well recommended indeed.

Delicious gastro food worth the money. We went for a family lunch time meal. We had a 40 min wait for the food but it was worth it. We had slow cooked duck leg, burgers, pork belly and all of it was cooked to perfection. Came away feeling content after such an enjoyable family meal. Can’t wait to visit again

We managed to get a table outside for drinks on a Friday afternoon and for food on a Saturday afternoon. Really good service and yummy food. Good kids menu too. We had to go inside to pay and none of the staff were wearing masks and it was very small and busy. Saw them cleaning tables outside and sanitiser was available.

Exactly what you want a great country pub to be. Good local ales. Super food selection with a little adventure for those less keen on the usual staples. Excellent and attentive staff And all very well considered in light of CV19 behaviours.

Food was amazing I can recommend the whole menu as between us we had nearly every dish. The service was exceptional and staff couldn’t have been any more helpful even helping out with a recommendation for another restaurant for Sunday roast as they were fully booked for the next couple of weeks.

We stopped by on the off chance of an early dinner for our small children, and what a lovely meal it was. The social distancing measures were excellent and we all felt very safe. It was table service so people weren't wandering around and each table deep cleaned between customers. The food was delicious and the waiting staff helpful and friendly. The childrens meals were brought out first which is always very much appreciated. The adult meals were delicious. Thank you very much for a lovely dinner.

Booked a table for a treat during our holiday.Any concern’s about cleanliness, self distancing were not needed.Table’s comfortably placed, disposable menu’s which were disposed off when table was cleared unlike other pub we had visited week before.Service was a little slow, but they were extremely busy, and to be honest we were not in a hurry.Food was delicious, although a few items on the menu were not available.Also part of Eat out to help out, so an added bonus.Would highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

We celebrated my mother’s 92nd birthday - it couldn’t have been lovelier. Food, wine and service all delivered with a smile. The variety of food was impressive along with the quality and the cooking. We simply had the best lunch in a long time anywhere in West Dorset. It made my Mother’s Day and it was my parents first visit to a restaurant since March - as they say “we chose wisely”!Totally recommend this place - our favourite place to eat out.

We called to book a table but were told it was fully booked, however the lady on the phone said we were more than welcome to turn up on the day and it’s first come first serve in the beer garden. We luckily managed to get a table when we arrived (it’s clearly a well known/popular pub as there were queues for tables outside)! The front of house staff were amazing. Very welcoming, friendly and efficient! The service was fast and the food was excellent... all plates on our table had not a scrap left, after 8 nights camping with the family in Bridport it was a perfect way to finish a lovely week with a roast dinner! A very dog friendly environment too. 100% recommend and we will be back :)

From the moment we walked in to the time we left we were made to feel very welcome. The staff in particular Tula and Nia were enchanting. The food was delicious.Attention to detail and very helpful offering us great advice regarding the choices. The vegetarian mains dish was delicious as too the started soup. I loved the mushroom and rice dish with an egg on top! The meal was certainly one of the best I have had. Definitely one to remember.Great value for money. Compliments to the chef too. Can fully understand why it has won awards.

Had Sunday twice on the latest visit to the area and both times it was stunning. Always visit this pub when in the area and it never disappoints, a must to visit!

Family get together, warm welcome with covid security well covered. Service started quick, slowed as numbers grew. Share several fish starters, delicious, mussels, and lamb for mains cheese and ice cream was all we could cope with for desserts. A lovely pub noted for a return visit.

My 9 year daughter has told me I had to write a great review for this pub!! Luckily I agree with her. Place is lovely. Nice decor inside, nice pub garden, pleasant smiley, happy staff and best of all amazing food!!! Enjoyed every bit. Service was a little slow, however totally understandable given the circumstances we are in and I think it was extra busy due to the Eat Out To Help Out scheme. It didn’t worry us though as happy to sit and chill and enjoy the place. Will certainly return one day.

Pretty pub with an excellent beer garden! Came here a couple of days ago for a drink with my partner and it was lovely to either sit out the front or in their garden at the back.

Our first visit to this pub, it was recommended to us by a local we met on one of our walks. Went the next day and we were both very impressed. Excellent covid measures in place. The food was very good and drinks very well priced. Lovely garden and excellent friendly service. Wish it was closer to where we live so we could return more frequently!

I have been coming here for almost 30 years when I am staying in Dorset. I have always received a warm welcome and the food has been consistently good over the years. Sunday lunch was excellent, really tasty and good value. The dessert was amazing and my son really enjoyed his kids meal. Thank you for taking such good care of us. I Would definitely recommend.

After previous failed attempts to book a table, when we were finally able to book in, it was easy to see why this pub is so popular. Welcome, food and service were all top class. Squid starters were awesome. Mains of moules/frites and surf and turf were extremely generous and desert was just the job. Great company and too much wine and beer!! Well done all at The Three Horseshoes, you have a very good thing going here.

We had to abandon our attempts to dine at Hive Beach. The queue was ridiculous and not social distanced. So we sped off to look elsewhere and found this place. Great rear garden, good beer and excellent food. Staff were excellent too. They had a clear COVID regime, it felt safe (it was our first time dining out since lockdown started).

We visited here on a weekend away based on the good reviews and we were not disappointed!I had the roast chicken, my husband the roast lamb. In my opinion, it was one of the nicest roast dinners I have had at a restaurant! Everything was delicious, generous portions and an enormous Yorkshire Pudding! Unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert!The staff were friendly too.Would highly recommend!

Tried to book a few a table for dinner but full - ordered 7 fish suppers to takeaway at a pre-agreed collection time - delicious hake, peas/mushy peas and perfect chips - they even provided a small bottle of ketchup. Highly recommend and hope to get a table when next in the area

Only had takeaways from here but the way they did it was very Covid19 safe. Food was really nice and good value for money.

Such a great atmosphere in the new era of covid regulations. Staff are well trained, test & trace App works well, lovely sheltered garden and the usual great food and drink. Booking essential inside. First come first served in garden and a few sun trap seats at the front. All in all a great pub that is working hard to keep staff and customers safe. Well done.

Fabulous food lunchtimes and evening. Friendly hard working staff. The garden area is lovely, plenty of tables with sun shades, excellent social distancing and plenty of hand sanitizer.

Been here several times and was very hopeful that it would be open after this dreadful covid time. Wonderfully it was. The day was kind so we tried the garden for the first time. Very pleasant garden and plenty of space. They were very careful about the procedures but not silly. Staff are really helpful and pleasant. We had a selection of starters. Their bread selection with tapenade, oil&balsamic and flavoured butter is truly outstanding. Of the others the fish misto and the calmars were great. The squid was perfectly cooked which always bodes well of a chef.

Visited on a Tuesday lunchtime, was busy but we managed to get a table in the restaurant, dogs allowed too. The coronovirus procedures were being followed in abundance. Hand sanitiser immediately upon arrival, one in one out rule with toilet usage, disposable menus, full table service and one way system in place. We all felt totally safe and very well protected. As for the food, we were blown away with all of our meals. I had mussels and others had veal slider burgers and fish and chips, the food and service was faultless and probably the best we have ever tasted. Thank you for making our visit to you so enjoyable, the best meal of our holiday.

I'm a big believer that customer service excellence will help pubs, restaurants, shops etc out of Corona Virus lockdown. The Three Horseshoes in Burton Bradstock offers the picturesque location, excellent food and high quality customer service in abundance. Thank you so much look forward to seeing you again soon.

Collected a takeaway Sunday Lunch with no difficulty (though they will deliver to those self-isolating)Their system was well organised and simple to operate- early ordering with card payment in advance, time slot given, arrive to collect, ring bell, collect meal at safe distance, take home and eat! And it was beautifully packaged, very hot, delicious And lots of it. Won’t hesitate to recommend-try it, it’s great!

We live locally and rumours of The Three Horseshoes being the place to eat are perfectly justified. We went as a group of four and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. We ate Pan Fried Duck Breast, Moule Mariniere and Indonesian Fish Curry followed by Treacle Tart, Apple Pie, Pavlova and Affogato. All this was top quality and nothing was left. Service was excellent and the pub was buzzing on a Monday night. The menu is just right with something for all palettes. For the time being this will be our “go to” place to eat!

Went on a wet Friday for lunch and got the last table. Food was fine although a little over fussy - too many cuisines attempted and only partially achieved. The bowl of soup was actually about two thirds of a bowl but the bread was good. Beer was good.I sense the Three Horsehoes is seen as a local gem, and it might be, but in terms of food it is very average. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

4 of us visited the Three Horse shoes yesterday for lunch after hearing about their great food & we were not disappointed if you get the chance I highly recommend visiting.

Met up with family half way house for us!!! Never been before but would definitely meet there again. Wonderful food and lovely atmosphere.

Food was excellent service was great staff friendly. Terrific country pub good beers and wines. Very clean loos and pub in general. Menu limited but hence the good food and quick service.

After seeing that this pub won Gold, I thought this review was necessary, as undoubtably the food was great! However the treatment of staff by management needs to be re-evaluated! Me and a group of friends came late Sunday lunch last month, to which we was all quite pleased with our lunch and service, we were sat by the window opposite the coffee machine, when the coffee machine started pouring out hot water to which all the waitresses got towels and informed customers( including our table) they was no longer able to make coffees, to which a very tall, angry chef came out and started shouting at the young waitress blaming her for the coffee machine breaking and being absolutely unreasonable, she looked very vulnerable and it caused massive tension between the other young waitresses, as they all looks rather upset afterwards! I’m guessing he must of thought better and shouted at them out of the public eye! I think for such a well rated pub this needs to be addressed as if my children were treated like this I would be appalled. The chefs should show more respect for these young women and the management need to do something about it! Otherwise the food was good, however after seeing that I definitely wouldn’t support that kind of behaviour so wouldn’t return.

Four of us had Sunday lunch here. The food was excellent, good choice of roasts and no extra for the beef - which was cooked to perfection. Very generous individual selection of vegetables plus cauliflower cheese. We (greedily) had starters which were lovely - warm camembert, french onion soup, white bait and frito-miso. We didnt need them as the sunday lunch was plenty. There is also a good selection of reasonably priced bar snacks. All in all very good value. We visit this area often and have been to many places for Sunday lunch in the area around Bridport/Dorchester. This is currently my favourite..Will definately come again and try other days of the week.

Met with friends for Lunch, Great menu with special board. Very busy as a week before Christmas but superb prompt friendly service, nice to go somewhere with properly trained attentivr staff.Terrific food Mussels, Scallop and tempura Prawns were perfect.

What a fantastic pub and the quality of the food and presentation was outstanding. The staff were happy to serve customers but did not intrude. I would definitely return and love this pub

Great evening meal at the Three Horseshoes. We enjoyed steak, stuffed plaice followed by meringues and the cheese board. Service was good, staff friendly, food tasty and good value. Dog friendly in the bar. Booking for a Saturday evening advisable.

My partener and I have been twice this week to eat the second time because the first was exceptional. Both times the starters and mains were tasty and well presented. The food is beautifully cooked and it is so hard to choose what to have on the menu. The staff are friendly polite and professional. The place itself is so comfortable and dog friendly.if this pub was near my home this would my local.

Three of us met for Sunday lunch, and fortunately booked a table in the restaurant (although you can happily eat in the bar as well) in advance. The pub does not open until midday, but was still serving lunch when we left after 3.00 pm. The welcome was great, the restaurant atmospheric, the whole pub seems very old, although our lovely waitress sadly had no idea of its history. The menu options were vast, and there was a special’s board too. For starters, two of us had soup, beautifully served with gorgeous olive sour dough bread, one had scallops, which were out of this world. For the main course one had lamb complete with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding (!) roast potatoes, plus separate servings of cauliflower cheese and a selection of vegetables which he said was truly delicious. Two of us had Cornish mussels from the river Fowey.......and my goodness weren’t they good. These came with ‘frites’ beautifully cooked, plus more sour dough bread. For dessert, one had ice cream, one had Affogato with amoretto poured over it, and the third had a gooey chocolate pudding with ice cream. We all had three large glasses of wine between us, and we all had coffee afterwards. The bill was pleasantly modest, the cooking superb and the service impeccable. Both the restaurant and the bar were packed.

A number of our other favourite restaurants have changed hands recently and have been a bit of a disappointment, so to find the Three Horseshoes maintaining its high standard is a relief.

We stopped purely by chance for lunch on our way to Lyme Regis showing off some of the delights of Dorset to friends over from Australia. We were not disappointed-a welcoming atmosphere and well cooked food.

At last a pub with a good friendly atmosphere and excellent food, not too overpriced, nothing too much trouble. Thought that sort of pub had gone forever! Enjoyed two evening meals when staying in Burton Bradstock.Very welcoming with a roaring fire in the grate !

We walked with our dog from West Bay to eat lunch at this Palmers Brewery pub. It was really nice. We sat in the rear garden on what was a hot day and enjoyed the ambience. The food was really nice and filling, well presented and had good flavour. We are so pleased we made the effort to walk from the coast to this pub - loved it!

By a complete fluke, I had lunch and dinner here on the same day. My scallops and 'dirty chips' were superb. I was with a regular walking group and all10 of us were served efficiently. We all enjoyed our time there. My evening meal with friends was excellent. I had the belly pork. Melt in the mouth and served beautifully with a good choice of vegetables. A great coffee afterwards, finished a great day

We were a party of 4 adults and 2 dogs. We were provided a lovely table at a bay window close to a pleasant open fire. Between us we had 3 different roasts and 1 steak and were all very impressed (demonstrated by the very clean plates we left!)

A very warm welcome, attentive service and really excellent Moules & Frites and Plaice & vegetables. A great meal for two, with nice ingredients, well prepared and cooked; and served by staff who care. Bravo!

Had dinner with my elderly mother in law who is in a wheelchair! She said that her slowly cooked pork belly was the best she had ever eaten! Our fish dishes were also delicious! Our waiter was kind to help us finding a different table as the first one was next to a noisy table! Great place with a good atmosphere! The only remark I would like to make that the back yard needs to be tidied up!

Pub was full to capacity but the barman managed to squeeze us in for a quick meal before they needed the table. It was well worth it. The service was excellent as was the food. Wish we had had a chance to try dessert

I love it when I try out a restaurant and catch it in it's prime. I suspected something was going on when I noticed that the car park at The Three Horseshoes was always full. I popped in for a post ramble mid-week pint, to discover a warm interior that was bustling with happy faces and tables full of delighted diners. Clearly the word is out - the menu here is a perfect combination of informed and inspired vegetarian options, exquisitely roasted, tasty cuts of meat and fresh seafood; all supplied with a dish of vegetables cooked with precision and flair.

We enjoyed two fabulous evening meals at this lovely pub whilst staying in the village. How terrific to find a great pub ‘on the doorstep’ which is warm in its welcome and comfort; delicious food and wines; reasonably priced; and friendly staff. The sourdough bread from the Wobbly Kitchen is really fantastic!

Just had a lovely meal this evening 3 veggie 2 meat and one pescatarian. Slow cooked venison stew delicious dumplings heavenly, veggie burgers and veggie tart looked good. Good service staff friendly. Dog came too had a biscuit bone from the counter not to be left out.

We ate here twice during our stay in Bridport. Three of us all had different seafood dishes, which were all cooked to perfection. My monkfish curry was excellent in my first visit and the Sea Bass was beautifully cooked on my second trip. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Well worth a visit but best to book a table in advance.

We came here for lunch based on a quick drop in soup last year which was really excellent. This year we booked a lunch table with our dog which was in a very pleasant corner of the bar. We had four starters instead of mains: they were excellent local food, a mixed fish platter, scallops and black pudding and a soup. A plate of mixed bread and dips was a fine accompaniment. Affogatto a good finish. Good beers and cider. Service and food speed just right. Good value too! Recommended but book!

Fantastic home cooked food. Really enjoyed this lunch of steak and kidney pie with veg. Really good and well priced.

I don't know how but Jaap has somehow improved on what was already the best roast dinner around. It was absolutely amazing as always.

Well worth the visit. Have been meaning to go for sometime and we were not disappointed. Friendly welcome from the staff and landlord. Sunday isn’t Sunday without a roast and l had the roast beef, my partner the lamb. Both meats were cooked to our requirements,in my case leave the horns on the cow. The meats were served with a variety of locally sourced vegetables, l did like the roasted cauliflower and the root vegetables were extremely tasty, no orange carrots here. The beans were also a plus, they can so easily be stringy. Roast potatoes were on the small size, but very nice. My only criticism,nit picking now, the Yorkshire pudding could have been bigger and crispier. Overall an excellent meal accompanied with a nice Argentinian Malbec wine. A definite return is required in the very new future.

Food here is excellent, In season Fridays and Saturdays are very busy. locals and visitors in for drinks. Mussels if available definitely worth trying

Enjoyed 2 meals here during our recent stay in Dorset. Both very good and good service as well. Need to book during the summer month.

We've eaten here a few times over the years and always enjoyed very good food and good wine at a very reasonable price. There's a good menu (the scallops starter is superb) and the specials are excellent too.The service is good, bar staff friendly. We'll definitely be going again when we're down there. (They also serve a very good pint, though a guest ale as a change to Palmer's would be nice!).

We had a few drinks in the garden on a sunny day then went in for Sunday dinner which was wonder ful the roast beef and pork was cooked to perfection great food and staff great pub

Stopped at The Three Horseshoes for lunch. Lovely olde worlde pub with friendly staff and excellent food
