Tuesday Cod & Chips... Both cooked perfectly, a lovely bit of cod in a light batter, I do not often enjoy eating chips but these were lovely.... and great value for money. The atmosphere was very pleasant and a nice service received from the gent behind the bar.

Was in the area visiting family over the weekend & met up with a friend for a catch up & lunch. Picked the three Horseshoes as it was near to where I was saying & can safely say was an excellent choice. From the moment we stepped in the door we was made to very welcome, our table had been reserved in a lovely window. We both had roast which came about 5 mins after ordering which was fab as we were both hungry and it was delicious, lovely potatoes, cauliflower cheese, parsnips - heaven. We then had pudding one apple crumble & one chic cheesecake with nuts again absolutely delicious. Would definitely go again when I’m in the area.Overall was a lovely pub with very friendly & welcoming staff a locals. Really enjoyed it, thank u very much The Three Horseshoes

We popped into this pub for lunch after going to Mount Ephraim gardens. It was a wet and dismal day outside and the pub was warm and cosy and very traditional. The menu is very traditional pub grub (Ham egg and chips etc). We chose the fish and chips and it was absolutely delicious. The fish was light and fresh, the batter also light and non greasy and really tasty chips. Very impressed and I would go again just for the fish and chips (fish had been delivered on the day we went). Friendly publican.

Friendly enough welcome but on looking at the menu, despite the pub stating it is vegetarian friendly, was amazed to find not a single vegetarian main option apart from the bracketed suggestion that a veggie alternative was available for the English breakfast. Pretty awful and outdated for a food led pub. With two of us being vegetarians we had to look at the light bites blackboard where there was an option of a cheese and pickle sandwich or a jacket potato with cheese or with beans. We ordered jacket potatoes and a sandwich with a side of chips. It arrived pretty quickly but both jacket potatoes were barely luke warm. The chips were also disappointing, as if they had not been in the fryer long enough. We didn’t have a check back to ask how the food was but, albeit cold, we did eat it, just left most of the chips. Even on clearing the plates, we were asked if we were finished but not if everything was ok. I’m hoping this was just an off day in the kitchen. I was reluctant to write a review as at the time we did not wish go out of our way to complain but on reflection I thought particularly the fact that vegetarians are not catered for is really something that should be rectified, even more so when advertising as vegetarian friendly.

We had good reviews from other visitirs to our Birth Place and decided to revisit and check the new owners. Very pleased to say what a pleasure it was and we shall return. Good home cooking of PUb Grub and some specialities such as Faggotts, now all gone, Haggerty Pie and good old fish and chips or All Day Breakfast which the majority went for. One chap had the Ham Eggs and Chips, while I had Slow cook Pork belly which was lovely and crispy. Not at bit left on the plates except for our slimmer in the group. They were big and beasty chips too. My Mash Pottatoe was buttery and probably perfect in taste and texture. The Beer is Sheps of course. Lovely haunted, old and in fact, one of the Oldest Kentish Pubs. Garden area, cosy and clean. Beers and Food excellent. Parking is in street but there is usualy enough space a bit further alonng the road. Or you can visit Mount Ephriem Gardens and park there. A must visit and great local.

We decided to go for Sunday lunch at this pub after having been before and it’s always been wonderful. However, what we didn’t know, is that it is now under new management and it’s food standards have somewhat slipped! When we arrived the waitress said there was a problem with the menus and basically there weren’t any. There were just three choices for Sunday lunch. We ordered straight away (2 meat options and 2 vegetarian). After several times of asking and no food appearing we waited an hour and a half hour for our food which finally arrived. The meat was tough and dry and the vegetarian pie which was supposed to be spinach was actually mushroom. Burnt Yorkshire puddings and vegetables I would expect to see in an old people’s home. Such a disappointment as this pub has always been busy and packed with people but today it was empty and freezing. I really do hope the new landlord can sort himself out and these issues are nothing but teething problems. Needless to say...we won’t be back for a while.

Time to revisit our birthing Pub. Tragically the previous Land Lady Vera Skipper, recently passed away. It was She and Mike who named us the Wednesday Old Gits Society many years ago, just before they retired. Now Buster keeps the tradion going. Great Pub all round. Lots of entertainment and music sessions with quality artists. Great variety of Food from Goat Curries to Steak & Kidney Puddings and some vegetarian dishes to complete the mix of choices. Some of us Had Singapore Noodles, Others a Goan Curry, Fish Pie, Our Ham Egg Chips surveyor stuck to his guns, and various other super dishes, all delivered on time at the same time. Do not know how they do it in such a small kithchen. Well kept Sheps Beer. They catered for 8 of us diners today and can sweeze more when required. Nice little Garden, parking a bit tight, or park in the road and enjoy a short walk. Cosy old real local Pub with real locals supporting it. Food is Great along with the cheerfull prompt service. This is one of Kent's great hostelries; out of the way for the 'through traveller' on the A2 but well worth a detour for the natural local atmosphere, great beer (well kept), good food, Blues nights and jovial landlord Buster who follows in a long and honourable tradition of landlords going back centuries. The "Courtney Riots" took place just outside as the local militia and special constables chased "Sir Richard Courtney" Knight of Malta etc and his army of local unemployed agricultural labourers up the hill to the 'Battle of Bossenden Wood" just above Dunkirk. His real name was "John Tom" a vintner from Cornwall. He had some mental health issues but this is to minimise his charisma and awareness of poverty and social injustice in the distribution of wealth and life opportunities (even worse in the 1830's than now). Fascinating story which just enhances the spirit and atmosphere of a delightful 'watering hole' whose beers and atmosphere I have enjoyed for 45 years. This place is a MUST but not for too many of you or I will have to go elsewhere for some peace and quiet, good food and ambience!

The Three HorseshoesStaplestreet Road, Hernhill Date of visit - 7 November 2016A group from the Friends of the Mole Hash House Harriers chose The Three Horseshoes as the venue for their weekly Monday run. The landlady was happy to provide a choice of meat or veg curry for £9.95 and food was ordered before we set off for the run at 7.30pm to be served when we got back at 9pm. The pub is more than a typical country pub as it dates back to 1690 but it’s very cosy with an open fire in the back room that throws out a lot of heat. The staff were friendly and helpful but an extra pair of hands might have been useful behind the bar. Food was served around 9.15pm; I had the chicken curry served with rice, a naan bread and mango chutney – the portion size was generous, the quality of the chicken was excellent and it tasted delicious. Every table has a candle on it which is rather a nice touch. The pub does not have a car park but there is plenty of parking on the road.Definitely worth a visit.,

By this time we were very hungry and a little pushed for time, luckily the menu offered a very tasty shepherds pie with lovely fresh vegetables, just what we needed. Due to time pressures we didn't get the chance to sample the desserts. There seemed to be a good range of food across the board and regular special event evenings featuring fish and chips or Caribbean food, lots of good things for locals and visitors alike. My partner and I, both ordered 2 steak and kidney puddings, they were delicious but we was very disappointed with the small portion size of our cheesy chips and a tiny bowl of vegetables, leeks and green beans between two of us. We could not believe it, when we was presented with our bill, the large glass of wine was four pounds, which was totally acceptable, but we could not believe our eyes, when we was charged FIVE POUNDS for ONE GLASS of DRAUGHT COKE, we noticed that this was a Shepherd Neame pub and we wondered if they was aware that this public house is charging extortionate prices for ONE glass of DRAUGHT Coke.

Our group of weekly diners enjoyed a very tasty and satisfying meal at the Pub last week. This is a family run Pub with Good Beers (mainly Shepherd & Neame - Kent's Oldest Brewery) and Wines. A variety of cuisine on offer all freshly prepared. Special discounted rate evenings on Wednesdays and many entertainment days and nights and themed menus. A must for people who like the off the beaten track olde worlde pubs. See their website and facebook for info. Now under the new management of Charlotte and with Buster Cooking they must succeed.

Had Sunday lunch on Mothers Day - what a great meal in a lovely country pub. The food was excellent and Charlotte behind the bar was very welcoming. We had roast beef which was fab with lots of fresh veg, best roast spuds I have ever tasted topped with a huge yorkshire pudding. A family pub with delightful food and staff.

We visited the Three Horseshoes on Sunday after a long country walk. Great atmosphere, staff very friendly. My husband had roast pork, which he said was excellent (far better than a roast he had had recently in another local village pub). I had mushroom wellington (being a veggie) and it was very tasty. Lots of veg, veggie gravy and a huge mushroom wellington. One of the best veggie Sunday lunches I have had in a long while. We have already recommended to some friends and we will definitely be back.

This is a fantastic pub with the best Sunday roast I have ever eaten (bar those cooked by my mum!). I had the beef which was cooked perfectly and the Yorkshire puddings were to die for. The roast is very reasonably priced and I thoroughly enjoyed my jam sponge pudding for afters! It's like a home from home with the lovely ambiance and freshly cooked delicious food. The staff and the locals are vibrant and welcoming and the vibe will make you want to return again and again. The country pub is complete with an open fire, a loveable and friendly golden retriever and a warm, accommodating landlady.I came for a Sunday lunch but stayed for the friendly banter and the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this pub whether it be for food, a drink or the entertainment they provide on occasions. I was fortunate enough to enjoy some incredible music from local artists on one of my visits, this pub really has something for everyone!

What a brilliant find. They have really taken care of the outside of this pub and it looks like and has been there for years. Inside it's just as nice with scrubbed tables, hops and proper bar with bottles of nuts and pickled eggs. The lunch we had was a simple baguette with crisps and salad affair but was reasonably priced and just what we wanted. Other food on the menu looked nice and see other reviews for more details. Nice landlady whose been in charge since last year and a fun 5 month old puppy. It was a quiet lunchtime shift but this place is a gem, perfect for a walk so please go and support as there is not many places like this left.

Had a meal at this great traditional pub. 4 of us had a meal here last night . The food is excellent, and home cooked, had steak and ale pie and it was the best!. Home made puddings to die for, well worth coming here for a drink or a meal. The atmosphere is great and its what a village pub should be like .Well done!

My family had a lovely Sunday Roast at The Three Horseshoes, Hernehill. The menu offered a good selection for a three course meal and we were all really pleased with our choices. Very tasty! Earlier in the week we had an excellent curry at this fabulous family pub. Tucked out of the way between Canterbury and Faversham, it is a delightful pub that offers everything from a lovely oldie worldie feel to a friendly welcoming atmosphere and tasty food! It is well worth the effort to take a detour of the Boughton-under- Blean highstreet.

Although this pub is a few miles out of my hometown in Faversham, I always make an effort to visit, whether I cycle or drive, simply because it out does all the local pubs in the town. Set in a beautifully tranquil village, the pub is the heart of the country life. Upon walking into The Three Horseshoes you'll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere, provided by the wonderful staff, and some characterful regulars that always give a bit of vibrancy! I'd suggest trying a good pint of Real Kentish Ale, and checking out the food specials board, or just sitting in the garden with a shandy and a bowl of chunky chips for that hot summers day snack. I can assure you, you won't be disappointed! Be sure check out the events on the pubs Facebook page, regular bands are often found playing on a Weekend, or if your lucky enough you might even catch the brilliant wheely bin race day, full of fun and surprises for all the family! You'd be mad to miss this place if your in the local area, as it really is a true testament to what a traditional country pub should be like!

To accompany my chips I order a 'Special Ossies Salad' - it took forever to be prepared, and consisted of a bit of limp iceburg lettuce, a sliced tomato, bought in tasteless coleslaw and a couple of olives. It tasted of nothing! It was served in a miserable polystyrene dish with hideous cling film over it - disgusting. What a waste of money.

This is the best place to meet up with friends/ family in Faversham. I met up with my v v best friend and her family for lunch on a mild Wednesday. We all had the hash browns meal with a coffee. All the cooking and atmosphere is first class, perfect for others who are gluten intolerant. I would greatly recommend for those in the Faversham/Medway Towns area to visit.
