Always enjoy our lunch served here. The lunch club menu for over 60s is a good idea

Coffee was good. I did visit late at 4.20pm & there did not appear to be any option for a sweet treat. The manager was not welcoming & made me feel uncomfortable spoiling the good coffee. I'll pass by the next time 😔

A decent cup of coffee spoiled entirely by the staff and their haste to close 40 minutes before due. Visitors to the area so obviously never been before. Acosted by front of house on as we made our way to the counter and asked what we wanted. Coffee and a menu. Handed a coffee menu, no food not even offered a scone. Passive aggressive staff. First time last time

Food was great. And the shop is lovely. The woman who served me in the shop was friendly and helpful.

Updated review, as was recommended to try again as cafe/restaurant seems to have improved. Although still a little more expensive than others, food has greatly improved, during the week there is no real waiting time and new waitresses are a lot more helpful & friendly.

Check what you buyas may be to prices one in side pot then one on outer pot

Very pleasant coffee area with good food and drink selection. The staff were great. The shop area is also nice and has some unusual items. Get there early for a Sunday roast or be disappointed 😔

A nice wee garden centre with usual types of gifts, plants and gardening stuff. Restaurant is big and food and drink usually very good. It's table service with friendly staff. We are usually well looked after. Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait if busy but staff do let you know and it is worth it as all food is made fresh. The kids menu is good with lots of choice. Good for coffee and cake too. Small outdoor play area for younger children.

Had a flat white which had been spilt. Ordered the hot dog which was pretty tasteless, said it came with American mustard but was actually English which almost blew my head off. Overall quality of food was very average and wouldn’t recommend. Coffee was ok and cakes looked good.

Not the best first time experience in my lifetime. Running out of roast before 1.30pm is ridiculous never in my in my catering experience has that ever happened. So we opted for the macaroni & cheese which was lacking in seasoning & cheese was absent. Never been so disappointed & disgusted. Won’t be back or recommending it to anyone.

Overpriced not that great food and drink will not be back shocking expensive prices

Just had the soup and sandwich but it was lovely. Lots of Xmas knick knacks. Friendly service.

We were first in and much of the breakfast was cool not hot. ie beans, sausage, mushrooms and bacon. We did report it, my wife's beans were reheated but when it came back the mushrooms were cool. I did not send mine back as an ex serviceman I put up with it.

Popped in past threaplands today to meet some family for lunch, and found the turkey roast (Christmas!) was on the menu! Went for the large portion and was very impressed with the meal, very high quality and turkey cooked to perfection. Dare I say it, even better than some home cooked versions I have tried over the years! That, plus the excellent service, clean and tidy setting made it an excellent stop off. Not to mention, picked up a couple or bags of logs at the same time! If passing through, or fancy a coffee/lunch or even browsing garden items or gifts would highly recommend threaplands 👌👌👌

Threaplands is more restaurant with a gardening bit than garden centre. A lot of time, money and thought has gone into the restaurant. The range of food available is quite extensive. It was really busy when we visited (a Wednesday) and a look at the menu tells you why. They have a special offer for pensioners and also have specials of 2 or 3 courses. The garden centre is a let down. It is very small with little choice. Better gardening shopping is available in nearby Elgin or even Christies. The shop section is slightly better. However it still only took about 10 minutes to browse it all. If you are looking for a reasonably priced meal this is the place. If you're looking for gardening stuff I'd give it a miss.

Had Sunday lunch. The mashed potato was lumpy and barely warm with a small amount of lukewarm vegetables. Not a good meal.

A great value place with quality plants and gifts. The restaurant is spacious with an open plan dining area with lots of seating indoor and out with a play area. Staff with constantly cleaning empty tables and checking all customers. They offer a wide array of food including vegan and gluten-free options. Also offering free diluted juice and water.

The atmosphere was pleasant,plenty of clear spaces to sit the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent

My daughter and I went here for lunch last week couldn't fault the food, big portions and very busy. We came in just at the right time and didn't have to queue for a table. Will definitely be back

More homeware and café than garden centre. Garden centre extremely limited in options but what was there looked healthy. Just didn't have the range one would expect of such a huge building

Fresh breakfast, was not dried to death under warming lamps, best one we've had for along time ! Plants not over priced and grown inhouse always good keeping it local !!

Visited a few times and the food has always been fabulous. The roast dinners are the best in the area, especially the roast beef which I’d highly recommend. The only issue we had on this visit was my 76 year old mum left feeling a little embarrassed being called honey bun by a rather excitable waitress but overall fantastic eatery.

Food is incredible. Had the fish and chips. Well worth the trip from Aberdeen

Good parking and entrance accessible for wheelchairs. Menu good enough for an enjoyable lunch or just coffee and cake. Service quick and pleasant friendly staff. Shop and under cover garden centre are well stocked. Worth a visit. Also a very good breakfast menu including a vegetarian plateful of tasty goodies. There is a visiting artist who apparently leaves his art work on napkins. Yet to be seen so maybe they could be displayed somewhere for public viewing.

We arrived to hopefully get some lunch as we hadn't eaten yet, we were really disappointed that no hot food was available, especially as we had stood waiting to be seated for quite a while at the sign, and I had to go ask someone if we could sit at a table. Not good when you are with your 70 Yr old mum, and can see staff standing around.

Garden centre and cafe - midrange prices for items so would say two ££ out of three £££. Easy disabled access to the building and parking, also decent space within for browsing and social distancing and to get a wheelchair round, a lift available to get to the first floor where they have some additional stock to peruse. Well lit and lovely displays. Friendly for all ages with baby changing and disabled toilets as well. Good range of items; from clothes like jackets and scarfs and hats, dog and cat items, indoor and outdoor plants and gardening equipment and decor, assortment of cards, bathroom soaps, edibles such as shortbread and jams and chocolate, toys for children and quirky gift ideas ☆ Cafe is disabled access friendly and the tables are large and tall and the chairs are very comfortable, good view out the window seats with an offshoot cafe room for events or extra seating, as well as an extra setup of seating outside but it is sheltered. Tables can seat up to 6 folk. Strong lattes and decent food sizes and portions for the prices on the menu. Takeaway options available for cakes and scones etc. If its busy around lunch time the queue to be seated can be up to 10 mins, and on the rare occasion the table service up to 20 mins, but generally decent time and friendly and helpful staff both in cafe and garden centre/shop area. A pleasant outing for gift browsing and a coffee and cake with friends or breakfast/lunch.

Have passed by many times when travelling along A96 to Elgin but never stopped to go in. Went in this week for a coffee and a scone. Staff were friendly, cafe was nice and clean as we're the toilets. Scone and coffee were both very nice and I will drop in again. Next time will try a hot meal which based on the evidence so far I expect it to also be very nice. Quite a small area for fancy goods and limited clothing so if you do drop in don't expect to be able to do much after coffee. Nice enough for a pit stop though. I'll go in again.

Good selection of plants. Great selection of food on offer. The scones are a meal in themselves.

Thanks for a fantastic festive afternoon tea - also for offering a consistently high level of service and products in recent months; a a a family we are regulars and feel lucky to have such a great place to spend time with friends and family.

Had xmas dinner there and it was very good

We had a lovely cuppa & tasty scone.Very friendly staff. Especially assistant's till when we paid for our purchases.(MO)

Menu is mostly burgers, wraps, sandwiches, not much is not deep fried easy to put out food. The menu used to be a lot better. Ordered 2 meals, one meal was totally wrong, apart from offering to take it away and us wait for the correct meal to be delivered,meaning we had to eat separately, they were not really bothered about their mistake. Ordered cake, biscuit and tea, very small slither of cake and 1 small biscuit, very overpriced.

Went for an afternoon tea which was absolutely fantastic. Great for a holiday treat with the family

We've been a few times before for breakfast or lunch and never had any complaints but on our last visit we were quite disappointed. The menu has been changed, which I realise happens, but not for the better and the increase in prices seemed quite unnecessary and unjustified.

As always we all had a great lunch at Threaplands yesterday, the staff were getting into the spirit of Halloween and were all dressed up. Our grandson was dressed up as The Joker of Batman fame. The super puzzle out in the garden centre was fantastic and after completing it a goody bag was handed out. He was well made up. Many thanks to all the staff for making a great afternoon for him and for us a lovely lunch.

Fast service nice good food easy access

Visited Threaplands today with my parents for our lunch. Overall the experience was disappointing. We arrived around 11:45 and couldn't order until 12, so sat down and ordered a coffee. At 11:55 they took our order, and asked for payment. The food was reasonable, but not outstanding. I had a pond burger which had fish goujons and scampi pieces. This sounded good, but didn't quite work with the bun. My father had fish and chips, but the only option was breaded when he would have preferred battered. After the main course we waited for over 20 minutes for our table to be cleared and our dessert order to be taken. At one point we managed to catch the attention of one of the staff, who agreed to help, but didn't come back. Eventually we left without pudding. I'm not quite sure what went wrong. It is obviously very popular, with every table full, but may not have enough staff to do what it tries to do. It may concentrate on mains, getting the money in, at the expense of people who want more.

Nice new building with a nice cafe /restaurant. Lots of gift ideas etc. Garden centre at the rear. I do feel they have focused more on the eatery side of things rather than being a garden centre? Do have some good quality plants although pricey.

Both the wife and my daughter called at separate times and spoke to 2 different people to check if dogs were allowed in the building. Both said yes and lo and behold you can't bring them in. Unless they are a service dog . Apart from that it's not as extensive a garden centre as some IV been in and looking at price's it's a bit steep on some if their items.

Visited the restaurant but unfortunately had run out of ingredients for an afternoon tea so had to order something else. What we did order was good quality and very tasty will be back in future and hopefully get an afternoon tea this time.

Stopped for lunch here today. Underwhelmed. Pricey and slow service. An hour and 5 mins for 1 main and 1 starter/dessert. Sat in the outside area and had to chase up my wife's dessert. Most of the food was good except the coleslaw which was mostly large hard pieces of cabbage, a little carrot and no onion. Tasteless! Shame as we have stopped before for coffee and scone and been quite happy.

People had recommended the restaurant to us and we weren’t disappointed. Friendly service, good quality food and drink and Covid measures were adequate. Sat outside and despite the road noise the view of fields opposite was lovely.

After what happened this morning (29/08/21) I would only give you 1 star. No staff knew what to do when the fire alarm went off, everyone just stood about and no obvious fire Marshall taking charge. Over charged with our order and lukewarm food, there was also people waiting for over an hour just for tea and scones. Really disappointing.

Visited here today for a quick bite It is one of the nicest places I have visited in a long time. It is immaculate , and very clean and neat. The waitress that took our order was charming a friendly. Other eateries should take lessons from her in how to make customers feel welcome and if I was her boss I would make sure she was well rewarded as she is an asset to the business. The food was of excellent quality and served quickly. Cannot recommended this place highly enough. It fair made our day. Well done to all for the high standard you have achieved. Thank you.

Fantastic. People are most welcoming and friendly. Service is absolutely amazing. The food was top notch, and very well presented. The plants are very healthy and we are very happy with our purchases. I highly recommend that you make a visit. Overall it was the most wonderful few hours I have spent in years, and in this world that is hard to find.

Very nice place to browse and also have a really nice meal or snack, It wasn't that busy when we arrived, we went to the restaurant and was taken to our table, they said that the table service was a bit backed up and would have to wait a while, which we didn't have to wait for too long and both our meals were extremely delicious, the staff were really friendly and personable. The garden centre part didn't have much, as they had more of the trinkets and tourist biscuits and gifts
