Had my 18th birthday meal here today (17th march) and the food was amazing 👏 and the menu is priced very well. Staff were amazing as well, super friendly will be coming back!

I just had the most amazing Sunday lunch at this cozy little spot! Seriously, it was one for the books. Let me tell you all about it. First off, the roasted shank of lamb was out of this world. Juicy, tender, and packed with flavor—it was like a party in my mouth! And the vegetarian lentil parcel? Oh man, it was a delightful surprise. So hearty and tasty, even meat lovers like me were impressed. But what really made the meal was the service. The hosts were top-notch—friendly, attentive, and really went the extra mile to make sure we were well taken care of. They even listened to our special requests and knocked it out of the park. Oh, and did I mention the live music? It was the cherry on top of an already fantastic meal. Such a nice touch! And let's talk about those bloody marys. I'm telling you, they were the best I've ever had. Perfectly spicy and refreshing. Overall, it was an experience to remember. Great food, awesome service, live music, killer drinks—what more could you ask for on a Sunday afternoon? I'll definitely be coming back for more! Thank you Layla!

ULTIMATELY IT'S A PUB GUESS THE SMELL OF URINE LINGERING AT THE ENTRANCE & BAR IS NORMAL FOR SOME BUT FOR ME IT PUTS QUESTIONS ABOUT HYGIENE IN MY BRAIN FROM THE GET GO... PLACED ORDER AT THE KITCHEN HATCH NO TABLE SERVICE, LIMITED THE ORDER TO A PANEER CURRY, NAAN,CHIPS & PRAWN BIRYANI. FOOD ARRIVED HOT BUT SMALL PORTIONS. FLAVOUR HIT WAS MISSING - NO BOLD GARLIC GINGER OR INTENSE GROUND SPICES. WHILST I WAS SAT EATING I FELT IT WAS NECESSARY TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT ON FOOD STANDARDS WEBSITE 😯 IT HAS BEEN DOWN TO 2 STARS HYGIENE RATING FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS 🤢 GROSS!! NEEDLESS TO SAY I DIDN'T TOUCH ANOTHER BITE & GOT OUTTA THERE. NO SIR NEVER AGAIN (NOT UNTIL STANDARDS CHANGE TO A 5 STAR) I HAD HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS PLACE BUT HYGIENE FAILINGS ARE UNFORGIVABLE.

Lovely meal out, the staff were really attentive and friendly. The food arrived lovely and hot and the portions were really generous. It was tasty and as described on the menu. The puds were yummy too. Really relaxed Friday evening atmosphere with a nice buzz coming from the bar area too - a lovely combination. We sat for quite a while after our meal and at no point felt rushed to pay up and get out of the way, everyone was really friendly, even the dogs who popped to say hello!

If i can give no stars i would do that for service.. spend as much and ask for an extra sauce.. the lady at the counter says i have put two each in two bags.. reach home there is none in the second bag.. talk about being stingy. Was recommended been there a few times.. not going again.. the lady was rude.. had book3d a table for sunday for my whole family cancelled it now. I am sure 68 pound of takeaway can get a 15pence extra sauce container. I think its new staff never seen the lady before. Good job you lost a customer today.. its not rocket science to be a little respectful.

Lovely staff who when out of their way to accommodate our last minute changes to our booking, and squeezing our little doggie in, for Sunday lunch. I was undecided on what meat to have so went for the 'Trio' and what a Trio' ! each portion was a meal in its self. I rarely order beef as it can be so 'hit and miss' but was pleasantly surprised and wish I'd gone for just the beef as it was beautifully pink and tender, cooked to perfection! I can't wait to come back for the roast beef ! The whole visit was a delightful experience from the friendly staff, good ale and a Sunday lunch to die for ! Will be back !!

Came here for food and a few drinks. The mix grill wasn't great and the portion size for a large mix grill (see photo's) was terrible. The chicken was hard, food was warm at best. Terrible kebab so dry and rubbery. Pint of Guinness was ok but not poured properly. Nans were cold, the butter chicken one of the very worst around. Only saving grace was the lamb claypot. Plenty of other better desi mix grill pubs around so do yourself a favour and go there.

Had my 50th anniversary here here,good food and atmosphere, bar staff polite,the manager paid a full round of drinks for our family can't thank him enough, I use this place most weeks,tried most places in West bromwich, but this place is the best for food and watching the football

Fabulous pub in a lovely village. Food was amazing - freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. The desserts were delicious and full of flavour. Wonderful friendly pub. Have returned a few times now and always had a warm welcome However muddy our boots are! Had 2 muddy dogs with us this time and still welcomed in. Food excellent and very good value.

Arranged to meet our son, daughter in law and their 6wk old baby for my 60th Birthday celebration lunch. It is halfway in a two hour journey so suited all of us. Jack was very accommodating when I booked being very understanding of having such a young member of the family with us. We had fish and chips, burgers and a pizza which were all delicious. The staff were all professional, helpful and made us feel very welcome. Thank you all so much for making it such an enjoyable time, you really do go that one step further for your guests. I’m sure we will be back again in the future.

Amazing tasty food, took over 45 mins for the food, however.... It was worth the wait. AND they sell caffreys which was a nice treat. Chicken Tikka, Lamb Rogan Josh, Chilli Chips and Coriander and Garlic Naan.. Absolutely gorgeous

My Wife and I went for Sunday lunch. Jenny had the lamb shank and I had the Trio. I was hungry, but I didn't expect the wonderful large portions. The meat and veggies were cooked just the way we liked them. The last time we were there was NYE and we were amazed that Ellie remembered that being our anniversary. She is such a great ambassador for The Yew Tree and obviously has a great team around her. They all create a terrific atmosphere. We won't leave it so long next time!! Roger Manners

Hi Had a family function last Saturday, approx 75 guests. The Yew Tree has a separate banqueting suite from the pub and can cater in house for upto 110 people. Thank you so much for delivering an awesome event, from setting the room, to the food and drinks ....had some positive comments come back from the family. 1. Venue was awesome 2. Food was really excellent....some of my family are food critics .....for them to say that....WOW!!! 3. The team provided an excellent service and were so nice and forthcoming 4. A beautiful old pub in a pretty village. Very helpful staff. Nice selection of ales. The best haddock chips and peas plus tartare sauce. We all agreed that it was the best fish and chips we've eaten anywhere. Highly recommended.

If you want to have lots of food colouring then go there🤷‍♂️ All the Indo Chinese items have nothing but Bright Red food colouring(nearly pink). Draught wasn’t poured properly, lots of foam. Don’t recommend having indo chinese items over there, do try other stuff.

We had a lovely relaxed lunch here. The menu is fairly limited and the food pretty simple to prepare, maybe they have a new or less experienced chef? Having said that, the food we had was really good and the service was excellent. The pub is in a very pretty village and it has a lovely friendly feel to it, a great asset for the village.

We had the best steak and chips served with an amazing peppercorn sauce, garlic peas and green beans, tomato and mushroom. We couldn’t resist the battered onion rings on the side as an extra. Everything was cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. The homemade cheesecake and ice cream made locally is an absolute winner. The staff are very friendly and happy to serve. It was well worth the visit.

We visited The Yew Tree for dinner, it was very busy and we hadn't booked but they found us a table in the bar, we had moules mariniere and two of us had the ham and eggs, the food was really good and the service was excellent, good pint of butty bach and nice glass of pinot blush, first visit here but will definitely not be our last, thank you to the great team

Came here, four adults, three children. Ordered the food which arrived at the table excellently and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed every mouthful. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We had an excellent time at the Yew Tree. The children enjoyed themselves and the food was wonderful. All allergies were catered for and checked about. The Yew Tree is a thriving village pub that does a fabulous Sunday roast. The beef is sourced locally and is excellent, accompanied by the best Yorkshire pies! We started with the crispy beef salad which is so tasty and finished with Eton mess. Service is always with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you, Jack and your team!

After a walk around the Dassatt Hills with the dog, this lovely village Pub provided the best finish to a Sunday. The menu was succinct and to point with everything you could wish for a Roast. Portion sizes were spot on leaving enough room for Pudding. Mostly wherever they can everything is homemade and or locally sourced which is brilliant. Great ambiance, friendly Hosts and they welcome dogs. We’ll definitely definitely be back again soon to try the Homemade ice creams and the other choices on the menu 😋🤩

Visited The Yew Tree earlier today for Sunday lunch. Friendly welcome from all the staff, lovely ambience (dog friendly) and the roast was spot on. No Aunt Bessie's here, all home prepared and cooked. Highly recommended, we will definitely return.

Shame the bar is being overrun with drunk locals shouting and swearing, a shame as it could be a good pub. Seeing as the village own it they need to get a grip and the landlord needs to spend sometime to sort them out. It will close otherwise. Also the toilets are filthy.

What a fabulous night. Organised by a friend, I had never been to this pub before but I have to say, I will definitely be visiting again. We pre-booked the Christmas Menu. Everything was beautiful and the staff were amazing and couldn't have done more. They even asked if we wanted to join in their quiz night. Definitely recommend a visit

After reading other reviews I had mixed feelings, but... After going there (Monday late afternoon) I was really impressed. OK service could be better. I was waiting for someone to come and collect an order but then I realised that you actually have to go to the counter and order. However food was really good and large portion. If I could change something in the food - Could be more spicy. It arrived really warm, so no complain. Prices are reasonable.

Visited here on weekend, called ahead and booked a table, arrived, parking is vast if not the car park plenty of parking on the road. Restaurant/ grill part is nice clean and big enough. We here given a booth which has its own TV screen showing the Football. Ordered drinks at bar, staff friendly and very helpful. Food is ordered separately, simple and easy process. Quality of off was excellent, fish Pakora one if not the best, chicken wings and mixed grill is of a very high quality. Value for money is also very good. Highly recommended for a place that is not very advertised when talking about mix grills Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

I've been to Yew tree quite a few times and food and service has always been lovely, Yesterday I decided to do uber eats delivery and what a big mistake,The large mix grill was taste less sheesh kebab did not taste like shessh kebab dry as anything,the Masala chips was even more disappointing seemed like stale chips that had been re heated disgusting,completely put me off ordering from there again or there again

Used just eat - Food came on time but no salad sauces or chutney. Called them and spoke to three people who just kept saying I’m sorry about that, I said it’s ok to be sorry but I nave no sauces to dip and no salad for the popadoms and mixed grill. Then someone came on the phone and said “ come and fetch some “. I explained that is not an option and that’s why I had delivered. Then a gentleman came on and said he would drop some off…….. did he …….. NO. just said that to fob me off ( after 10 minutes we gave up waiting and started to eat the food which was practically cold. ). Not a good experience at all

My wife and I were out walking and dropped in The Yew Tree for a spot of lunch. We received a very warm welcome. The service was impeccable. And the food was delicious. We will definitely make the trip to The Yew Tree again.

Was at The Yew Tree lady week, very light and airy atmosphere for a small part of about 80 guests. Food was good, this venue had a dance floor and bar plus space for the DJ.

First time here after finding it online and happy I went. Had masala chips, pilau rice and a mixed grill to share, which was tasty and well priced, as well as the drinks there. The girl on the bar was nice and informative (I couldn't decide on what drink I preferred and she was helpful). Also ordered 2 portions of poppadoms and was given extras which was a lovely gesture and appreciated. The condiments that came with the poppadoms were all delicious. The chutney was my favourite (wish I'd asked someone what kind of chutney it was). Would definitely come again and would recommend.

Positives first good parking, portions were good a size, and prices are cheap.. Mixed grill was disappointing. Wings stated stale. It was basically microwaved meat. Curry's were way too hot we asked for medium.. Chili chips where barely warm and tasteless... Looked like it was just tossed in some cheap sauce. Overall much better places to eat. I tried it and won't be coming back.
