Such a cute place, chai latte are lush and the staff are lovely

Was working nearby and popped in each day for teas and coffees (and on occasion, the bread pudding!) This is a family set up with several different interests being run from here, which seems to work very well. The lady I dealt with was charming and chatting. The aforementioned bread pudding was very moreish, and the portion sizes welcoming. If you find yourself in the area, do pop in. You’ll not regret it.

Unfortunately not serving the lovely and delicious Middle Eastern food anymore due to the energy crisis. Coffee & Cakes mainly now. This energy and inflation crisis is going to kill all those little gem places in Norwich.

the finest café in Norwich. Unfortunately, as of a few days ago they are no longer serving food. However I believe coffees, plants and furniture are still available. The mirza shakshuka and oxtail stew were incredible meals, I’m hoping on a cookbook from the workshop 💔

Workshop is a quirky little cafe in Norwich serving delicious Middle Eastern inspired dishes. Their falafel are the best! Very friendly service and lovely chilled out atmosphere.

Wonderful Place, great atmosphere and staff

Rather unique place. Very relaxed and nice and vibe about it. Coffee was lovely as was the cake. Lovely plant selection too available for purchase.

I love this little coffee shop, it just has such a chilled feel to it,the plants are gorgeous and the food decadent lol! Great chatty staff too!!

The workshop cafe is an absolute treat, I’d almost go as far as saying the best place to eat in Norwich. The small dishes are delicious, flavoursome and healthy. I love that it’s focussed on a breakfast/lunch/afternoon vibe rather than selling out for evening dinners. It’s decor is vivacious, relaxed and a little bohemian. Great to see you back in full flow after the pandemic. Thanks!

A great brunch of Mirza Shakshuka left us wanting more (or at least the recipe)! My partner said it was the best thing he’d eaten in a long time. Praise indeed! Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. We were one of just a few tables who turned up ahead of food service which they started early for us. We didn’t check out any of the games or books on offer but loved how you could buy a houseplant to take away.

Really delicious Mirza Shakshuka! The place is beautifully staged with great veggie options and houseplants for sale. The staff were incredibly friendly, we just wish they could share with us the recipes for the delicious food. We will be sure to return!

Great friendly service & lovely middle Eastern influenced food.

Everything is perfect (food is delicious, cute decoration, cool music...) but the staff seems to not care that much about customers...

We love this place. I was most distraught when the lockdown hit as I could not get my hands on those lamb balls in yoghurt sauce. The marinated chicken thighs are a close 2nd. Cakes are always lovely too. The service is always friendly and fast. Love the decor but understand it's not to everyone's taste. The place has a relaxed Bohemian feel. Go there if you are thinking about. I/we will be coming back as regulars.

Enjoyed a takeaway late lunch for a birthday celebration. On collection social distancing was well organised and observed. Small hitch with two dishes being left behind were very courteously delivered to our door. Food was enjoyed by our small group garden party. I have to particularly big up the Batata Harra, but in truth all dishes and generous accompaniments were delicious and super fresh and tasty. When we are all the other side of these difficult times, I can't wait to eat in so I can view the "pornographic" artwork talked of in a previous comment. We could all do with getting out more, perhaps an art gallery? I wish this wonderful local business continued support and success.

Gone off the boil this one. I did give it 5 stars 6 months ago but turned up at 6pm on a Friday in February and they had stopped serving their great food!! Odd opening hours now as well.

Love this place so much. The food, the atmosphere and staff, light my world on every visit. Just wish I could afford everything on the menu. Lol

Fantastic food always Lovely selection of mezze dishes .

Recommended by a friend, the food here was amazing. A huge variety of middle eastern dishes to choose from, I would happily have tried anything on the menu. The 'dirty chai' at the end and chilli hit chocolate finished off the meal perfectly.

Lovely little place, food was amazing and so quick. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble.

This cosy 1920's style eatery ticks a lot of boxes with its lebanese/turkish style mezze dishes and plenty of board games for kids to play with, plus friendly staff but BEWARE if you are bringing your kids, or if you don't like to look at drawings of giant penises or people in various pornographic positions while you eat. The drawings are high up but still hard to ignore as you have to walk right by them as you come in. Luckily we found a table in the inner room without these off-putting 'decorations' and greatly enjoyed the Baba Ghanoush and toasted halloumi bites. It could be a great, family friendly place if the owner would just rethink his choice of artwork. Sadly we won't be returning because we don't want our kids to end up seeing that stuff and we don't really want to look at it either.

Gripes from other reviewers are true but if you can put up with the strange service the food is very good. I think the idea is you visit for a couple of hours and play cards, read the paper, recite poetry, whatever whilst having some tapas and a glass of plonk. Quite a unique place. God knows how they make any money.

Had been recommended to visit and so glad we did. Had noted opening times so planned to visit late afternoon. Menu had a good selection although some had already sold out. Decided on five dishes to share and every single one was delicious with their lovely flavours - a mixture of cold and hot dishes. Staff were friendly and the restaurant had a lovely feel. So glad we visited and will return when we visit Norwich again.

Tried to book before hand, but told this was 'not possible and never will be' very rudely down the phone- questionable customer service?! After reading comments below, others have experienced the unpleasant customer service- what a shame as it really does put you of! Turned up at 7:30pm to find the place closed up. The door stated opening times of 10am - 7pm, which we thought was very odd for a restaurant on a Friday night. I've heard great things about the food but am undecided if I will return...

First time visit when out cycling , good coffee and superb cake , friendly service and good ambiance inside , only prob was nothing to lock bike to that I could see .

Great to see this open again after refurbishment, still fabulous (just a re are not as many sofas as before, but it does mean more people can get in! Great food, really friendly, wonderful 👍

Called up to book a table which were told was not possible and we just need to turn up which we were reluctant to do due to the location. However, we decided to go anyway and was told when we arrived that they couldnt accomodate us because "sometimes we stop serving at 6" which has never been the case in my previous visits. Thanks to this we wasted 40 minutes travelling.

Had veggie breakfast for three - loads of food including OJ and tea - all for £20! Food was really good and the interior design was very quirky but cosy and friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth another visit!

Lunchtime visit with all the family. Really relaxing setting with country farmhouse style assorted seating. There was a good selection of games and books which kept the children amused. The food was fresh and very tasty with good portion sizes. Unusually good and interesting selection for vegetarians. Lovely big pot of fresh mint tea to go with it all. Yum!

This wonderful cafe/restaurant has never failed to let me down. The quality of food is always top notch. Cooked with care and love. Yes, the service is different, no table service but I like it. The bar staff are busy,great, yet friendly and funny. All ages are welcome. A wonderful place to hang out. Personally im glad they are giving themselves time for a life outside of work by closing at 7pm. Jacky.

Brilliant food at good prices and amazingly friendly staff

My favourite place to eat in Norwich, the food is absolutely amazing. However, following the refurbishment of the restaurant/bar the hours have changed and find this very strange that they are open so early and close so early? A real shame as myself and the majority of people I know who come here would do so in the evening - really losing out on customers who love the place.

I've been twice recently and look forward to going again.It's been redecorated and looks quite charming. There are interesting plants to buy. But most importantly the food is tasty & freshly prepared. The staff are friendly, & the chef funny . The only things I don't like is that they close at 7pm and there isn't room for a separate seating area outside for the stinky smokers :(

Un excelente 'joint' para un almuerzo. En un día lluvioso fuimos a almorzar a este restaurante único, pequeño y acogedor. Disfrutamos de los espléndidos platos vegetarianos, que compartimos entre nosotros sentados alrededor de una mesa bastante pequeña. La cocina estaba deliciosa. Nos gustó, y no fue caro.

La comida era decente pero el servicio absolutamente horrible. No le presto atención al cliente, no me está haciendo un favor al darme comida, puedo ir a comer a otro lugar y ¡seguramente la próxima vez lo haré!

I love Workshop! Everytime we go we enjoy the food and they have our fav wine as well! A shame they are not open for lunch. Service much better than it was before... some new friendly faces.

Como ser vegetariano no solo es increíble esta comida, sino que las opciones que recibe son excelentes, hay tantas opciones que fue un lujo. Traje a mi familia aquí para mi cumpleaños (todos los veggys) y simplemente nos quedamos impresionados con la comida y la bienvenida recibida por la encantadora dama y el señor detrás del bar.

Vine aquí en la recomendación de un amigo y quedé impresionado. Gran decoración, fabulosa variedad de opciones veganas / veganas. Teníamos 4 platos y pan, que era abundante. La ensalada de granada era divina: hermosas hierbas frescas, tan picante. Fabuloso baba ganoush. Falafel y hummus "adecuado". Halloumi a la plancha con espinacas y un exquisito aderezo de cítricos. Personal amigable. Gran ambiente en un sábado por la noche. No habíamos reservado, pero nos las arreglamos para conseguir una mesa. Sin duda lo recomiendo y volveremos!

Popped in for a check meal with a friend. I did try and book but they do not take bookings, and I can understand why now. Really quirky place, awesome staff who really suit the place and as for the food it’s out of this world. Great for sharing and more than enough on the portions. The place was busy and just has a atmosphere where you feel relax. Give it a look if your in the area

What a wonderful cosy, lively, hipster cafe/ bar this is. Really popular with the local crowd. Tremendous Middle Eastern food including a take on pizza. Spicy baked eggs, skewered chicken thighs with soft puffy flatbread, hot sausage. Enjoyed a very sticky grey chocolate peanut butter slice. Some drinks and came to just over £40. Great atmosphere too.

Fantastic food and drinks here. Very trendy atmosphere. Vibrant and helpful staff. Nearly always busy here but it's worth it. Prices are fair. Get a mix of food so you can try all the different things they offer.

It's a long time we haven't been to the workshop as there is also the risk not to have a table. I'm so glad the place didn't change hands, it is still my favorite food in Norwich. Amazing chose of middle east tapas, I never been disappointed.

Been here many times, sometimes its difficult to get a seat as it is so popular. So far have never been dissapointed as the food has interesting combinations and the pizza’s are tasty. Has a great relaxed atmosphere too.

Food here is amazing, however, you cant book a table and when you walk in - the service is not overwhelmingly helpful.

Chilled out restaurant serving amazing pizzas and food with a middle eastern flavour. Lots of delicious and unusual dishes.

Have been here many times at different times of day and always enjoyed the tapas-type food, which is particularly good for vegetarians. Downside is that it can be very noisy and the service is often slow. Still a good meeting place and atmosphere to suit all ages though. A few tables and chairs outside, though this is on a noisy main road.

Have had two of their spicy sausage wraps since Christmas and they are delicious, and the messiest thing in the world to eat! Must branch out next time I go. In December we had the orange chicken thighs and they are amazing. How can chicken taste that good? I do think they should print out menus that you can take to the table. I mean, why not? If something's no longer available, they can just put a note on the bar.

The hummus here is literally some of the best I've tasted! Start with that then on to their massive pizzas for main. Good selection of beer too. Walk in only so sometimes it's hard to get a table.

From the outside it looked closed (just after 3 pm) as we entered I wasn’t sure if it was a bar or restaurant, anyway we ordered drinks and food and after a short wait we were served the most amazing tasty food I’ve had in a long time. This is a great find and although I live 70 miles from the restaurant I’m going back just after Christmas to have another afternoon of delicious food.

Came here with friends who promised us great tasting pizza. Now I’m not a pizza fan but this was the best I’ve ever eaten. The sides are fabulously tasty and very good value.
