Charming and cozy inn with spectacular service. I stayed here for one night and wished I could have spent more time in the area. The room was clean, comfortable and cozy, dinner was delicious, and everyone was very friendly and hospitable. Courtney was very gracious and helped me book a private taxi to Ashford International so that I didn’t have to worry about finding a ride. As an added bonus, the inn is dog friendly. Highly recommend. 5/5

Went for lunch with my husband and dog. Had a lovely glass of wine and had the small beautifully cooked fish on a warm tartare sauce with samphire and chips. The service was friendly but a bit slow in asking for our drinks order. The reason I have given four stars is because the place looked a bit grubby especially the glass in the pictures, (a lot of them had actual drip marks) and the glass on the doors had lots of finger prints and smears. Probably only visible when you are seated. When I was a waitress I would always sit at several tables before opening and have a good look as a customer. Would definitely go again though because food and atmosphere was lovely.

We've been in for a nice dinner. Ambiance is amazing, food is delicious. The waiter is a very kind, fun person 🥳 I've had a duck breast and the taste of everything together on the plate was unexpected! Maybe we have been right in for a busy night, hence the orders were served a little later than expected.

We stayed the night B&B. We had one of the attic rooms which we found to be very much to our taste with its reused floor boards as wall panelling and the bath at the foot of the bed [the loo was separate :-)]. The room had lovely views of the church yard over the road with its resident sheep. The bed was very comfortable and we especially appreciated the complimentary decanter of port, kettle, coffee machine and copious coffee pods, tea bags and milk in the fridge on the landing. For dinner I had pie of the day (chicken & mushroom) and I requested chips instead of mashed potato. The pie and spring greens were excellent and, while not cold, I would have preferred the chips to be a bit hotter. In the morning we both had the English breakfast and that also was excellent. The Woolpack is a free house and at the time that we stayed there they had two Romney Marsh Brewery ales - I tried both and they were both excellent and well kept. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Highly recommend the Woolpack for group events! We were a 13 person hens party and we spent a wonderful 4-5 hours at the Woolpack following a day of pampering at the nearby Green Farm. We had a private area which the Woolpack was more than happy for us to decorate as we wished. Ed’s communication was seamless and the service on the night was excellent. Extremely easy going pub with a great atmosphere and friendly staff!

Just been for a meal with my wife and I must say, when we first walked in we both felt it looked very quirky which we both liked. My wife asked if we could sit by the open fire which they said we could We looked at the menu and my wife commented on the limited choice due to the meals we were informed they were out of. I had a very nice starter , but the rest of the food was very underwhelming. My wife didn't enjoy her food at all but ate it because she was hungry. We didn't find the staff very welcoming and at no point were we asked if we were enjoying our meal. when we finished we paid the bill and went to leave , the server didn't say thank for our service and couldn't have moved away from us any quicker then she did. It's a real shame as I was really looking forward to trying the Woolpack ,

Loved the place from the moment of arrival and knew within the first 20 minutes that it's heading for a 5 star review. This pub/inn stands out because of the special atmosphere due to a lot of beautiful design choices that keep the 16th century charm while making the pub super trendy. We are a 50+ couple but found that the place was packed with younger couples and groups (<35). Menu and bar caters for everyone. Staff very attentive. Booked B&B and staying in charming Niddy room. Loved the stylish and healthy cooked breakfast. And have a look at the outdoor area (see pics).

Very disappointed. Awful service, steak not cooked properly and being told 'the chef will not cook you another' after my plate being returned to me and put down infront of me with the steak cut in half. The chef refusing to cook another steak after cutting it in half to say if you look right in the middle it's a bit more rarer. Absolutely shocked. Will not eat there again. Also took 20 mins to get our drinks. I came here a few times throughout the years. I will not be coming to eat there again. Shame as I used to love it.

I have eaten once before at the woolpack on a Sunday and really enjoyed the food with my family so this score would have been higher. We made a booking for an evening meal tonight (the day I am writing this review) I arrived 25 mins earlier than when the kitchen opened with my one year old son in my arm. The guy behind the bar said the kitchen did not open until 5pm, no problem and I asked if we could be seated. We were given a long table that was fit for a larger booking than the 3 of us, the barman weirdly decided to put the high chair opposite where I was sitting and then vanished without even asking if we wanted to order a drink. It was almost as if he did not care where the baby sat and when my wife arrived moments later... still no drinks order. We both felt unwelcome and decided to leave. I may return to the woolpack on a Sunday when families are welcomed but certainly not in midweek!!!

Absolutely stunning experience last Sunday. We walked 5km from our B&B across the lovely countryside to reach Warehorne so by that time, we were pretty hungry. The interior decoration of the pub is lovely and traditional, very cosy. The Sunday roast was amazing coming with a huge fluffy Yorkshire pudding and enough gravy to swim in it! This a gem of a pub with rooms. Book ahead. Rooms are very comfortable although wackily quirky. It's an old place with beams so floors and walls are a little skew but it adds loads of character. Room prices vary. Ours £150 for a double bed and breakfast. Prices range from 100 to 150 depending on day and season. Car parking around the back. Although village is so quiet parking outside on the road is fine. Check in at the bar was uber friendly. Shown around the room. Deep bath at one end of the room and WC in a little cupboard. Robes and good towels. Nespresso machine. Dinner menu was good. Pub grub but wood fired pizza also. Excellent selection of wines I clouding many from the local area. We were visiting Gusbourne. Taxi or 45min walk. Breakfast from 10 to 11. Thought it could have been earlier. Only gripe. Quality was excellent. All in all highly recommended. Super friendly and oodles of charm. Well done.

I haven't been to The Woolpack for 20 years plus and coming back to the area decided to go for Sunday lunch as a party for 3. In a fabulous setting opposite the village church on a quite country road, the pub has a very pretty front garden. We decided to eat inside where we found lots of curiousty decorations to hold our attention and create discussion. The service was professional, attentive and prompt. Ales were local and from what I could see the bar was very well kept. As for the Sunday Roast..the beef was beautiful. Cooked to perfection with a generous side portion of Cauliflower Cheese. The deserts were scrummy too. I definitely won't leave it so long before my next visit!

We've been sporadic visitors to the Woolpack for years. About 3 months ago, it was an unsatisfactory visit, with bland food, not all done that well. Certainly not we had been used to. We had decided not to bother again. Today, a heating fuel lorry was blocking the road as we drove past the pub and as we went to turn round to escape, we thought, what the hell, how bad can it be? Into the car park we went. We got a table, a really nice waiter, 3 plates of nibbles and a couple of mains, plus 2 perfect pints of Harveys and a gorgeous unadulterated apple juice for the toddler. Super. They are back on form. We will be returning, and fingers crossed they remain this good. If we are being fair, the last time we were there and it hadn't gone well, was fairly soon after lockdown had been done away with, so perhaps they had just not got into their rhythm at that time. Spot on today.

Quick summary: the food was delicious, well seasoned, all homemade. The service was good (Drinks came very slowly) but they did run out of potatoes for the Sunday roast. As a picky eater the menu was quite small. We were a table of 6 visiting on a Sunday. It was booked for just after 3pm. We were sat in the middle of a small area in front of the bar, and one of us was right in the walkway, seemed a bit too awkward of a seating space for a bigger table. The chairs were uncomfortable. The small area had a boar head trophy on the wall, while looking like suitable decor I personally was uncomfortable with it (I like animals so I don't really agree with head trophies, even if this was fake, it stared at me the whole time). The service was great. Very polite staff, though drinks were a bit slow. The bar guy seemed young and nervous but adorable, possibly new (possibly a reason the drinks were slow). Our server was very professional and polite and good at building rapport. The menu was fairly small. Everything is homemade there so a big menu would be unmanageable but I am a rather fussy person and I don't like cheese, fish, or pepper/heat. My only options were the Sunday roast special without the cauliflower cheese, or the ribeye steak (the only steak offered, I usually go for sirloin). I chose the steak. It was a big steak, and absolutely delicious. The steak and the fries were both seasoned to perfection and there could never be enough of them, the fries were delightfully crispy too. The rest of the table ordered the roast, but we were told there were only 4 servings of potatoes left, more were being cooked but they would take 30-45 mins to cook. By the time we ordered all potatoes were gone so we chose to have mash instead, and as an apology the table was given 2 bowls of those perfect fries. For dessert we had some sticky toffee puds and seasonal crumbles. Both were delicious, but the crumbles came so darn hot they couldn't be eaten for a little while (had to donate my ice cream to help cool one down). The size of the crumbles was quite generous. All the food portion sizes were nothing to complain about. Be aware the toilets are styled like old castle bathrooms (basically wooden benches with holes in them, a modern toilet built under it) it was a little weird to use. It was an interesting and different style though. They are not well signed, I overheard plenty of customers, including my own table, ask for directions to them. Personally I won't be coming back, mainly because of my pickiness and lack of choices on the menu, but that was a darn good steak. The food is truly delicious though, I'd recommend others to at least give this place a try, not everyone is as picky as I am.

Lovely spot on a nice day. Dog friendly and great coffee. Parking can be a bit difficult if busy. Very friendly.

Biscuit's Tearoomlocation-iconCanterbury RoadOther cuisines

Previously visited the Tearooms when they were located outside the front of Perry Court. The food was excellent and cheese, chutney sandwiches were huge and fresh. Has to be said for the new cafe the staff are great - however the new sandwiches are appalling. Cheap supermarket, sliced bread and a smattering of grated cheese for ££. Phenomenally expensive. A huge disappointment and wouldn't return.
