Poor service, coupled with bland, expensive food, makes this restaurant one you can miss. The Sole was bland. The schnitzel dry and tasteless. My sister eats everything. Ive never seen her leave a morsel on her plate and she left half. The avocado salad with greens, was 1/2 and avocado cut into pieces with a few micro greens. I could go on, just go somewhere else. The only redeeming aspect was they brought out 3 wrong entrees at first and comped our salad.

We were so disappointed on my husbands birthday celebration. The steak was sent back twice as inedible. I asked to speak to a manager 3 times. Not one came to the table. Yes they finally took the steak off our bill but hardly an apology . We will no longer attend this pretend Wolseley after 15 years . Also his so called birthday cake was 2 small inch long tasteless cakes.

We went for afternoon tea and the experience was wonderful. From the moment you walk through the door to the moment you leave. The selection of sandwiches and pastries is spectacular, as is the presentation and service, as well as the flavor. We'd like to highlight the attention and service of a waiter from Ukraine. We don't know his name, but he was very kind and attentive to us and our 2-year-old daughter. It's definitely worth it.

Restaurant located in Piccadilly , adjacent to Ritz Hotel. Great buzzing, elegant dining space. Very important to book in advance. Classic all day dining menu. Seafood and meat dishes all good. Traditional liver and bacon was delicious as were fresh prawns starter. Often a celeb out dining in the restaurant. It’s not cheap (£650 for 3 people ..3 courses, 2 bottles and cocktails. Plus tip). My 2 family guests were held up on a train and delayed 1.5 hours, but the staff kindly let me keep the table and were very understanding. Expensive , but still a great traditional London venue and dining experience.

The Wolseley is a well-known institution in London, known for its atmosphere Its luxurious, exceptional service and delightful cuisine. It is consistently highly praised, and my experience largely matches those positive reviews. Atmosphere: * Magnificent and elegant: the restaurant exudes a sense of grandeur, with high ceilings, ornate design and luxurious seating. This is truly an impressive place that evokes a sense of old world charm. * Feels luxurious: The atmosphere is undeniably luxurious, making it an ideal choice for special occasions or a luxurious dining experience. * Feels romantic: the intimate and elegant atmosphere is well suited for romantic dinners. eater: * High-quality ingredients: the menu includes a wide variety of dishes, featuring fresh, high-quality ingredients. * Well-executed classics: While some may find the menu a bit predictable, the classic dishes are executed with precision and skill. * Expensive but worth it: The prices are on the high side, but the quality of the food and the overall dining experience justify the cost. Service: * Impeccable service: The service is consistently praised for its attention, professionalism and efficiency. * Friendly and knowledgeable staff: The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help with any question or request. Other notable features: * Excellent for breakfast: The Wolseley is especially known for its breakfast service, which is highly appreciated by many diners.

Like many others here, I found the experience OK, but disappointing and over-priced. The atmosphere is vibrant/ noisy and the decor opulent, but the food was very mediocre and expensive for what it was. The problem wasn't so much with the way it was cooked, which was generally good, but with the quality of the ingredients themselves. I had the crab starter which was as bland as anything and, had I been blindfold, I wouldn't have been able to say what it was at all. My main course was lamb which was perfectly cooked and nicely presented, but was chewy and tasteless.

Nice location and restaurant but the food and service weren't great. Went for the cream tea, the scones were not good at all (too heavy and overcooked/burnt on the bottom and top). The tea was not enough for even a full cup each and we had to ask for more. Not was expected for the reputation

My partner and I were tourists in London. After a lot of research, we decided to go with the Wolseley for our special Afternoon Tea reservation. I’m so glad we did because I can’t recommend it enough. From the moment we walked through the door we had beautiful service. The space is beautifully decorated with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows, making it light and bright. It’s certainly not a sleepy atmosphere - on the contrary it was quite bustling which gave a feel for the “London” cityscape experience. Even so we never felt rushed and really appreciated the second plate of savories they brought out to us. I also have to mention THE SCONES. It has been 7 months since our visit and I still dream about them, along with the clotted cream and jam. They are literally the best scones I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t wait to return!

I had high hopes for the food and thought it would be really good but it was just "ok" l had a the set menu but regardless of this the food could have been better. The goulash lacked flavour and the cauliflower soup was just like eatting a bowl of fatty cream. The waitress also kept coming over to try and take our bowls when we had not finished to the point that l had to say... "are we slow eaters?" the decor is beautiful but the price of the food isn't justified. My desert was £13 and l would have got better from Mark's and Spencers.

I don't really like tea and I don't know much about it, so I drank jasmine tea recommended by a staff member and it was really delicious. The staff are also very friendly. When I came alone and asked to take a picture, he happily did so haha. I was planning on eating it alone, so there was a lot left over, but if I asked him to wrap it up, he would wrap it nicely in a high-quality shopping bag! They added a little more as a service. We made a reservation for afternoon tea at 3:30 and arrived at 3:11. They guided us to the guests who came later than us, but we told them that they didn't show us until after 3:40, and they said they would check, and only then did they giggle with the staff member next to us and say they would call us soon. I went in and it was very noisy. Then I ordered afternoon tea, but the food didn't come out for an hour, so I was nervous about having to go to my next schedule. I also inquired with the staff and left about 15 minutes later, but I was too hungry to eat because of the time. I opened the lid of the scone to take a picture, but I took it away. I saw on the blog that it was refillable once, but I took the entire plate without saying anything. Aside from everything else, I was so disappointed that the reservation time was not kept and the food came out late, so I was notified of a service charge. A place I will never go to again.

Do you want to be humiliated? Then go there. The server is so rude. When I was leaving, a lady server stoped me and ask me loudly “did you pay?” Just this three words, in the middle of the way, loudly. Of course I paid. That’s so rude. She should have a thousand ways to ask, but she used the rudest one. And I told her you can check my table on your computer, she repeated again “did you pay?” Still loudly and no other words. She didn’t notice I ask for checking bill, and she also didn’t notice I pay for the bill. So her job basically is humiliating customer. I never been treated like this before.

Our group had a wonderful evening at The Wolseley, where the mix of grand European café charm and a lively atmosphere made for a memorable experience. Service was quick, staff were friendly, and the entire dining experience felt effortless. We started with the Chicken Liver Parfait and Classic Prawn Cocktail, both well-prepared and full of flavor. The Steamed Short Rib Pudding was rich and comforting, while the Roast Fillet of Turbot ‘Grenobloise’ was perfectly cooked. The House-made Gnocchi offered a great vegetarian option, light yet satisfying. To round things off, the Crème Brûlée was perfectly caramelized, and the Chocolate & Salted Caramel Tart was a decadent finish.

I’m very partial to the Wolseley no matter what they say and through how many hands it passes down. They have a robust wine list still and their breakfast are a still a number. They are probably one of the few in London that still understand the ways and means of a Maître d'hôtel. Gigondas - my favourite from the list of all reds - you’ll find here. They’ll give you some nibbles out of courtesy and good taste and despite closing nearing, they’ll not rush you. Soutine from the same brand had it from a different Château, but off the menu. Probably Colbert has one of it now but I’m a Bermondsey Soho relevant, so can’t be bothered to travel.

A Restaurant where you feel special. We went for breakfast. Since we did not have a reservation, we could not sit at the main entrance. There is a large area like a glass room on the side, we sat there. We asked if there was a place at the front, but the waiter said he would look into it, but did not respond to us positively or negatively. We didn't mind and asked for the menu. For breakfast, we ordered French toast and salmon eggs benedict. The flavors were amazing, truly the best I've ever eaten. We ordered English tea on the side. Dinnerware, cutlery and especially the tea set were silver. This makes people feel special. Since it was the morning of my wife's birthday, when we asked the waiter to take a photo of us so that we could remember it, he first ignored us and finally took our photo with a bored expression. Everything was very nice except the waiter's attitude. We paid 55-60 pounds in total for 2 people. Prices are above average, but can be preferred for beautiful moments.

The afternoon tea was nice, but we booked for 2:45 pm via OpenTable (which allowed us to book at this time for afternoon tea) only to arrive and then be told it's only served from 3:30 pm. The person at the front desk told us we'd have to rebook for 3:30, or have lunch instead. Pretty ridiculous, given it was my partner's birthday (which showed on the booking) and I'd booked far in advance. Nobody who's booked for a birthday afternoon tea is going to rebook for a lunch instead, are they? We then had to wander around aimlessly for 45 minutes, and we also had to rush our afternoon tea to get home for our puppy. I'm sure it's possible to fix this booking issue, but if not, it's The Wolseley's responsibility to check reservations in advance and call people if the booking they've made isn't actually possible. Could've done with some money off for the 45 minute delay but that wasn't offered either.

Came to the place for breakfast on a weekday. We were given a corner seat even when other seats were empty. The place wasn’t full and I could have easily reserved for the time as it was available on the website. We ordered the pancakes and the eggs Benedict, the bread for the benny as well as the pancakes were dry and seemed stale and not freshly made. The Irish coffee was the only saving grace here. I wanted to give the feedback to the chef but no one came to check on us or ask on how we enjoyed the food. There are countless great places in London that I’d rather visit. Warning: California/Oregon Native here so this review will have a west coast American bias. We went to The Wolseley for afternoon tea on our first day in London. My wife had been there several years ago and wanted me to experience it. We both did the CLASSIC AFTERNOON TEA. I selected the English Breakfast Tea and my wife went with Earl Grey. Both were brewed perfectly and served in the cutest kettles. Almost all the Kettles we saw around us were unique/different which I thought was a lot of fun. If you have never done afternoon tea it's definitely something you should experience. The clotted cream with scones was just amazing and paired perfectly with tea. The small sandwiches were mostly good. I wasn't a fan of the onion one, but the cucumber, salmon, and egg were all excellent. Our least favorite bits were the desserts, but they were okay. Just not something I would specifically go back for. I'd take more scones and clotted cream to be honest. If you're going to go for Afternoon Tea in London, 10/10 would recommend going here. You won’t be disappointed.

First things first it’s a fabulous room. Like those old school French brasseries at the railway stations. Very grand. Really good and extensive menu too. Service was brilliant throughout. My problem was that my food was a big disappointing. Might have just chosen poorly. Bubble and squeak, wild mushrooms with a duck egg sounded wonderful. Still does. Unfortunately the bubble was a bit tasteless so effectively mash potato. The mushrooms were like rubber bullets and it was swimming in some kind of thin dark sauce. Flavour unknown? Duck egg was great though. That dish needs rethinking. It was a better than average experience due to all the other elements but can’t give it very good unfortunately.

The food was lovely. Mrs KT is a vegetarian and opted for the bubble and squeak with a ducks egg but wanted the egg well done and not runny. When it arrived she said it was cooked to perfection. I had the Sea Bream, again it was cooked to perfection. We chose sparkling water with out meal but if you do want wine it is reasonably priced. Our server was great and the service was excellent, we didnt feel rushed and when we wanted to pay it was quick and efficicient. Cant really add much else except to say we will be back.

We visited the restaurant, and overall, the food and service from the waitstaff left a good impression. However, upon entering, we had an unpleasant experience: the hostess and administrator spoke rudely and with a dismissive attitude. This left a negative first impression, which does not match the level of the establishment. I hope the management takes note of this, as the experience at the entrance sets the tone for the entire visit.

We loved it; In London the best to eat in the tourist area, the varied menu and excellent service, always a waiter who speaks Spanish. Ask for Natalia.

The restaurant is a London classic, perfect for various types of situations. The food is tasty the atmosphere at times sparkling the clientele quiet. In few words, a place you can count on. And when something unexpected happens, just turn to Domenico who arrives smiling and caring and in a moment with his elegance and sweetness solves everything. Thank you Domenico for turning my birthday dinner with special friends into a beautiful memory!

We have our breakfast at this cafe on the 10/02/2025. We were being served by Antonio(Italian Waiter), who were very friendly and helpful. He even get his team to prepare a congratulation pastry for baby Ezra who are 3 months old. Food, drinks and environment are fantastic. Thanks Antonio for the excellent recommendation and hospitality

Amazing food, even better service, now this place is class. The simple scrabbled egg on sour dough toasted bread, which I order before the French Toast, regularly. if you read my reviews regularly you know why! It was tremendous, you just taste the soft, buttery, creamy, luxuriously simple scrambled eggs wonderfully toasted with sour dough one of the best scrabbled eggs on toast I’ve had. Left me speechless. Now the French Toast woaw again these top places, it had the perfect balance came with berries some jam not to sweet and maple syrup that topped of a great breakfast. Busy breakfast day very popular place but while still feeling a sense of privacy liked it a lot my sort of place perfect London atmosphere, reserve.

Worth a visit the afternoon tea is good and the price is ok for what you get. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. It does get very busy so you must book.

My partner and I went here for breakfast and it was very disappointing. Whilst the staff were pleasant the food was cold! My partner had salmon & scrambled eggs and the toast was rock hard. Not acceptable for the prices they are charging.

An excellent place with excellent service and high quality food. A lot of the items are made with wine and me and my husband do not eat pork or drink alcohol and they put in great effort to serve us a dish without alcohol, the waiters are absolutely amazing - very kind and I would come back again just for the service of the waiters, very thankful for the effort-filled experience! Please appreciate your waiters! The doorman was also very kind, his smiles to us made our night! Please thank him for us!

Came here for the classic English breakfast. Eggs Benedict were really good and a must have. However the tea could be better and the avocado toast had too much lemon. I would recommend getting the hot chocolate. Service was good and attentive. Overall a good classic English breakfast experience however it’s in the pricy range so be prepared.

Since it was our first time in the UK, we felt that trying the famous afternoon tea was a must. However, the experience fell short of our expectations in several aspects—food, tea, service, and atmosphere. Starting with the food, it was decent but not particularly memorable. We had seen reviews mentioning unlimited servings, but that wasn’t the case for us. The selection included sandwiches, scones, and a few desserts, along with a single pot of tea without refills. The scones were fine—perhaps slightly better than what you’d find at Starbucks—but nothing exceptional. The sandwiches were underwhelming, and while the desserts were enjoyable, they weren’t particularly impressive. As for the service, there wasn’t much to comment on, as it was practically nonexistent. Since we’re in Europe, we didn’t have high expectations for service, so this aspect wasn’t particularly surprising. The biggest letdown, however, was the atmosphere. The space was incredibly crowded, with tables placed so closely together that it was difficult to have a conversation without overhearing those around us. We were also seated at the very back, which didn’t contribute to a particularly pleasant experience. That said, given the price point, this was one of the more affordable “luxury” afternoon tea options in London. While we had hoped for a more enjoyable experience, we recognize that it offered a relatively accessible way to try this tradition. However, considering the overall quality of the food, setting, and service, it didn’t feel like great value for money. Overall, we’d give it three stars.

Beautiful atmosphere but breakfast service on 31 January had a lot to be desired. We were served by 4 (!) different waiters including a pushy waitress with a pony tail who jumped in and interrupted her male colleague to take over even he had already taken half of our order. Very embarrassing and unprofessional, the poor guy was bullied by her in front of customers. The finesse of this place seems to have evaporated.

A beautiful restaurant located in the vibrant, busy & lively Piccadilly! We stopped to take our chances to find a table and managed to snag the small round 2-top tucked away in the window nook near the host area. It was jam packed and service was understandably tough to get. I ordered a beer and the wife ordered tea. Everything good but would have loved to stay for a proper dinner at a (bigger) table. Next time - reservations!

It was the best cafe I've been to in London. I liked it so much that I went there twice while traveling in London. The eggs benedict was really delicious, and I was especially impressed by the French toast. It was the best French toast I've ever had. In addition, it was a really classy and luxurious atmosphere, and the gentle staff made it a memorable and happy time. I will definitely go there again when I come to London.

The rude 'service' in this restaurant left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Why does a waiter think it is appropriate to come up to two women having lunch and ask if one is the other's mother? Why does he think it appropriate to just walk away when she is evidently offended and embarrassed? Why is it OK to give full service to the prettier woman while forgetting half the order of the women he has already upset? Why does she have to ask three times for a large bill (£70.95) for two mediocre meals with no drinks. The answers? Over-priced rudeness.
