The Winterburn Pub in Calderdale

We went for a family meal and was very disappointed as a whole, the fish and chips was soggy batter. The lasagne wasn't very good either. We had apple crumble but the crumble didn't look cooked. They ran out of Zinfandel eine and had no sparkling water. The ladies toilet was also quite dirty. We always used to enjoy our meals here at this venue.

Booked a table for 5 of us last minute for a Sunday afternoon roast at beginning of September while staying in a cottage locally. Probably one of the best roasts ever. The beef was cooked to perfection as were the vegetables which were a good selection. The roasties were delicious as was the separate cauliflower cheese. The others all had the Yorkshire pudding wraps which were huge and filled with the delicious beef and two had gammon. We also ordered a doggy Sunday dinner and this came with lots of lovely meat and all the trimmings in the delicious gravy! We forgot to take pics of our meals just the dogs! Service was faultless from start to finish with great staff and beautiful views from our table too. Hopefully will visit Yorkshire and the area again soon and wouldn’t hesitate visiting The Winterburn again. Thoroughly recommended.

We went to the Winterburn for a Sunday roast dinner and it was truly the best roast I've ever had. Everything was freshly made and amazing. They didn't have the nut roast so offered an alternative of a lentil/veggie shepherd's pie , which turned out to be better than a nut roast. The customer service was incredible; we were served very quickly, the food came out in perfect timing and the staff are so friendly. Although we only went for a Sunday roast and drinks, the rest of the menu looked amazing. I highly recommend and we'll definitely be back.

We had such a great vegan meal at The Winterburn that we returned there the next evening for more food and drink☺️ We loved the food, the incredible view and chatting to lovely staff, especially Angelina who made us feel so welcome we didn't want to leave☺️ Our little dog had a doggy roast dinner both days which they do for the dogs at the pub and she loved it. It was only £3 and it was good value for money. Thank you staff at The Winterburn, especially Angelina for a great experience.

Let's start with who what and where, I travel around the uk eating out, I am not or asked to do a review on any places I eat from, Sunday lunch ???? Wow unsure who was the chef but that shouldn’t matter to me but to the owners, anyone can serve up food or destroy the ingredients used which was the case. The view from the premises was fantastic, the rest was one I don’t want to experience again. If you have a palate then don’t eat here, the area has so many quality eateries and the Winterburn isn’t one, it’s expensive for the wrong reason , food poor drinks very very expensive, I leave it up to the one who eats out to make there own decision and always say you pay you decide, my skill knowledge comes from 45 years of cheffing started at 14, if it’s a one off or a treat quality should be expected and delivered, look at other places and don’t spoil your one night out or special occasion eating at the winterburn, if it was a bad night that I visited then my review is correct as I was charged the same as there best night if they have one.

Cosy pub. Very welcoming and attentive staff. Food was good value we had 3 main meals and they were all really tasty and quite large portions. Have already rebooked for the following week

Well what an absolute Gem of a place. The warmest of welcomes, our little Dottie (a cocker spaniel) absolutely loved her "Doggie dinner" and didn't leave a thing. My Son and I ordered our food and it was as expected..... AMAZING. I can heartily recommend the Roast Beef Yorkshire Pudding Wrap, followed up with the home made Sponge and Custard. The host and staff were really accommodating and I can safely say that we will definitely be back. What a superb pub. Thankyou guys.

Visited for food before heading into Halifax yesterday evening. Very friendly and welcoming owner. All 4 meals were excellent- halloumi burger, fish n chips, lasagne and a burger. Will definitely revisit if in the area again.
