Super friendly staff and great advice on GF options. Wine reasonable. Only challenge - service a bit slow on first but this let us chat

I visited the wine club at the weekend and have to say it was a great experience. Food was simple but tasty and was great value for money . Looking forward to my next visit.

Lovely food, pizza to die for, guys serving were lovely, able to read customers if some were chatting they left them to talk otherwise they interacted with them.

Went before Xmas fantastic food, as usual big thanks to all the staff.

Been here plenty of times. Twice in last week with the lads then my wife and friends. Chilled atmosphere, lots of chat, food especially the pizzas are delicious. Service is great. Venue always clean. Wines are delicious and there's a shop I you want to buy what they stock. Highly recommend this place. It is popular.

Dreadful Dreadful first and likely last visit. Incredibly poor service. Yes it was busy but you don’t that have that many tables per staff ratio. It was apparently table service yet we had to go to the bar to request service twice. We eventually ordered food and drinks. after waiting in 30 minutes, we decided to cancel the order and leave the place still waiting for a drink. Such a shame, but a reality of the inability to service tables when table service is offered is such a shame. It appeared totally disorganised.

No booking system means turning up to be left disappointed. Inexcusable in this day and age for such a small establishment to not taking bookings at the weekend, especially for customers who are travelling miles to visit.

Just had one of the nicest pizzas I've had in a very long time, probably since I had one in Naples. Nice friendly relaxing atmosphere to eat and tipple in.

Went to wine tasting session, excellent, and value for money.

Lovely little place and food was great just a shame we were asked to finish our drinks outside due to no babies being allowed!! They didn't mind the baby being inside while we were eating thou!!

All round great experience, sit outside even in a thunderstorm 😁 Dog friendly, great food and occasional live music.

Very relaxed al-fresco drinking experience before going to the Rainhill Musical Theatre Company. They do some fun cocktails, I can recommend the limoncello, prosecco and lemon sorbet (I forget what they called it), but it would help if they have you a spoon to go with it.

Very limited choice food/nibbles, quite noisy sat inside.

A hidden delight of small plates and great selection of wines, beers etc. Great attentive service from staff Well worth a visit...

Not somewhere I'd order food from again. The pizza was a very thick dough the opposite of what I like so couldn't eat it, but it may suit some people. The fries were rubbery and not enjoyable.

Absolutely lovely place, food was amazing and the staff are so friendly. We ordered the pizzas and they were delicious, they are freshly made to order. They came at staggered times but maybe a minute or two later and as they were so good we did not mind the slight weight. They have a specials board but we ordered off the main menu. We made a reservation and I'm so glad we did as the place was packed, highly recommend you do the same to avoid disappointment. If you're in the area give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.

Excuse all the forced reviews this is genuine. I’ve never seen a more pretentious set of waitresses in my entire life time and I’ve lived in London. We were sat after much repute due to our attire, then constantly stared at like we were carrying on like a leaper, I’m a serving soldier in the Army. A girl with glasses “served us” which was more like a “hurry up and leave” than actual service. I will never return I think the service was a disgrace and I’ve never felt so small in my life

Owner and her staff were super helpful with helping me pick some excellent and affordable wines. Definitely going back and would recommend supporting this fantastic local business!

What a wonderful find in Rainhill! Who would have though it?! A little bit of class hidden by the shops. Lovely sharing boards. Too busy eating to take a picture. Another place to revisit

A really enjoyable lunch, a delicious platter of meats/cheeses and a perfectly cooked pizza. Who'd have thought you could have black pudding on a pizza! Give it a try, divine.

The manageress here is very rude, and wouldn’t let us take our food home with us as they ‘weren’t doing takeaway’.. even though we were sitting there to eat a meal (we ordered an extra pizza to take home for our sons tea after school)… was a regular customer till now, will not be going back in the future.. very disappointing..

Fantastic first visit to The Wine Club. It was very busy. We had booked a table for 4. We were greeted by a friendly lady, we ordered drinks, which arrived quickly. We then ordered a pizza and several tapas dishes. We were warned that the food would arrive when it was ready, because of the small kitchen. Everything was delicious. We have already booked our next visit.

Service was perfect and accommodating. We had a bottle of very good Rioja, paired with cheese board - loved it! On top of that Prosciutto pizza was a delicious too. And I have to mention the OLIVES...I love olives and try them everywhere I go. Here I had the best olives I ever got in restaurant in the UK! What a little gem place! Will definitely go back!

I don't live here, I was visiting from Scotland (ahm no Scottish!) so my visits are infrequent at present, neither do I know any of the staff or owners. This place has a lovely Mediterranean type menu. It has options of 'Meze' or 'Tapas' type dishes as well as some main meals which are tempting. The food is lovely, huge portions, charming, friendly staff who are just, well, nice, now that's a rarity! The venue needs to expand as this level of superb service will make it popular. Most staff walked around masked up, one didn't which is the reason I didn't give five stars. TBH, given that masks are not the best method of preventing the transmission of Covid, I'm not overly fussed! The litmus test is will I go again? The answer is a resounding yes and so should those of you reading this!😉

In normal times we would be away for our anniversary so was looking for something for our meal when we came across this... One word AMAZING... Will definitely be having again and cannot recommend enough.. Thank you.. You now have two new regulars..

Only discovered this place early December 20 and realised they offer takeaway! The nicest food and best wine, we love it!

One of my favourite places to order from, so much so that my husband keeps putting me on a ban! Nothing is too much trouble for them. I once ordered a jar of chutney and it was out of stock so they refunded me, gave me extra chutney on the platter plus a jar of a different chutney they had available. Everything is delicious and whenever we have ordered hot food it always arrives piping hot.

The wine club is a fabulous family run bar, stocking the best wines and cocktails, delicious cheese and charcuterie and out of this world pizza and small plates! In lockdown they have been delivering takeaway and wow! Absolutely perfect every single time! If you haven’t been/ ordered make sure you do! Recommend the goats cheese pizza, mozzarella dippers and the best fries ever, or the grand grazer is just amazing - plus black pudding pate and balsamic onions

The girls are always welcoming and such a relaxing place to wine and dine. I would recommend for a nice relaxing catch up with friends!

Our first order and it was fabulous.

Ordered a few bits from here, as missing it being open and the fries are delicious ( could eat them daily). It came on time and piping hot.Looking forward to the next time we order. And hopefully not long till we can sit in again.

Ordered a takeaway for 2, the food and the service was excellent. The food arrived hot and was delicious, would highly recommend the chorizo and halloumi!

We had some pizzas and cheese boards tonight, from the Wine Club, at home. Absolutely delicious , I can't recommend the food ,and service from the Wine Club enough. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Just wanted to say thanks!

Awesome food and wine. The pizzas are amazing highly recomend the prosciutto, the charcuterie boards are excellent lots of variety. Weve had a few boxes of wine from there and they have been really good quality. Little gem of a place.

The sharing platter is amazing!

I recommend the pizza it was delicious so hot and tasty we had the ndjua? Spicy pizza pepperoni and margarita and the garlic bread with cheese was the best I’ve ever tasted. The spicy sausage one was a bit too spicy for us but still lovely. Ordered again the week after on a Thursday got 2 pizzas garlic bread with cheese and mozzarella sticks and then a free bottle of wine. Excellent service, it came when they said it would price was excellent too. Can’t recommend this place enough. Staff lovely and friendly. Looking forward to try something else.

Me and the wife have ordered from the wine club before and they never disappoint us amazing cheese, meats and oils we also got halloumi fries (6 in a box) and truffle fries now they are to die for, we got a bottle of wine for free and we spent over £25 so get to the wine club and get your orders in before they run out of availability A+++++

Love this place, so lucky to have this on our doorstep. I’ve had a drink in here on plenty of occasions but decided to eat here last week as I had a friend coming to stay. The atmosphere was so cosy and vibrant and the food was fabulous. We had the cheese and meat board with chips and olives plus 2 bottles of white Rioja. Booked again for next week to try the pizza that looked lovely. Such a shame the weather was rubbish or we would have sat outside

I have always been a regular of this place but decided to pop in tonight to try out the new additional menu.Well where do I start......The goats cheese, walnut pizza is simply to die for. Even my other half who hardly compliments anything was full of praise. My favourite dish has always been Buffalo Mozzarella that I actually visit one of the most popular restaurants in Liverpool for in Childwall just for this dish...... well the winebar has smashed it out of the park and has now become the best restaurant for me for this dish. That’s quite an achievement I think. Well done to the Wine bar you have taken a massive risk in uncertain times and you guys have smashed it. We had a beautiful bottle of Sancerre and amazing small plate food and enjoyed every single thing. Attention to details in the current client was second to none. Staff lovely and helpful. Will definitely be back this week loved it that much.

First time since lockdown we ventured out to the wine bar myself my husband and 17 yr old daughter we was very apprehensive but that soon disappeared after a few minutes sat outside and was immediately impressed by the cleanliness and attentiveness of the staff. Would definitely return and recommend for a nice drink in a chilled atmosphere where you feel totally at ease with everything that is going on well done guys keep it up, will definitely be back soon x

For the first time in months my husband and I ventured out for a bite to eat and a few drinks. We wanted to go somewhere relaxing as we felt a little apprehensive about the easing of lockdown measures. On arrival we were asked to “check in” for trace and track purposes, then we took a seat at one of the spotlessly clean tables all of which had a bottle of sanitising gel. We ordered 2 meats, 2 cheeses and a bottle of Italian Red wine. Everything was absolutely lovely. Thank you to all at the Wine Club. We will be back soon

Ordered a platter and bottle of Malbec yesterday evening. Delivery was quick and, as always, the food and wine were amazing. I cannot recommend The Wine Club enough. The staff are always helpful and brilliant at recommending wines. 5⭐️

Wanted to show support for local business during these difficult times. Ordered a platter and a bottle of Malbec for Saturday - ALL excellent.Ordering process very good, but you need to get in quick as there are a limited number available. Food - a mixture of meats and cheeses with accompanying bread and crackers. Great variety and VERY very tasty.The wine was devine, wish we had ordered more. Thank you and good luck.

Ordered a grand grazer for our anniversary. It did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and top quality. Would highly recommend!!

We decided as part of our VE day celebrations and to end our day, we would treat ourselves to a Cheese and Meat Platter from the Wine Bar Rainhill and once again we weren't disappointed. It was jam packed with delicious cheeses, meats, different dips, relish and jams to compliment the cheeses together with sundried tomatoes, pickles and olives and an assortment of crackers and breads. The platters are always beautifully presented and fresh and the delivery lady was lovely. Thank you so much for trying your best in keeping your delivery service going and spoiling us lucky customers. Can't wait for this to be all over so that we can safely come into the bar and treat ourselves to more food and drinks with friends.

Having visited this lovely wine bar previously we were so pleased to see a delivery menu during lockdown. Excellent communication, a very timely delivery and lovely platter and wine . Non of the quality was compromised with the delivery service and the only thing we were missing was the bars lovely atmosphere. The Wine Club has adapted to the times, and now offer an excellent delivery service, for both wine and food. Orders are taken once a week and delivery of wine happens on the Thursday.They have always offered an excellent range of wines, and have created a delivery menu to match.

I'm already a big fan of this local wine bar, but since COVID19 changed the world, they have been outstanding in their ability and willingness to adapt to the new normal. Every week they've offered a delivery service for their extensive (and beautiful) wine list. I've ordered a couple of crates of their Favola Prosecco (I can't see myself drinking any other brand after this) and they've delivered it to my gate, safely distanced at all times. When their food suppliers have been able to supply, the Wine Club has offered food deliveries too. I'm keen to support local business at the best of times, but they make it easy with their quality products and excellent customer service. I'm sure we all want the lockdown to be over, but the Wine Club make it much more pleasurable until that's the case.

Hired this place out last Sunday for my sister in laws baby shower. We had a great time! The Prosecco was flowing and the canapés where gorgeous, especially the pork scratchings and ham bread sticks. Staff where great as always, putting up with all us drunks! Deffo recommend the grapefruit gin. And would hire out again! Well done girls!!!!!

Have been to The Wine Club on many occasions . Lovely atmosphere , excellent knowledge of the food and drink menu and nothing is ever too much for the staff . Last night I even popped in for a takeaway cheese and meats board and had a lovely rhubarb Gin while I waited . What a lovely venue and amazing wine bar. Have already recommended to all to my friends and family . A must visit !

I visited the Wine Club with family who I was staying with for a couple of days. They hadn’t been there before either but had received many recommendations so we thought we’d give it a try. Well, I was blown away by the whole experience! A friendly, warm greeting when we arrived. Professional, knowledgeable employees who chatted to us about the wine list and gave us excellent recommendations on what wine to order. We actually ended up staying much longer than we’d planned (so many different wines to try!) so we decided to order some of the meat and cheese boards to share which were just perfect.

Absolutely brilliant just love the place, bringing so much live to the village 🍷🍷

I went to The Wine Club with a friend this evening , as I have done a number of times before. I will say usually we love this little place and consider it to be a local gem..... but tonight I have left feeling very unhappy, unhappy enough to write a review , when usually I consider that 'life is too short.

Being local we have visited the Wine Bar on a few occasions which have always been great, yesterday we attended the bottomless brunch and all I can say is WOW, from the food, to the drink, to the service, to the entertainment it was all first class, the hosts where eager to top your drink up constantly, plenty of food, and a great atmosphere would highly recommend this place and if you get chance to attend one of the special events your in for a treat and definitely won’t be disappointed. Thanks to all the staff for making it such a great afternoon, keep up the good work.

We came here a group before heading to the races for a hen party - id never been before but can’t wait to return! The place looked amazing & the service we had was lovely (particularly for a wet early Saturday morning...)

We came here for a quick drink after work. The selection of wine was excellent and the bread and dip was really tasty. The service was fantastic.

Always come in here for a drink. Staff very welcoming, great atmosphere and music. Tasted a few of the wines but the grapefruit gin is delightful. Olives are a must! They are so tasty, juicy and massive! Pork scratching worth an order also! Well done!

Went to the rose wine tasting event at the wine club this week with 6 friends. We all had a brilliant evening and it was the first visit for some of us but definitely not the last. A relaxed way to learn about and taste really good quality wines that you might not normally try. Rochelle was a great host very knowledgeable about the wines and you can tell she is passionate about the topic. The place never fails to please, from the staff, the food and ambience it’s always a great visit. Excellent value for money and highly recommended

Visited here again this week with family. Same great service & wines, the food platters are brilliant for a snack with quality cheeses and meats, plus great house wines and the early saver, at £20, including wine is fantastic. And don't miss the olives & pork scratchings - simply delicious! Would thoroughly recommend a visit

Oh Rainhill, you continue to offer delights to us hicks from Prescot. Euro-style outdoor drinks and it was all started by this place. Now the whole square is like that. Mix in good service, curated wine and gin selections and a fairly reasonable price and it's all good. You don't mind if we borrow the idea in our town, do you...?

We visited for the Bottomless Brunch in June! Wow! Such good value, super friendly, lovely staff, constantly topping up our glasses and the sharing board was lovely too. We'll definitely be back!

The drinks and food were great and as we like to keep it local was an enjoyable evening. The only downside was it was unbelievably loud in there!

Finally got my boyfriend to join me here this evening at a wine and charcuterie tasting. Amazing products (sobrasada and ossocollo were our favourites, these are available on the custom platters all the time), friendly service and a lovely place to sit and enjoy a few drinks. Can’t recommend this place highly enough, would much rather drink here than anywhere in Liverpool - staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. Can’t wait to come back and enjoy more of the award-winning Malbec.

Visited last weekend, in hope we would get a table and to our delight we did! Perfect little wine bar, nice decor, great service sand selection of drinks. Had a lovely atmosphere, very relaxed! Can’t wait to go back!
