The Wine Bar in Canterbury

Having ate here twice in the same number of weeks, I found the dishes created a lavish dining experience and well presented in both cases. (The lamb was a definite winner for me.) A big shout out to the smiley waitress Annabelle, who provided an exceptional, attentive and friendly service throughout.

We had the most amazing meal here last night. Everything was so well cooked and delicious! We had a very warm welcome and we’re not rushed in any way. Would definitely recommend and will go again (and again!)

Fantastic place to eat and drink, the food is excellent and the atmosphere the same, we've been using the Wine bar for years and is one of Herne Bays little gems. Had our Ruby wedding anniversary here and Tony (Chef) Lisa and Abigale, done a fantastic job.

Going to a concert Saturday evening, popped in on the off chance are we glad we did food fantastic all cooked fresh owners very friendly,definitely going again

Fantastic family run restaurant. We had the squid and also the garlic prawns for starters and we both had chicken with mushrooms for mains. All dishes were cooked to order and the flavour and quality was excellent. The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and we did not feel hurried at any point. If you are looking for a really wholesome meal in a intimate setting, you will not be disappointed. Superb friendly service and look forward to our next visit. Please call in advance to make sure you get a table.

We’ve been here quite a few times now and it is always a great night out and the food never disappoints. Nothing is too much trouble, Lisa is always happy to accommodate. Tony cooks everything just the way you want it.

Went to The Wine Bar last week with my wife on our anniversary. Found ample choice on the chalk-board menu, and enjoyed two different courses each, all of which were fantastic. The wonderful friendly service which we recieved throughout helped make this a very special night for us.

So friendly, knows menu to explain dishes and great on wines. Food was great and good choice and service good, attentive but not over the top. Thoroughly recommend, thanks for a great time

8 of us went for the Mortimers staff Christmas meal. Just us oldies as the youngsters did an escape room! Booking, pre-ordering etc was efficient. We received a warm welcome and drinks arrived promptly. Whether it was pate, home made meatballs or soup, roast turkey with all the trimmings, sea bass in lemon and lime butter, chicken wrapped in bacon, or slow cooked pork belly, it was all delicious and served piping hot. We were in Herne Bay too early for the film we went to see. So what is there to do on an overcast Thursday evening in Herne Bay to fill the time. The answer was...not a lot. Then 'The Wine Bar' came into view. We ventured down into the basement where it is located. The decor reminded me of my student days in the 1970's. Mis-matched chairs and tables closely laid out beneath a low ceiling. It was quite busy for a weekday so looked promising. We were greeted with a cheery welcome and ordered two glasses of Shiraz. The wine was well priced and good quality. Sitting at a table for two I glanced at the food being served. It all looked tasty and made me wish we hadn't already eaten. The wine and conversation flowed so well that we nearly missed the film!

Have tried to book a table before but haven't been able to because its so popular and now i can see why , i booked a table for myself and my partner for his birthday i had the lamb and my partner had a burger and it was really nice , i have to say the lamb was absolutely delicious its what i will be having next time we go which will be very soon .
