Popped in here yesterday afternoon, after a very large Sunday lunch, at the George. We needed a walk & walked past, realised it was open, so turned around and pop in . What a great choice of drinks & friendly service to. Add to that warm , friendly locals & it’s definitely a place we will return to

Arrived at the wine bar around 10.20 pm, no one on the bar, waited for over 5 minutes for barman to turn up, no apology and if he was doing us a favour in serving. This might be a great place to go to, but not when you get poor service like this. Over priced as well.

Love the Wine Bar, friendly staff, good atmosphere, indoors and outdoors areas great in the Summer, and 2 doors away from the Tobie Norris

What a lovely place! Cosy and friendly atmosphere and the wine was wonderful, clearly chosen by someone who knows about wine. We had a problem with our booking but this was resolved in a kind and thoughtful way so it dis not spoil our evening. Can’t wait for our next visit.

We came here the other week. We found the wine to be over-priced and nothing special. Although it was quiet, the grumpy barman didn't even acknowledge us leave. Probably wouldn't go back.

The Wine Bar is always a special place for myself and my dazzling wife Deborah. Whether in the main bar or garden it always attracts lovely people which gives the bar a special vibe! Although we live in Birmingham now we still make the effort to drive down once a month and the 3 hour round trip is always; always worth it! See you all soon. Mark & Deborah Chadwick

Really nice little place with outdoor seating in winter it will get over crowded I guess but a great little place just off the town centre

We popped in a for a couple of glasses of wine on a hot summer's afternoon and although the staff had changed, everything was still first rate. Good wines, very busy but nothing too much trouble.

Loved it , was quite busy and bar staff and everyone friendly. We sat inside first but then went outside which was very comfortable. The wine we had was very good.

What a nice little place this is. Wife and I went in for an afternoon wine and we sat out in the rear courtyard garden which is a real suntrap. So relaxing and civilized, we had a really enjoyable hour and a half. Good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Will go again

My group Peterborough Friends often travels to Stamford to this lovely little Wine Bar. There is a wide selection of wines by the glass and the cheese plates are delicious and excellent value. It is so lovely to find a bar interested in serving good wine rather than just focusing on beer drinkers, as seems to be the norm in so many other establishments.

We come here all the time so decided to book a table on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately it was not the experience we hoped for. We spent over £1000+ as a party of 10 but over the course of the evening (5 hours) we broke two glasses accidentally, one being brushed by a long coat as we were getting ready to leave. Following this we were met with hostility and rudeness by the female staff member behind the bar. The staff member muttered under her breath as we getting ready to leave, well in ear shot of the whole group. Considering we are regular customers we would hope that our custom is more valuable than two glasses. Edit* The manager has since been in touch to apologise about the service received.

We came here for a few drinks after the England game. Good atmosphere and quick service. Not cheap but worth a visit, swish inside.

I came here with a group of girlfriends all the tables were Booked for late afternoon so I would recommend pre booking but we were ok arriving at 2 . We sat inside and out and the staff were very good getting us a table inside when the rain came . Its got a nice relaxed atmosphere and I will return soon .

Lovely but limited lunch selection, but being expanded I think. Sat outside under cover of umbrellas in stormy weather. Highly recommend the New Zealand S.Blanc as recommended by the ever so lovely 'Jazz', herself a N.Zealander!

Well organised with staff around for drinks collection and service. Garden spaced out but a pretty place to drink. Drinks on app much quicker than other places we've visited recently. Range of gins great and loved the mixed platter too. We will return very soon !

Really lovely afternoon on the first day of outdoor eating/dining in a really lovely setting. However cannot believe all the people moving between tables and hugging and kissing between tables , really feel there needs to be stricter rules in place here....we are in the middle of a pandemic!!!!!!

My husband and I enjoyed a few cocktails here which were very reasonably priced and easy to order via the app. The bar staff were really friendly and we were given a great table at the front of the bar. I do recommend booking as lots of people were being turned away.

We had a day eating and drinking around Stamford and had booked here for a drink, they do lovely wines lots to choose from and brilliant prices, pretty little courtyard outside to sit and enjoy the sun, they wanted me to order drinks from my phone but their was no WiFi provided so we ended up ordering at the bar.It’s nice for a casual drink, I did see a member of staff smoking outside a lot witch personally I think is very unappealing but it wouldn’t stop me from going there as it is casual.

Pop in for a few wines after eating in the mad Turk on a Friday night. Wine list extensive and good. Staff friendly and helpful with good knowledge of the wines. Large beer garden for summer days. Busy and vibrant place.

Great atmosphere, lovely garden at the back

Calls itself a wine bar to sound posher than it is, yet probably has more gin in stock... Staff more knowledgeable on the latter! Busy on a weekend, popular local spot, great terrace area outside especially on summer nights but this shuts early in the evening I’m assuming due to neighbouring properties and noise.

Great selection of gin and wine, with a fab cheese and meat board. Perfect for a warm sunny day

Bit overpriced , service and food not so good . Not recommended much better places in Stamford to eat and drink.

If you charge high end prices you expect service, knowledge and clean glasses to match. Very disappointed.

This place has a great choice of wine and are even happy for you to have a taste if you are not sure which to choose.The garden is like a hidden gem, an oasis in the middle of town. If you get a sunny day as we did when we went it is just the perfect place to sit with a nice chilled glass of wine and while away the time. Staff friendly and helpful.

Drinks and a shared board in a quiet and cosy atmosphere. Perfect for a couple especial day (working day).

hidden gem ,popped in for a drink before dinner at the mad turk next door , just next door to the popular turkish restaurant, a small wine bar with a garden . It is very busy from late afternoon pets are welcome

Lovely little place with great and knowledgeable bar staff. Only one lager but thats not what you're going in there for as the wine and gin selection is epic. Recently upgraded from fever tree tonics to specialist 'spirit enhancers' which make it even better. Also now do premium wine by the glass rather than having to but a whole bottle (some super technical gadgetry involved) which is perfect for those that just want to savour a fine wine in the afternoon. Can't fault it, definitely one to visit.

Start the night here every time we are out in Stamford, great wine choice but even better Gins. It can be tight for space where busy but this adds to the atmosphere A must

A great night out. We started in a private room in the back trying three different types of gin with a variety of tonic waters. We then joined the main bar which had a great atmosphere, was busy and had a great selection of gins. A great night and I would highly recommend it. I really hope that they look to open up a wine bar in Oakham.

We came here on the recommendation of a friend (a fellow American) currently living in Stamford. He wanted to bring us to his favorite bar in town. He said it was the first bar he found there when he moved and he just felt really comfortable/comforted by the atmosphere. I could almost instantly understand what he meant. The staff and the other patrons all interact together, sharing a joke, a wine recommendation, or a local story. The wine selection was diverse and delicious. I'm grateful my friend has such a place to call home and I can't wait to visit with him again.

Before dinner we decided to drop into The Wine Bar, the staff were extremely welcoming and the choice of gins was great. They served them perfectly in large glasses with lots of ice and different companying berries depending on the flavour of gin.

Came across this gem of a place whilst walking round a hot Stamford with friends, decided to go in for refreshments and stayed all afternoon, reasonably priced bottles of wine, had a lovely cheese and meat platter to share, which was yummy!! We even went back on the evening to sit in the garden after our evening meal to sample more wine and gin.

The Wine Bar has become my local. Simply stunning bar, with fantastic Gin and Wine collection and an incredible sun trap garden. The team always go above and beyond to make each and every visit superb!

This small, almost tiny, wine bar sits in one of the most beautiful of Stamford's streets. It offers as cosy and convivial atmosphere with good wines

I like this place a lot. Friendly staff and a Great social garden - Not a lot of space during winter. Over 25 age range so NO idiots which makes it a good venue.

Returned to enjoy a drink after purchasing vouchers, enjoyed Rioja whilst waiting for a delayed friend and felt very comfortable at the bar on my own due to the friendly crowd both sides of the bar. Great service from Stephen, a real asset to the business. Thanks, will be back.

A few of us tried out this wine bar Saturday afternoon and were very pleased with the selection of wine available by the glass and bottle, served in lovely glasses. The wine bar has a lovely garden too which meant we could enjoy the sunshine.

This is not a large wine bar, having just two rooms and a garden. They have a reasonable selection of wines that changes regularly and, as you might expect, a range of gins.It is very busy from early in the evening but you can reserve tables. Dogs are welcome, but if you go on a busy night then it is fairer to them to leave them behind.

Popped in for a drink before dinner at the Mad Turk next door. Friendly staff, good atmosphere and tasty Prosecco served in lovely glasses. Meal next door was okay but nothing special - wished we'd stayed at the wine bar as they were serving what looked to be lovely tapas platters. Went back to the wine bar after our meal which was packed by then but managed to get a couple of seats at the bar. The two young staff, a young lady and a young man who chatted to us whilst serving and told us all about the different gins they sell. Going back there for lunch today with my hubby.

Been here twice - I don't live in the area but I come back whenever I visit my friend who lives in Bourne.1) It does get busy because it's so popular and a small establishment. 2) Don't let it put you off - if you move towards the back you can sit outside or in their other small room at the back with tables!! It's worth the wait to stay 3) Try to Brockman's gin - it is the best!! Definitely a great place for a pre-dinner drink or just to chill with your friends. It's noisy because of the popularity and size but it's a bar! Staff are lovely!!

Great cocktails, awesome decor, but packed. Very difficult to make your way to the toilet. Vibrant, young, energetic crowd means this place can be a bit noisy.

Lovely venue in an historic building. Amazing selections of wine and gin. Fabulous out door terraced areas, served by the friendliest and knowledgeable team. Gets very busy, but adds to the atmosphere of the place. Always packed with friendly locals. Great place to socialise! Top marks!

Perhaps one of the more glamorous bars in Stamford. Accomplished and well dressed individuals wine away their time huddled together around candlelit tables or lining the bar which is cobbled together from surplus wooden floor panels. Just like the edge of the bar no corners have been cut. Innovative use of space and a mix of simple but charming touches create a unique and popular environment. Moretti beer on tap and countless choices of wine lubricate proceedings. The wine garden is a treat with olive trees and lighthouse sized gas burners.

Buzz is to only word to describe this place, looking for a crystal clean wine glass and variety of winos than go for it..

Friends recommended this new wine bar & we were not disappointed. The staff are fantastic, and are very knowledgeable about their wines, and also we discovered about cocktails too. We didn't eat here as we booked elsewhere so can't help you on that side of the business. A great atmosphere, great selection of wines and will definitely return here. Would recommend you book a table before going if you like to sit!

Nice bar, conveniently located, and friendly knowledgeable staff. Will be visiting again soon. I recommend the Sauvignon Blanc

Service good but not a place to talk over a glass of plonk. Too noisy and rowdy. Prices quite high and choices limited for average priced wines Evenings busiest. Open all day and close to other ancient watering hole.

This is our 'go to' place in Stamford - whether its a big night out our popping in for lunchtime coffee, it never disappoints. Alex, Steve and their team are excellent, and you won't be disappointed!

I really like the Wine Bar in Stamford. It's very small but cosy and popular with adults who appreciate trying different wines in a nicer atmosphere to a normal pub.

Our first visit to the wine bar was one wet evening, we arrived about 4-30 only ones there we ordered brilliant bottle of Malbec , lovely large wine glasses they do make a difference, also a large tray of cheese and charcuterie wonderful plenty of fresh bread , it slowly filled up good atmosphere. Since then been on Friday evening love it but very busy good vibes.

Just a truly wonderful space with excellent choice of drinks and great service. The service is excellent and a lot of thought has gone into what they do and don't stock!

Dropped in during a wander round Stamford. Very friendly, great choice of gins (with suggestions on what to try). Very knowledgeable staff with good understanding of the wines they offer. Food was good as well.

This is my favourite bar to go to in Stamford. They have a great selection of gin and the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful! I had my 30th celebrations here (about 30 people) I originally booked the back of garden but the weather on August bank holiday weekend was pouring down, the staff and owners were really helpful with allowing me to move it to the room in the back. They helped my family decorate and sort everything at the last minute (as we were hoping the storm would pass)! They just made the whole thing easy and hassle free. My friends and family had a lovely time and I had a great birthday! If you are in Stamford you have to go here for a drink - you won't regret it!

Popped in here for a drink before dinner as we had previously been here in the nicer weather and taken advantage of the patio garden at the back. Without the garden this bar is very small and you should expect to stay standing.The pros... For a gin drinker this place is great as they have a shelf full of different and unusual gins , not to mention a decent range of tonics and mixers. In fact they had a pretty decent shelf of spirits and friendly bar staff to free pour it.The cons...the bar staff although friendly were young and inexperienced. We ordered a bourbon cocktail which the bar maid assured us she could make, but then proceeded to google it and follow the recipe on her phone. When free pouring alcohol it's easy to get it the proportions wrong and unfortunately, get it wrong she did! You're paying in part for the location so it's quite pricey. We don't mind this if it's absolutely worth the money, but unfortunately on this occasion it wasn't money well spent. My advice? Pop in for a G&T or a jug of Pimms but steer away from the cocktails.

We visited after reading reviews and would recommend for a lovely sunny garden. We sat and drank delicious wine outside in the sunshine. The staff were friendly and if we return to Stamford will definitely go back to this great wine bar
