The White Swan in Cheshire West and Chester

Adorable pub! Not sure on our waitresses name but she had blonde hair and dc martins and was so nice with us - genuinely lovely service that didn't seem stereotypically scripted! Dog friendly and the food was gorgeous. We came in expecting average pub grub and we were entirely wrong - prices are brill too! Steak and ale pie, around £13 and a fat bowl of pasta for £12!

Food was fantastic. Great service, atmosphere was pleasant, even though we went when the football was on. Would definitely come here again.

Had a lovely meal here, just before Christmas. On the way to catch the overnight boat from Birkenhead. Great food and friendly service, Will be calling again.

Had a very enjoyable visit this evening, food and service was spot on and couldn't fault anything. Pub is warm and cozy and beautifuly decorated and beer garden looks great, can't wait for spring to enjoy fully. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of food but let me tell you the food was delicious and hot and wait time was perfect. I opted for the Chicken ballotine served with well seasoned creamy mash , squeaky green beans and rich gravy 😋 and the wife went for traditional fish and chips which she let me try some and it was delicious, batter was perfect and I'm from a seaside town so no my fish & chips. Was a little greedy and added a side of salt & pepper chicken bites.... equally delicious just unfortunately to full to try a dessert 😔.. . next time! We also had 2 pints and Bill was only £43 worth every penny as portions were great 👍 Nice to see everyone enjoying there visit and also nice to see a dog friendly pub 😀 Hats off to the Lady who looked after us, sorry didn't catch her name but extremely friendly and professional 😉 Thank you so much to the kitchen for making us such a lovely meal and will be bringing our friends next visit. 1st time customer. Found this establishment through google search for dog friendly pub. What an amazing place! Can't wait for summer evenings with the family here. Food was amazing and service was fast, friendly and polite. Portions are plentiful and delicious home cooked. The perfect Sunday roast. Complimens to the chef and all the staff for a very warm and friendly welcome, especially Jamie. Thank you for welcoming our little dogs into this wonderful establishment. ❤️. Almost forgot to mention. Thank you for sorting the dogs with their cooked chicken. They demolished it! 🐕 💕.

Eat there regular and not really had a bad meal on several years. Clean inside, good service. Maybe a little pricey but it's worth it

If you are taking a trip to Cheshire oaks this is ideal, just a few miles away. The service is excellent, food gorgeous and affordable. 2 mains and 2 drinks for£20! Highly recommended.

Beer garden was okay, beers on tap was okay and the kitchen closes early on a Sunday overall an alright pub good for family.

Such a nice little pub, great cask ales, nice menu and excellent food and service. Staff have always been very friendly and they have a great outdoors seating area. Also has a carpark at the back. Whilst not super local whenever we are close we always make a bee line here as they are consistently great.

Food good, needs more dining spaces at times, but overall great staff.

The White Swan was new to me, praps cos it isn't on the main road. And it was an excellent experience. The food was delicious, the staff are lovely, genuinely friendly, & prices are very reasonable. We had 2 mains + 2 puds + 2 drinks, all excellent. We will definitely go again.

Lovely staff, super accomodating. Drinks are great, the atmosphere is enjoyable and exactly what I was after. Also, the food? Top notch, everything you'd want from your local. All round a great pub. I've been coming for a couple months (when I get the time, which is less than I want) and would absolutely recommend to anybody in the area.

Friendly staff, good beer and dog friendly, large covered area outside if too busy indoors and plenty of outdoor tables for the summer months - all that and good food too who can ask for more.

Was one of my locals 40 years ago. It's a bit posher now but I can honestly say in over 40 years of boozing it's the first time I've brought Lamb Chop dinner home 😀. Very tasty too.

Had a nice family meal here in December. Very busy at he time but the servers coped well. Bearing in mind there was 14 of us in total they got all of our meals out to us in good time and we all enjoyed it. Solid choice of pub for a few drinks or a little meal out.

Absolutely wonderful food and staff very friendly, happy and attentive. The decor is modern but with a twist with old photos of Ellesmere Port scattered around the building. Great atmosphere. A wonderful establishment for an evening out but also great for daytime gatherings with family and friends. I highly recommend.

Not happy with my visit today. There is nothing on the menu for vegetarians and although I realise it is a reduced menu at the moment, I'm sure room could be found for at least one vegetarian option. After asking I was offered a veg burger, which I had, but I was charged £9.50, which is the charge for a gormet meat burger which includes onion rings, coleslaw, cheese, none of which I received with my veg burger. I did point this out to the member of staff who took the payment but the response was complete indifference.

Team have done a great job expanding the outside space. Staff working really hard to serve people as quickly as possible, the whole team polite and friendly. Didn't have a booking but they still managed to fit us in for food which was tasty and good value as always.

My family and I have just been to the swan for a meal I had pie chips delicious hubby had curry delicious 2 children had chicken burgers delicious the staff was amazing well done on covid cleaning yes it was a bit chilly however very nice well done everyone

Today an an elderly friend of mine left due to the attitude and performance of staff. This evening I got talked to like a child for not obeying an order I couldn't hear. I am partially deaf and the staff member was so rude it was unreal. Eventually left after ordering a pint and giving up after half an hour waiting. Terrible service for somewhere that's is very expensive for the area.

I used to say this place had the best Amstel in Ellesmere Port , even after being about abit I can safely say it has the best Amstel in the UK .... it’s probably the best Amstel outside of Amsterdam !! How do they do it ? Nobody knows but if you live within 150 miles of the white swan you better go and find out !! Food and staff are also boss

Tasty meal, pay up front (and for each item) which is unusual, each drink, desert, etc so gets a little bit disruptive? Beer was good too.

We only just wanted to see what the place was like. The service and meals were excellent and the staff were attentive and friendly. If we are ever in the area again we will certainly have a meal here.

Cleaned regularly....friendly and attentive staff...abidding by all covid 19 guidelines....well done guys...wouldn't drink anywhere else

I couldnt fault it, the staff and the manager did everything they could to make things run smoothly, felt very comfortable and safe,. Well done, would highly recommend it. Food was good, service was great, thank you for a good evening in these strange times.

Visited with friends for lunch. We all had something different to eat and everything was hot, tasty and nicely served. We will definitely be going to The White Swan again.

Food was shocking. T bone steak was tough and fatty, tripple cooked chips were actually frozen chips Peppercorn sauce was deffinatly from a packet. My wife got chicken pie, it was swimming in garlic sauce , it did not say that it was in garlic sauce, also said came with seasonal veg turned out to be just garden peas again it said triple cooked chips but were actually frozen, think the menu was decieving to what I thought we were getting, was not what we actually got, never put a review on any web site before but just feel like they need to say on their menu what you are actually getting dont say sesonal veg just say garden peas, say if the pie is in garlic sauce, triple Cook chips usually means home cook chips not out of a packet.

Visited here during Covid 19 so there was a reduced menu but still many things to my liking.We were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome and shown to our table.The food came in reasonable time and was hot, presented well and tasted amazing.Good quality burger and would definitely visit again.Best thing, they accept cash which I recommend people do.
