Called in on way back from Thetford originally planning to stop at another pub/restaurant nearby but the white Lodge looked more appealing. Rather empty (and a bit cold) on entering but it was 1200. Pleasant service Great menu with good range of GF dishes. Why do other places find it difficult to offer GF dishes? My wife had crispy chilli beef to start and fishcakes as a main. Bothe were excellent in taste and presentation. I opted for the fish goujons in a ciabatta and whilst OK it could do with more fish and less batter. Overall a lovely lunch, good service and tasty food. Just maybe turn the heating on b4 opening 😉

It was busy for a Thursday lunchtime so worthwhile booking if you can. A good quintessentially old English thatched pub/restaurant. Well worth a visit.

Popped in for a drink - and to browse the menu. Lovely staff team in the revamped building, making a lovely warm & bright environment to enjoy your food & drinks within. Well worth a visit, check out the availability first - it’s going to get busy!! Lovely ☺️

You tend to sit at long bench tables, but the thing l found is just how noisy people's chatting is from other people's tables and l had to take my digital hearing aids out so l could hear what the family were saying on our own table. The food was very tasty but not the best value. Expect £20 to £30 each for a two course meal and a drink.

Great food. Liver and bacon with garlic mash was delicious. Plenty of room and great service. The ginger sticky toffee dessert was amazing all at a reasonable price person. Really impressed

Have driven past so many times, but today we decided to stop by.. Pleased we did... A very quiet day, a lovely meal and polite friendly service.. Very well worth the visit... Also a really nice selection of Veggie options.. Though I had their burger and it was delish..

Fabulous meal, best Sea bass I've had in ages and lots of it. My friend had equally generous and delicious portion of lamb's liver and bacon. Lovely attentive service too, would definitely recommend

We’ve been going to the white lodge for years held plenty of occasions there and hire the back restaurant twice - went for NYE since the new owners have taken over , booked weeks in advance and invited friends over for the night to join us, when we arrived half the menu wasn’t available not just a few things were talking around 10 things so we were already left with minimal choice, wasn’t even shown to our table just told to “go and sit over there “- took ages to order drinks and even longer to order food, when the food finally arrived it was horrific- I ordered the house burger and it was completely raw just pure mince inside , everyone else ordered a roast and no one could finish it is was that bad quality, the young waitress took my burger back and I had to wait over half hour if not more for a new burger to which I asked to if I could have it taken away as everyone had finished to be told no,leaving the whole table to wait whilst I ate. I addressed my concerns the next day to which the reply was so poor they basically advised me to come back again and give them another try, I sent a follow up email for it to be completely ignored.- Don’t bother eating here it’s not what It used to be and I won’t be returning.

Marvellous, food good, beer good, and attentive staff. Food was hot, and arrived well presented. Wofe had a roast i jad chilli beef which was beautifull. Desert was nice too. Will return again. Wife enjoyed it also 😃

Had the roast this time plates cold and food parsnips barely cooked and the beef was described as pink and wasn't, the service was nice as was the ale .

Been there a couple of times over the last few weeks and we absolutely love it! We will definitely be eating here more often. Food is delicious, atmosphere is lovely (we were sat by the open fire this evening) and customer service is brilliant. Would highly recommend this place! 😊

Really nice food, but the best part of twenty quid for steak and kidney pud and chips at lunchtime is a bit steep!

Delicious food with options for gluten and dairy free. Very friendly staff. Was very busy, but food was served in good time. Will definitely be going back.

Went for a Christmas evening dinner with friends. Main course was bit dry and not overly hot. Took 2 goes to get cranberry sauce, by which most were half way through course. Nice place needs to sharpen up on food side.

Was a family treat just before Christmas, fantastic friendly staff was very helpful with our requests, absolutely delicious food will certainly be coming back again to try some more delicious food and drinks 😋 Five stars all round!!!

Such a shame.....the previous landlord ran the pub brilliantly. My wife and I rarely ate at the pub; we tended to nip in for a lunchtime drink instead. When it reopened in October we arrived to end up drinking in what looked like someone's sitting room....as they're moving house: hardly any furniture, boxes everywhere and (I assume) the landlord in conversation with a representative (couldn't this business conversation take place in a private area instead?). When I asked why it was such a mess (not all drinks were available either) we were told that "the new furniture hasn't arrived"! My view? If the pub isn't ready, don't be greedy, reopen when it is FULLY ready! Moving on over a month: 24th November.....no change...."furniture still hasn't arrived! We left and went to spend our money in the Gamekeeper in OB instead.

Was very disappointed with the food and the service. Food was well presented but was luke warm, I'm not sure they are aware that food should be served at a minimum temperature of 63 degrees, its actually against the law not to and of course the risk of food poisoning. Was offered 10% discount, but really wasn't enough as we couldn't eat and enjoy cold food. Sweets were very small and not home made, needless to say we won't be returning. Definitely avoid, the stag is better and the service is always good, and we all know that is medioka!!

Sadly disappointing after so much anticipation. We didn’t book as it was mid week but we’re made to stand whilst she checked the availability, only 1 other table occupied and we were seated almost next to them. Pleasant young waitress who’s phrase was ‘no worries’ but overall the service was very slow considering how quiet the restaurant was. Good selection on the menu so I chose the Game Pie which was very authentic with a shotgun pellet in it but the pastry was hard, the gravy was awful with separated lumps of bistro/ thickener in it and the lumpy carrot and swede mash was served with carrots and swede, talk about root vegetable overload. I then ordered the Passionfruit Crème Brûlée which once I cracked through the sugar was totally split and full of clear liquid. I quietly returned it and it was replaced with Lemon Posset, which tasted pleasant but once again was not set and had the consistency of double cream. During the time we were waiting for our food we observed 2 other couples, seated right next to us, look at the menu/ prices, get up and leave with no explanation. Such a shame all round, I had high hopes we would finally have a decent restaurant in the area but the place had no atmosphere, service was slow and whist the range of food was very good the execution of it was poor, sorry all round.

Cannot recommend this place enough, we came here on a whim after visiting the dogs trust nearby and we brought our dog Harry, the staff were so friendly towards him and accommodating towards where to seat us. Me and my partner both had the venison burger which is part of their limited time menu, honestly one of the best burgers we've ever had, we would love for this to stay on the menu for when we return! Cannot recommend enough for a great atmosphere and top class food! 👌

5 stars all around, lovley fish pie and chips, steak and kidney pudding, pastry was really well cooked and lots of flavour to both dishes, Dog friendly as well as always a bonus.

Just had one of the best meals for a long time, the chilli beef was so tasty, as was the suet steak and kidney pie. Lovely staff and the atmosphere was nice. Thank you we will definitely return.

Service friendly enough and dog friendly. It was a little slow. I wasn't particularly impressed with the sausage and mash. Others in my group enjoyed their meals.

Had a lovely meal this evening at The White Lodge. The lady that seated and looked after us was absolutely lovely and very kind towards our 18 month old. Food was lovely, generous portions and good value for money. Service was great and in a lovely environment. Highly recommend and will definitly be returning.

if you want a quiet, out of the way lunch and pint. It's the place to go, great food and atmosphere, great staff. Place has really turned itself around.

Outside tables looked very old & worn. Inside just felt a little bit shabby. Staff were nice enough. Food was pretty average. Good prices. Nothing spectacular.

This is a lovely countryside pub, all of the staff were very welcoming. The food was fantastic, they have a nice garden outside too to sit and enjoy the sunshine. True little gem and will definitely be coming again.

Very friendly and welcoming place with great service and very accomodating owners and staff. We went early evening and I ordered the Hunters Chicken. The chicken was tough and dry - it did not appear to have been freshly cooked which was, to say the least, rather disappointing given the build up the place had been given. I did not complain as I had been taken for a meal by friends who think highly of the place - I did not wish to upset them. I assume this was just a one off error.

Great place for a family Sunday lunch. Roasts were really good and great value for money. Plenty of space and the service was good. We were a big group so had to order in advance, but the meals came out in good time and spot on with no issues. We were even asked if anyone wanted to order a dessert who hadn't already pre-ordered one. Thank you!

Went for a meal here (2 adults 1 child). Food was excellent, I've never seen my son eat so much in one sitting! Very good food and service was prompt. Definitely recommend.

We had a Sunday roast, the meal was good, the only thing I'd say was the vegetables were quite al dente, a bit too al dente for our tastes. The brownie I had for dessert was top notch! Friendly and attentive staff and nice atmosphere. Plenty of parking.

Very welcoming, even the dog got 2 treats and a bowl of water at the table. Nice big garden area, tasty food with large pizza and burger options as well as conventional Sunday roast which was generously sized and well cooked.

Great little pit stop on the way to the coast. Good friendly service and lots of space for the children to run arpund in the garden and let off some steam!

Question. If you’re driving up or down the A11 why would you stop at a service station and eat s**t when you could stop somewhere like this? A warm and friendly welcome as soon as we entered, the good service didn’t stop there. Myself and Mrs O ordered 3 small plate’s between us which was perfect for our needs. The food was freshly prepared and delicious, accompanied by a good choice of beers. We could have had McKuntucky King at the services, I think we made the right choice

Warm welcome by the staff and shown to our table. Menu had good variety of food. Service was excellent, and all of us enjoyed our food. I were personally would prefer a half portion as battle with a mains if I want a starter or sweet also.

I had the lasagna and what was supposed to be chuncky chips the lasagna tasted like it was made with gravy granules and the chips were greasy potato wedges wasn't happy

Terrible Sunday lunch. Surprisingly meat was nice however everything else was dire. Roast potatoes were clearly precooked and microwaved (looked and tasted weird) and the Yorkshire pudding was like an Aubt Bessie's frozen one. Had a crumble for dessert which was certainly not a crumble in any way shape or form and the custard served with it was like hot milk, I have never seen such thin custard. Service wasn't great and the front of house staff was grumpy. Certainly won't be returning

The venison burger was delicious, as was the steak burger my husband had. Friendly and attentive staff. Will definitely return for another lunch.

We had a good lunch here on the way to Sheringham. Service was quick and efficient and the quality of the food was excellent.

The landlord and staff are friendly, the service is really good, the pub is immaculate and the menu is interesting. My Moroccan nut roast, served on a Yorkshire pudding was excellent and the veggies and roast potatoes were cooked to perfection. It is so nice to have a vegetarian choice that is not just lasagna (although that was available!). My friend said the beef casserole was the best ever tasted! I'm not a friend of the landlord or Chef (even though it sounds like it) but I certainly will be visiting this lovely, thatched pub again!

Went for a Saturday lunch and wasn't disappointed. Beef and ale casserole with veg in a giant Yorkshire pudding and my partner had the lasagne. Dessert is a must especially the chocolate brownie with the best pistachio ice cream.Very good service and the place is spotless will definitely return.

Fantastic pub food and atmosphere. We had the beer battered cod and chips, pork and leek sausage and mash with a couple of pints of IPA. Perfect. Will definitely drop in again.

Manager or Landlord needs to lighten up a bit. There is a fine line between covid efficiency and being purely rude.

Went for Sunday roast when the waiter he said the neat was medium when it came up the beef was raw what the water called medium ye alright the veg was raw the potatoes were overcooked and bland I like dining out but this is the worse dinner I have ever had the pork was thick with loads of fat the meat was thick to but raw with blood coming out no thank you who eats raw meat any way keep clear would give it no stars never again will I eat rawmear

Nice pub in an easy to reach location. Food was of an average standard, although falls foul of the quantity to subside quality approach. Better options to be had in the area but we visited here due to availability of a kids menu.

Fantastic meal tonight at The White Lodge Attleborough. When I saw the menu I was very impressed and the prices are exceptionally keen. Really thought they would have to compromise on quality but not a bit of it. Nice to have real chunky chips. Really good service. Can’t wait to come back.

I had my birthday meal at the White Lodge last night with my family. We were in the restaurant area. Plenty of space for 6 people at our table. We had starters. I had the whitebait which was delicious with two choices of sauce. I then had the salmon with medditerran vegetables. This was so nice. We brought a birthday cake along but also purchased ice cream. One of the tubs were out of date but we got a new one from the staff. The staff were very friendly and helpful. they all came out to sing happy birthday. A pleasent evening.

Stopped off for a drink as dog couldn't go into the Peter Beale Rosarium restaurant. Lovely pub with well-kept beer meant we looked at the menu in order to stay longer, roast beef was a real treat

Superb roast & burger. Fab portions. Well cooked and excellent sides / toppings. Value is good too. The staff were prompt and checked in for things like extra gravy. Service was quick. The place itself is low key and very pleasant. Would absolutely return when we’re back this way.
