We visited the Safari Braai for Mother’s Day and the food was incredible. Lovely service and atmosphere. Between us we had the chicken burger, the steak, the ribs and a couple of kids meals. It was all fantastic.

We had a fantastic 3 course meal, staff very friendly & helpful, gave advice on food choices. Wine was also lovely. Would definitely visit again

Hidden gem. Very cosy. Really cool decor. Food was fresh, hot and tasted amazing. Great selection of drinks. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed our evening here. Will definitely be visiting again and recommending to friends and family.

Absolutely amazing food (best chips ever), lovely place. And the only place for many years of visiting different pubs , I noticed, have that little but so important moment in ladies toilet : hygienic pads for emergency. And free of charge. Nothing special, but very useful sometimes. Spotless clean toilet)) Definitely not our last visit!

We came across this place whilst driving a ‘scenic route’ home and I am so glad that we did. What a gem! A warm welcome on a rainy evening with friendly, attentive service. Absolutely amazing food which tasted as good as it looked. Very reasonable pricing for the quality and quantity. A lovely evening out and we will be taking this particular scenic route more often 😄

It is such a friendly place to drop into with the staff always well coming. And a real asset to this pub, it's assumed staff in pubs are friendly and welcoming, However here they really are.. especially the brothers. The restaurant and garden are tastefully refurbished and the food unbelievable cooked to your liking and tasty. Particular favourites steak, lamb ,chicken and the prawn starter a great way to stsrt your meal . A little bit out the way but don't pass it by. You won't be disappointed.

Great little pub and restaurant, which we kind of stumbled over, on route from Kent to Cheshire up the M1. Located 5 minutes from the M1 junction a great place to stop for lunch. Recently under new management, they have Doom Bar on as a regular ale and a guest ale to compliment, on our visit this was Black Sheep. Food was excellent, tasty and ample and the staff (James), friendly and informative.

This restaurant has changed hands and is now called Safari Braai Kitchen with a South African flavour. Service is first class. The food is phenomenal, tasty, delicious andauthentic. Highly recomemded.

Tried the new safari braii kitchen today, real South African and Mozambique food, with real African ingredients, cooked by a real South African. Very very good starters and mains, very authentic taste and great portions. Great place for a family dinner or meet with friends. This place will take off and we will be back soon. Great place!

We have waited a long time for our local pub to be taken seriously. I can honestly say that the new Management have done amazing with the place. Safari Braii Kitchen @The White Horse food was amazing and must be tried. The food is South African ,the menu is spot on and the staff are great too. Can’t wait to go back

Stopped after a trip to Woburn safari and the food was a amazing, lovely owners warm and friendly atmosphere and not as busy as the pubs in Woburn village. Definitely will be back again

Visited on Sunday whilst visiting friends in the area. Lovely friendly welcome when we arrived and very helpful staff, both behind the bar and from the kitchen. Chose 2 Sunday lunches which were delicious and very generous portions, especially liked the lovely side dish of cauliflower/ broccoli cheese. Would definitely return if in the area again.

My time at the white horse in Husborne Crawley was perfect! This was our first visit to The White Horse, we were really impressed with the friendly and attentive team there. There were 6 of us and 3 of us had the specials which were all delicious. All food is freshly cooked using top quality ingredients ( lovely locally sourced beef). We will definitely be going for a return visit.

Just had a lovely pint at The White Horse. Didn’t have to book and was able to sit outside in a friendly environment under their marquee. The staff welcomed us at the door and delivered their safety briefing in a friendly manner before we sat for the first pint in 100 days of lockdown. Welcome back pubs! We had arranged a group luncheon get together here following an excellent meal my husband and I had enjoyed in late summer.The service was ridiculously slow considering there were so few other diners - so slow in fact that we did without dessert and coffee. The owner was courteous and helpful but the waiter was new and seemed to have little idea of the menu.The starters took for ever to arrive, followed by a long delay before the main courses were delivered. They did all come together but gave the impression that some of the food had had to be reheated to be at the same time as other meals.It was not bad - just very disappointing after our previous experience.As a couple we will give them another try later in the year and hiope this was just them having an off day.

We had lunch here today. The food was excellent but they were very understaffed, so the service was slow. That’s no reflection on the poor man who was trying to run the bar and wait on the tables. We received a 15% discount on the food, as we had the relevant app. The discount is for Mondays only.

This was the first time we have been out for Christmas Day and I have to say everything was perfect and so well organised.The food was beautifully presented as always and the portion sizes just right and the Staff seemed like they were enjoying their day just like the rest of us despite of course that they were working.Well done The White Horse and thank you all for making our day so enjoyable.Thank you and very best wishes for the New Year.

Visited here today for a late lunch with my family. From the first moment we walked in we felt welcomed and it also helped having a natural roaring fire in the lounge/restaurant area. The service was excellent the two guys were very attentive and professional and also helpful with our menu orders. I would definitely recommend visiting if your near the area specially after the safari park visit like we did. Also the menu has a yummy, interesting chocs all good created from scratch good quality and well worth the visit. IRecommend when you pass by to pop in even if just for a quick drink or snack.

Yet again, an excellent meal had by all. Food was plentiful, piping hot and all came to the table within seconds. Really cannot find any faults with the food or staff. Well done all, even the chef in behind the scenes.

We had a very warm welcom before we even got completely in the door. The 2 staff on managed to keep us very comfortable and at ease despite the fact that we were the only diners in (Tuesday evening)

The staff in the White Horse could not have been more helpful when we were unable to get into the village hall across the street. We had great food and drinks while we held our meeting in the pub garden. Excellent place to have a meal and a drink.

Stopped off from the M1 for lunch found the pub on Google. Nice pub with friendly staff I had the beef and mushroom ciabatta with fries although you had the choice of salad or soup with it too. It was so tasty hot beef with gravy on very impressed. Would recommend if you are passing it's right by Woburn Safari Park and the Abbey.

Well have to say we popped in here for a quick bite. I ordered the signature burger. Ground steak hand made and utterly delicious. In my top 3 for sure. So much flavour, fabulously cooked, with plenty of trimmings. Wife had the rump steak. That was delightful as well. Will certainly go back

Small pit stop on our way from London to Rutland. Lovely pub with extensive menu and lots of choice and specials. Great French fries and a lovely shellfish salad with delicious sauce. Service was top drawer. Beautiful flowers and hanging baskets. Recommended.

We have been here a few times and the food and service is always excellent. The staff are always very friendly and will try and meet all your requirements.Plan to visit more this year as it really makes a difference when food is served with care and attention.

This was our first visit with friends, and it was all good. The restaurant/pub is pleasant, the menus give plenty of choice, especially with daily specials, and the food was tasty and hot. Service was also up to standard. We were the only diners on our visit, so there was a lack of atmosphere which comes with a busy restaurant, which was the only disappointment.

I recently stopped by The White Horse with my wife, son & grandson. The 2 male staff were very friendly & efficient. The cask ale & wine were very good. The service was excellent. We found the menu to be expensive, but in fairness living in Blackpool, I may be out of sync with southern prices, but burgers at £13.50, steak from £26, is not cheap. I had chefs special burger consisting of turkey, stuffing & pigs in blankets. Guess there was a fair amount of Christmas dinner left over. Presentation was good, food dry & fairly bland. I guess that there is a fair amount of competition in the area, perhaps I will try one of them when next in the area.

We went for our works christmas meal on saturday 15th December, it was excellent the food, service and ambience we will definitely be back, thank you.

I came here with 8 of my colleagues for our annual Christmas meal having been let down by another restaurant. The team were so friendly and looked after us very well. The food was superb, particularly the cassoulet. There was a great atmosphere and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I have signed up to their loyalty scheme and will definitely be returning, thank you.

Visited tonight. Quiet Wednesday. Fantastic fillet steak from their local butcher. Good service and nice choice of puddings. No pressure service but nicely delivered. Defiantly worth a visit for a quiet stress free meal.

About eleven of us arrived from all points for a late lunch. Many were late and yet the obliging and friendly staff did not seem to mind at all, despite our disobliging behaviour. The pub is about 2 minutes away from Woburn Abbey and its safari park; it is a good place to meet up with others, some of who may have seen enough of safari parks. and would prefer a nice beer and a good lunch. It was a Sunday lunch, which was delicious. They even managed to do an excellent gluten free one for one of out party. There was even a large car park for which I award 9 of the 10 points available from my personal idiosyncratic system. Anywhere with no free parking get zero points. This includes everywhere in London and all towns. Little else matters particularly when you have just circumnavigated Milton Keynes which is surrounded by about 90 roundabouts and you are feeling dizzy and very cross indeed. Strongly recommended.

We were driving from London to Derbyshire, feeling peckish, and typed "Pub" into Google Maps on the satnav, and up this place popped. Zipped off the M1, and found it easily.

Popped in here for a bite to eat with my family after a visit to Woburn Safari Park. We had the Celebration of Sausage special for 3 of us. This was outstanding tasty fresh cooking - a real treat if you are a bangers and mash lover like me! A lovely country gastro pub.

Popped in to this lovely looking pub on the Saturday, i had the hake fish special, I can honestly say I have never tasted food better, unbelievable standards, food looks outstanding and tasted even better, full credit to the chefs in that kitchen, will definitely be returning to try other meals on the menu.

Came upon this pub on the way to Woburn Lido so decided to take my mum and the family for a Sunday roast.

I pass this place everyday on the way to work so l decided to go for a meal as it looked OK.The staff were very pleasant and we received a warm welcome we ordered drinks at the bar which the bar staff brought to our table.There was a standard menu and specials board with a good selection of starters and mains.When the food arrived it was well presented and very tasty and the portions were quite large and we couldn't manage a sweet.Overall it was a pleasant experiance.

The chilled courgette, pea and mint soup was just right for such a very warm day (though it can be ordered hot, if you wish). A delight to find something light and refreshing. I followed it with a second starter of seafood which was also delicious. If the weather had been cooler I would have had the sea bass special instead for sure. The burgers and sausages are always good but not quite what I wanted today.

Fell across this place today and it was way above anything else we had driven passed. Varied menu & absolutely divine when it all arrived....gorgeous food, delightful staff, glorious weather (that wasn't on the menu but thanks anyway) and we had 3 mains, 2 desserts, 2 coffee & 3 drinks for u dear £65. Well satisfied!

Some friends had recommended this place to us and we were not disappointed, the Sunday Roast was excellent, all cooked fresh and was piping hot. The service was very good and staff were really friendly.

I was treated to an excellent meal by my family for Fathers Day. Never disappoints, great service, best quality food and all for easily the best value in the local Gastro pub scene!

My daughter booked a table at this pub/restaurant for 12.30 yesterday, Father’s Day, coming from London for the meal. We arrived prompt at 12.30, decided against starters, just had mains and dessert with a bottle of wine. At no point were we informed we were on a timer so we were surprised when, at 1.45 we were asked by the waiter to vacate the table. My husband asked how long we had as we were finishing the bottle of wine (£22 so not leaving any!). The waiter pointed to his watch and said the next customers were already there. As we were finished eating we agreed to finish our drinks in the bar, no room in there so we went outside in the dreary damp weather. I went back in to complain to the manager, Matt, he apologised saying the waiter had misinterpreted his instructions!! He also said he would make it up to us next time we were in but didn’t ask for my details ( name, phone etc) !! Well there won’t be a next time. We moved into this area 15 months ago and went there regularly, even having Christmas lunch there. We booked for 6 plus a dog for New Years Eve lunch only to discover they had not written down the booking. They managed to push some tables together for us but the manager was not particularly apologetic. Then on 24th February we took some guests there, the service was awful, only one waiter working. Very embarrassing for us after telling these people how good it was there. Now this situation yesterday. The food is good but not so good that we will go back. There are other establishments in the vicinity where our business is more than welcome. The French Horn at Steppingley where we had a fantastic birthday lunch for my other daughter last week to name but one.

This pub has a board up outside stating it serves the best steaks in the area. This could not be further from the truth. I have never tasted such poor quality steak in my life. The steak was so irony, like it was sitting sweating in blood for so long it turned. It was not nice. It taste more like liver than steak. I tried to speak to the owner but he was too busy and then never bothered to ring me back. The service from the waitress was good but that was all. If you want a good steak there are lots of far better places within a few miles such as the Birch, The Swan, Oliviers, The Red Lion at Milton Bryan, The Swan at Salford or Middletons in MK. Don't waste your time trying the White Horse you will end up disappointed.

As we left Centre Parcs (Woburn Forrest) we wanted somewhere for 8 people to eat. Came across the White Horse by chance and was very impressed. Friendly, good beer and excellent food. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Lovely place, really helpful staff, expensive for what was offered and served. Advertised as vegetarian arian & gluten free options nothing really gluten free on the menu. Poor vegetarian choices my friend had a plate of veg . But staff were very helpful and apologetic. Wouldnt rush to return.

Bank holiday Monday and on our way back to London found The White Horse. Nice pub interior , seated we ordered our food. Kicked off ordering Diet cokes and received Pepsi which was flat. Placed orders for food which included a plate of chips for our Grandson. Our food arrived minus the chips which we queried with the waiter, he would check up for us, I also asked for tomato sauce. Neither chips nor sauce arrived. My Daughter then queried with the Manager as to whereabouts of chips only to find out waiter had not placed order. Eventually arrived after we had finished eating. Tomato sauce never arrived.

Had dinner and drinks here last night. Starter was Deep Fried Salt & Pepper Squid and it was perfectly cooked. Main course was Moroccan Lamb Burger and could not fault the chef at all. Struggled for a choice of the burgers which is a good thing means will have to visit again to try the other choices. Bar has a great atmosphere and drinks are reasonable priced. A must visit for any foodie.

We found this pub on our way from Oxford to Cambridge and decided to stop off for lunch. There was a lunch deal on home made burgers for £8.90 which included home made chips, excellent quality! We ordered a range of sides to share, again excellent and clearly home made rather than frozen.

We live locally surrounded by many pubs and after a year of living in Woburn choose to only eat and drink at The White Horse even with the many choices on offer. This is a family run pub who cares about their customers, it's lovely to be able to pop in and sit and have a chat at the bar and the staff couldn't be friendlier. Their attention to detail is great and they go out of their way to welcome you in as friends. We had another faultless meal tonight, they have their new spring menu which is good as we have eaten everything on the old one! :-) still keeping some of the classics - defo try the calamari. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the strawberry cheesecake was incredible.. my husband had to roll me out to the car as I was so full but couldn't stop eating!! Even better they have a VIP card so we saved 15% off the bill which is a nice touch.

Pleasant little old fashioned pub in small village convenient for M1 junction 13. Popped in on Easter Monday afternoon for a meal. Staff were pleasant. The roast beef was good value and served with plenty of veggies. Personally I would have preferred more roast potatoes and skip the sweet potato but that’s personal choice. My wife had the barramundi fish which she enjoyed. Food was served quite quickly. The glasses of house wine were good and reasonably priced. The pub has parking and an outdoor area for the better weather.
