Fab spot for a bit of grub and a few beers. Real traditional EastEnd Pub. Staff are great and a good mix of customers. A must see for whitechapel 5*

A proper old fashioned pub that is loud, raucous, fun, and non pretentious. It might be small, but it is mighty. Good choice of drinks. Didn't eat there, so cannot comment on the food. Service is prompt, yet friendly. Ticks the boxes.

Top destination to watch the football. Was very popular. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Took a little while to get food. But it was delicious, fresh, authentic Thai food. Air was a little stale inside the bar - could do with an air change every now and then. Small place, old, historic and popular.

It used to be a good local pub but not anymore. They really need to improve their customer service skills. The Blind Beggar or The Hospital Tavern (just around the corner) offer a much better atmosphere and service.

A nice historic bar, good service, and drinks. If you want to duo into the Ripper trail, this is worth a stop or just for a friendly place to chill with a pint.

On entering your pub/restaurant wefound it homely and comfortable. We ordered food and drink with the waitress this was prompt. Food brought finely quick and the presentation was beautiful. What happened then well not sure. We had no check backs to see if food was good. Until we finished and a young waiter took our plates . That's was it no one came back to check if we wanted any dessert or drinks or the bill. I'm in hospitality myself and never leave my customers like this or I would be told by management hope5 this was a over sight on the staff. Sorry to drag on. We all enjoyed the food thoroughly

My friends and I were having a good time chatting and drinking after a dinner together until the bartender asked two of our friends (who were not drinking) to leave. He said “if you don’t have a drink you have to leave” and so we did. Don’t come here unless you want your evening ruined!

I am very excited that my wife and I visited this exceptional old British bar/restaurant they have perfect beer for pretty much decent money, friendly service and good food. If I have a trip to London again I'd love to go back for a few drafts. Thank you for making my holiday enjoyable and also the memories of when I lived in London for a few years.

Very historical feel pub with a nice selection of ales and friendly staff, happy to chat. We stopped by for one drink and it was the ideal place for it, but the pub-grub looks solid as well, so I would be happy to pop back for some food another time.

A traditional pub offering a delicious Sunday Carvery, a generous portion of meat is offered and you can have a cut of each joint if you’d like to, the meat is very tasty and succulent. Help yourself to the great selection of perfectly cooked vegetables, top it all off with the thick, flavourful gravy. Puddings, we were told are homemade… the sticky toffee was mouthwatering. The wine is very reasonably priced and very good. Parking is easy on the high Street or there is a carpark opposite which is not pricey.

Friendly staff, great food and ideal for pre-gig in The Old Stables. We would highly recommend this pub having eaten there before and always been impressed. Check out the chicken and chorizo tagine. It was delicious.

A pleasant historic pub, one of London's oldest. Famous for Jack the Ripper. A good spot for a small group to watch some sports. There is Thai food here, separate from the bar itself. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bathrooms here are clean in the back. It is a quaint place for a quick pint.

Lovely spot. The staff were friendly and went out of the way to get a recommendation for a Greek restaurant. We ended up eating there. They have a Thai kitchen and it was very good. Fantastic spot.

Absolutely one of the best pubs I have ever been to!! Wish it was nearer Old Town where I live. My mate & I arrived mid afternoon on a Saturday after going to a Cat Show....and thanks to the chef, we were able to get some grub even though it was close to the end of meal service. I am so glad he did....the food was of an extremely high standard - it was hot, tasty & OMG the chips were so scrummy! The bar-staff were friendly & the place is so relaxed. I will definitely be back here again in the not too distant future....and I will definitely recommend this place too. Definitely 10/10!!

A really nice historical pub visited yesterday with my wife on her birthday and not to far from the Jack the Ripper museum which we also visited 👍and we had lunch delicious Thai food 😋🍜🍚👍

I went for supper here yesterday with a friend, and had their maple syrup bacon burger. It really was the best burger I've had in a very long time. Excellent!

Today was my birthday night and we went to the pub to get a few more drinks. When my friends went up to the bar the lady said they're not serving anymore, to which they asked to just get some tap water. There were two men sitting by the bar, who said "it's good friday dont you get it in whatever country you are from?". One of my friends is from Cuba, so she said that no, she doesn't have that in Cuba they started to laughing at her. When they finished, they went outside to smoke a cigarette, so I went to the bar lady to let her know she was disrespectful to my friends (We're all young women, and we're a bit worried of confronting men, so I went to the female bartender instead to feel safe while walking about my concerns). I told her that's just so she knows, the men were really rude and condescending to my friends, to which she answered "I don't care if you had a bad day, there's a pub next door", and when I tried to be nice saying that I understand and work behind the bar as well and I just wanted to let her know these men were sexist she replied "it's not my problem, if you had a bad day just go to the other pub and bother people in there". Terribly rude person, and I wouldn't recommend for anyone to go there anytime. Don't EVER go there, the lady made me cry on my birthday and I will definitely never go back there :))

I always feel that nachos are the sign of a good kitchen and the nachos here are the best I've had in ages! The American dirty fries were lush too. Defo coming back soon!

Me and my friend tried this place for post gig drinks on a Saturday night. The staff were friendly enough but I didn't feel particularly comfortable with the regulars / locals. The choice of beer wasn't really to my taste either. We only stayed for the one!

I’m just back from dining here with a large group on a Friday evening. We were allocated a side area and an overflow table for our group of people from all parts of England and Wales. Looking around, all I could see was smiles, from start to finish. Staff were entirely charming and professional and took everything in their stride. In view of the size of the group, we had sent in our menus choices ahead of our visit. Sure enough, we sat down and the meals began arriving promptly and steadily. Now for the surprise. This wasn’t good pub food. It was fantastic pub food. All the diners in our group were super impressed by presentation and flavour of the fabulous food the kitchen team had prepared, all served piping hot. For my part, I’d chosen chicken, stuffed and wrapped in bacon, served in a rich sauce. Every bite was a real treat. The White Hart delivered way above everyone’s expectations, which is a rare and notable experience. With fantastic service couple with top quality meals, our group was very fortunate to dine here. Was there anything that could be improved? Just one thing, and that was down to us as diners. The allocated area has somewhat bare walls. Our enthusiastic friends, even more lively than usual as they were having such a good time, ended up raising our voices and creating a fairly loud environment. It was ok but some sort of sound deadening, or quieter guests (us) would have made this a 100% overall experience as opposed to a 99% experience. Thankyku White Hart for making this a very special and memorable dinner

Does exactly what it says on the tin, and does it very well. Great drinks, food and very friendly team. Haven't tried thè food yet because of my schedule, but menu looks excellent and i'm making a point to make time one of these days to try It. For now, thanks for the nice cold beers!

Me and my wife who is Asian are from New York and entered the pub to watch the England vs Wales World Cup game. We just entered and the bar was pretty full and were waiting to order the pint while watching the game while a white older man came up to us and told us that we could only stay in the pub if we ordered the pint pretty aggressively, even shoving and making way for us to the bar. We shrugged it off thinking he was the pub owner, but we were in line to order a pint. The bartender here was really nice and we got our pint, but when we asked her if the older man was the bar owner, he happened to be a regular customer! The bartenders here are really nice, but the older white regular men at the bar look at POC(people of color) funny and we definitely were not comfortable here. I am giving it 2 stars for the really nice bartenders there, but the atmosphere is pretty tense for POCs
