The White Hart in Waverley

Probably one of the best pub meals I have ever had. Ordered the sharing meat platter and was blown away at the quality and taste if it. Would recommend any day of the week.

Popped in on a busy Friday night and we hadn't booked. Staff were really helpful and more than happy to find us a table even though we had a short wait. Food was fantastic, great atmosphere and reasonly priced too.

Not enough good vegan and vegetarian options

After reading the great reviews we popped in on the off chance there may be a table for us to have an early dinner. Despite it being really busy the very helpful front of house lady managed to accommodate us. We had an excellent meal, so many delicious flavours! All the staff were attentive & friendly. Thank you for squeezing us in, we very much look forward to returning!

Always a great dirty burger night out!

Came with friends for dinner , food was tasty but it is expensive for what you get and you need to order sides otherwise you will just get a plate of meat , the food was well cooked and the staff are friendly.

My favourite pub in Surrey by a MILE. Came here with a mate for a catchup meal and pint. Greeted by Fiona who was very friendly and got us to our seats immediately. We were then looked after by Olga for the rest of the evening. My mate and I have been coming here since before covid when Burger Tuesdays (Burger, Fries and Pint for £10) was a thing and the White Hart never fails to disappoint. It’s the only pub in Surrey I’ve been to that the service, food and atmosphere is always 10/10. We had a couple of pints of Word Lager, two portions of Pulled Pork Nuggets, and two of the O.D.B. Burgers. The food and drink was without fault so hats off to the bartenders and the Chefs. Olga served us all evening and she was ON IT. So positive, friendly, great help with recommendations and making sure everything was okay. Class pub, class staff and class atmosphere. We were also told by Olga that the Chef was the one controlling the music… unreal playlist mate. Tame Impala, Jungle, Bellaire… the list goes on 🤝 *I never write reviews on TripAdvisor but the White Hart deserves all the support it can get. It’s so rare you find a pub that is very good consistently over a few months, let alone years. Class guys

Well this is my new GO-TO … amazing food . We had the different chicken wings totally outstanding. My partner and his son are real sleuths for a tasty wing . They were both amazed at the freshness and flavour. I had the chicken Katsu rice bowl for main and had a lot of variety in that bowl and really great flavours. The other two had the Monday special which was a huge stack of ribs absolutely delicious. I had a large glass of rose , this was very good as well and very reasonably priced , compared to some pubs I have been to. Great service managed by young serious funny professional … really cool guys. Well done and we will be back. The sauces we bought were very tasty. Thank you

This pub became our fav for ribs, especially on their Monday night 12 pounds special. The cozy dining table around the bar and the room called the library are dog friendly, they have some tables in a larger room and some in a covered patio… so there is a good chance to walk in and sit in the outdoor covered area, but in a weekend it is imperative to book for indoor tables. We love their ribs, but they have a wider selection of bbq meat as well. The staff is fast, young and friendly and they always try to accomodate you also when they are extra busy. A very good pub restaurant that became our favorite in the area.

Great food!! Quiet out the way location, but not out the way enough to become popular or hard to find. My second visit and was not disappointed by the food service or atmosphere, WILL BE BACK!!

Our absolutely favourite pub! Always incredible service and such great food. We had a particularly great experience today celebrating our twins 7th birthday (plus Mothers Day!). The staff made a wonderful fuss of our children and Jonah was excellent! Thank you!

Good food, good drinks which are not your usual and a pleasant atmosphere to be in. Although a little more on the pricey side for a pub. Nevertheless we enjoyed the experience.

To be honest I felt a bit overwhelmed with the food. It was all nice - if BBQ is your thing - but the best part was pudding. Great service and good value

Been here a few times over the last 4 months and sorry to say to quilt has gone down hill. Portion sizes have reduced and the quality slipped. That said, i would still say its good food… just it used to be much better

Great place - excellent food and efficient, friendly staff. Interesting menu - not what you'd expect in a quaint Surrey pub, but definitely worth a trip. Lots of customers were clearly repeat visitors who'd travelled especially for the food.

Absolutely lovey experience, food as always, especially when catering for a table of 16, couldn't fault the speed and quality of the food.,also left some case sensitive documents behind, they were on the phone the next day to advise me of our error! 🙏🏼 Thank you 😊

Some of the best BBQ I’ve had, in a place you’d least expect it! Beef Short Rib was unreal. Friendly and helpful staff, too.

Great if you are a meat eater as that is the focus, smoked and barbecued as in the southern states of the USA. If you are vegetarian not so great. Also dogs not allowed in the restaurant.

The service was amazing! Olga was fantastic, unfortunately the food was lukewarm warm and wasn’t amazing we were a bit let down.

We went last night for dinner, We ordered the children ordered baby ribs for the children, an adult baby ribs platter, a burger and dirty chips. Dirty Chips, a mixed of everything, chips, mac and cheese, etc. a tiny portion for £7 and we left half of it! It says it all. My children could not eat their ribs! super extra salty. Overall everything needs to be much less salty!

As a regular customer and this was one of our favourite places to eat. We noticed the last couple of times the food not to be of its usual standard. And cocktails. I think the last 2-3 times I’ve sent my mac and cheese back as it was stone cold and the quality of meat was not the best extremely fatty. I think with this place it gets a lot of staff turn over so it’s not that consistent.

Go for the shared BBQ platter, it won't disappoint, just add extra 'slaw

Great meal, portions were huge. We were sat in a beautiful Sunny window seat. It was lovely and relaxed, we took our time and never felt rushed.

Not what I expected. The menu was good but had problems with my order & had to send it back. Still not what I ordered when it returned but picked out the things I didn't want.

What a great place to eat! Found this pub/restaurant whilst visiting friends in Witley. The service was great, friendly staff and food was quick to the table. Although pints are the usual £6 these days, the meal price was very reasonable for south east England and my burger was delicious. Will definitely be back if we’re in the area again. 👍

Our fav for BBQ dinner, we forgot to call in till 8.00 pm and it was extra full because they it was the restaurant 10 years celebration party. I stopped in to say HBD and they found us a table for 3 at 9.00 pm: their staff was on the top with friendly fast service in the extra crowded venue and the food delicious as ever. Keep it up guys: thank you for doing a great job!!!

Loud but fun, with top service. Food is decent, however it's always incredibly salty. You will be gasping for water after you've eaten here, and having tried most of the things on the menu this isn't limited to one or two dishes.

Came here end of August for our anniversary, absolutely amazing food! We pretty much ordered everything, could we finish it?...No! Haha 😄 but I have no regrets, made for great left overs. Food is worth every penny, there's some very talented chefs you have mastering that smoker! Also customer service was great, you couldn't really flaw it. Very friendly and catering :-) Also worth noting how quick food came out! And those spicy wings are spicy and awesome, couldn't pick a favourite between the Texas or Korean.

Didn't really have a chance to try food there, but the peanuts were great. Drinks are large but also pricey (but not more expensive than anywhere else). The staff is super friendly and the place has its charm.

Great food, music, beer garden and they do monthly specials 😍 kid friendly and they even have nappies in the baby spaces.

I love this pub and its our go to treat meal. We were out for a celebration but despite the food being lovely and some friendly serving staff the lady on drinks totally ruined our evening. Our son ( 23 ) always keeps a copy of his ID on his phone . He was refused a drink as he didn't have his physical ID on him despite this never being the case before in the same pub. We offered to drive home and get the ID she said he could have a pint but when we ordered a second pint he was refused very loudly and in just a very unpleasant non customer friendly way. The way she handled it just put a complete downer on a celebration meal . Such a shame and amazing how one person can affect an experience so negatively.

Had 2 really nice young waiters, and the food was good, but unfortunately there was one lady on the drinks orders tonight who ruined the experience with her attitude and the way she approach things, so sorry to do this but have loved this pub for years and had a really unpleasant experience

We had been for a walk with family and just searched on line for a pup for lunch. We were expecting country pub food but found a great BBQ place. Fabulous burgers with an Asian twist and great sides. We will definitely be back if we are in the area.

Exellent place for food, we went monday lunchtime only 2 people in there as it was early, but nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and the food was out of this world, cannot praise the white hart enough. Definatly 1000% recomend

Very enjoyable overall but quite busy and perhaps not enough wait staff. Three courses for four people took three hours.

Love the idea behind the place just the execution not as good as I'd hoped. Highlights: friendly staff, flavour of the food generally. Excellent pork ribs. Lowlights: service was very slow with 40 mins until any food appeared, the beef rib was really overcooked and dry. Would try again though

Tried our luck having not booked a table on a Saturday early evening. Staff were super accommodating and friendly. The meal itself was absolutely delicious- we were stuffed! Such a lovely meal after a very busy day. Can’t wait to go back.

Stopped for a drink and some food halfway through a walk and the staff were awesome, food was great and having 3 vegan main options in a pub let alone one that does BBQ is really something. Not silly money either which is a standout these days. Will be telling my friends and coming back, thanks guys!

A favorite in the area always fairly busy; good bbq meat served on metal dishes, very friendly staff, indoor and outdoor seating, pets welcomed. All good…would add a soup to the menu and serve the meat little warmer. But for sure a thumb up experience!

Great food usually. We arrived too late on Sunday for food which was a shame as it said they were open until 8pm on Google. Our fault for not checking when they stop serving food though. Cant wait to revisit as staff, service and food is amazing

Easily the best food I've had in years!

Was recommended to go here by a friend and I'm very glad that they did because we had a fantastic barbecue meal! The pub itself has low ceilings and exposed beams and makes for a really interesting place for a nice meal. It has been decorated slightly left field with interesting posters and artwork and sheep wool and rugs on the chairs. It's a space you can comfortably spend a lot of time in. We found even when it was busy it was not loud. The pub is sprawling and has several separate areas, including a covered exterior, so you're never surrounded by too many people but there's a lovely atmosphere either way. There's a good selection of wines and beers available on tap including, at the time, Neck Oil which is one of my favorites. Cannot recommend this place enough. All of the staff we interacted with were the kindest and most pleasant that I have ever dealt with in a restaurant. The menu is kept short and very high quality.

Had a wicked takeaway from here at lunch time, really enjoyed the food which was still hot when I'd got back to the office despite a 10 min journey, the food was ready on time and the staff were super friendly, the milkshakes were amazing and I'd highly recommend you popping in to try the food! Great parking and good location

Visited over the weekend and can honestly say that was some of the best pub food I’ve ever had. Can’t fault the food and the staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough. Will be making the journey back for sure. Definitely recommend!

We had an incredible meal at The White Hart a couple of days ago. We had just arrived from Canada and it was the most perfect welcome to the UK! The staff, the ambiance, the food - all were amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed the dirty Caesar, dirty fries, sambal broccoli and meat sampling plate - would highly recommend!

Lovely rustic pub with some of the best service I've ever experienced. Roast was perfectly cooked and flavoured and all other food was great too.

We visited on a Sunday, I’m glad we booked because it was busy. The staff are so very friendly, we were told immediately about some items on the menu being popular and running out. The duck starter was beautiful. I had the pulled pork bun, it was stunning, I couldn’t finish the dirty fries which I was sharing with my daughter. She had the Korean fried chicken burger, it was massive, and she was very happy with it My husband went with the mixed meat Sunday roast. OMG, the flavour on all the meat was phenomenal, my favourite being the beef brisket (my husband was allowing me to try) There was plenty of gravy and veg. My husband is still talking about the carrot now! The red cabbage was beautiful. My daughter throughly enjoyed the milkshakes. We ordered 2 desserts to take home. We will definitely be returning, we were so impressed. We are always pleased when we can take our dog too. Thank you team White Hart

Fabulous pub and restaurant. Menu is different to the norm with a fine selection of bbq / smoked meats fabulous burgers and homemade desserts. Top class. We had out 4 month daughter with us and they were great with her, also very good baby changing facilities. Service was great and in particular our waitress Gemma was terrific. Such a lively girl, articulate, warm and friendly. Brilliant.

Superb food, on a table of 6 everyone was utterly delighted with their meal. The service was engaging, friendly and attentive. An absolute gem of a place, oh and very dog friendly. 10/10!!

The food here is absolutely amazing. We’ve never had a bad meal and the amount of flavour they manage to put in the food is amazing. The service is really friendly and makes you feel welcomed. It’s always obvious that the staff enjoy love the food too, there’s a lot of pride in the food they serve you. Any time we have a special occasion or fancy a really good meal, this is the place we choose. If I wasn’t local, I’d travel a long way to eat this food!

Went out to Surrey hills for a afternoon Sunday walk and decided to eat at this place on the way back. It’s nice and cosy inside with outdoor seating in the summer although this is covered during the colder weather. They had the Sunday menu so the usual daily items was off. Between us we had Sunday lunch, burger, ribs and buffalo wings. We all enjoyed it, roast lamb was good although they could definitely improve on the reheated Yorkshire pudding! Buffalo wings good, burger good and pork ribs very tasty. Drinks a little expensive especially the wine which was priced at 12.50 a glass! Staff cheerful and helpful which is good. I would go back if im in the area and maybe during the week to see what they have on they daily menu and have a glass of water instead! 🙂

Very grateful that we can call this pub our local! By far the best pub in the Surrey area. Excellent, friendly staff who always go above and beyond. Insanely good food, exceptional cocktails. I’m a vegetarian and although it specialises in smokehouse meat etc the veggie options are delicious and much better than any other pub I’ve been to. My favourite is the veggie KFC burger and I LOVE the cornflake sundae. Special shout out to Henry!
