Had a fantastic lunch here. Food well cooked and served on hot plates. Delicious roast potatoes and great gravy. Good choice of wine and my husband enjoyed the Guinness. Great atmosphere and all the staff very friendly

The good points first - The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the service was good and attentive. And the food was very tasty. The not so good points - The meals were quite small and represented poor value. The duck consisted of one very small leg on a bed of purée, one very small crispy bacon slice and a side of cabbage. For £16 it needed more substance - maybe another vegetable or potato? And the fish and chips at £18 was again lacking - with the battered fish on the small size along with a couple of spoonfuls of peas and a dozen chips. The wine was no better value with the cheapest reds being a Merlot at £27.50 or a Malbec at £29. The wine tasted quite nice, but this is still a Pub and not an upmarket restaurant and you would expect a house wine at a more sensible price to be on offer. So, all in all, we won’t be returning in a hurry.

I recently had my wedding lunch here and it was brilliant all round. The food was delicious and everyone said it was high end restaurant quality. Service was great and even though the pub was busy and we were a party of 23, everything was perfect. Can't recommend highly enough, thanks for making our day great.

I came here with my partner on a cold afternoon for a nice coffee and a spot of lunch. Food was lovely. I loved that it was dog friendly. We will all be back!

Bit concerned upon arrival because the seating looked scruffy but the service was friendly and competent and the food was absolutely delicious. We were 5 people and 2 dogs and were very well looked after. We had pre-booked The meal was good value too. Everything was fresh. What a shame that the seat was torn because it was off-putting but it won't stop us from returning because the food and service were excellent The menu was also different and interesting and a very pleasant surprise

Went for a family birthday but was disappointed with the food I had duck with cabbage which sounded a bit strange but I thought it could work...it didn't The duck was stringy and so overcooked as to be unpalatable. 4 people out of 6 had a similar experience with the ceaser salad.

Small menu poor selection for desert and coffee struck me as a bit pretentious wouldn't go back as couldn't even supply a simple flat white coffee when requested and on a couple of occasions I had to search for staff as they were nowhere to be seen

enjoyed a lovely lunch with family members today, great choice on the lunch menu, (please put it online along with your main menu as we had no idea being our first time with you but it wont be our last), some really great options and very reasonable too... most had different options and all of us were very pleased...biscoff brownie highly recommended too! Great spot on the High Street and due to the warm weather was able to select a table in the back courtyard. Chose our dishes from the lunchtime saver menu and we were all pleased with our choices. Three of us had the sausages with onion gravy, fried Kale and mash with the fourth selecting the pasta. We all agreed it was very tasty and adequate portion sizes. Friendly staff too so would return without question.

Lovely restaurant/ pub, amazing service from Lily very kind and friendly, food was lovely fish and chips and the fish pie is excellent, diablo pizza is nice but be warned very spicy!

Great welcome. Lovely friendly staff. Very helpful service. I had a hearty steak and mushroom stroganoff with pasta ribbon and my friend had one of their woodstove Diablo pizza.We very much enjoyed the meal. The coffee was superb. All in all a pleasant surprise.

Great looking pub. Menu small but that’s ok. Service if that’s what you call it, friendly, but the cutlery was plonked down on the table on a tray “to help yourself” Wine choice very limited and that was also plonked down on the table with 2 glasses to help yourself. I think it was about £28 and was really just cheap plonk! We had flatbread and fried zucchini to start as not much choice - very average. I had Fish Pie, which looked amazing, but it was mainly cheesy mash, I had 2 prawns and 3 small pieces of I think smoked haddock. Very expensive mashed potato! My partner had the fish and chips which was completely well done and slightly burnt. We didn’t complain as we thought it a waist of time, seeing the attitude of the staff, and we didn’t want to spoil our evening. Hence this review! Sadly I will not return. It’s shame as it’s local and in the past we have had great meals.

Visited on a Monday in early July. Found a table easily and waitress service was friendly and quick. Food was great, son had a burger, other half a very nice fish pie, whilst me and daughter had the Caesar salad which came as a very generous portion and was delicious. A great place to eat, bang in the middle of the High Street.

Lovely atmosphere, accomodating staff and great food. It would be nice if they offered smaller roast dinners for adults as we were so full we couldn't order dessert. Something I was looking forward to, but would have meant leaving quite a bit on my plate....

This is a very nice place for dinner! Very friendly staff and everything we had was very good! They use fresh products, have home made dough and bake their pizzas and flatbread in a wood oven. The duck bonbons and pulled pork tacos were delicious....

Fabulous Food and service. Delicious courses including a Cod starter and Steak Main. Sauces are amazing. The service was excellent and we enjoyed the fun and laughter with the staff who were all lovely.

Having used the White Hart over the years the food has slways been good pub grub however with our latest visit it failed to impress, is it some sort of texmex mix with a job lot of halepino to use up,had the taco awfull,to small...

Last visited in April 2021, today's visit was for my birthday. Had already decided on a steak before we arrived. Only steak on the menu was an 8oz Ribeye "at market price". The cutlery and condiments came quickly which we thought was a good sign...

Visited here just after lunch today and was so pleased with the whole experience. The staff were extremely polite and really helpful. Me and my partner both ordered pizzas and they were delicious. There was such a lovely atmosphere inside and I would highly recommend people coming here.

From start to finish our experience was lovely. We arrived approx 12.30 on the 9th July, greeted by a very friendly staff member (didnt ask name unfortunately) but she did tell us after some friendly banter she has a 3 year old child. While we made up our minds where to sit, she was very patient and chatty. We opted on the outside decking area, upstairs overlooking the historical peg tile roofs of the building. Our wine and food order, was taken very efficiently and professionally by the same staff member. We ordered to share a Greek pizza with, pulled pork and cheese chips for a side. Pizza abolutely delicious, packed fresh ingredients that melted in our mouths and the side orders totally complimented the pizza to a T. So all in all our experience was spot on and we will be going back very soon - and I would totally recommend eating and drinking there.

We booked this restaurant for a small party of family and friends. The menu has a wide variety of choices so suited everyone in our party. We all enjoyed our meals. I had the White Hart Fish Pie and it was absolutely delicious with generous chunks of fish and prawns. The ambience is lovely and the staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Some of our party had desserts and they really enjoyed them. I would happily book the White Hart again next time I visit Hythe.

It was a warm day and we sat in the covered courtyard which offered shady snd sunny areas. The food was yummy. The beer and wine cold. We enjoyed the meal and ambience so much we returned the next day. We shall return.

The White Hart was recommended to me as a suitable venue for a family birthday celebration. Although I booked in advance, the owner was flexible when I asked to add a couple of late guests and even called me a few hours before to let me know that they'd sold out of Sunday Roasts....what attention to detail ! The venue itself was really nice and cosy and the waitress who served us (Charlotte) was super friendly and really helped make the meal a success. Highly recommended.

I ordered a chicken salad which was charged at £11.00. It contained a small amount of chicken and not much lettuce and salad. Come on guys salad doesn't cost much and putting a reasonable amount on makes it look better value for money.

Called in on the off chance on bank holiday Monday for lunch. As we expected, it was busy but we were given a table right away. The menu was not what we expected - it was much better. Not your usual sausage and mash or burgers. Service was predictably slow, due to the number of customers, but the staff were friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. Cant recommend this place highly enough.

We visited for a long overdue family lunch - food, service, setting, menu choice all great - food was delicious- will definitely return!

We arrived at 8:00pm for an 8:15pm booking. Our table was ready and there were other tables unoccupied. We ordered one starter and two main courses: fish and chips and pie of the day. Main course arrived at 9:15! Our waitress told us that the delay was due to other customers with earlier bookings arriving very late. Final irony was that we were rushed to order final drinks as bar was closing. Surely our orders should have been moved ahead of the latecomers? The food was good but we did not order sweets because of the delay. We did not want to be rushed into finishing before the COVID deadline.

I went to this pub in the afternoon, I was served by Toby, he made the most delicious Irish Coffee. Perfect. Toby was very warm and welcoming! Great service.

Fantastic lunch at the White Hart today. A lot of thought has gone into the food. Friendly and professional staff and lovely decor. We would definitely recommend.

No social distancing of customers by the bar , group of men arrived walking in several directions , one walked straight past me instead of out of the exit and back in , failing to observe any marks on the floor , if there are any , for a pub that's already been closed I felt unsafe , I value my like not to return , up to you though .

Ate here without booking on a Wednesday night and they couldn’t have been more welcoming. There are several lovely areas to eat and there all nicely decorated and comfortable. Service was really good, paying attention and keeping on top of things without being over bearing. Menu has loads of options and caters for most dietary needs. Everything we had was wonderful but the stand out was the smoked sticky toffee pudding. The smokey flavour just cut through what can sometimes be a cloying sweetness yet didn’t over power it. Perfect!

The service etc was good as usual. Heard who I assume was manager have a go at a waitress for an easy error. Wasn’t nice to hear. Went for a roast, the beef was great, medium rare and perfect. Potatoes were a bit hard in middle. Shame but it won’t stop me coming again. Just hope waitress was ok.

On holuday in Kent and saw this place in the town centre, so we booked for a meal.Restaurant was lovely, staff very attentive and food was delicious. We had a bottle of Chianti and we ordered Deep Fried Halloumi Tiger Prawns as starters, both were lovely and we were almost licking our plates. For main I ordered 2 Tacos - Pulled Pork variety and fries as a side. Tacos were lovely, but if you're hungry like me, you will need to order 3 and not 2 like me. Wife ordered Chicken and Mushroom pie with chips, cabbage a gravy. Pie was a Hearty fare and she couldn't finish it but loved it.As it was a Tuesday, total bill was £35,which was an absolute bargain, even £55 was a surprise, we thought much more.Overall, lovely staff, nice wine, good cooked with care, would recommend and will re-visit if in the area again.

My partner and I had to wait 45 mins for a steak and a pizza. Pizza had nothing on it, sparse is being polite. The steak on the hand was lovely and perfectly cooked. Though the whole evening was ruined by the complete lack of Interest by the staff. The food would of been easily rectified if the staff paid more attention. We completely understand the staff are busy....but many tables around us were asked if everything was ok and no one came to us !!??, but lack of common courtesy is completely unacceptable. We had Sunday lunch here recently and I can quite honestly say it was one of the best we have ever had. Meat cooked perfectly, roast potatoes crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside, crisp vegetables, to die for big Yorkshire puddings and a very generous amount of gravy (which pleaded the northern girl in me!) would travel down from London just to eat here again..

My actual review got Censored because I spoke about some other guest. Staff and food were great, halloumi fries exceptional. Look on Google Review for drink guest story and how the staff exceptionally handled that.

First visit to hythe and found the white hart in the high street. The staff were very friendly and the pub was covid secure we had a meal in the resturant which was steak burger the food was excellent and served quickly. Would recommend this pub if looking for a friendly eatery with good staff.

Full H&S in place but this did not deter from the welcome given by the staff. Had a lovely lunch of shared wraps and baked camembert.

We came here early Saturday evening, without booking, and were fitted in. I think in future I will book.The staff were lovely, knowledgeable and attentive without being obtrusive. Service was good with just the right amount of waiting time between each course.The food was delicious, we shared garlic mushrooms to start, for yhe main course my husband had the pie, which was freshly cooked, we were warned there would be a 20 minute wait, I had chicken from the specials board, it was delicious. For dessert we shared vegan cheesecake, again lovely.I was very impressed, we will definitely return.

I'd seen a previous comment about being dog friendly so we went for a booked Sunday lunch, the staff were friendly and attentive. Our mains were delicious, especially the pork, so we opted for desserts which were also just as yummy - I could barely finish my sundae but it was definitely worth it. Hope to go back sometimes when we're out walking the dogs.

This pub was local, dog friendly and had good reviews so booked for Sunday lunch. We arrived as it opened and weren't too sure when we arrived - a bit 'spit and sawdust' but it was clean and the staff were very friendly. The menus were tatty but we ordered and hoped for the best. By about 12:30 the place was pretty much full and the staff were turning people away whio had not booked. The food arrived and was excellent - my life has a thing abiout proper home made lasagne and she thoroughly enjoyed this when it arrived. We had deserts and the sundae was tremendous (we are still burning off the calories). All in all a great place which was let down with first impressions.

Had a lovely cosy evening at the white hart. Great staff in the bar and restaurant and then to top it off had a black brioche burger. Was apprehensive until I had it absolutely delicious cant wait to go back and have another.

Absolutely amazing food. The Mustard Coated Pork Tenderloin in particular is incredible. Will definitely come again in the future.

We were a party of 10 Sunday lunch. The bar area staff were very friendly offering a wide choice of ales. Shown through to our table we were taken care of by Holly who was excellent. We had Tempura battered prawns for a starter and either roast beef or pork for the main, all the meals were delicious and served piping hot. We as a group do this sort of thing on a regular basis, the White Hart was one of the best. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE

Lovely atmosphere, in an old English pub. Standard menu and also a specials menu, which is usually fresh fish. We had skate & plaice which were both delicious. The fish pie is also a must have too. Staff friendly and experienced.

We visited here in the spell between Christmas and New Year, just needed to get out for some fresh air and a change of scenery. What a pleasant surprise The White Hart turned out to be. Tables not crammed together, lovely staff and the food was just perfect. Will definitely go again in 2020!

So glad we stumbled upon this place. The food and service were great! The pub was bright spacious and clean. Huge portions so we didn’t go for starters. My husband loved his turkey Sunday roast. He can be fussy with his meat but he ate everything on his plate. The kids loved the meaty lasagne and creamy mac and cheese. I had a very tasty Cumberland sausage and mash. The gravy was particularly flavoursome. Prices were reasonable and service excellent. We would definitely return. Well behaved dogs allowed at least at the front of the pub. There was a good atmosphere and the place was busy for Sunday lunch.
