The White Bull in Wyre

Arranged to meet friends who staying in the lakes from Scotland. Thought it would of been a bit more foody type pub. I had the ultimate burger with meat from the local butchers which was tasty but overall the food was very average. Service was slow even though they weren't busy. We decided to sit outside because there was no atmosphere inside. Coffee and tea were instant and tea bags! Overall disappointing, not particularly cheap and struggled to understand the 5 star reviews.

Ever so friendly and welcoming staff. Chilled atmosphere, weekend entertainment and good food. Must sit outside by the canal next time!

Lovely bar,very friendly staff and lovely beers .we sat outside on the canal in the sun.we ordered a pizza and it was excellent,delicious in fact.two girls on really made us feel at home so we will be back again.

Wonderfully warm welcome from the staff in the White Bull. I was absolutely shocked at the value for money and fabulous service at this lovely pub that backs on to the canal. From the moment I walked into the pub, the lovely staff were very welcoming and attentive, making sure I was informed of all the specials and offers available. We opted for the £15 burger and pint and had realistic expectations for what we would receive. What was served was a fabulous, crispy coated, perfectly cooked moist chicken breast burger and beautiful fries, that I only just managed to finish. In my opinion, The White Bull is superb value for money and would highly recommend this pub. Thank you so much for exceeding my expectations.

"The location by the canal is very picturesque, and they have an excellent attitude towards dogs. They even offered my pup a bowl of water and some treats. While the selection of ales is not extensive, you can try each type for free. The cider selection is also limited, but they have an excellent apple cider. The food is great, especially the garlic bread that they baked for us on the spot. The burgers are very filling, but the experience was slightly ruined by the burger buns, which were not grilled and looked like the cheapest buns you can buy at a supermarket. Nevertheless, I would recommend this place as the prices are reasonable."

The food here is fabulous, the service excellent and the manageress is a diamond. We were made welcome as soon as we walked in the door and she went out of her way to fuss over my elderly mother. 10 out of 10.

We called in after a walk and was greeted by Alice with a friendly welcome. The pub is dog friendly and we were given biscuits and water for our furry friends. We ordered food which was delicious. One of our friends had locked her keys in her car and Alice was so lovely trying to help us. Would definitely recommend

Stopped in for fish and chips, the fresh beer batter was light and crisp and the chips were pretty good to. Very competitive pricing for the area 5/5.

Excellent and friendly service. Made to feel welcome. The menu is all traditional food cooked fresh on the premises. I'm looking forward to trying more of their offerings.

Staff were lovely but food was dreadful, soggy microwaved cheese and onion pie, and stale bread and cold chicken with runny mayo on a sandwich.

Had an amazing gammon and pie of the day, both were so so tasty! The entire environment & feel were spectacular, so warm and welcoming!

Popped in for a half with the dogs. We and the dogs were made very welcome with water and treats for them.

Only ever popped in twice, last week and last October both times nice welcome had a quick pint,but next time might try a meal it smelt bloody beltiin.Nice pub.👍

Rang over a week in advance of us visiting to ask were they showing the football and was told they was, so we booked a table for Saturday night just gone, the pub is nice not very many staff only seen 1 on the bar and 1 waitress, it did take over 1 hr for a food to arrive even though the pub was practically empty, food was OK, I asked the staff could they put on the football as that was the only reason we choose to eat there I was told yes I will do it for you now, 15 minutes later a group of youths came in and had this terrible music playing on the juke box, mean while we're still waiting in the TV to channel to be changed and after 20 minutes we gave up and left, we went over to the pub across the road which had a much more welcoming vibe and they had the match playing, I don't think we will be coming here again it is quite poorly run and was more of a youth club than a pub/restaurant, plus half the menu was not available as apparently they had run out ? And we was never even offered a dessert menu so not even sure if they have desserts.

We enjoyed a 5 star experience at the White Bull this Xmas. The staff were excellent. Really accommodating and helpful. The food was also top notch bar food. The burgers were amazing. Enjoyed the real fires too. A great little boozer.

Great Friday night experience, Alice is so welcoming and it was great to see traditions carrying on with regulars gathering for a few drinks and something to eat . Food was great and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back

Called in and found a little gem. The landlady was friendly , welcoming and created a lovely buzz about the pub. I’m not usually keen on burgers but they were lovely and fresh and tasty- made fresh to order. Many thanks for a lovely lunch!

1st time in visiting and have to say it was fantastic. Staff were lovely. Food was amazing the kids portions were huge. Even had colouring, jenga and dominoes for the kids to play whilst we waited. Excellent food and service👌

I have given this five stars because although it is a bit basic the staff are so friendly and helpful and the food we had (burgers with all the trimmings) was rather good. No frills but a welcoming friendly pub.

Booked an evening gathering of 12 for a friend's 50th. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Part of the celebrations was a meal. Again, the staff couldn't have done more, very attentive. And the quality of the food (by Bistro Street) was brilliant and prices were very reasonable. During the day you can sit on the canal side and watch the boats go past. Certainly worth a revisit when we're back in this area.

Visited here after receiving DIRE service at Owd Nells up the road and I’m so glad we did. We had a party of 5 and the service here is exceptional, both warm and welcoming and very much has that family feel. The food is as homemade as you can get and is OUTSTANDING, all made with locally produced produce and simply means a family businesses helping each other out and not some conglomerate banging out bad service and dire grub. If your passing or staying at The Premier Inn across the road then head across the road and pop in for a friendly pint and homemade grub.

Loved the place very very clean and the young lady who has recently taken over was very friendly and my husband enjoyed his Guinness and we look forward to visit again we wish her the very best of luck in her new venture

Food was excellent, would recommend the brisket of beef, and the bangers and mash. Real ale kept well. The staff very friendly and nothing was too much for them. Cancel side location nice, clean and tidy. Definitely will be returning.

We had a lovely Sunday meal at the White Bull. Excellent taste and good choice with all 4 meals eell-prepared. Can recommend quality & value for money. Oh and the service was excellent - very friendly girl!

Lovely clean pub , excellent food (cheese, onion amd potato pie) and sit outside afterwards watching the water birds and canal boats right beside the pub. Far cheaper too than the Garden Centre next door that we visited also

Popped in here whilst staying at the premier inn across the road. Family of 5 and each and every one of us absolutely loved it. Great home made food, something a little different from your ‘run of the mill’ pubs that serve food and all of it absolutely faultless. Wonderful Staff too. Thank you l.

Brilliant Burgers, awesome ales, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Now get yourself some firewood & coal and turn the heat up! We had just walked 9 miles up the canal in wind & rain and would have stayed all afternoon if it was warmer.

We visited twice for meals whilst staying at the Premier Inn over the road. The choice was a little limited I think this was down to the fact its under new management but all the same it was still good.I had bangers and mash and the wife has local home made pie.There was more than enough I struggled to eat all of mine as the sausages were presented in the Cumberland circular style and there was a lot of it. At £13 I did think it was a tad expensive but it was good.I would visit again the barman who looked after us had a beard I didn't get his name but he was very pleasant and helpful

Friendly service, 2 Cask ales & a variety of draft lagers & cider. I didn't eat the food looked very appealing. Lovely canal side outdoor seating. A great stop on our boat cruise.

Booked a table for Sunday evening on the day, when we arrived we bought drinks and chose a table - it was then the server came and advised that half the menu was off and they had burgers but no cheese. Ordered what limited food they had but then the food came without the sauces which were also out of stock… we were charged full price. Won’t be coming back I’m afraid. Waitress was very friendly

We booked a table here at the last minute, having ditched our previous booking at another nearby pub on a recommendation. So pleased that we did! The food was delicious, proper down to earth tasty home cooking, I haven't had a pub meal that good for ages! The staff were thoroughly charming, very friendly, cheery and helpful. An altogether delightful experience, highly recommended!

A long wait for food, only 6 of us. Then when food arrived things that were advertised on the menu didn't come. Salad was just mixed lettuce and red onion. No dressing.. Not really a salad.. Very expensive for what you got especially if parts of it was missing

Wow, ordered chips and a drink. The chips was the largest portion EVER. Could serve more than 2.cause was me and my husband, and we were stuffed.

Bangers and mash at 13 pounds. it came with frozen chips and looked like powdered mash, 3 tiny thin sausages. The meal must of cost well under a quid, absolutely tasteles too. Nice staff though. 08/08/21

Took my boyfriend to this charming little pub as part of a birthday celebration. The food was lovely and the staff very attentive and friendly! The pub is beautiful and so well-kept. The landlords, Steve and Jen, are doing a bang-up job.

Visited the White bull with my family , such a fantastic pub lovely & clean & nicely decorated . Lovely outside area & indoors is so cosy too . Owners were so friendly & even remembered us from last time. Great service & the food was gorgeous , pizzas were amazing (best I've tasted) . Will 100% be returning , loved it!!

Had a lovely afternoon by the canal in this much improved pub. Shared an afternoon tea and ploughman’s between us which was first rate. Brilliant value compared to other venues. Outside seating area is lovely with part under cover. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and Jenny was really helpful telling us about the local area and canal trips. Definitely be returning.

Fab weekend with fab company. The pub is in a lovely location right on the canal. Helped that the weather was lovely but great spot for a really chilled time.Later on we went inside and enjoyed the live music.We all enjoyed pizza (I'm a really fussy eater). Tasted lovely and generous toppings.Staff including landlady and landlord really friendly. Had a great time and would recommend a visit

Having now frequented this establishment on 2 different occasions I would not recommend anyone trying to order food unless you want the wrong order , or someone else's order or no order at all. Also they can't get the bill right I have nearly paid for other people's bill as the waitress ing is chaotic at best. Needless to say I won't be hurrying back in the near or distant future.Mr S Campbell.

Very disappointed as all reviews I read were goodWe order sandwiches and chips and Caesar salad Wasn’t happy as Thin sliced cheap bread with margarine spread very little tuna ran out of sweet corn and had to wait an hour for it Caesar Salad was a piece of breaded chicken with rocker and cucumber and after sending it back it they added anchovies,After complaining we were told they ran out of stuff and were struggling as chef off ill Anyone can make a sandwich and if they had ran out of food and not capable of making sandwiches they should of told us this when taking the bookings instead of us waiting over an hour. Whilst watching the young lad popping to the shop to get some cheap bread. While we were sat waiting we heard the lady said to two over groups sorry about that. We didn’t have to pay for the tuna sandwiches in the end but we Won’t be going again Shame as nice pub and polite staff.

A great sunny afternoon spent at this delightful pub. The food was excellent with pizza there speciality. Outdoor seating a plenty all along one side of the building spreading to the canal edge. A truly lovely setting. Very helpful staff made our party comfortable and we'll looked after.

Fantastic service, superb pizzas. Dined with a large party outside, lovely. Use of local breweries is a strong selling point.

Stayed on our friends boat on canal and had lunch at the White Bull the food was lovely all of us enjoyed what we ordered. The landlord and landlady were friendly. We spent the evening listening to a bad and had drinks. Overall great weekend and great pub on side of the canal.

Amazing pub, great service and amazing staff 100% recommended. Also they have the most beautiful landlord and lady get yourself down her now !!!!!!
