Nice cozy spot in the center of Prestwick, the particularity of this one, is that is inside of an old church. Quite fascinating architecture.

Went in for drinks ,great prices and service was brilliant ,we had stopped going in because it was always cold ,but think the heating has been upgraded and is now nice and warm .it was great to be in a pub without dogs sniffing about you .Will be back

Came here for pizza and drinks. The vibes are great. We have been to many wetherspoons and this one is my favorite because it's clean and built in the old church building 😊

Spoons is as spoons does, and I'm here for it.

It's another Spoons in an old chapel. I like what they've done with the pulpit area. It's a bit clichéd but it is a business. The building itself seems well finished, it's always good to experience one of the better Spoons branches. It was quiet that evening. Not many in. I ordered my food at the bar, and wondered what sort of rubbish day the staff member had had. They were surly and rude. Was it something I said, I wondered briefly. Anyway, it's another interesting Wetherspoons.

Wetherspoons usual cheap prices, long trek to toilet, quick service in converted church, not much atmosphere midweek.

Good and cheap and right in the centre of town.

Popped in for a quick drink. The building is a converted church so it’s pretty open plan but you can sit upstairs which gives nice views over the whole pub. Ordered on the app and drinks arrived fast. Good beer, nice cocktail. Large toilets upstairs which were clean. Not much more to say!

Nice big Witherspoons, plenty of room and nice staff. We ordered with the app. and the food arrived shortly after , warm and presented well. It's nothing fancy but you just can't beat the prices if you are just looking for a quick bite. Clean toilets and great service, will be back again.

A local institution. Every good night in Ayr starts her. The food and drink are cheaper than many other Wetherspoons and reliably hit the spot. Despite being from a chain it often feels more like a local than many other local bars in town. Lots of locals of all ages and backgrounds pack in every day. The staff are always consistently consistent. I've popped by pleanty over the last ten years and have never recognised any of the staff in the long-term but personally that's not really an issue. Never had a reason to think about the staff after I start eating or drinking. Honestly that may be the Weatherspoons way.

Good menu, cheap drinks and nice staff. Only downside is its a bit cold.

Check out my £9.60 "gourmet" Tennessee burger patties served up to me yesterday at Weatherspoon's West Kirk in Ayr, made from the "finest" Irish and Scottish beef. Cold, thin, burnt and so hard I could hardly get my teeth into them. There's no excuse for this in this day and age of burgers. They are very easy things to make and cook. The booze is cheap(ish), but I would think twice about ordering food there, as if you can't cook a decent burger, there's no chance of you cooking anything else.. 😠

Called in at tee time on Thursday got great deal on food which included a drink. I had a lovely haddock and chips and pint of real ale, great value for money and great service

What a complicated and misleading menu!!!

Well I have been a regular customer since it opened and I have now reached the point I could no longer recommend it. The four of us went on for food and drinks today, three of us had fish and chips and I had a mixed grill, they were all dis-appointed with the fish and chips, the mixed grill was like biltong not even good biltong. I can honestly say the this is the last time I will eat here (except for peanuts) Beer was good and the whole place is long overdue a total renovation. Such a pity but it all has to be said.

Good food and great service.... but needs better range in menu..... eg soup. pies... tray bakes.... sandwiches

At last they ensure the plates for breakfast are hot. Fantastic value for breakfast. Service has improved, but some queues when busy.

We popped in to the west kirk for the first time for some dinner as we were starving, it was fairly busy but we did manage to get a table. We ordered our food using the app and it was served within minutes, the food was very nice, good sized portions for the price, it did the job! It's just like every other wetherspoons really, nothing amazing.

Love this spoons. Many a happy evening drinking some beers here. Nice old church that they have kept alive!

Great value for money esp with breakfast

It was my first time at a place like this. Great place to stop and eat, also some pint.

This is one of the best Wetherspoons I’ve visited, and I’ve visited a few! If you like your curries hot then Thursday night heralds curry night when the naga chilli chicken vindaloo is available. Now, a curry this hot needs a suitable beer. My research suggests that a ruby or stout does a much better job of absorbing the heat than an ipa or even a cobra. And this place has a great track record of supplying the darker options. You might find your complexion reddens, your mouth burns and your eyes sweat, but it’s all worth it! Good luck!

as usual in the west kirk the food was served not that warm and also the coffee from the machines wanst that warm either. certainly prefer the pioneer in prestwick

Food was a bit hit and miss we went for breakfast and the baked beans where dry and hard as if left over from the day before, mushrooms where slimey and got left otherwise wasn't to bad, staff friendly

Disappointed order well done steak and was still red then was re cooked and was tough as a leather boot

I am a big fan of Wetherspoons and have been in this particular bar a few times over the years, however it really lacks atmosphere and it's quite cold inside.

Breakfast was cold no mushroom on plates service was slow waited 30 minutes for breakfast eventually got hold of Manager on shift to complain and she just said sorry got told they were having a nightmare on shift. Disappointed and will not be back

Standard Wetherspoons eateries are almost always the same. I think the food is better than your standard Spoons fare. Prices are lower than Spoons in cities.

This is a Wetherspoons pub and restaurant in Ayr but the building is unique and I've never seen anything like it. When walking past this place I had assumed it was just a church but I was surprised to learn it was renovated into a functioning pub. Going inside you could see how much love they put into this place and I enjoyed my time here. Very standard experience with the food and drinks as I can order through the QR code or in the pub and they would be served to the table. The toilets were very well maintained too and there was a lot of staff happy to help with anything which was a nice difference. Honestly, out of all the Wetherspoons pubs I've been to this easily ranks in the top for me.

This is what you expect, cheap and cheerful. Food is always hot, drinks good. Options to have unlimited drinks with meals. Good selection of hot and cold foods and snacks and for the price it's pretty good quality. The kirk is a converted church with high rafters and nice features.

Recommended for the building alone really. It’s a JD Wetherspoons so you know the score , surely. Loads of ale on and serving food at reasonable prices. Open early too. Only had the one to take in the ambience. Not much going on in there but it’s a nice enough vibe for the one. Like i say, id recommend it for building. The food was cold when it came the beans looked like they had been sat in the pan all morning what a waste of money

On the day we visited, there was a bit of a meltdown. The food menu was on one sheet of paper, and the Wetherspoons App showed that most meals were sold out. After an hour or so, everything was back to normal.

Was ok would possibly visit again when a bit busier

A very busy place, at the top end of the Sandgate in Ayr, with a great atmosphere inside or there's a small seating area outside. As it's an old church, the architecture is beautuful. It's ideally situated for a meal & drinks before a theatre visit at the Gaiety etc. Drinks are cheaper than a lot of places nearby & they serve food all day, again at great prices. It would've been 5 stars if not for the steak I had. This time, that was a bit tough & chewy. The staff are very pleasant & helpful too. Update:- I came again about 10 days or so ago & swayed from my usual fish & chips & decided on the mixed grill. I wish I'd not bothered as the meat was hard & had a weird taste to it. If I'd seen a member of staff nearby to me, I'd have told them, but couldn't see anybody apart from the busy bar staff. The chef must've been having a bad day.

Very dissapointed on our visit earlier today we both had the breakfast choice the breakfast was cold the toast was served on the same plate as the breakfast was on as well as the two small packets of butter for the toast other places we have been the toast and butter were allways on a side plate with the butter and the food was warm was a big dissapointment and one I would not want repeated again

Service can be a bit slow at times, however, don't let that put you off, as this is a decent pub. I now use their App to order my food and drink, it is so much easier

Never served us . Young girl said we had to much to drink even though we don’t drink. We were so embarrassed we just left without arguing. Will never step foot in your premises again.

very dated not great service apart from Jack,he was the only one that stood apart,very polite and helpful,as I was a publican myself he should be fastracked to a management position. I know times are hard,remember acknowledgment while waiting,training needs improved,keep hold of the good people,all said will be back,thanks.

I like it here. Good selection of real ales. The White Witch was pretty good. Had steak and a jacket spud which with a free 660ml bottle of Hazy Jane was good.

Beautiful old church building. Still has a lot of lovely features. Pity about the food. Steak nyt Tuesday. Both our steaks were extremely cheugh. Perfect if you're just in for a cuppa/drink tho.

Always busy and a real gem of a location. The pulpit seat is a must.

What you except from a spoon but for some reason on the first time we went here we were refused service as we didn't want food with our drinks(how stupid) so we left but went back a few days later and they didn't force this rule on us. Food was okay and drinks are what you expect.However the building they converted was interesting as I think it used to be an old church.

Typical Wetherspoons in an interesting building. Our fairly large family group managed to find a table on a busy Saturday lunchtime. We ordered by the app and the food and drink arrived very quickly. It was all ok but the portion sizes were all much smaller than I remember them.

Great place for a drink. Always get a table and always get served. Rarely overcrowded. Close to bus station so great if you miss your bus!

Great coffee. Breakfast. Refused the advertised breakfast. Ended up paying double. Food arrived quickly and stone cold. No one asked if food ok or offered to clear table. Not impressed at all.

Enjoyed our short stay as we watched the womens football final. Shame they lost good game.

Good curry night experience. Busy curry night but quick service and tasty food. Staff were working very hard especially clearing up. Some customers were messy leaving food on the floor.

Visited for breakfast. You can order through an app and everything gets brought to the table. Food could do with being slightly hotter on this occasion but it was still nice and great value.

Took my 2 grandchildren.Around 11 a.m.Would not serve us coffee and 2 soft drinks without buying a meal. Manager blamed South Ayrshire Council imposing extra strict regulations on this pub. Contacted SAC.They are going to pay him a visit.This issue has appeared in lots of reviews.Something not right here.

Full of oldies as you'd expect, but a really great fish and chips with a leffe, in the afternoon, for about £8 is truly outstanding value. I shouldn't really recommend it as I'll never get a seat again! 😋

Three times visited on each night on our stay in Ayr and had no problems. Service was slick and efficient. No trouble. Nice atmosphere. Excellent prices.
