Great place for breakfast, delicious food and coffee.

Didnt have food just popped in for a drink after eating next door. It was busy for a Sunday night we had a few cocktails which were nice and reasonable priced. Staff were pleasant

Sizeable portions Attentive, cheery staff. Quite busy. Music a bit loud for a Friday mid afternoon

Had full breakfast was served in a frying pan was a nice touch and great presentation. Hot chocolate was nice. Staff were fine. Could do with music on or if so volume up a little. Only issue was butter was solid so couldn't use.

First time visiting here with a friend for tea. Luvly friendly welcome from staff and bar staff, we njoyed a luvly bottle of Pinot Grigio, and ordered Pizzas, a Diavola (Italian Pepperoni, mozzarella and chillies) and a La Carne (pepperoni, chicken and mozzarella) both were delicious, tasty thin crust base and loads of toppings. Best pizza I've had in a long while. It's a bright, spacious bar, with a friendly atmosphere, we will return, I highly recommend a visit here . :) :)

Quick service and turnaround. Fresh tasty food. Family of 4 adults. Lovely thin pizzas homemade dough ; ciabbata with halloumi and wedges. Delicious.

Stopped for dinner without a booking on a busy Sunday night and we were made very welcome, a table was found for us after a short wait, both pizza and cocktails were delicious. Dog friendly to boot.

Best tuna melt ever! Accompanied by a really nice homemade sweet potato and carrot soup. I wish I had photographed it before it was demolished. Hubby had BLT and wedges also great. Full bar warm and friendly great service

Had the bruschetta. To die for enough as a share. Place is small but very under rated staff are exceptional and attentive. Will definitely come again. Food is fantastic

Serve a pizza with the edge visibly charred... pitch black... 5 to 10 minutes later, another pizza is served with the edges burned again. just the same pizza, but the bad edges have been polished away. The pizzas on the table next to me are not burned. Too bad because the taste was quite good.

Nice wee place! Wonderful brunch selection! I got the 3 egg omelette with black pudding chilli and I added sun-dried tomatoes! Really nice, pleasant staff, section of alcohol on offer! Would go back!

Good quality food at a reasonable price, we went for lunch the food was good quality and service quick considering it was busy, my kids had a cheese and tomato pizza which looked lovely I had the spinata ciabatta and soup which again was great, the coffee was also brilliant, will definitely be back

Great thin and crispy pizza 🍕 and they had no problem doing a cheeseless one for hubby. Speedy attention from all staff and food arrived quickly too. Here on a Weds at about 7, and was filling up as we left. Oh and background music just right for conversation too.

Cocktails good but the staff need more training - bar not busy and staff standing behind the bar when tables needed cleaned - and when prompted only cleaned half the table - staff need training - your customers are why you are here - do better !!

First and last visit here. We had a table booked for 11am, we waited an hour for our food, no apology or no one told us it was going to be a bit of a wait. I understand you can get busy days and can be understaffed but no one thought to mention this to us. We were well finished our drinks before our food came out. The 3 friends I was with got their food and almost finished there’s before mine came out. Again no apology at all. The food was average and overpriced in my opinion. And when our bill was being paid the staff didn’t even ask “how was your meal” worst customer service I have experienced. I will not be recommending this place and I will never step foot in this place again

My daughter couldn’t wait to visit the west house for breakfast. Having seeing pictures from her friends snapchats she thought the pancakes and waffles smothered with Nutella looked to die for. We visited one day to be turned away as they were fully booked… wow!! This place must be amazing… We booked for following weekend and were excited to try out this popular menu. After arriving we were seated and provided water, ordered hot chocolate and coffee which arrived quickly and tasted on point. Delicious! We also ordered our food and then proceeded to wait over one hour on an uncomfortable stool for breakfast… not once were we approached to ask or advised if we were able to wait this long. Once the food arrived not once did any member of staff approach our table to ask if everything was ok, did we require any further beverages. Really the service was shocking and the food very mediocre. I ordered the skillet and think I nearly broke my tooth trying to eat the sourdough toast. My kids could not even eat the waffles as the amount of Nutella smothered over the waffles was insane… (might be amazing for some) but sickly for most I imagine in that abundance. We will 100% not return. I can assure you the price tag did not fit the service or goods. Disappointed is an understatement. And yes this is my first ever review.. I felt so frustrated that I wanted to share my feedback.

Pizza was really good. Crust was thin and crispy, definitely homemade. Toppings delicious. Very nice atmosphere. Would be pleasant in the evenings too. Very recommended.

We went twice while staying in Dundee and the food and service were both awesome, the GF menu and service made me feel quite at ease for my daughter to eat and it was all delicious

Great pasta, really, really good pizza, quick friendly service (even on a busy night). Highly recommend. Even stopped for coffee in the morning - also good.

I freaking love this place, every time I’ve went in, the food is genuinely so delicious💓, it’s cheap and most meals are about a tenner for amazing food💓, the staff are lovely and very welcoming, the seats are nice, the scenery is quite foresty & plants.

I went to the West House with kids/teenagers. Looks really simple and basic when you walk in but to our surprise the food was pretty good. We really enjoyed carbonara, pizza was good, chorizo with tomatoes. Prices are moderate. Aaaa…. Try IPA from tap.

We visited based on previous reviews and weren't disappointed. It's a bright, airy venue and service was prompt and friendly. We ordered carbonara, a pizza and halloumi salad. All the food was delicious as were the desserts, sticky toffee pudding and the Belgian waffle.. It was perfect for what we wanted and reasonably priced too.. Most importantly, our dog was allowed in. Definitely worth a visit.

Welcoming staff, a great atmosphere and lovely food. An asset to Dundee! Ordered the macaroni cheese and garlic bread and it was fantastic! Plenty flavour and a fantastic experience in this restaurant. Will definitely be visiting again!

Food was great but the service was only average. Food sat for a good few minutes before being served. Nice atmosphere but the high table we were at wasn't very comfortable.

Service was fantastic, and the decor was lovely. Food arrived fresh and hot. We both had poached eggs and avo on toast with coffee and orange juice each. The bill was really reasonable also.

Friendly staff and a cosy atmosphere, yummy cocktails but average food. We came for dinner as a small group of girls after good recommendations. Very limited dinner menu, only really pasta or pizza options. I had a pizza and it was so thin it was basically like a hard tortilla. This allowed for little topping which ended up quite dry. It was fairly tasty but won’t be getting again. The menu was affordably priced, and there was a good selection of cocktails to choose from. Would still give this place a go for breakfast as maybe that’s its stronger area.

I have visited The West House couple times and both times enjoyed my food and service was excellent. I like the style of the place and music was really good. They do half of the pizza and soup of the day - which I find great combination :)

Food always top quality, some inconsistencies in past visits Staff are attentive and always keep themselves occupied, check backs are spot on and prices are very good for the environment. Lovely interior.

Had lovely sharing plate of nachos with pulled pork and another of antipasto food and a beer or two. Food amazing. Service a bit slow. Food more than makes up for it. Recommend.

Main meal was pretty good, but the sticky toffee pudding seemed like it was shop-bought (a bit sickly sweet and I wish I'd not bothered). Although it says you don't need to book, I'd suggest doing so or you'll risk being stuck next to the toilets like we were. Staff weren't very attentive but seemed pretty friendly.

Apart from the seats beside the toilet which was supposedly our only option since we hadn't booked, food was not to bad - until the sticky toffee pudding came. Sickly sweet and suspiciously tin-shaped, it spoiled an otherwise mediocre eating experience. Then, somehow, 4 other diners magically got better seats despite not booking either. Won't be back.

We popped in this morning for breakfast and really enjoyed everything from the coffee, the food and the service. The menu has so much to choose from and the staff so accommodating and friendly. We’d definitely return if we visit Dundee again!

Always a high consideration when heading into the city centre for lunch/brunch/breakfast. Very good prices, fantastic food and service. Very warm environment to relax and catch up!

I went here for dinner one night and we loved it so much we went back for breakfast the following morning!! The staff are so friendly and helpful. The menu has something for everyone and the food really is excellent! Cooked and seasoned to perfection, presented very well. This really is a place you should visit!!

Probably the most expensive pub in town £4.80 for a pint of lager and I sell same pint for €2.50 in Spain pathetic money pure greed

Booked a table for 4 at 5pm. Table wasnt ready for us but no big deal. Was given a choice of where to sit and then it was set up for us. We ordered our drinks & meals. Pasta was a bit too Al dente. Pizza was brought to table with apologies that it was burnt in some parts chef said a replacement could be done if required. Was given a go but taste wasn't good so declined pizza after a few minutes. It shouldn't have been brought out thst way. Bread & olive starter wasn't cleared away & had to go to bar to order drinks. Won't hurry back.

My friend and I popped in here on Thursday night. We were going to the Rep so popped in for something light. The service, food and whole evening was amazing. The guys behind the bar were fabulous. The whole place and toilets were spotless, and I know for sure we will be back.

We’ve just had two nights in Dundee and with two of the group gluten free you always have to be careful. The West House was fantastic! Great, chilled atmosphere, cool despite a ridiculously hot day and fantastic food. The staff were great - efficient and on the ball but giving you space to just relax and enjoy the meal. We’d happily visit again.

Ate at the West House the other night after getting a recommendation from the receptionist in our Hotel. She told us they served lovely pizzas and pasta and she was right! The pizza especially was very tasty and thin crust which we love. We also used the sun terrace earlier that day. It’s well set out with good seating and umbrellas and a bit of a sun trap. Prices were very reasonable and we had excellent service from Nick and Dan. Would certainly eat here again on our next visit to Dundee. 👍

Great find when we found this earlyish one morning. As tourists we found professional and friendly service w delicious food.

Shambolic service took. Drinks fine when they eventually arrived.

Not for me. I went with family and had pancakes. 3 small bought pancakes, not homemade. And half a jar of Nutella for about £8 be lucky if it cost £1 to make. Trendy place probably more for folk in their late teens early 20s. (I'm 36) if you go then get eggs, those dishes looked better and were the same price.

Very good food! Had the pulled beef sandwich and didn't expect much but was absolutely positively surprised!

Very average bar thats more like a café. Friendly staff. Odd menu but cheap. Food is very average too. Ours took 45 minutes to arrive :( Often busy it seems... so best to book. Toilets clean. That's all.

Eggs Benedict with crispy Parma ham and black pudding was outstanding . Expect a wait as small kitchen and 1 lad cooking but worth the wait . And dog friendly

The staff here are soooo friendly! I’ve visited twice now for a gluten free pizza and some wine and both times the girls serving our table were super smiley and helpful. The second time it was super busy and they seemed under staffed but it didn’t affect the service at all. The pizza was incredible too, will 100% be back.

Great Bar and nice service. Long time for the brunch on sunday. French Toast is so good crispy and yummy sauce. Price has changed a bit compared with the past price.
