The Wee Puffin in Highland

Lovely little bistro type place on the main high street in Grantown on Spey. Nice cosy atmosphere Good food with a varied menu. The cocktails delicious! Large selection of fine whiskeys if that’s your thing. Staff young and able and friendly. Well done to them all especially the kitchen staff who must work their socks off.

The restaurant is small and feels a bit cramped. But overall we enjoyed our meal and were satisfied with both the food and service.

Had the best cocktails ever - served by the two delightful lassies (am I allowed to use that term?). The Wee Puffin is a great asset to Grantown, serving honest food at an honest price. It would be very strange indeed if anyone found any fault at this eatery,

The food was very good. The cocktails were very good. The young lassie waitressing was friendly and welcoming. However, the other lassie (I assume manager) was certainly not friendly or welcoming. She was rude to us and we watched another couple come in and they were given the same treatment for a booking mix up. Easy to see it’s a high tourist area and she didn’t care about customer satisfaction.

After struggling to get a Take Away we called the Wee Puffin. We had to go see the menu and then relay it back to our companions. The order of 14 adult and one child meals were duly produced (whilst they continued to serve restaurant diners). The food was excellent quality and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Excellent service with superb friendly staff, booked ahead and got a table. The menu was wonderful and the staff and restaurant were totally doggie friendly. Great food and enough drink on show to float a big boat. You will not be disappointed.

We had a lovely family dinner. Simple but excellent food at a very reasonable price. The girls who served were lovely - they caputured our mood so well. Definitely a place to revisit next time we are there.

Nice friendly staff and good food at a reasonable price. You may need to book as it is quite small and seems to be very popular. We went when it opened and so didn't have a problem. Food was delicious.

Cozy, family run restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wide ranging menu with soups, salads, burgers menu and daily specials reasonable priced. I enjoyed a Madras chicken curry and sticky toffee pudding, both very good. A full bar with specialty cocktails, wines and a selection of beers. Clearly a local favorite and very busy, so reservations for dinner are a must unless you get there very early.

Amazing service and the food and portion size was excellent, would highly recommend this brilliant restaurant but because it is such good value you really need to book to make sure you get a table

Booked a table last minute on a Saturday night for a family trip in Grantown. Was served promptly, staff were lovely, and food was excellent. Reasonably priced too. Would certainly return when next in Grantown.

A local restaurant that always seems to be packed, so indicative of the quality of food. We had pre booked as first night we couldn't get a table. Had drinks (lots of local specialities) ,the drinks menu is very good value; haggis, tatties & neeps and I had a special dish of Puffin Balmoral Chicken (chicken breast on a bed of haggis served with veg and rice). Only criticism of the Wee Puffin is that we had to wait quite a while to place our food order probably about 25 mins (it was very busy with other diners coming and going). The Wee Puffin offers a take-away service as well. Food was hot, delicious and good portions. As the evening wore on and tables left, other couples and groups were coming in and able to get seats so my advice would to be go later on if you haven't got a booking. Highly recommend.

This is a wee restaurant but with a great menu and excellent service. We ate here twice in 5 days and would definitely recommend booking. Very good selection of craft beers too.
