Brilliant! It used to be a pub, but they have changed it into a super cafe and farm shop. The all day breakfast I had was super. Generous portion and very good value. Same goes for the soup of the day. The owner and his family were very welcoming and helpful. We will drop in again. Thanks

I wanted to thank the two ladies who served me despite they were closing. I appreciate this place existing after walking for over 4 hours (got another 30 at least to go yet!?!🤪) From coming from Manchester to the bus to Dove Holes High Peek and walked...YES!!! to Peak District dodging cars, it was a fun day out and to cap it off I got something on the way home thanks to The Olive Tree!😋

We often drive past here on our way to other destinations in Derbyshire. Pulled in for a quick coffee and toast. Saw the menu and had full breakfasts. One vegetarian, one not. Both excellent. Rounded off with two lovely latte’s. Staff very welcoming. It has a village feel to it. One bonus, as it is converted pub it has full sized separate toilets, not the shared cramped converted pantry you find in some places

This was my first visit and the shop looked really nice, however the same could not be said about the cafe. I ordered a tea with soya milk and another member of my party asked if they did decaf coffee, with the proviso that if so, then she would like a decaf Americano with hot milk; the waitress did not know if either soya or decaf was available. To be fair to her, she was new (she informed us )and she also didn't know what the soup of the day was. The waitress was pleasant. My soya milk was decidedly off when I tasted it so I'm not sure how long that had been open. The decaf coffee arrived, already mixed and it was clear that this was an instant coffee. The vegetable soup looked promising but a first taste rendered it totally inedible with a most peculiar tang so one spoonful and I left it. When we came to pay, the pleasant waitress asked if everything had been okay to which I pointed out it had not and she proceeded to charge me for the full amount regardless. After leaving, I reconsidered the amount charged and decided I had been overcharged so returned to check the prices. I was refunded the difference as I had indeed been overcharged. Good job I checked. I certainly won't be returning any time soon but I hope the owners read this and rectify matters.

Just stopped at The Olive Tree Farm Shop, to grab a quick bite en route. What a fantastic little shop & eatery! We had a delicious bacon butty & warm vegan sausage roll to take away and both the carnivore & the vegan were happy!!! We will definitely stop here again when passing through!

I'm unsure if the bearded gent I saw parked round the back of the building was part of the team/ownership (he appeared to be) however it appeared he was and he gave the biggest smile and I immediately felt welcomed. I was personally taken aback with how friendly the lady was on entering and how lovely she was whne serving us.. Even telling us the best things to get for our money! The food and drink arrived in good time, it was nice to see locally produced items being used. Both meals were nice quality and worth the money paid. The only negative we found was the inside of a teacup was a little dirty, but my friend didn't wish to speak up about this. To finish on a positive note.. Nothing seemed too much hassle and I wouldn't 2nd think to come here again if passing by :)!

Have passed the Wanted many times on days out into Derbyshire , but never stopped . So at the weekend decided to call in . What a treat , it’s a very friendly place with a restaurant, or comfortable settees to sit in, or just the bar area , where you can get a drink, light or large meal , or just a coffee and cake . The food was well prepared and tasted as good as it looked, and the staff were very friendly. There is a small area where you can purchase foodstuffs to take out or buy some farm produce.

Stop off for some grub after some wild camping in the camper. Unfortunately though not entirely surprising they weren't doing meals as it was New Year's Day, just soup and a sarnie for £7. The soup, two choices, leek n broccoli, or tomato and carrot was gorgeous, but the sarnie choice of ham or cheese was simply two slices of limp white bread with either filling in. It was New Year's Day though so I don't blame them. The pub is a beautiful classic old school place to stop n relax, warm and cosy, and welcoming with a big burning stove to get warm by, and welcoming ladies to serve you. I will try and stop by again and try some proper grub.

My husband had the pate for a starter and Lamb in Red Wine for his main, he even managed a dessert of Sticky Toffee Pudding with homemade custard. I tried it, and it was delicious, but I could not manage one myself as I was already full.We both said afterwards that it was one of the tastiest pub meals we have had.Everyone else's meal was of the same high standard and I can't wait to go back and sample some of the other dishes. Called at the wanted inn for an evening meal. Had liver and bacon with onion gravy. Plates and food were hot, liver was so tender you didn't need a knife to cut it. Really welcoming atmosphere coal fires in bar and dining room. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely eat here again.

The meal I had was Lamb the meat was so tender it melted in your mouth, the veg an assortment were cooked to perfection!!! My Husband had beef and he said that was so tender he really didn't need a knife!! We then had sweets the apple pie & cheese cake were fab !!! The other people that were coming & going were all complimenting the cooks, !! I wonder where some people go to eat when they give such bad reports. We shall be back & recommending this place for a long time. Also the staff went out of their way to help in everything you wanted.

What can I say. Beyond rubbish. Husband had what they called fish chips and mushy peas. The fish was grey with awful cheap batter. Yuk. I had what they called cheese and onion pie. Which was cheddar cheese and raw onion thrown into a dish (that was it. Nothing more) and undercooked pastry on top. If I was on desert island and this was the only meal, I would starve rather than eat this rubbish. Oh dear, I feel sick thinking of it . I had what they called grey w grey

Very very very rude!!!!!! Having driven by several times we always said we'd stop here as it looked lovely, how deceptive looks can be. On entering we were impressed with the array of farm produce for sale. Then we were greeted by the unfriendly server. We asked if they were still serving food as the signs outside said they were...they weren't. Instead of being polite about it they were rude and ignorant. Definitely not used to such horrific customer service

Been meaning to stop and try this place for awhile so finally stopped while passing through today. Signs outside saying great homemade food and when we entered there were menus on all the tables. After looking at the selection of homemade jams and chutneys, we made our way to the bar and were met by the most rude unfriendly woman imaginable. Not sure if she was the owner or a member of staff but she really should not be involved in bar work with her attitude. No smile, no welcome, no hello, no 'what can I get you?'. Just a sour face and gutter attitude. After ordering drinks we asked if they were serving food and this was met with an abrupt 'no!'. Nothing more, nothing less. It's a shame for this place to have such rude unfriendly owners/staff as I'm sure it would do well with a better attitude as it is on a well travelled road with little competition. We would also have spent some money on duck eggs and the jams and chutneys but the attitude stopped us spending another penny in the place. We won't be stopping there again and in future will stop off somewhere more welcoming

Tried here as we were staying locally. It has plenty of seats and service was very good. Food was reasonably priced at around £9 for a main course. Menu was sadly limited but made onsite which was a nice change. Food is OK nothing special. But saved a drive to another town.

Visited recently after a lovely afternoon in Castleton, 2 options on the menu, a cheese and onion pie served with a few sloppy cold vegetables or a roast dinner with 1 roast potatoe and 2 pieces of sloppy cold veg. There were children, who I assume belonged to the owner, running in and out of the kitchen ! Very unfriendly staff throughout, after an expensive and rather unpleasant experience we would not recommend this place. The apple pie was very nice however.

Our walking group pre warned the landlady we were coming and the sign at the entrance said "Muddy boots and dogs welcome" . However she asked us all to go outside because she was serving Sunday meals. The room was empty before we went in and empty when we left, very disgruntled and we spent over a £100 . It would have been more if we had been welcomed, and not rudely greeted ! It will not be included on our pub stop in the future. The posher room had a few diners in.

Having often driven past The Wanted Inn and promised ourselves that one day we would dine there, we tried it recently and were very disappointed. Never go there if you are hungry!!!! Cheese and onion pie was served with sparse helping of cold vegetables. Not even any chips..... Another member of our party ordered roast which was served with ONE ROAST POTATO!!! Again cold vegetables. Very stingy. The apple pie was good. Would not recommend this establishment for food.

We met up for our annual lunch with some English friends who live abroad and never having visited The Wanted Inn we were a little anxious that it might not be to everyone's liking. We needn't have worried, it was great, the friendly owners, who work behind the bar and in the kitchen were very attentive and produce extremely good pub grub. The steak and ale pie which we chose had just come out of the oven, the meat and the short crust pastry just melted in your mouth.A good selection of ales, coffees, a chill cabinet selling pastries and cheeses for anyone just wanting a snack. Free range eggs and even duck eggs for sale, I wish I had bought half a dozen duck eggs. I will make point of going back..Well worth a visit..

We knew this pub had changed hands last year, but hadn't had the opportunity to call in for a while, having been fairly frequent customers in the past. The new landlords have changed some of the décor in the main bar area (added several comfy sofas and pictures in keeping with the pub being a farming community pub), which is nice. We called on a quiet Saturday lunchtime - for much of the time we were the only customers. Service, whilst efficient, was rather unsmiling and lacklustre, a big difference to what it used to be. The old food menu was extensive, with some interesting choices, and the list of specials was always clearly seasonal and varied, without trying to be a gastro pub. The mixed grill was fantastic, and the (locally sourced) steak was some of the best we have ever had. The menu has now been cut down to about a dozen choices of standard pub fare (gammon, sausages, fish & chips, scampi, burger, lasagne, etc., - no mixed grill, no steak). There were 3 specials on offer - a sweet and sour, a curry and something else I can't remember - hardly very special or seasonal. The meals we had were hot, reasonably tasty, well cooked and decent portions, but lacked wow factor. The Wanted was a must visit when we were in the area, now it's likely to be a case of we'll stop here if it fits our travel plans or there's nowhere better to go.

We came here by chance as we were renting a holiday property near by. The pub is run by friendly staff and there is a cosy atmosphere within the pub.The food is home cooked style and is fantastic. My father-in law had gammon steak, which was enormous and i'm told the fish and chips tasted as good as it looked. Being a vegetarian I chose the cheese and onion pie, and whilst not normally being a pie eater, it was full of flavour and the pastry was beautiful.Onto the deserts - Well, save room for pudding.... The treacle sponge was out of this world ,,,,,,, that's it, as no other words would cover how nice this was!Travel to the Inn, and try the food :-)

Called early evening Sunday for a quick meal. A typical country pub with many locals. Quite a rustic feel. Not at all fussy, but I have to say the food was superb. Home made, Beef Sunday dinner, I could have licked the plate clean (I didn't). Reasonably priced. Would definitely return.

We had a pleasant lunch at The Wanted recently. It isn't posh and doesn't pretend to be. The food is honest unpretentious, inexpensive pub grub, cheerfully and well presented. Just the place for a nourishing meal after a hike in the Peak District.

On a bleak bend of the A623, often battered by the winds, is the very friendly and welcoming 'Wanted Inn' with a comfortable lounge, well stocked bar, and somewhat cramped but 'cozy' dining room.Taken over by new 'management'; a year or so ago. and is quickly establishing a reputation for its friendly atmosphere and a tempting range of hot and cold home cooked food - such that it is usually wise to 'book your table' in advance. Dropped in (after pre booking!) on a Sunday, and our group was very impressed by the quality of the beef carvery, whilst others opted for the beef and ale pie followed, respectively by a tasty apple crumble and and ice cream sundae.Nothing fancy, but beautifully home cooked, good sized portions with attentive staff providing a very memorable lunch time break.

We've called before in the winter snow for coffee and and a quick warm, but today I took my mum for a sunday roast on mothers day, we were given such a warm and friendly welcome and although they have a dining room we asked if we could eat next to the real fire in the bar which was no problem. The pub is so lovely -but not in a chainy/gastropub/perfect way - it is small but still has local produce for sale, eggs, olive oils, local handmade chocolates all sorts of interestingness's the food was lovely - real and homemade and lots of local beers available to go with it... we'll definitely be back again :) thankyou for the friendlyness and old fashioned localness Xx

We have used this cafe in the past and had good coffee and friendly service. We were in Buxton on Monday and went for a coffee, but it seemed to be closed, so not sure whether they close on Monday or it hasn't opened since lockdown.

I used the hope chest deli for my 30th birthday where I had hired a house nearby. The Deli catered an afternoon tea for 22 people with multiple dietary requirements. The order was ready to collect on time and they provided all the platters which I was able to return the next day. Would throughly recommend!
