We always make a point of visiting this pub when in Keswick. Normally, it's a good choice of ales and the food is brilliant. This time, I had the Cumberland sausage with Mash, and the gravy was awesome.

Decent beers. Wainwright theme a bit over the top and manufactured for me.

My wife and I dined and had drinks recently in The Wainwright. To say we were impressed is an understatement, the meals were delicious, with generous portions and the Real Ale superb. On every visit to Keswick this is where we will be heading.. almost forgot to mention, very good polite staff too. Cheers, we'll be back.

Good little pub in a nice part of the lake district. Food was tasty and priced well. Friendly atmosphere and good service.

Went in this pub as the reviews were brilliant machine coffee was awful. Bar man was not friendly at all which is the reason we chose to leave and not eat as we had planned to for my birthday.

Great real ale pub justifies its place in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Must visit if you like your beer. Comfortable and welcoming. Ic and Flic love it. Best real ale selection in Keswick. Super food.

Such a lovely little pub, great selection of drinks. Atmosphere was very comfortable. Extra points for the Doctor Who quote, many respect for anyone that does that!

This is a spacious pub with a front and back room. It's comfortable and warm in winter so worth a visit. Plenty of walking information and videos showing in the back area in honour of Wainwright. The front room is brighter and looks onto the street. Worth a visit.

Nice place, dog friendly. Staff were a bit rude about me ordering a chip butty….. which was all unnecessarily confusing. I ordered it, then I was told they can’t do a chip butty, so I asked if they have bread and chips, then I was told I couldn’t order them together, so I just ordered chips, then someone came over and said I could order a bread roll to go with it, but by then I was fed up and said no thanks. Chips were homemade and very good, service needs work.

£5-60 pint of stout Expensive won't see me again.

We didn't try the food. Just popped in for a drink. Good selection of wine and beers. Friendly staff!

Front room very cafe like, back room more like a bar but needs reconfiguring as table with 4 chairs is directly in front of fire, it get very hot, still has a nice atmosphere though

Went in here with my wife and 2 dogs after walking up scafel pike! I’m very fussy when it comes to eating out but I have to say the pub food here was decent! And the atmosphere was great!

If I could give this place more than t stars I would. Came in for a light lunch, had the sloppy Joe with chips and it was amazing! Prices were reasonable as well. Will definitely be coming back!

Best pub ever!!!! You will meet the whole life’s worth of dogs in here. Perfect for dog lovers. Food was so good! The steak was cooked for medium rare and it delivered! The chips were made freshly, so creamy. Huge cod, thinly wrapped in batter. Tried the local gin from Grasmere, so good! Nothing like bombay or hendricks - which taste a bit too alcoholic for me. That was smooth! Highly recommend.

Had a nice beer, dog friendly. So I had another. That went down a treat in the nice environment. So I had another to make sure. Took 7 beers to make sure, but it's definitely a lovely place to be!

If you want Cask Ale in Keswick this is the place to visit. 8 casks & plenty of other beers, ciders etc. Lovely rustic interior. Friendly attentive service.

Nice little rest and a pint, unfortunately the kitchen was closed for a couple of hours so can't say about the food.

We called in for a light lunch and it was delicious. We opted for the soup of the day which was Minestrone. This very tasty soup was served with a mini loaf of onion bread. Excellent combination. We'll be back next time we are in Keswick. Can highly recommend. BTW the food other diners had ordered looked tasty too. 😊

Great food, great service, great pie! Only issue is that the board outside the pub states it serves food 'til 9. But I saw a family being turned away at 8.45. The board really needs amending to clarify this.

Fabulous food, enormous and gorgeous fish and chips. Beautiful local stout. Really smooth. Best mens toilet ever!!

Looks like they have smartened it up and I would consider eating here as they do gluten free food options.

The barman was very polite and friendly towards my polecat and me and my beer was very nice aswell.

I ordered beef burger with in a soft bun and home made chips just what I needed after a long walk it turned up with frozen half cooked chips and dry bun and burger... rubbish.

A couple of pints, the cask was good the lager was flat. Was quite busy , people coming and going quite a lot. May be rain dodgers.

First time here & we were pleasantly surprised. There was plenty of meat & a good selection of vegetables. The only criticism was the parsnips had been coated in black pepper which wasn't to my taste. There was also plenty of mashed & roast potatoes, plus a large Yorkshire pudding. We would return if in the area again.

My go to watering hole every time I'm in Keswick. Large range of cask ales and good food. Wish it was slightly bigger as often very busy, but nowt can be done about that.

Our favourite pub in Keswick. Always a great range of local ales on tap and usually a GF one too! As a coeliac it’s always nice to have a ‘real pint of beer’. Great pub grub (with varied GF options) and a very welcoming atmosphere!

Amazing food, great choice of ales and a super atmosphere!!! The food was really high quality and with generous servings. I recommend visiting The Wainwright Pub!!! 'Spot-on' as we say in Hull.

Another great place in Keswick for beer.

Visited during the very busy beer festival weekend but the staff were friendly and helpful and served us promptly every time. Beer and cider perfect and although we didn't eat, the food looked great. We ended up going back there again.

One of, if not the best pubs in Keswick. Great beers with three regulars and four or more ever changing ones. Food is excellent as well, though as it gets busy getting a table can be a challenge - though you can always get another great beer whilst waiting. Highly recommended.

Had a decent range of real ales, from IPAs, to stout to bitters. Wainwright beer is naturally a regular. The pub is split into two rooms with a large dining room to the right and a bigger bar area in front. Various walking prints etc on the walls and.lots of hikers in the bar. Is a proper pub and all the better for it so don't expect it to look like an IKEA showroom. Staff were all friendly and on the ball. One of the better pubs I went in.

Great pub especially on a sunny day outside to watch the world go by. Some lovely ales and a friendly welcome.

Best meal we had on our honeymoon trip around the lake district. Steak cooked to perfection, delicious home made chips and at a reasonable price too!! Also super lovely to our pup which is always appreciated :) thanks so much
