Lovely pub and friendly atmosphere, service is excellent and the food is amazing. Highly recommended if you want a great meal in a nice place!!

Visited on a Tuesday and it was closed so difficult to review. Went along the road to the Nags Head instead which was a really nice friendly pub with good selection of alcoholic beverages at very reasonable prices.

Food was fantastic and the price was very good. The staff are polite and friendly and cannot do enough for you. We will certainly be going back there.

Excellent French onion soup, there ware 6 of us lunchtime . Could not fault anything . The young Waitress was exceptional .We would definitely go there again.

Went here on Friday 15th for my work's Christmas meal. 1st time I've ever been here, and was really happy with my experience. Every course was delicious, and the food preparation and presentation was outstanding! Staff were the best, so helpful and attentive, they were some of the best I've ever experienced. Great atmosphere in the pub too. Will definitely be back 👏🏼👏🏼

Fantastic food and excellent service. Steak cooked exactly as you ask for and really tender. We have been going there for many years and they have never let us down. You won't leave here hungry. Thoroughly recommended.

I had a lovely birthday meal here today. Food and service was fantastic. But toilets need to be improved as taps in men's toilets didn't work atall, which I think is quite important these days with covid still going around.

11 of us decended on the pub for lunchtime Tuesday lunch.we were served quickly and the food was excellent.we have visited here before and recommend the friendly pub.👍👏

Good food, reasonably priced. Stopped off for lunch about 1.30pm Thursday lunchtime, we hadn't booked. The staff went off to ask the chef if it was OK to serve us. Thankfully, it was, as we were rather ravenous. There was plenty of food, I couldn't eat it all. We had Sweeky burgers, in focaccia bread, very yummy. 😋 Just a small observation, though, the two girls serving us were pleasant enough and efficient but looked a little sad. Perhaps they'd had a bad day at the office. Hopefully, that's all it was.

I'd like to thank Neil and his staff for making my stay there very enjoyable, and if I'm in your lovely village again, I'll be sure to give you a call. I will recommend the wagon and horses to anyone visiting Southwell. Be sure to visit Neil and his wonderful staff at the wagon and horses .

The medley of seafood is good value. The beer is kept well and the staff friendly

Lovely restaurant full of character. Staff very friendly. Food very tasty and well presented. Very good sized portions so much so that we couldn't manage dessert but they had that covered and did takeaway desserts for us to enjoy later. We had venison burger and wagon burger. We will be back!!!

Great food, lovely little pub, would definitely recommend anybody nearby to give it a try! I went to visit this pub with family and each of us ordered a different item from the menu, each was just as good quality and tasted like homemade food. I personally tried the venison Rogan Josh and it was made to perfection, bold and fresh flavours with tender locally sourced meat, it doesn't get better than that. Me and the wife will certainly be back, thanks team.

Mixed review, went for a family trip. 3/4 meals were delicious, hot, and well presented. On the other hand, I wouldn't recommend for vegans only 1 option, vegan lasagna. Most of the waitresses were pleasant, but it was a warm day, and it felt like they didn't want to be there. The vegan order was corrected. I'm not sure I'll be returning.

We visited late last year and had a great roast so we told our mum and said we would take her finally got around to it yesterday and it didn’t disappoint! The service was second to none, everyone was really friendly and made us feel at ease The roast, well just wow. By far the best around! We will definitely return and bring more people!

Service could not have been bettered, to the extent that at two or three points we wondered whether the waitress was actually a mind-reader, or just very observant. Food excellent, with the seafood medley being particularly good. We shall certainly be back.

Fine dining 101,as always the standards of service and food was most impressive. Meal for 4 today all the food came out at same time,well cooked,presented,had a bit of banter with the staff.. highly rated.

My parents came down from Derbyshire. We went to the Waggon & Horses for a Mother’s Day meal! We were not disappointed. What a beautiful meal! We all enjoyed our meal. A superb meal at a lovely oldie worldly pub. Staff were excellent very friendly and very nice staff. A good selection of starters, mains and deserts. A very big thank you to all of you!!!

We have recently lost both parents within a matter of weeks, to say we were not with it when booking a small wake for our Mum would be an understatement. However, both Mum and Dad had very happy memories of meals here and Scott and his team could not have been more accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble, our guests felt warmly welcomed and the food was generous and delicious. The pub itself is just gorgeous and set in a beautiful rural location. Traditional, heavily beamed, woodburner on the go, great cosy homely atmosphere. Lots of car parking too. Highly recommend!

Always lovely, attentive and friendly bar/wait staff. Food is always excellent, was not the first and definitely will not be the last time we will visit.

Our 3 meals we have experienced at the Waggon & Horses Griston have all been excellent including their Sunday lunch. Also good value with large quantities. We'll be back.

My "ladies who lunch" group enjoyed our annual Christmas outing at The Waggon and Horses the week before Christmas. As always, the service and food were excellent. Two of us had the sea bass and it was done perfectly. Scott is a great host and his staff are second to none.

Well what a gem of a place this is. Traditional Pub with Traditional Food at an excellent standard. We had been before for a Sunday Dinner and because of the quality we decided to go back. Well if you think his Sunday is quality, the standard of his main menu is amazing. Lovely warm welcome by all the ladies on shift that carries on regardless through out your dining experience. The Food is simply great, well priced and great value for money Really nice to see bottles of wine on offer at a great price range that is not bending your wallet. Overall great night out, so if your near Watton make sure you divert yourselves to Griston. You will not be disappointed A big thank you to all the Staff front and back.

Had an amazing Christmas outing to the Wagon & Horses last night. As always the food was great, staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Just brilliant, will definitely be returning.

Fantastic food, we had the vegetarian lasagna, haddock and steak. Everyone loved it. Food is absolutely delicious. The service is fantastic as well, very quick and efficient and very friendly :) we will definitely be returning!

We had the big boy wagon burger meal so good, massive portions proper tasty beef burger😋 my partner said it was the best he had ever had it Is extremely tasty quality meat. Friendly atmosphere great service friendly staff . Definitely book as it gets very booked up quick as the food is great . I booked it for my parter as it was his birthday and I didn't ask just said its for a birthday meal. They then offered to decorate the table with a birthday banner for him. i thought that was really nice of them to do that. Little touches like this mean alot thank you for doing that.

Plenty of space, old world character, easy to find with loads of parking; great food served by a welcoming, accommodating and friendly crew; we'll return.

Booked a table on probably the hottest day ever, had a lovely roast couldn't eat it all as was huge !! Staff very friendly even though they must have been struggling in the heat. Lovely little place sat outside and watched the world go by. Highly recommend, but book as clearly popular !!

Old world pub with huge portions at reasonable prices

Been here a few times now and have thoroughly enjoyed every meal I've had there. Would advise booking at weekends as it does get busy.

Lovely old country pub with a nice garden that’s dog friendly, Good pub food and friendly staff. We had scampi and chips which came with salad and coleslaw, and the chicken hunters style, all very enjoyable.

A proper pub owned and run by proper people. Staff very friendly, pub food at its best. Go take a look for yourselves I'm going back soon.

Pub appeared a little rough round the edges, but that's because it's an authentic local. The food was excellent and generous. It ranged from the best curry I've had outside an Indian restaurant, a huge tasty burger we couldn't finish between us and a sublime salmon dish. Will go again, but will skip breakfast that morning.

Nice place and service but is now expensive, nearly £200 for 4 adults and a 3 year old and we only had soft drinks with our food.

Great food, traditional and wholesome. (The portions are also huge!) The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful.

We ate at the wagon and horses for our friends birthday and i honestly cant fault the place at all ...the food was amazing, the staff were amazing and nothing was too much for them....was so good we visited the next day too and have actually booked in for my brothers 30th in a weeks time too...thanks wagon and horses you are amazing 👏

Went to the Wagon and Horses second time with a week. Last week took our daughter this week our son. Our son wanted to try venison. Where else would you go. The service was beyond excellent. All three of us had amazing dishes. I could not manage dessert. The landlord was welcoming, and talkative and made us all so welcome. Will make this our place to eat in the Breckland / Watton area.

We visit regularly and always have a wonderful time. The staff are incredibly welcoming and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and are happy. The food is of great quality and is always thoroughly enjoyed by all. Would definitely recommend.

Over priced for serlion steak. Ridiculous effort for a prawn cocktail at £7.95 . Certainly not on my list to return.

From the moment we stepped in everyone was so accommodating and friendly. The tables were cleaned every time someone left and the loos were spotless. The food was so good and there was so much of it. Spoiled for choice. When my husband mentioned that he couldn't see custard on the hot desert menu choice he was told it wasn't a problem, they would do some. When he wanted his roast sirloin well done rather than their usual medium rare, this posed no problem. Will definitely be returning. Thanks for a relaxing dining experience.

Well for me this is what a truly rural country pub should be like. Hearty, good portions I a rural cosy pub feel. Fantastic food and good service, excellent beer choice too. The food is is good quality, and plenty of it. Just what I love and look for I. A good food pub. Keeps it up and I can’t wait to visit again.

We had a family meal here on Christmas Eve this was my first time here but came highly recommend although this must have been an off day. We arrived on time one of our party however couldn’t make it so on arrival we notified the bar staff who were all miserable definitely not in the festive spirit also the chef who was rude told us we still had to pay for their as he had already cooked it who cooks all the meals before the guests have arrived as the food would be spoilt before we get it if we were running late. I would be happier to wait a bit for my food for it to be fresh cooked I am sure others would agree. Having preordered and pre booked there looked to be enough staff on but we seemed to get left with our empty plates for sometime after finishing which is never good. The food wasn’t great just mediocre pub grub. The worst bit was half of us came down very ill that night from the food which ruined Christmas day for us not good and still not great now. I will definitely not return and not recommend this establishment to anyone.

Lovely pub and and amazing food

Food was well cooked and delicious. Friendly service and great atmosphere.

It was our Granddaughters 10th birthday and we had a family lunch booked to celebrate after a local alpaca walk. The walk overran by half an hour but the pub were very understanding to hold our booking. On arrival the table had been decorated for the birthday meal. The meal and service was outstanding, enjoyed by all of us. We would love to visit again and would definitely recommend The Waggon & Horses.
