We got married here first during Covid on 2021 and again for the celebration in 2023. The venue was good, particularly with their flexibility during Covid. Unfortunately the experience was let down by their caterers. We ordered 5 Gluten Free meals which were communicated and acknowledged but on the day were not stocked for it! This proved a bit stressful on the day as these guests were severely celiac. The chef did what he could but was not great. We opted to go for the evening buffet bbq for everyone, which was only just satisfactory. The meats were clearly re-heated and quite frankly the product was not of great quality at all. The chicken looked anemic and I would hedge my bet that it was microwaved. Overall a really poor show from the catering side of things, and I hope the venue takes on this feedback as the food and service was terrible - although I don’t think they will as it’s an immediate family member who is a director of the catering company! Edit: To the venue’s response, I would like to add that it wouldn’t have got to court if they had acted in a professional manner. Unfortunately Exquisite catering ignored my complaint, so the cost of £60, to use a morning of their time to listen to my complaint in court was well worth it.

We had our wedding here on 29/02/24 and I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. The venue is stunning all year round, the staff are incredible people who made our experience seamless. The vendors are just as incredible, with amazing & quality food. Thank you to the team for their hard work in making our day perfect! Love, The Sticklands

Went for the wine tasting. The experience was pretty awful. We could not hear the host as she attempted to shout over everyone whenever speaking about the wines, then when the room was quiet, she had her back to us the entire time so we still couldn't hear. We were sat at large tables with strangers like it was a wedding, forced into making small talk with people you don't know. There was no choice about food, take it or leave it, you're having the salmon.

We have visited twice and each time had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. A wonderful and informative talk about wine followed by a tasting with unusual and delicious canapés followed by an excellent meal. A great place to wine and dine with friends and we look forward to our next visit. We must thank all involved and the helpful and friendly staff.

Lovely place to hold a wedding, staff were on hand and very helpful. Until you get to the catering staff, they were disorganised & didn’t know what they were serving. Food was absolutely appalling, I wouldn’t even give it one star. What was ordered was very different from what was delivered. BBQ food ordered with some dietary requirements. Food came out in the evening & was totally anaemia & unappetising. Basic at best. Chicken was clearly microwaved certainly hadn’t seen a BBQ. The gluten free food ordered didn’t arrive as they only supplied one meal out of several ordered (& acknowledged l) so despite having elderly people requiring this it had to go to the only diabetic & coeliac guest as being diabetic they need food. Dreadful. Despite promises of food to come it didn’t appear. Totally let the day down & guests were grateful for the later chips that arrived! Lovely place seriously let down by their in house caterers.

We booked Wickham Estate 3 years ago after getting engaged in lockdown. Throughout the whole planning stage, even when we had to postpone for a year, the team have been nothing but fantastic. We had no idea how to plan a wedding, but they helped us with tips and ideas to make the day run smooth. Now on to the wedding day.. The venue is just stunning, in pristine condition, with amazing views over the vineyard. All our guests complimented us on a perfect venue! The bridal prep room is the perfect space for you to get ready and had beautiful gardens out the back for the flower girls to play in so they didn't get bored. We bought our own decor, and the girls were nothing but amazing in helping Bridesmaids and family setting up the reception room, again giving tips on where things sit best. We were lucky enough to have the weather to marry outside alongside the vines, but the inside ceremony room is just as beautiful with large windows also overlooking the vineyard. The food was stunning, a guest commented how they'd never seen so many empty plates at a wedding! The children's menu was also good and went down a treat! To sum it up, we have nothing but good things to say about the whole experience at Wickham estate! Every one of the team are so lovely and truly excited for your day, they helped the day run seamlessly. The whole venue is spectacular, and we had the most amazing day! We want to do it every year! We recently got married at the vineyard and it was the most beautiful setting. We initially struggled to find a venue, but the Three Choirs Vineyard was definitely a hidden gem and had the cosy intimate vibe we wanted. I would also like to say a massive thank you to all of the staff, especially Grace, our co-ordinator. She was brilliant both in the lead up to the big day but also on the day itself. We didn't have a toastmaster so Grace kindly stepped in to ensure the day ran smoothly, which enabled us to stay relaxed and calm throughout so we could enjoy the day. I would also like to say another thank you to Hannah, the catering manager at Exquisite Catering as she kept in contact with myself and Grace throughout the process and the food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this venue for any event as its simply stunning and the team are fantastic!

A big thank you to the team at Three Choirs. We recently got married there (3rd time lucky due to Covid) outside in the gazebo area which was stunning. We had an absolutely amazing time! The team were great and even though there were a few restrictions in place it really felt like a normal wedding. Everyone had a fantastic time and the venue looked incredible!… One of our guests commented that it looked like we could have been in the south of France! We hired out the lower half of the house on site for the bridal party to get ready in. We'd 100% recommend doing this as it enabled us to set up the venue in the morning with more time to spare and it was also a nice escape to retreat to throughout the day to relax for 5 minutes. We’d highly recommend getting married at this beautiful venue.

Samantha has been a dream to work with in order to arrange our postponement date, letting us know all options available. They have not tried to financially benefit from the postponements or to restrict the dates we can postpone too, as I have heard many other wedding venues have. I can not recommend them enough as a wedding venue. We look forward to our new wedding date and working with Three Choirs for that much longer.

It was fascinating to learn a bit about viniculture and the way the wine is produced in such a peaceful place before moving inside to enjoy a really memorable meal. Our vegetarian tastes were accommodated in excellent style. There's no need to take the tour of the vinyard before eating, or to go to the wine-tasting. It's still a really peaceful, rural and atmospheric place to relax over a meal and a glass or two of wine. Try the Row Ash Rose, it's my favourite, but the red and white are excellent too.

Sadly our booking had been wrongly entered as just a meal, but we had ordered a Christmas menu and checked the day before, but it didn't spoil anything. The staff dealt with it. In the end, I'm actually glad as the food we had instead was delicious... more than I could finish! I didn't have the dessert as I was so full! Thank you for a lovely evening... We went as a group of 8 for my sons birthday on his recommendation having been a few times and had a very good experience, so he and his girlfriend were slightly embarrassed at the poor service and we had. To begin with we arrived on time and weren't immediately greeted even though there were only a few other customers in, maybe 14. Once seated we had to wait 45 minutes to even get a drink, no one even came to speak to us to apologise, they were obviously short staffed and working very hard but not a word. We were given 2 menus for 8 of us and no drink menu until we asked. we eventually ordered after about an hour, (we had to chuckle that the waitress had to tell us that unfortunately they were out of hens eggs so the Crispy hens egg starter was not available!) we did quietly mention that we were very dissatisfied so far with all the waiting etc.and they did give us a bottle of Cava on the house, but unfortunately things didn't improve.

On a pleasant Friday drive we called in to the Vineyard for lunch. We were going to a different location but thought we would give it a try. I should have been alerted by the dirty tables outside despite there being only 2 other customers present. We asked for our table to be cleaned and ordered our lunch. My wife ordered the salmon and crawfish tagliatelle and I the rump steak with 3 times cooked chips. My meal was described as "a larger plate meal. When they arrived my plate was large although the food on it would feed a small child. My "steak" was accompanied by fries and when I asked where my chips were the waitress said that on the menu it said fries. The steak was so thin and small in size and I can honestly say that I have had thicker bacon. Anyway like a good brit I ate up, within minutes. My wifes tagliatelle was undercooked, yes I know what al dente is but this was undercooked and so she did not eat it. When settling the bill I showed the waitress the menu and the said that if the "chef" needed any advice on how to cook chips that I would be willing to give it and that the pasta was not cooked correctly. Perhaps sarcasm isn't the best tactic but it fell on deaf ears anyway. Overall a bad experience and costly to boot. Lesson? stick to plan A and if you want a steak, chips and salad then go to Wetherspoons and enjoy it.

All of these reviews seem to be from before the vineyard changed hands - the new management, The Three Choirs, really need to buck up otherwise they'll loose customers. We had to wait half an hour to be served drinks, and this was after hailing a waitress to our table. Then our menus took ages to come - again we had to hail the waitress over. At every point in the evening we had to ask for service rather than be served. The food arrived luke warm as though it had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. A real shame.

The day went very well without any hiccups and the manager was always present to keep his staff on their toes. The food served at the wedding breakfast was excellent. The salmon starter was great, the lamb main was cooked perfectly for me, though a little pink for others. Prices for alcohol were reasonable. The only slight down side was the temperature at night did drop and it wasn't warm in the marquee. Heaters would have been a welcome addition.

Came here for the first time recently with friends who have been before. It is very much in the middle of nowhere, so you need to know about it - not somewhere you'd stumble across by accident. And quite hard to find in the dark! Inside is beautifully decorated and very swish - I was expecting something a lot more rustic, but in fact it was lovely. The couple at the table next to us did remark that it totally lacked atmosphere and they wouldn't be back, so I guess it depends on personal taste. Service was very good and we were well looked after, both by a young waitress and a lady I assumed was the manager. Even though we were there on a special voucher offer, we certainly weren't treated as such and were made to feel very special. Food was - for the most part - outstanding. It's not cheap, but you don't mind paying for this kind of quality. The fillet steak was cooked to absolute perfection and melted in the mouth. The New Forest blue cheese souffle and the venison were also amazing. The wines were obviously Three Choirs and were fantastic. Not too expensive either. The only disappointment for me was the apple and blackberry crumble. Ordered because it's my favourite dessert of all time, my expectations were very high considered what had gone before. Unfortunately what arrived were a few pieces of poached apple and a blackberry in a watery liquid, with what can only be described as a Hob Nob on top. Definitely not a crumble and I wish I'd had the cheeseboard which looked wonderful. We would definitely return, but it's very much a special occasion place and to be honest I don't think we'd bring the kids. I suspect it will be wonderful in the summer, judging by the outside tables overlooking the vines - we'll have to come back and see for ourselves.

Having supported this restaurant over the last years when it was in its infancy and the food originally was very impressive, with a maître d called Yarrick who was excellent at his job , we were sorry when it closed but pleased when it recently re-opened, We tried it on Sunday 24 August but were very disappointed with the very uninspiring meal - pretty bland (the roast beef in the past was always superb) - roast potatoes not worthy of comment - we understood that the original chef had returned but it didn't taste like it! One of us had the chocolate brownie for dessert which was very dry and bland and missing the chocolate sauce! Also, it was advertised that a complimentary bottle of wine was on offer - it turned out to be either a dry or medium white. We wanted red wine with our beef so bought a small glass of house red - at an astronomical price of £5.75!! Even so we should've been offered the bottle of complimentary wine to take with us - we forgot to ask for it ourselves. The restaurant has always lacked atmosphere and has not improved in that respect although we had high hopes when we phoned to book as the male voice on the other end of the phone sounded quite charming. We will not be returning.

Fortunately it has now been taken over the Three Choirs Vineyards (who also have a restaurant in Newent, Glos), and apparently it re-opened in June, 2014. We visited again on Saturday 10th August, 2014, and had a wonderful meal. Our starters consisted of Scallops with Chorizo and delicious tiny cubes of apple, Pan fried red mullet on a bed of spicy lentils with a watermelon sauce, and a twice baked blue cheese soufflé. The mains we chose were Parmesan and herb gnocchi, with Summer vegetables (asparagus, tiny carrots, spinach, green beans, broad beans etc) with a balsamic reduction, Pan fried fillet of sea trout with crushed new potatoes and vegetables, a fillet steak and Cannon of Lamb with a croquette made from shredded braised neck of lamb meat. Our chosen desserts were Crème Brulee with homemade shortbread, and lemon cheesecake with thyme scented peach and blood orange icecream. Every single morsel of food was a delight, and was served by pleasant, friendly staff. The chef who was there originally has returned, and is obviously someone who thoroughly enjoys what he does. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. It deserves to be supported by local people, and I sincerely hope it will go from strength to strength.

We started the evening with some Wickham vineyard Champagne which was excellent. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious for every course, well done chef. The service staff let the side down, with no real enthusiasm for the wines or food - and they need to be more professional and personable. Its a great venue and would be very good for a small corporate get-together or private party

We just visited The Vineyard Restaurant and were very disappointed with the lack of engagement from the service staff ( no Maître D on a Saturday!!). When we ordered the wine we queried where it came from and the response from one of the waitress was that it was from their 'assisted vineyard in France'. We then asked the other member of staff 'where's in France?', her response was ' the south of France' and she could not refine her answer or offer to find out. Good food. What a shame the service lets down the food! No personal engagement.

We took friends the other night for our Golden wedding. The once rather elegant dining room has been given a makeover and was cold so we had to sit in our jackets. The Maitre D has gone, there was no welcome, no one came to see if the food was alright and we left without any acknowledgement. Only one person was serving a rather empty restaurant. It took a long time for our orders to be taken. The food was excellent as usual but was let down by a lack of ambiance.A great shame - I gather it is up for sale

Visited with friends and family and all 5 of our meals were fantastic. Highlights included the cheese soufflé starter, a sublime guinea fowl breast and thigh topped off with a fab strawberry soufflé with clotted cream ice cream. We visited when it used to be Vatika and the food is of a similar quality and standard. Tasting menu available for £60 but we opted for 3 courses at £35 which was good value for the quality and presentation of the food. Top off your meal with locally produced English wine and you won't be disappointed. Will be back. Also see reviews under Wickham Vineyard restaurant.

A Friday night dinner with friends for a small celebration turned out to be a very pleasant and enjoyable evening, thanks to the good service and the extremely good food.We had visited the “location” before when it was called “Vatica” and its predecessor, before its demise! As the premises and location were so appealing we thought that we would give it a try.The menu had a pleasant and varied selection of 4 different items from each 3 course. Two courses at £27.95 Three at £34.94. These prices included bread and an enjoyable appetiser! The wine list was good, with a reasonable selection of “non own wines” at quite good prices. As one would expect, from a Chef of this calibre, the food was very good and nicely presented.Of particular note were the starters; “Nanny Williams Cheese Soufflé “and the “Pan seared scallops with confit pork belly and cauliflower puree”. The Lamb and Duck for mains were to be recommended. The service pleasant and efficient with no fuss.As this is a lovely location with pleasant decoration and good food, one hope that this business will continue, unlike previous attempts at this location. We wish them the best of luck , we shall return! To avoid confusion; “The Vineyard Restaurant” is at the Wickham Vineyard, a little confusing as when searching on line to book we found a number of “Vineyard restaurants” some in the local area! The website is WWW. Wickhamvineyard.co.uk not the “Vineyard Restaurant”

We went to eat with 5 of my colleagues for diner. The setting in the Middle of the vineyard is truly magical. As for the food, I couldn't get better in a Michelin star restaurant! This was really a surprise as we found this restaurant by chance and we will definitely go back for lunch too. The menu is also reasonably priced for the quality of food and cooking served. Well done... At last a star restaurant in Hampshire!

We visited The Vineyard Restaurant for a special occasion and started with a glass of the Vineyards champagne, then chose to have 3 courses, all complimented by a different wine recommended by the Maitre D.The food was of exceptional standard not only visually but with wonderful flavours - the chefs are very accomplished. The ambience was good and there is a good view of the vines which are floodlit at night. I am looking forward to going for sunday lunch.

Being my first visit to this restaurant, I was excited about visiting as I had heard very good things and I was certainly not disappointed! We felt incredibly accommodated and made welcome by the Maitre D and the waiting staff, and we felt that they attended to our every need. The food certainly exceeded its reputation! We had the 7 course taster menu, which was fantastic value for money. The amuse-bouche of tomato essence and basil oil was fresh and mouthwatering. The summer vegetable salad with Earl Grey Buttermilk and truffles had an incredible variety of flavours, all of which complemented each other perfectly. My starter of Crab Ravioli with a Lobster bisque and lemongrass was light and cooked perfectly. My highlight of the meal was the lamb main course, with an intense mix of slow cooked shoulder croquette and best end of lamb was surprisingly light but an outstanding world of flavours. The pre dessert was a gorgeous cocoa nib creme brule, and the lemon tart was deliciously zingy and the sweet blackcurrant sorbet a perfect combination. Our wines perfectly complimented the meal, we had a wonderful experience, and we rolled out of the restaurant satiated and raring to come back! Don't miss this restaurant...!

We went here for Sunday lunch and the food was fabulous. Three courses were only £17.95 which I thought was excellent value. My souffle starter was sublime and my lemon dessert was outstanding, the roast beef I had for my main course was also very good. The restaurant is lovely and our waiter (Portuguese I gather) was quietly efficient. This has to be the best bet for Sunday lunch for miles around and the view of the Vineyard is very pretty.

We were familiar with this restaurant in it's previous guise (Vatica) and heard that it had re-opened under a new name, so could resist trying it. And were we pleased we did. Absolutely top class food from a very accomplished chef, and for a very reasonable fixed price of £35 per head for a 3 course meal. The premises is pretty much as it was, with great views of the vineyard.Between us we had a good spread of dish choices (from a menu where we agreed we could have chosen all of it), and the scallop starter and duck main courses coming out as close winners. But all the dishes were as good as we have had anywhere - superb food. Service was perhaps a little "stiff" and formal but the restaurant has only been open for 5 weeks and we are sure will improve even further.Could not recommend highly enough

As very regular visitors to Vatika, the previous restaurant on this site which closed in 2011, we were pleased to hear that Wickham Vineyard had plans to open a new restaurant on the premises, focusing on local produce and showcasing both their own wines and those of their French sister vineyard. The Vineyard Restaurant opened on a low-key basis in April and I think they're currrently bedding in the new team before ramping up the publicity. We went on a Friday night and there were 3 other couples there, all very happy with their meal as far as we could tell - but that's why I've only put Average for Atmosphere - hope to be able to raise this score when we next visit and it's a bit more lively. The service was friendly and efficient with a good balance of attentiveness to hanging back to let us enjoy our food. The food was also very good - as one would hope with the Head Chef hailing from the kitchen of Le Manoir and his sous having trained at JSW. The quality of the ingredients was excellent - fresh and tasty and very attractive on the plate, and we look forward to seeing how the flavours on offer deepen as the chefs develop their own signature styles. A definite high point of the meal was my dessert, the custard panna cotta with rhubarb mousse, rhubarb and custard ice cream - both playful (order it and see what I mean!) and delicious.Good value as well with a 3-course dinner for two costing £70 (we spent another £30 on wine between us - they have a good selection of wines by the glass & bottle). So if you like good quality food and service without a stuffy 'fine dining' vibe then I definitely recommend checking out the Vineyard - I'm already looking forward to our next visit.http://www.wickhamvineyard.com/www.wickhamvineyard.coms/info.php?p=4
