The Vault in Banbridge

Where to start? I rang last minute late Saturday afternoon looking a table and was fitted in. Ordered the Hawaiian-esque Honolulu with salad in the centre of the pizza (honey mustard rocket with pine nuts and Parmesan), and, disappointed on hearing tiramisu was off the dessert menu, was delighted with affogato which was its worthy replacement. The VAULT’S THIN BASE IS UNRIVALLED within ten miles of Banbridge; I’ve tried them all and the Vault is the best. The service is such a happy bunch; look out for head supervisor Marty’s whistling to the soft 80s/90s easy listening music overhead.

27 of us attended the vault on a Saturday evening! We had sent in a pre order so everything was more organised. The staff took the time to take a drink order from everyone, even though we all came in at different times. The staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was all lovely and served promptly! Couldn't fault it for large groups, will definitely keep it in mind for the next event!

Disappointed! We have been many times before but tonight was very disappointing. Food was great but the service was actually poor! We had to ask for an ice bucket after the waitress just set the wine bottle on the table. The pizzas have become extremely small! 7ins!! It’s like a starter size🥲 We were not even offered further drinks. We did ask but we were told we would have 15/20 minutes to drink as the table was needed at 5.30!! The restaurant was nearly empty & had 4 tables with diners at this stage! We decided to leave immediately. Needless to say we will not be hurrying back!

Lovely meal , amazing cocktails, great service, loved the deco and atmosphere, starters were great too defiantly worth a visit

We went on 04/09/21, the food and service was so good. They were so accommodating and friendly. It was my partners daughters birthday 🎁, we brought a cake and they had no issues, gave us the cake when asked and all sang Happy birthday. I have to say all the kids cleared their plates and absolutely loved it. I would definitely come back.

Pizzas are excellent and the surroundings are excellent. Good atmosphere but minimal selection on menu a downfall. Lovely craft beers and cocktails but very overpriced for what you get

Great, staff, good food. it does exactly what you want in a good pizza place. The only downside is it is a basement so access would be a very big issue for wheelchair users or anybody with walking issues.

Pizza & cocktails were great. We didn’t have to wait on service either which was a bonus We’ll return for indoor dining as the Irish weather isn’t really suited for beer gardens! Just want to point out that the review below mentions pizza in Naples.. I’ve also had pizza in Naples and although it is the best, I really doubt you’d be disappointed by the pizza at this restaurant Fries were really tasty too.

After being away from Banbridge for 15 years and eating pizza in many countries around the World we thought we would try to support local business by giving The Vault a go. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in our choice. We last ate pizza in a restaurant on the South Coast of England where the pizzas were fantastic; made by a top chef from Naples. Their best pizzas with finest toppings were only £9 which makes me wonder how the vault can justify £12.95 for a simple Margherita that would be more at home on the freezer shelves of Tesco. The base was paper thin and toppings sparce and lacking in flavour. I had an extra topping of chilli, which cost £1.50 for what could only have been half a red chilli . The service wasn't great either. I wanted a refill for my drink but struggled to get one as the waiter was sitting down chatting to customers that were obviously friends of his. When we wanted to get our bill, our waitress was doing the same thing and I had to get up to try to find the bill myself. The desserts were good, so 2 stars, but disappointed in the VERY overpriced food and lack of professional service.

We went to The Vault for the first time since before lockdown and it was amazing we had the lasagne and it was very good the service was great and there was lots of room between tables. Thanks guys so enjoyable.

When we arrived at restaurant there were quite a few empty tables. Once we had taken our seats it took about 10 mins to have drinks order taken. Starter and main courses arrived promptly enough but waited for ages to have our plates removed after main course. We felt we were ignored by the 3 members of staff who were serving. A member of our group had to ask server to remove them and to bring jug of water which had already been ordered. Food was average but we were slightly disappointed as had heard and read many good reviews. It was overpriced. Perhaps we were just unlucky and ate there on a bad night.

We were attracted by the description of Wooden fire pizza oven. Not the real deal. Staff was friendly and efficient but the restaurant is overpriced. specially on 5 leafs of salads from a Lidl bag for £5.

Great takeaway service! The idea for make your own pizza is fantastic!! Proper restaurant quality pizza at home! Great for kids or a date night! The online ordering service worked perfectly and the experience was completely hassle free! And oh my!.... the mai tai cocktails were SUPERB!! Will definitely be back after lockdown!!

Spur of the moment decision to go here - the place had a really good feel to it albeit a little quiet being a sunday afternoon. Food & service were excellent. We will be back.

Enjoyed a family dinner here on a Sunday. Service was very good. Catered very well for our daughter's egg allergy and were very attentive regarding it - a welcome change from experiences in other restaurants. This place is at basement level so from outside you could blink and miss it. I had heard about it from a friend and checked out the website and reviews on here. Pizzas are beautifully cooked, if I'm being honest, I could have done with a bit more cheese on mine - had a pepperoni. Dessert was very nice - had Ferrero Rocher cheesecake, not a huge portion but was enough as it was quite rich. Cappuccino was delicious! Toilet facilities were very clean and well maintained and also had a baby change area. Overall we really enjoyed the food and drinks. Lovely decor inside, not overly warm and we were sat with our backs to the glass doors that back onto the patio area. There was a heater nearby but I had to keep my scarf on during the meal. Would have scored 5 stars if the pizza toppings had been a bit more generous and if it had been a bit warmer/cosier. We would return in the warmer summer months as the outside patio area looks like it would be a great spot to enjoy some Al fresco dining.

This place has very nice waiters there is also some lovely decorations.The WiFi is ok as the restaurant is underground, the pizza is very nice and the service is great so I would recommend coming to the vault in Banbridge if you are with family etc

We had meal here a couple of Fridays ago as a wee treat. Nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly environment. Staff were attentive and welcoming throughout our visit. Food was excellent and we left satisfied. We will return again and recommend The Vault without hesitation.

This is definitely the best restaurant in Banbridge. They only do pizza but it’s gorgeous pizza with great atmosphere and fantastic drinks menu. I love the decor, food and drinks menu and friendly staff. Also great for kids!Only thing I would say is it would be great to get more veggie or even vegan options and a vegetable offered on the kids menu as no one seems to do that. But love this place.

Having visited the vault numerous times, the pizzas are always good. I normally ask for a half & half option which is never an issue. The desserts and cocktails are also a must! Had an amazing salted caramel pannacotta this time around. The only downfall of this place is that there are very limited options for non pizza lovers so might not appeal to everyone. It gets very busy at weekends so would advise booking in advance.

The pizza was nice with good range of topping options. Would have preferred if my base was more crispy or could offer a thinner base option. Garlic dip was amazing though and staff were really friendly.

What a hidden gem not a great pizza lover but the goats cheese spinach balsamic onion pizza unreal great place nice atmosphere great staff highly recommended 👍

What a lovely surprise to find a restaurant with a lovely setting in the basement of a former bank. The service was outstanding from when we arrived until we left. Staff could not have been more helpful. The food was delivered promptly from when it was ordered. all came hot and the quantity was more than adequate.

The pizzas we got were the best pizzas I've ever had. The restaurant was happy to provide gluten-free pizzas for me and my daughter (we checked about this when we rang to book a table). The house salad we got was also tasty.

I have visited here on a number of occasions and have had 5* service and food every time. I would not hesitate to return!

Very hard to find. The sign is below ground level and cannot be seen from the road so you will have to stand on the roof of the car as you drive past in order to find it!!

Really nice restaurant - loved the decor and there seemed to be a large outdoor area for the summer time. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and the food was tasty and good value - you can share a pizza and they will put different toppings on each half etc. Didn't try the cocktails but everyone else seemed to be enjoying them. Service was good too :)

Visited with my wife, 2 kids & 1 girlfriend. Not a big menu but plenty of pizza choices. We had garlic bread & sharing starter, 2 pizzas, 2 goujons & sides. Very friendly service &!food arrived quickly, was hot & delicious. Good cocktail menu, the secret garden cocktail was excellent

Pizza reminded me of Italy! The cheesecake was wonderful too. The only drawback was that the restaurant was hard to find...we had to go into a pub up the street and ask directions. Definitely needs a bigger sign but worth it!

Popped in here one evening for dinner. Was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a good value early bird. Starter and main for 10 pounds. And a good kids meal as well. The bowl of side salad is gorgeous. The only thing that I didn't like was the garlic bread with cheese. It tasted fine, but when you are having pizza for main it just ends up being like 2 pizzas as their garlic bread is pizza bread with garlic and cheese.

Really beautiful Italian restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. Good selection of food and pizza is delicious. The staff are helpful and welcoming and I will definitely be back!

One of our favourite restaurants, The Vault never disappoint. My fiancé and I had dinner here last night and have been here a number of times previously. We had the Mediterranean platter to share first which we love, only slight criticism I would have is there was no balsamic vinegar to have with the olive oil and breads, but the taste of everything else was sensational. We both had a pizza for our mains I made my own with pulled pork and caramelized onion and I loved every mouthful, it tastes like proper pizza should and not doughy. For dessert we shared the mint aero cheesecake which is hands down the best cheesecake out!! I would love the recipe! As for drinks they have my fiance's favourite beavertown beer and I had the strawberry and basil mocktail which was so good I had 2. The service is always good, headed by a mature man and woman (I didn't catch their names) they are always attentive without being over bearing.. will be back again soon..

Exactly what Banbridge needed. Something different, new, fun and great food and cocktails! I've been a few times now and have never been disappointed. A must have is the dragon bread. So. Good!

Always enjoy a meal here. Focused around pizza, the menu also has other staple dishes (lasagna etc). Qualty is excellent, service likewise and value very good too. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend & I had our dinner last night here to celebrate Valentines and it was absolutely beautiful. Our server Ursula could not have been any more friendlier and the food was delicious! Gorgeous decor too. Will definitely be back.

Great pizza restaurant in Banbridge not a huge choice but fine. Only two choices for vegetarians although you can just make up your own pizza on a basic margarita base £1 for each veg topping base £9.95. I had half chilli and mozzarella and half spinach goats cheese and caramelised onion very tasty indeed.

A lovely little pizza place in banbridge. Tasty, made to order pizzas and great service. The early bird menu is great, starter and a pizza for £10, and the quality is no less than the regular priced food. Worth a visit

Crunchy bruschetta were the perfect start to family supper in December, classy pizza with great toppings and a well baked crust - hard to find stone baked pizza this good in the area. We had our child with us and the staff were very helpful. Super smooth and creamy cheesecake to finish, with a coffee to set us up for a late hour of Christmas shopping! Well worth a visit.

Been here a few times and never been disappointed. Kids love the novelty of having to go under the street to get into it and call it "the downstairs restaurant". Staff, as always, very welcoming, and food as ever excellent. Despite being a little bit on the dear side, never been disappointed with the quality, ambience, and chilled out feel to it, but if prices were reviewed downwards a tad, probably visit a lot more!!!

Although we've only been here once, we enjoyed our visit - we had good company and it was easy to relax here and feel at home.

After receiving a number of recommendations to try this place I had to try it. The menu choice is decent and there is a wide selection of drinks. I had the Icelandic beer and it was lovely

Visited The Vault on Valentine's Day along with my three children & husband. On arrival we where showed to are table brought diluted juice and water (without having to ask) and the menu. They could not have done more to accommodate us as a family on what was a busy night. Food was delicious and reasonably priced and they could not have done anything more to have made r theee children ages between 3-6 years old feel more welcome in the restaurant environment.

No doubt this is a cute pizza parlour but cuteness comes at a price sparce toppings on a crisp wood fired base (chicken topping dry on my pizza ) £40 for 3 pizzas and not very filling

Visited the area over a weekend with my husband. We ate here on two separate occasions. We both had the lunch special on our first visit which was well cooked and presented. On the Saturday evening we both had the couple special 2 dine for £25. We both had steak ordered medium but it was more like well done. However we ate and enjoyed and followed with apple tart and custard for my husband whilst I had the hot chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful and the food was tasty and good value for money

My husband, 11 yr old daughter & I visited The Vault last Friday for tea. Before we want I thought 'we'll pizza for tea ok'. However, I got more than I expected. Gorgeous surroundings, friendly & helpful staff & excellent food. Calamari starter to die for & prawn pizza with chilli kick amazing. My husband & daughter thoroughly enjoyed their meals also. The Vault was hiving & great atmosphere. Very popular at weekends so phone to reserve a table. Well be back. Oh yes & the Sacred Pink Grapefruit Gin goes down too easily

Had a team meeting and did not know about this hidden gem. If your not careful you can miss it as it's a set of stairs under a clothing store above. Pizza is freshly made and lots of unusual, different toppings. Spacious with great service....really rustic and traditional italian/modern inside...and the craft bottled beer is to die for. Great price but Defo call before and book in advance as can get very busy of a weekend.

Want wood fired pizza that beats the Italians? The Vault is place to go. I've had pizza in many European cities and New York and can hand on heart say that that this is the best of the lot. It is my home town so I may be biased, but I always barely stop to breathe from start to finish. The staff and ambiance are excellent, and it is truly great value for a night out. A special mention to Robbie and Mike who always greet me warmly and make the experience special everytime. If you are anywhere near Banbridge and feeling peckish, look no further than The Vault.

This is a fabulous restaurant with top class food and cocktails. Staff very friendly excellent choice of cocktails beers and soft drinks. Everything freshly prepared. Have to agree with Linda P the place was buzzing with a good mixture of people. Don't make the mistake I did on trying to park on the Main Street there is private parking to the rear of the building and an alternative entrance at the back.

What a great place! Apart from the atmospheric interior and music at a minimum level, the food was faultless! Pizzas had the option of "half'n'half" - my goats cheese and spinach choice and the other half pulled pork were both really tasty. The House salad with pine nuts is a hit for a side. This place was "buzzing" from families with children, romantic couples to. Hen Night to a birthday celebration! Affordable, stylish and atmospheric. Only criticism....no chunky chips/potato wedges..(well it is Italian food in Northern Ireland).

Old vault converted into this restaurant. Quirky and has character and a lovely feel to it even as you walk down the steps. Always busy and will continue to be as it serves good food, mainly lovely pizza. I go on a weekend when cooking isnt an option or to meet up with friends. Only reason its not a 5 here is the menu is a little limited, but I agree with the owners in keeping it so. Sometimes a victim of its own popularity and service can be a lottle slow but again dont let that put you off

This restaurant is small and frenetic, but the staff are superbly efficient. The food is of the highest quality in an electric historic atmosphere.An absolute must visit.Highly recommended.

Went here with two young kids and the staff couldn't have been nicer. They gave colouring in, ice cream and allowed them to the outside seating area (witch was empty) so they kids could play. We could also see out because of the big windows witch was an added bonus. We could eat and they could play. The food was brilliant and staff were very helpful with non alcoholic cocktails and gluten free pizza.

Visit on short notice 3 adults 2 kids. Excellent pizzas. If you like hot spicy try the Vesuvius. Great food and service, with clean plates all round. Sweet potato fries yum. Well worth a visit

Went here for a Halloween date with the fiancé last night and the food was amazing. The staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I had an elderflower martini and margarita cocktail and they were gorgeous - the elderflower one is my personal favourite from this and previous visits. We both really enjoyed our meal and would go back again soon! 3rd visit and each time it has been consistently good. Can't wait to visit again soon!

Had a meal out here with a large group of friends. The restaurant has a nice layout and atmosphere. We needed baby changing facilities and the young male member of staff very kindly assisted and helped.Food was good, as good as pizza is and a good selection of flavours. Great selection of drinks too.Simply done and good. Wasn't best pizza ever or most memorable but sound all the same.Overall very enjoyable and will be back.

Great night, we came to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Our waiter was excellent - I couldn't decide which pizza to order so he recommended I go for half and half. Tasty food, speedy service, reasonably priced, can't ask for any more. This was our second visit and we'll certainly be back.

Really impressed with this place I found it very modern and plush. Cocktails where outstanding and the starters but the mains where ok. The pizza selection is very good I think next time I would get a few starters. Staff very helpful and attentive.

Beautifully restored old bank building with ample parking in the back. The staff were very attentive and the cocktails were excellent. Great selection of pizza and they were delicious. The only reason I gave this review 4 stars is that I'd prefer a few more dishes not pizza related. However, in every other way this restaurant was excellent and I will be back soon.

Attentive pleasant staff. Good selection on menu. I was torn between two pizzas and the waitress kindly solved that problem by recommending half and half. Side dishes are generously proportioned. We had a lovely table looking out to their well dressed terrace area. Will return.

My wife and I had a meal [Pizzas] in the vault a couple of days ago and have to say that the Pizzas were full of flavour on a light base and the service was excellent.As this is a family friendly restaurant be prepared for Children making the usual playful sounds. Not an issue as like most restaurants you just have to book your times to suit your occasion.

4 of us went for dinner - ordered dragons tongue for starter which was basically pizza bread with a few chillis.....pizzas were fine, nothing special......beer was fine, atmosphere good, wouldn't rush back though

I visited the vault 2 weeks ago with friends on my recommendation! I had been here before and thought it was gorgeous. The service was relaxed and friendly as I remember but unfortunately the food wasn't as good. The bases didn't seem as stone baked and toppings not particularly fresh. I was also disappointed that they don't do their extra hot chilli sauce anyone. I will probably be back to give it one more try but hope it's back up to the standard it was at before as it would be a shame to see it go down hill.

Once again I was delighted with a visit to The Vault. 3 of us decided to head out last minute and turned up without booking at around 8.30pm. We were welcomed with a smile and taken to our seat, there was only a handful of people left at this time but it was close to last orders on a Wednesday. We all had lasagne with sweet potato fries and it was delicious!! As always the service was second to none.

Went here with my wife. Food was amazing and staff were all great. We enjoyed a lovely meal and the staff also had a bit of bant with you. I would recommend this place to anyone. It certainly won't be the last time we are there!!

I think the Vault pizzas are absolutely faultless. I love that you can order two different halves.The dragon bread starter is just amazing.Staff very friendly, efficient and helpful.

Went to The Vault to try the one off steak night last Friday. It was delicious. The steaks were huge and cooked to perfection on the BBQ and the peppered sauce on the side was one of the nicest I've tried. Not everyone had steaks at the table and the pizzas were as nice as ever while all the meals arrived at the table at the same time highlighting the organising that was put in to this night to ensure the pizzas and steaks complimented each other. Used to prefer going to Hillsborough for steaks but if this night was on again I'd definitely be back. Not forgetting the new drinks menu too with a wide variety of gins, cocktails and mocktails to accompany the tasty food.

We have eaten at the Vault several times now. You can guarantee the food will always be good! The staff are friendly and helpful - very refreshing to see. I recommend getting the dragon bread as a starter - so tasty!! Only thing I would like to see is a bigger selection on the cocktail menu. Other than that its a great eatery! Well done The Vault!!

Food really good but the heat in the restaurant was ridiculous. Could do with air conditioning. Other than that it was fairly good. Service is fairly good. Food good.

Such a gem, great ambience and decor! We started with some bites, bread sticks and bbq chicken wings, they were just amazing!!!! After, all of us had pizzas, since we were 10, we got the chance to try all different flavours, the goats cheese and caramelized onion, and chicken pesto where my top two favorites! The sweet potato fries are a MUST try! It was a busy night, however, all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended!!!

Had a meal early Friday evening with our grandaughter. Bread sticks went down a treat and my husband and I enjoyed the tapenade as well . We all had pizza which were very good as were the sweet potatoe fries . Grandaughter had skinny chips with her pizza and ice cream to finish . Sh enjoyed every morsel and staff were very helpful

Called in here when passing for a bite! have to say it was brilliant we were seated without a reservation and the food was really really fresh. All round good atmosphere and very friendly staff!

What a little gem! As passing through Banbridge with 3 hungry teenagers and we got lucky - there was a table available for an hour before another booking and we grabbed it, delighted we did. With the limited time, we stuck to main courses only and so sadly couldn't enjoy a more extensive meal. No matter, what we had was superb - we all had pizza, the base was both thin and light, which I prefer. There was even a gluten-free option for one daughter and it seemed no different, which is rare. The chicken pesto pizza came in for particular acclaim, and rightly so. To cap it all, the staff were wonderfully welcoming & friendly. Highly recommended.

Great meal, very large portions. Very happy all round with whole experience. Not a normal Banbridge restaurant., staff very very pleasant. Booking is recommended as it's very popular.

I have visited this Italian restaurant several times. It has a limited menu which consists of mainly Pizzas. The staff are very friendly and the ambiance is always good. Unfortunately it has got very popular which means you have to book at the weekends to be sure of a table. The food and house wine has never disappointed me.

I've never been to The Vault but have heard good things about it. The service was second to none. Exemplary service and the menu was amazing. Ronnie, the manager, and Dave, waiter, were brilliant. They were so attentive but stayed in the background. The meal was so good, with fabulous coffee and wine to go with the pizza and saw real types of fries, salad and wonderful olives and bread sticks. So worth a visit

I chose this spot for my husbands surprise birthday dinner as we have been here before and the food is amazing. All food is freshly prepared and deserts I found out are freshly made on site also :)There was 12 of us on Saturday night, service was very good, staff friendly and food came out in a timely manner.They even let us bring a cake in and provided us with plates and a knife so we could eat it in the place :)Now to the most important part, the cocktails and gin menu are very good, Banbridge has definitely needed a place like this. I had a purple rain and bramble cocktail - word of warning, they are very yummy and I couldn't taste the alcohol so you may accidentally drink too many lol. Will most definitely be back here again and again..

Really cozy place with amazing staff. The wood fired pizza oven makes delicious authentic pizza. Also if you love chilli they have a super hot ghost chilli oil that will blow your socks off x

What a contemporary venue with excellent food, wine and service!!! The Dragon Bread starter was excellent to share and the red merlot so good and served slightly warm as I had hoped for. The pizzas were delicious both the pulled pork one and the sweeter goat's cheese one. The pine nut salad was just so fresh and unique - would have loved chopped tomato added to it. The decor sets the mood to this underground restaurant - music was not overbearing but relaxing. Service was attentive. Yes fourth time - and already booked to return in a fortnight.
