usual chippy was closed so we gave these a try cost 32 pounds for 2 fish 2 chicken large chips chips at 4.50 must have been made out of 2 potatoes hardly enough to go round and fish and chicken were dry

you know that feeling when a place is good but then falls on its reputation and things slide? - not here. been using this place for years and the standard is consistently high.

Good chips, good batter - what more do you want? Decent fish and chip shop not far from the center of chesterfield...

Great chip shop, generous portions and the service is always reliable and welcoming. Good value for money too and not too expensive.

Would've been a 5* but sadly the staff let this chippy down Food is consistently good. But shame to say the staff is consistently surly. (Only one young lad seems to have cracked it) The rest... No smile, no 'hi. In fact no greeting or acknowledgment at all. Would always recommend anyone to go here. And I think the queues outside says it all

Called on way home for fish and chips in car. Small chips were huge , but wrapped up like a bag of rubbish due to some young lad who needed more training. Had 2 small cod that were already cooked and being kept warm. The cod was o.k but the batter was inedible.Slightly crispy on the outside, but spongy and soggy underneath. Never had batter like this before. Just ate the fish. Waste of money. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

Been here before and had good food however today the fish was dry and over cooked while the chips were soggy and under cooked. Disappointing

With it being a nice day we decided to walk down to The Union Jack chippy and walk back through Walton Dam. We arrived about 10 minutes before they closed and appeared to be in somewhat of a mini rush, as it seems lots of others had the same idea. We mainly opted for the mini fish and chips special with curry sauce which also came with a free sausage or fish cake.Service is always polite and friendly, the cost is very reasonable and the food is great. One of our favourite places to eat out at present.

It's a chippy. But it's a great chippy not only for traditional fish and chips and a choice of cod or haddock with a choice of size but also pies sausage and burgers and kebabs to boot. Had large cod and chips tonight and it's to be recommended. Service is excellent and speedy so don't be put off if there is a bit of a queue. Good food hot and well wrapped with a smile.

We had a long day ahead and so decided to stop by for lunch on the go.I was driving so couldn’t eat a meal of my own.My wife ordered small fish chips and curry and got a free small sausage (as it was a lunchtime special), all this for just £3.50 and the portion fed us both.Even though the dish was described as a small fish and chips, the fish was meaty and actually had more fish than a large fish from our local chippy.They have a large menu, food is fresh and would highly recommend. Will definitely keep revisiting whilst they do food of this standard and value.

After watching a bride arrive on her wedding day at St Thomas’ Church we followed the smell of frying chips to the Union Jack chippy and had trays of chips with curry sauce to walk back home with.

One of the best around and very popular. Good selection of the usual menu items well cooked and served by friendly and efficient staff. Prices ok

Have been several times, over many years. As good now as I remember it years ago. There's nearly always a queue at opening time...speaks for itself!

Happy to recommend as best in this part of Chesterfield with friendly staff. All fish seems good quality and helpings of chips probably too many.

been here many times over the years and always a treat. Freshly cooked and good standards and smells like a proper chippy. Only problem I have is that I forget how big the portions can be and always order too much - however - as the old joke goes 'save the left over chips for the next day and that's a salad'.

I am very fussy about my Cod and can only reccomend this establishment for their lovely flakey meaty white cod, and their chips are nice too 'nuff said

Short and sweet. The best fish and chip shop in Chesterfield. Pukka pies and great mini fish chips and peas at a very reasonable price.

The fish and chips were very good. Freshly cooked, good value for money, good sized portions. Quick service would recommend.

After a long day at work we couldn't be bothered to cook tea and decided to try one of the chip shops down Chatsworth Road on our way home. This was the first one that we came to with parking available directly outside so we could keep an eye on the kids.

No taste to the chips, nor the fish which was in a very sweet batter that wasn't entirely done. Give it a miss.

Called a few weeks ago on A Saturday. Had to wait for the cod but it was worth it, lovely tender cod and crispy batter also was impressed that they didn't start to bag the rest of the order until the cod was ready. Price was very reasonable. Always use this fish and chip shop wouldn't go anywhere else.

As this is my local 'chippy' I visit most weeks. The food is always good and piping hot. The food is good value and the staff are always friendly.

Reliable well cooked fish. Delicious chips. I don't buy frozen chips for my freezer any more. We freeze the left overs and oven cook another day

Probably the best and post popular of the fish and chip shops on Chatsworth Road. Excellent fresh chips, batter could be more crispy on the fish though! Not cheap, fish and chips to take away over £6!

The best chippy on Chatsworth Road. Always great food , served hot with reasonable offers . Staff always friendly. Parking can be a challenge .

Occasionally call at the takeaway and have always found it to be clean and staff friendly and all the food in the heated counter looks fresh. The fish is regularly replaced and the Yorkshire fish cakes and sausage looked lovely.

I called in early on a Friday evening for a takeaway tea of fish, chips, mushy peas and gravy (wrapped).

Visited with friend to get a takeaway. Settled on Yorkshire fishcakes. Absolutely delicious. Friendly helpful staff
