The dining room is very beautiful and the staff were warm, welcoming, friendly and efficient, without any hint of either superiority or obsequiousness. Food is exquisite and wonderfully subtle, leaving those superb tastes and flavour bursts after consumption. A most interesting amuse bouche preceded the lunching experience. Our pigeon starter was marvellous, complemented by a sharp, yet sweet jus. The halibut main was perfectly cooked and again, exhibited a subtlety of flavour which lingered on the palate. My chocolate dessert was.....sublime. My friend opted for cheese and she was very impressed by the well-kept and extremely interesting selection. Our meal was beautifully accompanied by a quite delicious Chablis which was sharp, clear and fresh.

This is a dining experience on a different level. The intimacy of the room. The welcome, the service, the food, the drinks are outstanding. The presentation, the depth of knowledge of the waiting staff, the stunning flavours sensational. out of this world. Special treat for a big birthday and a wedding anniversary.

Bluebells Restaurant & Bar

23/08/2018: Yet again, Bluebells excels with their latest summer menu. Four of us had different choices, all wonderful, and faultless. Best restaurant for miles around.
27/08/2018: It has been over 2 years since I have been here and it was good then, if anything it is even better now.

The Beehive

13/12/2018: We called in for lunch because we saw the food sign as we were driving past and couldn't have made a better choice. There was a great welcome and an interesting menu. The food I chose, the steak sandwich was terrific and the beer was as good as any I have tried for ages. This place is exactly what a pub should be. Perhaps a tad expensive, but worth every penny.
11/11/2018: Good beers, lovely staff, traditional pub and first rate landlord! Excellent good value food too. The pub hosts regular events and we were there for a big band performance by students and Royal Hollway just down the road _ excellent. We had a great evening, would highly recommend. Our dog enjoyed it too, being very dog friendly.
