So, no longer a restaurant but you can queue up in the shop and buy a takeaway and eat upstairs if you don't mind eating from takeaway containers. We were told the old set up wasn't working, it wasn't our place to point out the new set up didn't either.Bring back the restaurant.

Visiting Aberystwyth on holiday we were delighted to stumble upon this lovely restaurant offering food we really enjoy back home in Australia. Went back the next day for more. Loved the broccoli and cauliflower fritters and the garlic mushroom brochette and they do a decent coffee too. On our second visit we went up to the top floor which is quieter and shared a risotto which was also delicious. Bought some supplies in their organic shop below to take back to our accommodation.

I'm trying to be fair here and I understand the new management wants to make their mark, but don't forget the clientele that you have. The famous quiche was no longer available and all three meals we ordered were small; an Onion Tarte, a Pie and I can't remember what the other was, but it doesn't matter. I felt that the price lead one into a false sense of economy. I ordered a salad in addition to my tart (which at £6.5 initially seemed too good to be true), but that bumped up the price and I was still hungry, even after a muffin. Nice food, but the choice seems to have decreased, the whole menu now fits one side of an A4. The main gripe I have is that the wholesome, hearty and reasonably priced meals of the past are no longer and I feel that customers probably appreciated that more than having to order numerous small'gormet' meals. The quiche for example used to be a proper slab, and if you had it as a meal, it came with wedgies and fine salad, which whist remaining organic and refreshing, still filled a hole. It's probably someone's cup of tea but I like a feeding which this place no longer provides me with, regrettably. I asked the assistant there and he said they were in the process of developing the menu, so it might be worth another shot in a few months.

If you're expecting a clone cafe with a clone menu and straight lines, plastic straws and convention then yes, you'll be disappointed I'm sure, but if you prefer character, quirk, eco ethics plus fresh, healthy, colourful and imaginative options at reasonable prices over conformity and blandness then you'll enjoy it as much as we have over the years.

Enter trhough the wholefood shop and up the stairs. Iordered ploughmans , my partner quiche and salad. both meals looked just like the photos on TA. Plenty of food, nice warm bread, artisan cheese, lovely beetroot chutney, salad. Lovely home made quiche, wedges , salad(s). We booked a table here at the recommendation of a friend who lives locally as we wanted vegetarian/wholefoods with a pleasant ambience for our relatives visiting from Italy. The telephone booking was easy and we were recommended to sit on the second floor for a quieter experience. We arrived at 1.40 and were encouraged by the delicious array of foods in the ground floor shop which we passed through to get to the restaurant. There was soup and another item on the specials board where we were seated so we looked through the menu and selected quiche, a chicken burger and a vegeburger. The menu inside a laminated cover was typed on unglazed paper and was rather grubby and stained by being leafed through by many fingers.

For £40 five people can get properly fed on some quite tasty dishes. The "large" bowls of soup REALLY are large and well worth "up-grading" to. You may not want anything to go with it though. I tried to soups and they both had a great flavour. Burgers are great and seem to contain beetroot! The specials board is definitely worth exploring too. I only have ONE COMPLAINT - why still stock the animal products? It does nothing for the image of Treehouse, is off-putting, can lead to confusion and looks very out of place against the delicious animal-free meals.

We visited after having a shopping day in Aberystwyth. I was with my husband and three teenage children. We had cappuccinos, hot chocolate, chai latte, banana smoothie, 2 x rocky road, 1 x chocolate brownie (very scrumptious according to daughter), 1 x cherry chocolate cake (not enough cherries according to hubby, 1 x Apple & Maple Pecan cake (yummy). The whole lot came to just over £25. 1 of the kids liked his rocky road and the other who isn't normally fussy didn't - I think he found it too rich for his tastebuds! I thought it was a great café, friendly attentive staff, relaxing and a great range of food & cakes to choose from. If I am ever visiting Aberystwyth again I would definitely go back.

I hate leaving negative reviews, ( in fact I never have before) I especially hate leaving it for treehouse which has always one of my favourite cafe/restaurants ever as you will see from my previous reviews. Sadly yesterday's visit was so poor we were unable to actually eat the food. The vege burger buns, which were obviously intended to be delicious Wholemeal rolls were so hard we could neither bite them nor cut them with a knife. The beetroot based burger has a very sloppy consistency. The latte was so strong we couldn't drink it and reluctantly we left the whole meal untouched bar for the wounds we inflicted on it trying to bite through it. One Final thing, on our arrival the two staff were so busy debating a mixed up order we stood Unacknowledged for five minutes ( not the end of the world ). But I know treehouse does better food and better service than this . Sorry for the negative review guys but I know how great you really can be, please pick up your game as next time we come we really hope you will be back to the great treehouse we are used too.

We ventured here today for a spot of lunch after our excursion on the Rheidol Steam Railway. There was lots to choose from on the menu and a variety of diets were catered for (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc.). We opted for a Welsh Ploughmans and an Organic Chicken Burger meal. The Ploughmans came with a variety of cheeses, quails eggs, a bread roll, crackers, salad and chutney. My husband loved it and enjoyed sampling everything on his plate. My chicken burger was delicious - home made, juicy and herby. It was accompanied by potato wedges and a variety of interesting and tasty salads. I also had a hot fruit punch (apple and elderflower) which was another delight. We didn't have any, but there was a wide selection of cakes that looked good too. I'd definitely recommend this place as the food was really scrummy.

A family visit to Aberystwyth isn't complete without lunch at the Treehouse. We've visited a number of times over the years and never been disappointed. It's a small space up some steep stairs and the eating area can get a bit cramped when it's busy but we had plenty of space and service was prompt; even so, it's a small price to pay for a mouthwatering menu and lovely ambience. We each had something different - cheese ploughman's, quiche, veggie burger and soup. The burger and soup were accompanied by a homemade wholemeal roll; the soup was supposed to be 'small' but when it arrived it filled a generously sized bowl to the brim! The burger fell apart and had to be eaten with a fork but the texture and flavour were still great. The accompanying salads contained a variety of ingredients and there was just enough of their dressing not to drown or dominate the flavour (I'm not normally a fan of dressing or soggy 'drizzle') while the Stilton cheese in the Ploughman's was tangy yet not overly strong. The homemade quiche slice was sizeable and the mixture was fluffy and light. They try to source local and/or organic ingredients. A good number of the options are offered as either snack (light) or mains. The wholefood grocer's shop on the ground floor is delightful and great alternative to supermarkets for interesting and distinctive foods.

All good, but can't understand why the Easter decorations were still up in October, albeit far preferable to the usual Halloween rubbish that plagues so many places for no good reason. Staff - a bit detached. Lot of preachy environmental campaigning organic stuff plastered around but not offensive. Fantastic Rocky Road chocolate cake but offset by the worst carrot cake ever - it had a nice taste but the texture of pure solid car tyre, totally unrisen gel, I should have sent it back really, but had paid already and didn't want to make a fuss, not sure how they had the nerve to put the stuff on sale. Organic is not a reason for undercooked rejects to be acceptable. The hot chocolate was delicious, but not hot enough.

I'm of a generation that 'restaurant' meant something only for the upper classes. In the meantime any place to eat now has this nomenclature. I'm told that upstairs at Treehouse is very worthy to be described as a restaurant even, so I am told, it doesn't open in the evenings. My wife and I only visited the shop and without doubt it it had a very comprehensive range of vegetables, fruit and other healthy products including meat and fish. I've eaten in restaurants all around the UK and I can say after coming here dozens of times this organic cafe has the best salads you will probably ever taste. Curry spiced vegetables, sweet beetroot, leaves with lovely dressings (I can't figure out what they are but they're like none I've had anywhere else), toasted seeds, shredded carrot, chopped fruit pieces, cabbage and edible flowers are some of the things that you might find in your salad. There are many more elements and it changes each time you go so you never know what you'll get. This place has a certain magic about it. One of my pet peeves about restaurants is they don't give enough vegetables so I have to hand it to whoever is running things in the kitchen here, they definitely don't skimp on the veg. As someone who cooks at home and owns many cookbooks it's amazing to be able to eat somewhere that has flavours I don't recognise. I would say for food lovers this place is a must visit. Also the staff are the best of anywhere I've ever been for accomodating special diets. They don't mind at all asking the chefs if there is something in the food and advising you on what to have.

Eaten here before and it is truly delicious. I arrived near lunch time and there was not a table to be had. It is so worth the wait that I went for a long walk bypassing many other restaurants and then went back later. I wasn't disappointed ! The only problem you will have here is making a selection from the truly mouthwatering variety of foods on offer. I shouldn't really tell you about it , or it will get even harder to get a table :-). Great wholefoods shop downstairs that sells some gorgeous foods.

We wanted to try The Treehouse as it was showcased as part of the Observer food awards. As we had a dog we thought we might have to give it a miss but the really friendly staff agreed to reserve the one outdoor table they have. Even though we were the only diners outside we had a lovely time. The staff made sure we felt welcomed. And having a dog meant we weren't short of friendly locals wanting a chat and a pet. But what amazing food too. Largely veggie with a meat option, we went for a polenta dish and a cheese potato cake. Both were far more exciting than my brief review gives credit for. Decent sixed portions and cafe prices for what I thought was upmarket food. We didn't do cakes but the coffee was good. And I even bought some good produce from the shop. Definitely worth making an effort to come here if you are visitors like us. Hopefully the locals don't need any persuasion.

Excellent vegan food. Good size portions. Friendly service. Free WiFi. Been here several times and have never been disappointed. Mushroom Wellington is yummy as is their vegan burger. Get there early as the daily specials can be all gone.

This café has some very good organic food to choose from, I had the carrot and coriander soup with a delicious bread roll and butter on this occasion. They also have a shop which stocks a wide range of food.

One of my favourite eating places and I just love the spinach and fetta cheese quiche with potato wedges and the mixed salads which give a real burst of organic flavours. It's always busy at lunch time but worth waiting for a table. The shop downstairs sells wonderful produce including the quiche and salad mixes.

This is a fully organic restaurant above a shop with the same concept. There are naturally lots of vegetarian and vegan choices available and for a change a limited choice for meat eaters. We ordered a varied choice off the menu which is a very fluid one as things were changing whilst we were there when things were being sold out although an alternative was always added in those case. The food was of an excellent quality and well presented – we had beef Bourguignon with risotto, Tortilla, Dhal to name a few and no complaints from any of our party of six.

Treehouse always offers a wide range of excellent dishes, desserts and drinks. I love their pastries for quick take away! Keep coming back, one of favourite places in Aberystwyth!

Great, tasty, home-made, organic food. The salads which come with the quiches are amazing. Very homey and relaxing atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone who would like a healthy, hearty lunch. One of my favourite places to eat in Aber! The organic shop downstairs is very good and and so is Tree House 2 which is across the road which sells organic, natural skin care and a few items of clothing.Great place and decent prices!

Lovely food freshly cooked. You need to be fit enough to climb the stairs, as the tables are all above the shop on different levels. Busy at lunch time, nice atmosphere. Wide choice of menu with a specials board.

Been coming here for a good few years now - to eat and to shop. Been vegetarian all my life and this place is a god send for me. Love the food, the relaxing atmosphere and its the only place I can buy 'Vitam R' from locally (the big sized pot too!)

Used to lunch here at least once a week when my husband and I worked in Aberystwyth ( about 5 years ago) and it was excellent! Went with a friend recently and was disappointed. I ordered humous which was on the menu but was told they may not have it because they don't make it every day! However I was in luck because they had a portion left! My jacket potato seemed reheated...yellow and soggy. The stainless steel teapot my tea came in was filthy around the spout and the chair backs were really grubby. What a shame that this previously excellent restaurant seems to have become complacent due to lack of other organic restaurants in Aberystwyth

This vegetarian restaurant/wholefood shop is situated close to the town centre. There is a wholefood shop on the ground floor and the restaurant/café is on the upper floor. As with many specialist shops, food and drinks seem to be above average in price.

Popped in for unplanned lunch. There early so few tables available. Veg moussaka on specials but note to say 'not ready'. Waitress said 10-15 mins so that was fine. Had this before so was pleased it was available. Really tasty with nice side salad mix and dressing. Friend had chicken burger which also delicious. It can be busy but that reflects surely how good it is and popular. It is quirky especially with the addition of 'trees' growing out of tables! Not sure about those? Organic and alternative but don't be put off by basic look and feel. I choose to return time and time again.

Looks great from the outside and showed promise, but...Witnessed staff taking filthy outside bins to the council collection vehicle, resting the bins on their apron, and then immediately serving inside.Change and receipts thrown on the counter. Unpleasant attitude. For an organic institution a step up change is clearly needed.

Really good, wholesome food. It's always quite busy which shows that it's good, but the only slight down side is occasionally they've sold out of things because of this. A highlight is the veggie burger!

We had read recommendations about this offering good vegetarian food and they didn't disappoint. They offered several vegetarian options, some vegan, some gluten free and even a couple of meat options. My hubby had the BLT which was a triple layered sandwich with wedges and salad and I had the Welsh plough as. Both were delicious and I was a little disappointed they weren't also open for dinners as after seeing some of the options other dinners had - I would've have happily returned that night. Unfortunately it was our last night in Aberyswyth so we didn't get back.

I visited the Treehouse yesterday with my husband after friends recommended it (we live 50mins away) and we weren't disappointed. We had the Mushroom Wellington with red wine gravy and vegetables, it was very reasonably priced and delicious. As you do on trip advisor, I did check on here first and read the bad reviews and can honestly say our experience couldn't have been further from those few write ups. I can't wait to visit again and try their veggie burgers and wedges, all the food coming out of that funky kitchen looked amazing.

Irie's Cocktail Lounge & Caribbean Restaurantlocation-iconNorthgate StreetOther international cuisines

Adoro Irie's.

Absolutely delicious authentic Caribbean food. Curried goat, omg so tasty Jerk chicken, out of this world. Rice and peas, best I’ve tasted. Corn fritters, beautiful. Jerk pork, so tender and tasty. Jerk and buffalo dipping sauce just amazing. Service was very quick and the waiter so polite. Just a perfect meal in lovely surroundings with a great background of reggae music. Only one suggestion, for better value maybe some chicken wings on the taste of Jamaica platter would be good.

Best bar in New quay Wales. Absolutely fabulous place, and the best bar in Newquay, sorry Sea horse 😊😊 Fabulous, friendly amazing staff, amazing choice of drinks, decor to die for, very classy bar, always busy, and great vibes, that says it all. Had a great evening in New year's eve, travelled 130 miles to spend new years eve there. I actually clocked the incident with customers and staff in regards to the Trip adviser, review titled "VERY VERY POOR AND SAD", dated 31/12/23 Unfortunately that appears to have been done by troublemakers who clearly visited the bar, looking for trouble, and had no interest apart from causing an atmosphere, as was NYE. As an off duty police officer was surprised they were not asked to leave as they conduct was appauling, and glad they were refused entry to the other bar, as clearly went there to cause issues also. Sad sad people.
