This hotel needs some attention but the beds were spotless, the service was brilliant and the food was perfect!

Dropped in for lunch. We were given a great table by a seaview window. Superb choice of dishes, showing imagination and flair on the part of the chef. Everything freshly cooked. Good portions. Service discreet yet attentive, from the very agreeable staff. We much enjoyed our meal and left a sizeable tip. One small comment: on sunny days it is very warm in the window seats and an open window would have been welcome. We should have asked.

We frequently visit the amazing Busy Bee Garden Centre and especially this time of year when the magical Christmas World is on. I would say the best display in the country. When inside we always pay a visit to one of the islands best eateries. Had the afternoon tea special, great value. Nice selection of sandwiches, cakes and scone plus a free tea top up Excellent value. Also we frequently visit on a Sunday afternoon for delicious Roast Dinners. For quality, value and service you won't get better than The Olive Tree in Busy Bee, Ryde. 5 Star ☆☆☆☆☆

Delightful evening with superb food and friendly service. I booked the round table for 6 people in the window for a special evening with friends. The Aquitania came up trumps - yes, it’s a limited menu but, if everything is fresh, locally sourced and expertly cooked, I don’t have a problem with that. Our waitress, Gaby, was charming and, having originally come from Brooklyn before settling on the island, knows all about good service. I chose the scallops, lamb and finished with cheese. I asked for the soft cheese to be removed from the fridge in good time, which it was. Gaby offered more (homemade) biscuits without being asked. My friends all opted for the desserts, which looked amazing - one was a mini flower pot made out of chocolate and decorated with edible flowers. The portions aren’t huge, but everyone declared their meal to be delicious. This is not a gastro pub with extensive sea views but, if you’re looking for exquisite food and efficient but friendly table service, I highly recommend it.

Tiffins Of Coweslocation-icon127 High StBritish

Terribly rude service the other day when I simply asked if the baguettes were vegan. The server told me that he had no idea, nobody in the cafe knew but it ‘probably’ was because bread doesn’t contain fats anyway (although it is common to get milk powder in white bread). The conversation ended with the server telling me he wasn’t going to go to the kitchen and check because it was too far away. I see this as quite a serious issue as the sign in the restaurant clearly states ‘please speak to a member of staff if you have any dietary requirements’. I was not taken seriously and was advised to buy the bread which could have been catastrophic to anyone with a milk allergy. I advise no one with any kind of allergy or dietary requirements to go here because it is just not clear what is in the food and the staff obviously don’t see it as an important matter.
