The Torrance Inn in East Dunbartonshire

Not been for a while, decided to book for Sunday dinner with my parents. Usual warm welcome, we were seated straight away & drink order taken. My mum can't eat big portions so was offered the children's menu (which the server told us wasn't a huge portion). Three of us had starters, I cannot resist the pate, my husband & dad both opted for the soup. Mains husband & dad ordered the steak pie, mum ordered the kids steak pie & I ordered the lasagna which I love. Mum's portion was actually really big & perfect. We all absolutely loved our mains, not faults at all. Dessert, I'm not a massive fan, but the men had their eye on the apple pie, mum ordered the pancakes & I opted for some ice-cream. Everything again 10/10. The bill worked out about £25pp which for a 3 course meal with drinks was really good. Especially when it is homemade food. Highly recommend a visit here, but remember to book in advance.

Been here a good few times over the years and applaud the gradual shift in emphasis from drink to food such that the ambience is more restaurant than pub. The food is reliably tasty...TT ate the Special Salad as usual and the plate was a fine array of fish ( good size piece of poached salmon, some roll mop herring, and prawns in Marie Rose ) with the very good selection of Salad and fruits alongside. It is tasty. The Guinness is sadly the very cold kind ( as it is amost everywhere else to be fair ). The problem with Torrance is that it has 3 pubs and a bowling club and there isn't the overall footfall to allow any of them to get really smart and a cut above the others ..its why I have marked a 4 blobs rather than a 5 as I feel the decor is getting a bit tired and eg the toilets could use modernisation. But it is still TT's choice in Torrance and deserves support. Pics are the ( already a bit eaten..ha ha..) Special Salad and the Scampi ( it was TT Junior's pick if I recall)

Love the Torrance! Good hearty meals, wide menu choices, welcoming, friendly staff, suitable for all the family. Parking can be a pain when very busy but that's not uncommon. We'll keep coming so long as we're welcome!! Happy to recommend.

Just had a great meal out, lovely friendly staff, delicious food, nice room. Can definitely recommend the vegetarian haggis! And home made trifle!

Having recently found this place we have been very often as it is THAT good. The service is good and the food is excellent. I think I had about 5 Christmas dinners over the festive season and we have just been back again this year and I had the braised beef, again excellent. We would highly recommend the Torrance Inn as it is reasonably priced for the standard and quality of the food. We have NEVER had a bad meal here. Really and truly a very lucky find!

Always a warm welcome at the Torrance Inn. A lovely cosy, clean environment, fantastic attentive staff. Well stocked bar. Food is never disappointing. We have eaten our way through the varied menu over the years. Specials are always great too. Ingredients are always top quality, 100% fresh and cooked to perfection. Salads are a sight to behold and beautifully presented. Despite cost of living increases Elaine, Roger and family have kept prices reasonable and affordable whilst many other restaurants haven't. Torrance Inn is our go to venue for family celebrations or just having a meal. The best restaurant in the area by a country mile. Keep doing what you do! Would definitely recommend a visit to anyone that hasn't yet dined here.

The experience was superb. I had a three course meal with my church family and all the servings were done excellently. The pictures are a testament to the delicious meals we had.

Had the most amazing Turkey and stuffing burger with cranberry, tomato (minus lettuce, personal choice) and loaded fries with gravy on the side. Totally recommend.

Staff were pretty rude. Ordered "lentil" soup and when it came it was bright green we were barked at that "it is lentil!" When we asked if there was a mistake. Was a strange concoction and left sharp. Disappointing as we used to go here years ago and it was always pleasant.

Food fantastic service was a bit slow but this was because it was nearly full I would recommend the Torrance Inn but the carpark is usually full

Food is tremendous, really very very good. Never had a bad meal here or anything to complain about. Service is great too. The Sunday roast today was outstanding, roast beef with all the trimmings.... absolutely fabulous. Will be back as often as time allows us to do so. Just overall a great inn with great service and GREAT food.

They should be cutting about with balaclavas on. You can’t compete with weatherspoons. Fleecing Torrance and passing trade. You deserve to go down the tubes. 👋🍻

Staff where very friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere and the steak pie was 10-10 thumbs up.

What a great wee hidden gem, pity it's not my local ...

We had a Fab night last Fri, 15th Sept. We had travelled over from Ireland .. A big Family reunion dinner before my brothers wedding! Excellent Service.. Food was outstanding! l had the special salad with prawns.. OUTSTANDING !! It was almost too Bfl to eat! 👌We had a Fab night & being Irish the last to leave.. staff were AMAZING! Also my partner arrived outside the Torrance Inn next morning.. he had been dropped by taxi to be collected by me.. A lovely gentleman came out of the Inn & asked him if he wanted to come in & have a ☕️while he waited! A lovely touch!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a great experience at Torrance Inn. Great dinner location for the whole family in lovely surroundings. Best of all, the food was fantastic.

Great place to eat and have entertainment.Went with family for a birthday.Waiting staff were very polite and prompt with orders.Compliments to the chef and kitchen crew Food was delicious.We can highly recommend the Lentil Soup and Veg Pakora for starters.Two of our crowd had home made Steak Pie and said it was the best they had ever had.I had the Veg Lasange and would highly recommend this to vegetarians,you wont find a better one.Great portions too.Prices were very reasonable especially as food prices have sky rocketed. Many thanks to the young man who served us all night.(he was the one who had fermented fish in Iceland) No waiting for drinks when he is around.He made sure the whole pub was well served all night. It was Quiz Night on the Wednesday we were there and we had a great time with all the locals playing there.There is a warm community feeling in the Torrance Inn.Would highly recommend the Torrance Inn to everyone.

The menu choice is very good and the food is always tasty and well priced. The only downside is the front entrance, covered in weeds and cigarette ends, probably from the Friday night before. It would take less than 5 minutes to tidy this area up.

Fantastic visit to The Torrance Inn today! Our son has coeliac disease and they went above and beyond to cater to his needs. We got him a baked potato with cheese, ham and fruit. He loved it! We can’t wait to go back as the girls today were 10/10

Our first visit. great home made food and fantastic service from the staff. The stake pie the best I have had. Well worth the visit we will be back very soon.

Had the special tempura prawns with salad and it was fantastic. The batter was crisp and prawns cooked to perfection with garlic. The salad was delicious with coleslaw, strawberries, kiwi, melon and peach. So tasty.

50th Birthday celebration for 29 people was flawless from start to finish. All requests accommodated and nothing an issue. Lots of people had dined there for the first time and regretted having the three course option, because their first 2 courses were so good and plentiful. Staff tremendous. Food tremendous too.

I would rate this more if I could. Great food & and service decor is tastefully done. I had Steak pie, which was fantastic. My partner had Prawn salad, which I must say was a work of art. Highly recommend a visit here.

Very good service. Freshly prepared pub food and big portions. Known for their salads but also.lots of other fresh veg.

Lasagne was lovely but the kids cheesy pasta was tasteless beneath the topping, the sauce was basically warm milk

The Torrance Inn is the best place for meals anywhere around. Excellent food always, service is always excellent and great value for money. Having visited The Boathouse recently, which was supposed to be excellent, The Torrance Inn blows it out the water. 10/10 Well done, The Torrace Inn.

We were out with friends last night and had the most amazing salad - hot spicy chicken. It was superb and so well presented. A lovely atmosphere and very attentive friendly staff. Will definitely return to try some of their other dishes.

It reminded me of a kids meal, it was okay but just a bog standard pub meal. Suppose I was expecting something a wee bit tastier and with a little bit more on the plate for the cost.

Home cooked food and service superb 😋

It’s good plain food. Good pub grub. Good salads. Specials are repetitive. Need to have a bit of variety. We are weekly visitors but a bit fed up with the menu all be it fairly tasty - want a bit of variety with the specials - no more sausage & liver please !

Had a great lunch. I had liver and sausage in an onion gravy with three different veg it was amazing. Got to admit its been the best food I have been served in a long time when eating out. I would highly recommend dropping in to the torrence Inn. The staff are so friendly and helpful

We visited to celebrate a friends 60th. First time we have been for years. Food was good, although would not recommend spicy chicken. Its too spicy and doesn't go with potatoes. Staff were attentive to start with. We knew bar shut at 9.30 and booked taxi accordingly. However once it got to around 8.45 they backed off, no longer asking if we would like more drinks. Didn't even say thanks and goodnight as we left, felt they couldn't wait to get us out the door. Nights out are expensive now and not good customer service making customers feel uncomfortable. For that reason I will not be rushing back. It

Fantastic evening celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday, the staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble even with some last minute changes at our meal for 33. The food was of its usual high standard with everyone commenting on the quality and portion sizes, reasonable prices too. Thanks for making it a great evening!

Hi Visited today chicken goujons shop bought or different supplier they were fantastic before then they seemed to half them stop changing it things your smell was fab before lockdown prawns in nippy pool were fantastic as well bring them back Pate with toast please...
