This was a lovely place to eat with a good atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. It had a rustic decor with a stone flagged floor. It is a shame it has gone.

On a family visit, we were looking forward to visiting and trying the food, which was recommended. I looked at the menu in the morning and decided on the cheese pie, a personal favourite. However, I was really disappointed in the whole dish. I thought it was because the pastry was too short, (it was like dust in my mouth), but on mentioning it to the lady who came to take our plates, she said it hadn’t been a great success since the chef changed to gluten free.

After reading a handful of negative reviews, & not having been for a good while, was a little dubious of returning. Yes it was a lot quieter than I remember but the service was a lot quicker than past visits! The food was excellent (highly recommend the ham hock scotch egg)! The rib eye steak was cooked to perfection & the hotpot was tasty & filling. Our offspring had burgers which were huge & good quality. Got to say I think I prefer it quiet now! We will be back

Not been for a while so thought we would give it a go. It still looks the same but the quality is way down from what it once was. The basic ingredients are cheaper, the fish and chips for example, used to be twice fried chips in dripping, crunchy but fluffy inside, thick white fillets of fresh fish, you now get soggy potatoes masquerading as chips and a thin pallid grey piece of fish covered in excessive amounts of batter. Not good but the most desperate thing about the place was one male staff member who was stood behind the bar but apparently managing the place. His people skills were atrocious and he appeared to be antagonising customers rather than helping them. I nearly ended up arguing with him. The chef also came into the bar area and began to berate a waitress for some issue. You don’t do that in front of customers. No I didn’t complain, as I would have ended up having a confrontation with the manager. I just won’t go again. A sad demise for a once well run professional outfit.

A favourite for years, we have traveled miles to taste the classic dishes such as the Hot Pot. This has been consistently great every visit. So we were absolutely gutted with the meal we were served when we visited this Friday. Still keeping the same kind of menu, dish names and trading in the Ribble Valley Inns name I had no idea that anything had changed. The place was almost empty so that should have set alarm bells ringing! When the food was served it was really not up to any standard and certainly a million miles away from what we expected. The Steak and Kidney pudding was appalling, the Hot Pot a pale imitation of what we had previously. Told the Manager of our disappointment but feel our comments were just disregarded. Such a shame. We loved the 3 Fish when managed by Northcote but now it’s just a very average pub chain. Gutted that the Greatness Has Gone! ☹️

Had not been here since the sale of the business. The food was ok, we both had Sunday roasts. I noticed that the menu was smaller than before.we were sat in seats by the steps to the rear dining area and my chair was uncomfortably close to unprotected steps and it was noticeable that some of the interior decor was in a sorry state with wallpaper coming off. Shocking £4 price tag for 400ml of Diet Coke!

The meal started off great! Me and 2 friends all had starters and they were all really nice! However, the main meals wasn’t reallt hot enough and needed extra seasoning. The deserts were what really let the whole experience down. The sticky toffee pudding was over cooked and burnt on the bottom, and the waffle, wasn’t fresh and was initially sent out cold, then when I sent it back it came out over heated and wasn’t very nice, so I asked for it to be taken off the bill. Overall I would have said the meal was average, but it was the attitude of the manager which bothered me the most! After sending back my desert for the final time, the manager brought over our bill without being asked, making us feel very uncomfortable and unwanted!

Haven’t been here since it changed ownership. We were really disappointed. The hotpot wasn’t anything special and only tiny and the red cabbage tasted peculiar probably due to the addition of star anise. My mother orderEd fish chips and peas which took some time to arrive after our mains had been brought to the table. Her peas were were cold and congealed. We then ordered cheese and biscuits to share long with 2 coffees and a tea. The drinks arrived but no cheeseboard! We had to ask as they had obviously forgotten. When it arrived there were just two small discs of goats cheese and a small stick of another cheese with about 6 crackers, grapes, celery and small pieces of cake. There wasn’t a great atmosphere in the staff looked quite miserable but were reasonably pleasant. We won’t be going back.

Visited The Three Fishes on New Year’s Day with my family and we all enjoyed the pub grub with plenty of choice and variety on the menu. Service was extremely good throughout. All dishes came out hot and executed very well, all the sides included in the meals were particularly good (triple cooked chips, salads dressed, homemade tartar sauce, great accompaniments with some interesting flavours etc). Only issue from the party was that the red cabbage with the hotpot was overly strong with some spice, perhaps star anise. Great pub with good menu.

You normally expect to pay over the odds for a Christmas Day dinner but my wife and I expected a much better meal for £75 each than what we actually got. First course was pigeon breast for me - this was tough and required a lot of chewing. Second course was rack of lamb for my wife - uncooked at its centre and had to be sent back. The other selections including desert were only OK. Couldn't believe how much the place has changed since we last visited 10 years ago! Was disappointed to see menu wasn't as it used to be, seems a bit more basic now, but we were actually very pleasantly surprised when we got our food as it was delicious. We had a pate starter and the orange chutney was the nicest I've ever had. And the pork roast was very good. We were too full for dessert though we had been eyeing up the crumble. The only thing we didn't much like was the area in which we were sat - there was no natural light and it felt more like a throughway than a dining area. The red decor in parts cheapened it too. But other areas looked nicer. I believe a new firm has now taken over and another refurb is in store, which is hopefully nicer. Couldn't fault the food though.

We love this place but it’s a bit far to travel, but we know it’s always worth the effort. We arrived on a Sunday at 7pm for Sunday Dinner to be told they had sold out. We then had some other minor issues with our drinks order, the starter not arriving at all, an alternative part of the pudding being served without consultation and then waiting15 mins for the bill. Visited for a late Sunday lunch. We were seen to our table straight away and our drinks and then food orders were taken quickly. Drinks arrived without much of a wait but then there was what seemed like a huge wait before food. We had ordered three of the “nibbles” to share. When they came they were very good especially the baby squid but we had had to wait for the best part of an hour for them. The wait for mains and desserts was much shorter and everything was very tasty but the wait for the food initially stopped this being a brilliant meal.

The mixed green veg was good except for two long pieces of very stringy unchewable sea vegetable. I talked the Greek couple into trying the Famous Hotpot. They said it was tasty but I was embarrassed by the fact that the dishes had shrunk incredibly since my last visit!! The individual dishes of red cabbage were almost as big as the Hotpot dish!! It was my treat and I didn't want to make a fuss, but felt ripped off at the prices, especially for a lunch. The staff were excellent, very friendly and professional. Visit Three Fishes as advertised a vegan menu. Asked for risotto after 15 minutes came back to day not available. Got vegan burger instead. This was very disappointing as only a large mushroom on a bun with salad and not much taste. Other food was good but not a high standard. Ordered deserts Eccles cheesecake and a vegan apple crumble and vegan custard. When delivered was told no vegan custard and had nothing else vegan to go with it. Vegan crumble was stewed apples with raw oats on top - this really does not make a crumble. The cheesecake was tasteless. Asked the waiter if they did soya milk and was told they don’t have that but they have skimmed. I mentioned to him that if they offering vegan menu would’ve good if they could offer a coffee after the meal. Other food was palatable but don’t think will go again. Booked ahead for lunch for 11 people. Whilst we had a lovely time it was hard work from start to finish. Advised initially no record of the booking! The menu is quite restricted anyway but today there were no prawn dishes or pate plus poor pudding availability. The vegan burger was misleading -it's only a bun with a mushroom, slice of aubergine and tomato, served with a slice of cold tomato. Unimaginative. Clearly not au fait with gluten free food either. Dish had to be returned. Service is sooo slow. The bill was incorrect too and had to be amended twice!! In May the Three Fishes changed hands and is having trouble with suppliers - asked the staff. However apart from the vegan 'burger' the food is good but sadly nothing exceptional. Is the Three Fishes taking note of these poor reviews. Please get organised, sharpen up your act and look after your customers.

My mom has had some lovely meals here and was excited to take me some where she likes and that my grand parents, back in the day had loved. We arrived at 1815 and the place was fairly quiet. When we ordered our food, mom ordered baked fish with no sauce and informed them this was due to allergies, we were told there was a 30 minute wait which was fine. The waiter came back and said my veggie option was not available, so I reordered. The wait then started. Our meals arrived at 2045 and Moms was smothered in the sauce she had stated she didn’t want, being allergic. It was taken away and 15 minutes given as the time to replace. It finally took another 30 minutes for the correct meal to arrive. In the time we were there only 2 more had been seated so it was not busy. They comped both our meals, and whilst the staff we dealt with were lovely, the food once right was excellent, over all it was disappointing. Would we go again, well that would be my mom decision.

We were looking forward to a nice Sunday lunch. My sister-in-law and i had the roast beef with trimmings, the green bobby beans were nearly raw, conversely, the roast potatoes and cauliflower were mushy and over cooked and the yorkshire pudding was burnt. My beef was ok, but my sister-in-law's was tough and had gristle. We informed our waitress and the chef sent her back the same beef cut up into small pieces. She felt this was extremely patronising and did not want to eat any more of her food. The waitress did ask if my sister-in-law would like anything else but having been embarassed by the experience we left and paid the bill at the bar. We were not happy with our bill and complained to the cashier about being charged the full amount for my sister-in-law's meal, we would have expected the restaurant manager to have refunded us for her meal or at least offered us 50% off this bad experience.

At 7.30 when we arrived on a Saturday night, they announced they had run out of chips. Weird for a pub, right? Couldn't some one go and buy some potatoes? We sat down and ordered fish and roast potatoes. Then after 20 minutes a brave...

We had enjoyed a 2 hour walk around the local area including Eddisford Bridge. I originally wanted hot pot as it had been previously recommended but the waitress said that as it was freshly cooked it would be about 25 minutes. I was hungry so...

After a walk in the Ribble Valley we booked a table in this restaurant and was amazed at the food quality. Staff was very helpful and we had a great meal after a great walk in a nice sunny day!

Went here as a party of six old friends for lunch. Had drinks in the bar area and ordered our food from there, before being shown to the table. Starters arrived fairly promptly. We had two of the nibble platters, which were good but too much bread and not really enough variety. We had to wait a long time for the main courses, even though very few other customers were left in the restaurant. The food was very nicely presented and right size portions - not too big and not too small. However, by the time we finished the main courses, it was time to go. Quicker service would have provided opportunity for deserts. The food overall was good and the service friendly, but we have been to better pub restaurants in the north west.

We hadn't planned to visit The Three Fishes but due to a very long wait at another nearby restaurant we decided to try The Three Fishes. Luckily it was dog friendly! The decor is lovely, it's a very 'posh' restaurant. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Some of the clientele weren't pleased to see a dog (even though she is a tiny chihuahua) which I understand as this wasn't really a 'pub' that you end up in at the end of a dog walk, it's rather upmarket and their faces told us so! The food was delicious but each dish was a small portion for a very large price. The service was slow, we had to get someones attention to place our order and then again get someones attention to clear our plates and order desserts. They were very busy though & staff were friendly when serving us and the orders were correct and served with a smile. There was a very long wait for the food to come out, with our 5 year old this wasn't ideal but at least we knew the food was freshly prepared. The desserts were divine! Everything we had was delicious. We would come back, however maybe just as a couple next time to fully enjoy the meal. If there was a swing or something in the garden area to keep a child busy then people could take their children outside and keep them busy during the wait for food - this is the only thing stopping me marking as a 5 star. (The only other thing that bothered me was there was a fork on the floor that the staff walked past numerous times and didn't attempt to pick up, If I worked there I couldn't have walked past it a dozen times and ignored it!)

We enjoyed a lancashire hot pot and some local ice cream. The wine was excellent. We asked for more time to make our choice, but then kept having to go up to the bar or stop a passing member of staff to order anything.

Came here last night for a family meal. Staff & service impeccable (service has been very slow last few times we have visited)! All the starters were spot on,crab tart, squid, scotch egg, fish cakes & tempura king prawn salad (to die for), pig in the middle devoured by 2 of our party (absolutely delish), although my partners mash was not hot! I had sea bream, the fish was lovely but the accompanying mussels tasted a bit weird (not sure if they were supposed to or not lol), my daughters fillet steak was cooked to perfection as were my other daughters lamb chops. We had 3 desserts between us (sticky toffee pud, brownie & panna cotta) all good. We will be back

Dined here a few times before and was always happy with the food and service, so decided to celebrate my boyfriends birthday here and they did not disappoint! Service was prompt - nobody had an empty glass in front of them - and genuinely friendly. Everyone enjoyed their starters and mains (some bacon was forgotten on a burger but as soon as the minor issue was raised the young gentleman who received the complaint sorted it out without any fuss - things do go wrong on a busy Saturday lunchtime but how the staff deal with it is what counts). They even allowed us to bring our own cake in and brought it out candles lit and singing, a big thank you to all involved, and to top it off despite having an awkward split bill involving dashing around and a calculator the staff were happy to help. All 9 of us were happy with our experience and would recommend the 3 Fishes.

Visited here today at around lunchtime. Myself, my partner and our 3 children. Nobody to greet us as we entered the restaurant to show us to a table, therefore we sat down at a table of our choice that didn't have a reserved plaque on it. We were quickly moved onto another table in a separate part of the restaurant next to some cold double doors. The waiter in particular who took our food order was lovely, very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the food took in excess of 45minutes to arrive, when it did finally arrive it was average at best. No apology from management what so ever. Won't be returning here.

This was our first visit and it was a busy Saturday. The menu read well and seemed tempting. There was a gin menu and belatedly we found a cocktail menu. We were sat opposite a welcoming fire.

A waitress turned up with a small fan heater, which helped immensely, the food was ok,but nothing special this time, much worse than the first time we went there ,and very expensive for lunch ,£100 for 4 people, and no one had lobster or pheasant, one of our party had the cheese souffle starter as a main, and it was so small, the salad hid the poor little mite. The steak I wanted ,the waitress eventually turned up and said it was unavailable,so I went for the fish pie. I will not be going back there again.
