Been here few times with our mum . Food was really lovely ..so we as my mums family came here to celebrate mothers day for our mum ..who sadly passed away in December 23 ...we recieved our starters of prawn cocktail..just a few prawns hardly any sauce .the roll was so stale you couldn't even cut it ..waited 1 hour & 45 mins for our main to come out ..the 4 potato's were so dry & powdery .the veg was hardly any ..must say the roast beef was lovely. Frozen Yorkshire pudding ..wasn't nice at all .wasn't worth the wait .desserts the gateau was so small .so we wasn't happy that we came to celebrate for our mum life & ended up very deflated ..wont rush back that's for sure .

Have been visiting the historic Three Daws establishment for years. Centre of the community and one of the go to places in the area for a decent standard of cuisine at a very competitive price point and wide range of regularly rotated guest ales, IPA’s etc. Recommend this friendly and accommodating pub to all! Especially on a warm evening when you can sit on the terrace overlooking the River with a cold beverage 😊

Visited this pub for the first time, as it is featured in a book I have called Kent Smugglers' Pubs. It's right by the river and the pier where there is a ferry boat to Tilbury, but it doesn't run Sundays. We enjoyed Sunday Roast, and was pleased to see they have a vegetarian option of nut roast which was very tasty. There are also quite a few vegan meals available. My husband had the mixed roast which has a bit of lamb, beef and chicken, he went for the standard size, I had the small option. This is a lovely old pub with plenty of character including wonky floors, and serves delicious food. They have quite a few ales which pleased my husband. We didn't get round to trying the puddings but plan to visit again to have the gipsy tart, vegan key lime pie or crumble. The Saxon Shore Way starts in Gravesend so this is a handy place to eat before you start. The England Coast Path also goes along here, and there is another walk shown on a large board nearby. No smugglers' tunnels are available to see, but there might be historical guided tours of the town and riverside, I need to contact the Visitor Information Centre. We parked in a local council carpark which is free on Sundays.

We missed our ferry back to tilbury by seconds literally watching it pull away from the pier . So first thought is we’ve got half an hour till the next one and the nearest pub is this . So a quick beer was had in very pleasant surroundings in an old timber beamed pub steeped in history with quirky staircases lots of different floor levels and Thames views . What’s not to like ? And a bar billiards table ! A person fifty plus would remember seeing a bar billiards table in a pub occasionally, but personally I haven’t seen one this century! Or less dramatic , for twenty five years ! Anyway what seemed like a time wasting pint turned into a pleasant experience. Thanks to all at the daws hotel

My wife and I had eaten here last year and enjoyed the food very much. We ate here again Saturday night and were disappointed. The menu is much changed and the quality has also declined. The Prawn cocktails were fine although the sauce was not fresh. Brown bread no butter. I had the roast chicken, it was a sliced up breast ( was OK) 3 roast pots (ok) Carrots (0k) frozen green beans, Brussels (watery and tasteless) and an aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire pud and gravy. Wife had the chicken burger that was presented in a white pappy bun, salad and chips were ok. Gypsy tart was OK but what was spoonful of Lemon curd for? Ice cream was OK too. The food was nowhere near as good as it use to be…shame.

When London Port was busy, with lots of ships anchoring in Gravesend Reach awaiting berths further upriver, the Three Daws was one of the pubs favoured by seamen from all over the world. This meant it was also the preferred boozer for the various locals who worked in the shipping world. As such, it was a vibrant pub with a wee bit of a rough edge. Move forward many years and it is a modern style pub that clearly sees dining as a major part of the business but, pleasingly, still has plenty of room for the simple drinker. It’s a very smart pub and the service was welcoming and friendly. The only downside is that some of the bar staff clearly haven’t been taught how to pour lager and were filling glasses to the brim, with no head, resulting in flat beers. Simple solution - ask all bar staff to look up countless lager adverts and see that they all have pictures of crisp lagers with a generous white topping. To be fair, when I took my lifeless pint back, another member of staff changed it and, at my request, put a decent head on it.

Was looking forward to the day’s special of Fish Pie but mine was mostly potato and peas in a creamy sauce that tasted of fish but only contained two very small flakes of actual fish. Seasonal vegetables of swede and cabbage were pleasant, yet more mashed potato (an error as I requested chips) whilst my wife’s roast potatoes were lack lustre. Accompanying sauce may have been parsley but it was thin and fairly bland. Overall a disappointing experience in a very noisy environment but with quick and pleasant service.
