Great food and service the only slight issue is if you visit when it's chilly don't sit at table 14 as you seem to get wind hitting your table I guess it's OK when it's hot outside

First trip to a pub since before first lockdown, beers were flat, cider bottles were warm, and tried to con our table out of £25 by adding extra drinks and cordial to our bill. Food wasn’t bad but fell ill the following morning.

If you're visiting from overseas, you must come here. This is a proper old English pub dating back to the 17C. This is a proper pub which has been in the same family for many, many years. Kat, the landlady, is wonderful, warm and nothing too much trouble. The annual beer-festival is a way to sample proper English ales. Reminds me of the gold old days. You won't get poncy, pretentious gastropub nonsense, nor loud music or other gimmicks. You'll get a proper pub experience. Their weekly quiz has raised hundreds of thousand ££ for charity in recent years. Love it.

We visited this pub the other day and it seemed they were totally unaware of the measures restaurants and pubs are supposed to take regarding covid. The bar staff were not wearing masks or visors. Customers were ordering at the bar rather than at their tables and no one took our details. When I questioned the barmaid regarding these issues she just shrugged. I was pretty horrified to see this so would advise against a visit if you are bothered about catching the virus.

Went with 12 other people for dinner. My food was delicious and everyone agreed that the portion sizes were ample. No-one had a bad thing to say about their choices of food. We sat in the area at the back of the pub which was spacious and airy. We were not packed in with little space to move as in other pubs that I have experienced. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and enhanced the dining experience.

This gastro pub is located on main road close to Bushy. It has satisfactory parking and excellent outdoor seating. Staff is friendly and drinks okay. However food is terrible. There is minimal vegetarian option. Vegetarian halloumi chips we ordered were fried in the same oil as fish! Rice was out of stock so we were served mash potato burgers that were burnt. Salmon steak was way over cooked. All in all a very disappointing meal.

I first visited The Three Crowns last year specifically because of its part in Wham! and George Michael folklore. Five of us visited on a Saturday evening. Was quite busy but we had reserved a table the day before. Although the pub is in Bushey Heath, the interior with it's wooden beams and old worldy charm gives the impression of being in a nice country pub.We ordered food from the main menu though there was a specials menu available. We did have to wait nearly 40 mins for our food to be delivered to the table but it was well worth the wait (my chicken dish took a bit longer to cook than anticipated). The food was delicious, all freshly prepared and piping hot, the empy plates at the end was evidence of that! Desserts were very nice, my spotted dick and custard went down very nicely. Prices were reasonable too - drinks, main courses and desserts coming to a total of £100I would have given 5* if service had been a bit quicker but it won't stop me going back again, Oh, and the staff were very nice too!

I visited the Three Crowns at lunchtime on a Tuesday with two friends and found a nice little corner to sit in. I think this must have been a mistake as the staff (I only saw two girls serving on tables, but in our area we were the only ones dining) obviously forgot we were there. We ordered our meals, two Chilli Con Carnes and one vegetable lasagne and these were served pretty quickly. I looked at the Chilli and was surprised to see what I thought was a meatball stuck at the side and also one (just one) large lump of carrot in amongst the mince. The overall impression was that this was leftover mince from another dish with a bit of Chilli powder sprinkled in. The bread served with it was good - fresh and light. The vegetable lasagne was not a success either, as my friend took off all the cheese topping, saying that she didn't know what sort of cheese it was but it wasn't pleasant! One of the party had to go looking for a member of staff to ask for dessert menus and then had to go and find them again to order. We each had something different and all were fine. Then we thought we might have coffee, which meant another foraging trip to order these, and when they came there were only two, not three. The two that were delivered were tepid and tasteless to the point where I couldn't drink mine and left it.Another foraging expedition got us the bill and a wait for someone to take our money, whereupon the waitress took the cash away and said she would return with the change. We didn't see her again but as we had only rounded up the bill by a small amount we weren't worried Nobody saw us leave, nobody said goodbye and the experience was not a pleasant one (apart from the company). I can think of many better places to spend £21 and I won't be wasting it at the Three Crowns again.

Saturday evening meal here. Following an excellent crayfish and crab starter we tried dishes from the 'specials' menu although the main menu had a good selection. I chose calves liver which was presented well with all the right favours but I would be asking your butcher for better cuts of liver. Staff were welcoming but we did feel a little rushed. Would probably have had dessert but the plastic mass produced dessert menu is unappealing and suggests factory bought rather than home made. I think you would sell more desserts if the menu gave an impression of individuality. All in all, an ok meal but you have a venue and a product that, with minor tweaks, could be better.

But guess what, our plates arrived with the food swimming in gravy! I told the waitress of our request but just mumbled 'sorry' and walked off to giggle with other staff. I had to ask for a condiment even though it was listed as part of the meal!!! Seems it was being run by young staff with no one in charge.... There were 12 of us who all met up, then took two tables for the quiz. None of us ate anything so unable to comment on the food, but, the restaurant was quite full, which to me states its popularity. Half way through the quiz, they offered sausage rolls, pork sausages, cut into bite sizes and meat balls. None of us had any of these as they weren't kosher, but looking at other people who took the 'bits' to their tables, they were obviously very popular and the buffet table was quickly emptied. I went to the Three Crowns mid-week for an evening meal. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful; the food was served quickly and was delicious!Apparently Wednesday nights is Steak Night and I had a 10oz sirloin steak with chips and salad, plus a 175ml glass of wine for £15 which I thought was excellent value (a rump steak was £12 including two side dishes and a glass of wine). My friend had the dessert, a very homely apple and cherry crumble and custard which looked nearly as good as my mother's! There were lots of other dishes on the menu that I would have been more than happy to eat, as well as the specials on the board. I would definitely return and would recommend this pub as a very good place to eat out at. The only reason that I haven't given it five stars is that I felt the annexe at the back of the pub where I sat was a little too bright and impersonal for my liking (overhead spotlights) and I perhaps should have opted to eat within the pub area.

bought my mum here for her birthday , I read some decent reviews and a reasonably priced menu and thought I'd give it a shot . the pub itself does lend that traditional pub feel and it seems to be family freindly , it has a wonderful conservatory over looking a pretty garden . the staff couldn't be more freindly and welcoming . my expierence was let down by the food and the mechanics of the service, in the pubs defence it was busy due to a quiz night happening and they seemed a member or two under staffed for that occasion, what can't be excused is the flow of how our food came out we recieved our starters which were pretty decent but it came out in dribs and drabs and as we were finishing our starters our mains were at the table I was slightly embarrassed for the waitress and owner who delivered our food it's quiet clear there was a time management issue happening with the chefs which may need to be addressed by the three crowns, to top it off my steak was over cooked so I sent it back . fair play to the staff they comped us some coffees and comped my mum a birthday cake . so because of the front of house staff and the custom they showed I would go back to give the three crowns another try .

Nice friendly local pub. Worth a visit on a hot sunny afternoon as they have a large garden where you can enjoy a meal and a pint.

The Three Crowns in Bushey is a perfect example of a great local pub - good food, wonderful staff, a good quiz night, lovely log fire & of course the drinks, a perfect evening. Thank you to a great landlord for making us feel so welcome.

As ever, the Three Crowns provides a good standard of food, drink and service at reasonable prices. It does well to manager both the Food and Drink elements and is a proper Pub with a Restaurant managing to do both at the same time rather than sacrificing one for the other as so many do.The Landlord Michael is helpful, amusing and works both sides of his business well.Great place to go and intend to return at Easter for a family get together!

I was looking for somewhere to book for mothers day and was recommended the three crowns by a friend. We booked for 4:30 and came a little early, we were seated straight away and we were welcomed with a friendly, warm greeting . The food came out hot, there was a slight delay for starters but a member of our party was late however we were in no rush. Our potato skins looked more like wedges, but were very tasty. I had the roast chicken which was so tasty, it had parsnips on it which was delicious and potato's were fluffy, would have liked some broccoli with it though, felt like it needed something green on the plate. The croissant pudding was so amazing, highly highly recommend it. All in all the experience was great and we had 10% off for pre ordering and 10% off for sitting down after the rush which was a nice added touch. Will definitely be return.

Im always wary of booking a busy restaurant on an occasion like Mothers Day as I have had disasters in the past. Thankfully yesterday was far from a disaster. We were a party of 5 adults and one child. We were greeted and seated on arrival and as we had pre ordered (taking up the 10% discount for doing so), there was no messing about waiting for orders to be taken. The waitress checked our requirements and the food was delivered promptly. Every bit of the food served was eaten which speaks for itself. As always the staff were totally professional and very helpfull. Even though the place was packed and they must have been waiting to turn our table round there was no pressure on us to rush. All in all I cant praise the chief of staff highly enough and I had a wonderful lunch and spent a very special time with family.

Booked well in advance on the day it turns out they had a fixed price 3 course menu.So despite only having mains were charged the full whack, now I was not paying but we had gone on my recommendation (which makes it worse)I consider this to be an utter rip off as we were not informed when the booking was taken, will not be using them again ever ever everHad used them in the past and recommended them as alternative to other nearby restaurants, alas left with very bitter taste in mouth, other shortcomings are tables crowded near entrance to kitchen alternative space is separate restaurant area that gets very cold and draughty in the Winter. When I complained had the distinct feeling I was being mocked >>> very very unhappy with this simply awful !!!!Th

This pub provides excellent food, great value menu on Sundays at around £12 for two courses. Outside is misleading as it needs a little attention but inside the restaurant is very good and well decorated. Thank you to Chef and staff for a very enjoyable lunch.

Large pub with separate, comfortable rooms for drinking and dining; friendly staff and good service.Food is usual pub fayre; all good without being exciting and plenty of choice on the menu.Lots of room for groups and no need to be swamped by any particular feature or aspect of the place.

Had a family birthday meal for 22 on Sunday and the staff were so lovely and nothing was a problem. Everyone had all their food at the same time, was all hot and tasty.Normally going out as a group there is usually a problem with service that spoils the experience. Not so here. Pleasant happy staff and plenty of them and Manager who knows what's going on and what you need.

I went to this pub in a group of 10 for a Christmas dinner which was superb as the staff are so friendly and accommodating, and the food was incredibly tasty. Good portion sizes and a price of £21.99 for 3 courses. I would thoroughly recommend this pub and intend on visiting again!

Popped in here for a meal two weeks before Christmas. We were shown to the snug, which was very cosy, just 4 tables, we were given the menu and we waited quite a long time to order, they seemed to of forgotten that there were a few customers waiting in there to have their orders taken. Once we had ordered the food came up quite quickly.I had the king prawns in chilli sauce which were very nice, and my husband had the potato skins, which was a very good portion (I had had them on our last visit really good) To follow we both had the beef and mushroom pie, nice light pastry case good amount of meat, and a nice selection of veg. I was full, but my husband managed a trifle for dessert his favourite which came in it's own pot.Nice friendly staff who were rushed off their feei, will go back, but maybe not just before Christmas

Sadly this was not my best trip to this usually pleasant restaurant. I will not return after being called a bitch by the waiter! After he bumped into me why we waited for a table. Then rudely ordered me to wait at the bar. The most worrying part of this is that the food that fell onto the wraiters trousers...and was crushed with him trying to catch it was then served to the customer!!!! I will not return. Don't appreciate bei g called a bitch! Appalling behaviour and food was pretty awfull to go with it.

I’ve been here a few times . Not disappointed so far! Good food and good value for money . It’s a no frills style kind of establishment but a lot of the time that suits me as long as the food value for money and service are good . Which they are here . Latest meal i had was the ham eggs chips and beans , with an extra egg and slice of bread and butter for my chip butty and a nice coffee . And change from a £10 note ! Just the job !
