The Terrace Arts Cafe in East Devon

We were wet and tired, few places were actually open. (Jan 2nd) We arrived just on closing time, but were made very welcome, as long as we did not want a meal. Fair enough. Coffee was excellent as was the warm cinnamon bun with chocolate topping. Not much more I can say.

Sat outside in the sun great lunch and good service gluten free a factor in our group, note not opening 7 days a week

Main server had bad body odour. Main meal curry and rice was boring , not spicy enough had cheap and weird ingredients was microwaved to death ..very overpriced for what it was. I had luxury cheese on toast...that was well overdone and very dry. Served as one piece of toast in the middle of the plate...no garnish chutney and cost £5.95..... Staff seemed very young and inexperienced. Place was generally grubby..which fitted with the arts vibe I guess. !!!!! Many better options in Seaton like La Barrista....

Just popped in for lunch with a colleague who was visiting for meetings. Really friendly, welcoming atmosphere and we were treated really warmly. The food was delicious, and love that there is so many plant-based options. Really superb choice.

Just had a coffee but lovely eclectic place with very friendly staff and great coffee.

Stopped for lunch on a very sunny day. We had our dog with us and were made to feel very welcome. Both outside tables were either reserved or taken, so went inside. There was just one other couple in, however soon filled up in the next half hour. The curry and rice and mushroom and leak pastry were ordered. I was informed the curry was very tasty and was duly dispatched. I had the mushrooms and leak pastry, they were delicious very creamy and moorish. There were plenty of chips ( I did have help eating them) and the salad, again was delicious. I finished the meal with a flat white and should have had another one. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Well worth the visit

Really nice staff, great location and lovely food ( if you like cheese or so long as you can tolerate cheese) otherwise for me it was beans on toast. Well worth a try though.

Cozy cafe atmosphere with amazing vegetarian and vegan options. They also have coffee, soda, ales and ciders available. Such a charming place!

Really nice place. Good food and great service. Found it by chance and pleasec we did. Only serves veggie or vegan (not saying that's a bad thing) but just wanted to make folk aware. Give it a go, it's a very unique place

Me and my mum enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the cafe today. Both my veggie option and mum's vegan option were delicious! The staff were very helpful, friendly and handled a rude customer very well today! They let dogs in too, which I love!

Wonderful place to eat and drink. Only slight down side was it was a bit cold, especially when the door was open. Need to light a nice fire in there, but can't fault everything else.

We have lived in the area now for 5 years. And have found the people to generally be welcoming and kind. Which is why it saddens me so much to have had such an awful experience the terrace arts cafe today. I have 2 autistic kids on our first and last visit to this establishment one of them was very disregulated. We were accosted by the manager and verbally abused. She shouted in our faces. When I got up to Challenge her and explain that my kids are autistic and just needed time to settle she told me she did not care and she had other customers. I sincerely hope that these other customers take note of this kind of abelist attitude and do not frequent this place and support such toxic and prejudiced views. I will be leaving reviews on this place on Every forum I can find so others know to avoid it and are not subjected to the abuse me and my family were. It is not good for the otherwise inclusive and friendly people of the area and a bad example to those visiting the area. I will also be contacting all the autism groups to let them know how this establishment treats people with nuerodivergent traits.

Delicious fresh and tasty food. Lovely staff. Such a shame only bathroom is up a flight of stairs as elderly or less agile diners might be put off.

My friend and I happened to be in Seaton (after the tram ride) and came across the cafe, attracted by the sign outside and we said it had our names on it 😁 I'm Coeliac and she's a vegetarian. After a walk around we went for lunch. The food was lovely and the staff very friendly. I was rather disappointed that it isn't open in the evening since I was going to the theatre a few days later and would have gone back for a pre-theatre supper if it had been.

We had a lovely veggie gluten free lunch here. We were spoilt for choice with gf veggie options which is very rare for us! There were lots of delicious desserts on offer too. Our doggie was very welcome too.

Fantastic little cafe. With a veggie and a gluten free diet to accommodate our options are often few, but The Terrace Arts Cafe had plenty of options for our GF son which were kid friendly but also would be great for adults too. And being entirely veggie it was perfect. Service fantastic and a setting to match. Clean, efficient and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Birthday lunch with work colleagues. Food was fresh & hot. We did pre-order our food as we only had a hour & this speeded things up a little.

Wow - what a find !! Super little cafe - we had the MOST delicious Chickpea soup with cheese toastie (yum) and a lovely little side salad. Great find when you want something different to fish and chips or pasties! Will definitely return!

Today we had a wonderful lunch at this lovely cafe, this place is the future a place that offers something for everyone from meat eaters to vegans my husband and I had the most beautiful vegan lunch with a very lovely vegan hot chocolate. The staff were lovely and inviting. When down this way again we will definitely be coming here again.

I love this place! As someone with coeliac I often have very few places I can eat, but here almost everything on the menu could be made gluten free. They also do a bunch of awesome cocktails! I had such a great time and if I lived around here I daresay I would be in three times a week.

Lovely coffees and cakes in the winter sunshine 👏👏

This is one of my favourite cafés/restaurants. I live an hour away but try to pop in for a fabulous meal every few months. The vegetable stew with carribian dumplings is simply outstanding! The courgette fritters are amazing (who doesn't like fried food?). And the sweet potato chips are just incredible because they come with 3 dipping sauces that compliment the sweet potato perfectly (sweet and sour sauce, pear chutney, and soured cream). I believe non-vegetarians, vegetarians and vegans can easily find a delicious meal here. And if you're not vegetarian, please don't worry about feeling awkward in this café- there are only friendly faces in it and no judging! The staff are so nice and accommodating and I highly recommend trying this café.

Marvelous, had a brownie and coffee while I passed by, it was packed, which is always a good sign. Extremly nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Also, thank you for finding my lost phone!🤭 Would definitely recommend. -The Swedish guy.

What a lovely find on my first visit to Seaton. My Terrace salad was delicious and filling. Staff were very friendly, food was served quickly too. Haven't tried the brownie yet but looking forward to it with a cuppa. Look forward to visiting again on my next visit.

I don't dine anywhere else in Seaton, so long as The Terrace is open. Internal tables are screened off and the whole process of dining in the restaurant is very well managed. A great range of tasty vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Fabulous coffee....and wait for it!......great social interacting service with a smile. Thanks everyone as always 😊

Wow what a great Café. The food was really nice and well worth the money. Service was also spot on.

Great atmosphere and lots a fab vegan and veggie dishes. We had a delicious vegan stew, creamy vegan soup and vegan cinnamon roll and flapjack (and vegan hot chocolate with cream 😊 yum). Really friendly staff, great for kids too as they have lots of toys and high chairs. Very weloming for dogs too! Highly recommend.

I had a delicious and very filling vegetarian curry when I visited while on holiday this week. It is clearly very popular with locals, and I'm not surprised as the staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful as well as serving really good food.

A delightful setting for delicious food and drink. Friendly service in an intriguing venue. The chai latte I had was one of the best I have ever had. The brie, grape and cranberry toastie was magnificent. My wife enjoyed her cocktail and reported that the sweet potato chips with three dips was excellent.

Really enjoyed our visit to The Terrace Arts Cafe. We were in Seaton for the tram and wanted somewhere to eat. Being veggie we saw the vegetarian sign and had to try it. The food was great and the staff were friendly. The food is cooked fresh so be prepared for a wait. The portions are huge. My dad wanted something light so had chips and some bread - and it was as big as the main meal I ordered.

We had a fantastic meal and our dog was welcome too. The portions were generous and it was amazing to have such a choice of meals. The staff were all lovely. We will definitely be going back to try some more dishes on the menu.

We ate there today with family, my Son ordered a humous sandwich and began to feel very unwell saying it felt like his allergy to peanuts. After a terrible 30 minutes of him taking antihistamine and being violently ill he felt better. On return to our table the waiter announced that the humous has peanuts in it! He had no awareness of the potential risks and the menu had no note of ingredients Recently a young girl died on a flight after eating an unlabelled Pret sandwich, these people need to take responsibility for their menu and allergens. Peanut allergy is extremely common and potentially life threatening Just had a response from owner to say I was aggressive, complete lies appear to be their response I left quietly but upset as you’d expect in circumstances They have not offered to update menu with ingredients and really should read up on Natasha’s law, in force 2021 Comment on Pret sandwich obvious to all I would hope particularly those in catering

The Arts Cafe is a very nice place to go for meeting friends. The young man who runs it is friendly and the coffee is very tasty. We sit on the balcony facing the sea. A very good Cafe.

What a treat to find this vegetarian / vegan café in sleepy Seaton! Awesome vegetarian stew with dumplings and bread on the side. For something this good we expected to pay more.

Friendly and individual place to have lunch. Numerous tasty options. No meat, fish or egg used in any of the meals on offer. The menu has a large number of vegan and gluten free options. The large nachos were delicious and, well, large! My wife's celery, stilton and walnut sandwich was excellent. Neither of us had room for dessert!

Friendly and helpful staff welcomed us and our dog (who was even given her own bed to relax on while we ate), delicious food and vegan options :)
