The Swan in City of London, Westminster

Nice pub, grade 2 listed, opposite Hyde park, which you get great views from up stairs. The food sadly was very mediocre.. order was wrong .. tepid food and dry £12 for full English Management did to be fair rectify the mistake but resulted in dry over cooked, I suspect the food was placed under a heater rather than cook the order fresh .. Would I go back .. I would but not for food

Went for Sunday roast. The meat was overdone but the accompanying vegetables were quite tasty. There was a Yorkshire pudding that seemed tired. Everything was helped by gravy. But … this pub has one of my FAVORITE beers, Fuller’s Black Cab porter. That was the highlight for me. Next time, I’ll just have the beer.

Lovely breakfast and a nice change from an impersonal hotel dining room. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We will definitely be back next time we stay in that part of London.

Proper London Pub. Loads of space. Good choice of beer. Right next to Hyde Park. Beer, fish and chips. Super quick service.

Had an evening meal with delegates on a training course in London recently. Staff were friendly and food was very good and had been cooked properly and not just microwaved

The Swan by Hyde Park was the perfect stop for our first day in London. It’s the quintessential cozy English pub. The patio has great views and the food hit the spot. My husband has fish and chips, and I had the sea bass and both were cooked to perfection.

War zum Frühstück dort. Das Essen war Ok und den Kaffee konnte man nicht trinken. Hat nur nach Wasser geschmeckt. Preis Leistung ok.

The money there charge for the food and size it not worth Ive only I been In London all day and we were so hungry and tired and was the closest to are hotel never eat in they again I find I was rip off big time

Quando sono venuta insieme alla mia amica ad agosto 2023 il personale era gentile ed ho mangiato bene. Il 7 dicembre siamo tornate, ma tutta un'altra storia. Abbiamo chiesto per cenare e la cameriera del pub ha detto di andare direttamente nella sala ristorante e chiedere per 2. I cheese burger erano annacquati... può capitare e le onion rings zuppe di olio... anche no. Il giorno dopo ci ripresentiamo, volendo rimanere nelle vicinanze. Ci avviamo verso la sala ristorante e il manager/ proprietario infastidito ci ha fermato dicendo che dovevamo prima chiedere al pub e poi lui chiedeva se c'era possibilità di cenare. Ho dato una seconda possibilità al cheese burger... più annacquati del giorno prima. Che dire... se cambiate le regole una volta al giorno l'ipotetica clientela non può saperlo. Strano, in Inghilterra non mi era capitata ancora.

We booked a table for a small work Christmas dinner, but were dismayed to find that they had no vegetarian dinner options, as the only one on the menu was sold out. This was at 6pm, so I dont see how it could have sold out. They obviously hadn't prepped any. The waitress suggested a mix of chips and onion rings, which doesn't really do the job as a Christmas dinner. I had a salad instead. Brilliant. We asked for a second wine list so that more than one person could read it, and they said that they only had one list available. Seems a bit strange. When we were about 20 minutes into our dinner, a waiter came and moved our glasses and bottles aside to put a "reserved" sign on our table for the next seating. We found this to be incredibly rude, as it felt like we were being hurried. The reservation wasn't due for another two hours, so it felt unnecessary. We took the sign off while we ate, and the waiter argued with us until we let him put it back. Not very Christmassy, and I didn't have the energy to fight him too much on it, because all I'd had to eat was a salad. Well played, The Swan. So all in all, OK food (if what is on the menu is actually available), awful service.

Great spot to relax from the city

Tradition food in a charming pub with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, although not overly so - just right! The food was good and very much appreciated by two hungry people who had spent the day travelling. I’m told the Guinness was very good!

Food was underwhelming and outrageously priced given the quality of what was brought to the table. Portion sizes fell well short of expectations. Expected much more for the price. £17.50 for a cheeseburger not much bigger than McDonald’s! And the Maccas burger tasted better! Service was prompt but not exactly hospitable. We’re still waiting for the water that we ordered…. we won’t be returning and would not recommend.

Such a disappointment, ruined a family dinner. Don’t expect to receive the same dinner you ordered, they will have run out !!!

Been there 20 years ago and still it fiills me with the pub pleasure...

We went for Christmas party with work colleagues, we had a great time and the live music was insane! The guy was asking us what we wanted to hear me he could sing absolutely anything. We had the best time

The employees were very friendly and helpful. Furthermore the English breakfast and coffee were great. All in all it was worth the price tag and warrants a return.

I enjoyed the roast beef dinner. It was delicious. The tea was just what I needed to perk me up.

Met up with a few friends for a Christmas dinner. No Christmas options on the menu. Waiter seemed confused everytime we've ordered something and even with drinks, he had to check 3 times before bringing them over, totally fine to check but he had a notepad. No service was provided apart from when food/drinks were brought over and when it got to paying. No checking on our food, drinks weren't topped and we had to call the waiters even though we were right next to them. No last drinks have been called, only when we wanted to get another round we were told that the bar is closed. Nice Christmasy decor around, but that's it. Do not recommend it unless it's your last resort. 10% service charge automatically applied for nothing...

Delicious! Very glad we came here! Prices are not bad either; corn fed chicken, haddock fish & chips with 3 beers $81 (£63.73). That's what we spend in the US for not even as good of food!

Staff were unwelcoming upon arrival, pints were underpoured & when a member of our group requested a glass, the glass was wet and warm straight out of the dishwasher. Before closing, the last order bell rung 10 minutes before the pub closed, allowing customers to order drinks that they would then have to pour themselves into plastic cups (under scrutiny of the pub’s security). We were rushed out of the pub rudely, and feedback given to the pub was taken with a lack of appreciation. I would avoid if expecting an enjoyable pub experience. The pub security then blamed the pubs alliance with the Fuller Group and accepted no responsibility for poor experience. As someone who has worked in the service industry, I was left very unimpressed.

Toller Pub!!! Ganz nahe bei Underground Station "Lancaster Gate". Wir sind jeden Abend nach unserem Sightseeing eingekehrt!!! Unser Hotel war gerade um die Ecke!!!

OJO!!! NOS ROBARON EN LA ZONA DEL RESTAURANTE. Ha perdido todo el encanto que tenía. Iba cada vez que visitaba Londres. Siempre estaba lleno! Con un ambiente súper divertido!! Esta vez estaba vacío. El cambio me pareció horrible, esa pintura verde/azul agua es... 😖😖😖😖😖 la hamburguesa seca, sin sabor. Penoso. Y para completar, NOS ROBARON !! A mi amiga la tarjeta, y a mi 200 libras!! Abrieron los bolsos, cogieron los monederos de las dos, nos robaron la tarjeta y las libras y volvieron a dejar todo en su sitio y con las cremalleras de los bolsos otra vez cerradas!! OJO!!!

Le hasard fait toujours bien les choses. En nous rendant à notre hôtel hier, nous sommes passées, ma fille et moi devant ce restaurant. Nous y sommes revenues pour manger et nous ne l’avons pas regretté ! Personnel et plats au top ! Pour un pris raisonnable pour Londres … À faire sans hésiter !

After stopping here for a drink on the way back to our hotel on Saturday, we decided to give it a try for breakfast before our journey home & we wasn't disappointed, the breakfast was great & plenty of it. The staff were very helpful & very professional. Great place to try.

We stayed three nights near by. This pub is very busy and popular. Good outside heated area,pub/restaurant area inside. Cosy although not to warm by the door! A fair choice of drinks and the food came out hot. We had the breakfast £12/14 full English. Hot and well presented although not enough beans(personal preference) very good value. 100% . All staff were pleasant.

This is my personal favorite pub to quietly read, or work. Place has great service and cozy atmosphere. Alternatively it offers outside seating for a pint or two. Pub good not the greatest to my taste.

I was in London for 4 nights with my dad. We were two nights into the Swan. The food was amazing! The Service brilliant. Fast, kind and attentive. Both days, we really had a lovely waitress with Krupa! Thank you for the great time.

Nice place to visit opposite Hyde Park. Quality of the drinks is excellent. But possibly on the pricey side. But then again this is London

We visited this bar for dinner and had A good time. The menu is not long, but it was long enough. We ate fish and chips and hamburger. The prices is medium. We experienced good service.

As mentioned in many of the other reviews, the staff is just incredibly rude. We booked a table for 12 for a Christmas Sunday Roast a couple years ago. We stayed for maybe 4hrs, drinking, eating, chatting, and probably spent north of £700 that afternoon. And yet, the staff behaved as if they just didn't want us there, even making nasty faces at us when they thought we weren't looking. The only person I remember being a nice human was a young server with pink hair. I am absolutely never coming back, and if anyone mentions the place to me, I will say how horrible it is and suggest going somewhere else. You need to learn to have basic respect for the people who keep you in business.

Das ist jetzt so richtig englisch, fish and chips und so. Die Speisekarte ist angenehm kurz. Von draußen sieht man nicht gleich, dass sie noch einen äußerst netten Raum im ersten Stock haben, mit Raucherbalkon. Es ist zum Essen ruhiger als unten neben der Bar.

Sehr Cooles Restaurant/Pub, das auch mit dem Essen brillieren konnte. Im oberen Teil war es angenehm ruhig zum essen. Ich werde wiederkommen.

An authentic pub near Hyde Park with delicious pub food classics. It‘s our 4th year spending an extended weekend in London and coming back to the Swan feels a little bit like coming home. Staff is always friendly and makes an effort that it‘s a place where one can feel at ease. Be sure to book your table ahead if you‘re with a group, especially on weekends. I highly recommend the Black pudding scotch egg, if you‘re really hungry give their pies a try. When looking for traditional dishes you can’t do wrong with Fish and Chips or the burger. A garden and a patio on the 1st floor offer enough space to enjoy your stay on warmer days. Definitley will stop by again when being around next time.

A fine pub with a good, though somewhat limited, selection of food. We enjoyed their London Pride steak and ale pie, which was very tasty, but it could have done with more mash. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of old world charm.

Great classic English pub with a long history of serving ale. They used to serve ale to convicts on their way to execution at Tyburn gallows. My wife and I had lunch here in Oct 2023 and loved it. Excellent tea and leek tart.

What a beautiful find while visiting London. I strongly recommend it. And authentic pub filled with wonderful people and great food.

제가 영국에서 일하면서 수많은 피쉬앤칩스를 먹어봤는데 이곳이 가장 맛있었어요. 직원한테 맥주 추천을 받고 시음도 해봤는데 맥주도 시원하고 맛있었습니다. 제가 런던에서 먹은 곳중에서 제일 맛집이었어요. 직원들 엄청 친절한데 특히 잘생긴 그리스 청년이 짱입니다..ㅋ 선불제이고 자리는 알아서 앉는 곳인점 참고하세요

What a great, old pub this is with a modern twist. We fancied a drink and a bite to eat and we had spotted this pub the day before, when we spent our day in Hyde Park. They do a good pint and really tasty burgers, both of which we enjoyed. A pub where you can dwell for longer than you think and it proved very popular whilst we were there, with lots of punters wanting the same experience as us. The bar manager worked the room perfectly and it was a joy to see someone that enjoys his work. Sorry, I didn't get his name. Anyway, we had a great time, were reluctant to leave but really enjoyed our visit.

Nach ein paar Jahren bin ich hier mit Kollegen heute Abend gewesen. Der Service war ok, ein abräumen während Leute noch essen nicht. Über unser Essen waren wir leider negativ überrascht. Das Steak war hart und mit Sehnen durchzogen, die Burger klein und trocken, meine Scholle sehr klein und Kartoffeln lieblos und Salat ohne Dressing. Wiederkommen? Auf ein Bier ja, für Essen ein klären NEIN! Schade, war früher besser!

Had to stop in for a quick bite after a day of touring! Good food. Got a quick. Our server was attentive and nice.

Really polite but not trained staff. We had to play chef at the table to make a kids meal out of ordered food. We don’t know what was added to scrambled eggs but that didn’t have any egg taste. For now the worst food we had in London. Let’s be honest eggs benedict are hipster’s food that only use is to look good, for the instagram. How did you manage they look so dull?

What stood out for me was how polite staff were and that they proactively gave us plastic cups when we had to leave. :)

Beer was good. One of the few pubs that offer all the Fuller beers on tap-including the organic one. Typical pub atmosphere. Fish & chips is not impressive. A huge piece- but mainly all batter. Steak & ale pie was ok

Had a walk in table at the back and ordered a bottle of wine and gin. They had ran out of gin glasses as stated ‘we are busy’ a replacement was given. Onto the menu, pretty sparce and when we asked what gluten free options were available, the waiter didn’t know and was told to scan the QR code at the bottom to look for ourselves. After looking via the app through all the filters found two gluten free options only.. Ordered a scotch egg (Not Scottish egg btw) for start and steak and ale pie for me and a salad for my partner. Quite a while later my main arrived ahead of the starter and was told we’re busy so it’s all coming together.. including the wrong dish for my partner and was told we had ordered the chicken.. which we didn’t.. Turned into a bit of a mess and said we’d pay for the drinks and we’re off….. A lucky break if I’m honest as the dishes that were presented in my view fall very short of what you’d expect for a chain pub of sorts. Not recommended.

My little one and had Burgers, they were great. My wife had Fish n' Chips and she REALL enjoyed that meal as well. Prices are fair, service was on point, I did not run dry on my Guinness, and overall the Team was very friendly. Great memories of a vacation dinner.

I had their speciality dish "One For The Road" which comprised chicken, mushroom, leak, and mashed potato. It was one of the blandest pub meals that I've had in years. The beer (London Pride) was delicious, so I've added a point for that.

A place with and outdoor space, a view to Hyde’s park and excellent service. The waitresses were friendly and the food was quick and good. Also the tea, with flavor and special sugar.

Essen super, allerdings kam Bedienung erst nach 20 Min. an den Tisch, um die Bestellung aufzunehmen. Andere Gäste, die später kamen, wurden gleich bedient. Deshalb 2 Sterne Abzug.

My husband and I ate here during our vacation. We each had 2 drinks, split a charcuterie board, and had a main entree each. Food was delicious and felt like proper British food. The drinks were pretty basic but overall, we had a good time.

Beautiful place, great location, friendly staff. Avoid Sunday roast! We ordered two different ones and they looked good on the plate but meat was tuff and test-less ( beef and pork), potatoes old and test-less, cabbage -dry . The most disappointing meal after a great day out !

On last trip to London, The Swan was right down the street from my hotel. Enjoyed several meals here, and the jolly piano player was most entertaining. A very warm, friendly, and fun place to unwind after a full day on the go. Local English hospitality at its finest and much appreciated.

Didn't eat on this occasion but have eaten here previously and enjoyed it. Nice pit-stop for a swift pint 👍🏼

A really nice pub...we sat outside and had a lager...dearer than up here in the North but London prices are dearer !! A pleasant place to visit and we'd call again...the meals were good too.
