We were in the local area and decided to stop off here for lunch as I'd been here many years before. We were the first ones in for lunch-time and were warmly welcomed and given choices of where we could be seated. This was supposed to be a light lunch but we went off the Lite lunch menu. I had the seafood Linguine and wife had fish & Chips. The quality and quantity of both dishes was outstanding. The Seaford linguine was and so full of flavours, with plenty of Seaford. And the portion size almost beat me but I like a challange. A side bowl for mussel shells and hand wipes was also provided without asking (nice touch) We were well looked after and the staff a credit and engaging. We will be back, even-through we don't live locally.

What a pub. The best in the area. Food ✅ staff ✅ coziness ✅ incredibly blessed that this is our local. Never had a bad meal there. Thank you xxx

A complete Gem!! Food quality, portions, staff, ambiance and much much more. I cannot emphasise enough how good this place really is. Go there and try, you will not be disappointed. We return every Sunday after trying so many different places but nothing comes close to this place.

What a beautiful pub and the food is fresh and well cooked. I loved the beef cheek and on previous visits my favorite is the pear and prosciutto pizza. Drinks are great and so the atmosphere! I love this pub

£120 per person, for a very disappointing Christmas Day lunch. We thought the pub would be closed to non booked ticket holders. It was heaving, extremely loud music. Food was economy standard. Bland… hardly any vegetables on plate but at this price trimmings should of been in bowls along with gravy in boats. Then to top it off a £100 service charge!!! NEVER BOOK CHRISTMAS DINNER THERE! Stick to pizzas!

Was visiting the area on a work trip, and needed to grab a bite to eat before heading home, went for the ultimate hog burger, v. tasty, warm inviting venue and friendly, efficient service, from my server Eve.

We tried The Surrey Cricketers on the off-chance and we will be back! Had an excellent meal - the pizzaz were the best we have had in a long time. The service was quick and the staff were very attentive and friendly. I woild recommend this pub to anyone looking for a good evening out.

Perfect for lunch and one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time! My sticky fig cheese pizza was the best I’ve had and fairly priced where the rest of their menu I feel was just a bit too expensive almost for the sake of it. I was a little shocked when the bill came and my glass of wine was about the same price of my pizza especially as it was just a standard rose blush but to be fair the drinks menu was on the table with prices and I just chose not to look so that’s on me and not the pubs fault or wrongfulness Absolutely lovely pub. Very spacious but also cute and cosey. The staff were all so and friendly. Drinks came quickly. Tap water was served without having to keep asking which is decent indicator of a place overall I think. The food also arrived very promptly! The thing that really does annoy me is the automatically added service charge and the you are made to feel uncomfortable for not paying it (not the staffs fault here but it is just so awkward). For a quick pub lunch for 2 people where we just had 1 dish and 1 drink each I don’t think they should be adding 12 % to your bill. When me and my friend added how much our own drink and meal was to say to the waitress please put £x on this card and then £x on that card she did say we were short (we weren’t we just didn’t add in the OPTIONAL charge). Tipping is down to the customer and if they are treating it as a given I would rather they increase all their prices by 12 %? I don’t just don’t like being judged and made uncomfortable by not paying the right amount

So my partner and I love this place. The vibe always great, Daniella is so lovely , gave me a special glass of rose for my birthday last night, they really work hard at reinventing the dishes . The food is always great, service is friendly. It’s our go to pub ! Thanks Daniella for always welcoming us.

We booked a table for my daughter’s birthday in the patio area, when we arrived made to feel that we were being a nuisance by wanting to sit out on the patio, it appeared to have been closed off in preparation for the rugby. When we booked no one tried to make contact with us to advise us of this change. Food order taken , but the order was wrong. My daughter order the prosciutto & truffle pizza with burrata, but she got a sticky cheese pizza with prosciutto (very good job she doesn’t have a nut allergy or we would be spending her birthday in A&E as it had walnuts on) . The service was appalling , No one came to check the food was ok. Felt that we were ignored. We have used this pub on numerous occasions over the last 6 months including my mums wake following her death. And this the second time in a row that we have not been happy with the service or food. Very unhappy as it spoilt my daughter’s birthday (first one without her grandmother) so made it more difficult/emotional than it needed to be. When we got the bill , we mentioned the pizza was wrong, the waiter blamed the change of menu and the chef for the mistake and offered a free dessert - not accepted.

Perfectly cooked meal, I had the halloumi fries to start which were plentiful and chunky, great value for money with a sensational sauce (unfortunately cannot remember the name), an all out medium rare 8oz rump steak with Red Wine Sauce, surf and turf, with truffle. The steak was cooked perfectly, the surf and turf was generous, and full of flavour, however the red wine sauce was average tasting more like a gravy, but overall was lovely including the chips. The wine, to start we shared a £25 Sauvignon blanc, which was average and slightly overpriced, but with my main I had a very nice Cabernet Sauvignon which was very nice and good value for money. The service was friendly and welcoming, however there was an added 12% service charge at the end which was of course non obligatory, just slightly frustrating that this has become the trend post covid, we left the usual 10% overall a very pleasant visit and would recommend to anyone passing through to make a stop and enjoy some good food and drink.

We booked to go on Friday night as it was my husband's birthday. The service was fantastic and the food was good and reasonably fast. We were blown away by the amazing singer/ guitarist Gavin and his Guitar who is there apparently once a month. He was fantastic. We found out he is playing on the last Saturday in September so will definitely be going. Such a shame he is only there once a month as he definitely seemed to draw a good crowd.

We recently visited for a birthday celebration and found the overall experience disappointing. Firstly there was a child at the table with a very serious allergy. He ordered a burger but wanted it plain with no dressings, Mayo or coleslaw. It took 3 attempts to get a plain burger and salad with us insisting we speak to the chef but he made the waitress speak on his behalf. Clearly this wasn’t taken seriously and no apology was made.The dishes were not anything special. The prawn salad was covered in pepper and that is all you could taste. We had 2 starters 2 mains and a bottle of wine £95. Why be greedy do a set dinner menu and a set lunch menu and watch the profits roll in. We booked at 7.30pm Saturday night, asked for a good table and was shown out to the garden that had no chairs as a load of people had taken them and where hammered drunk having a great time . But why oh why would you feel it ok to try sit us with this lot? Are you running a pub for the youth to get hammered drunk or are you running a restaurant?When your prices are over charged and the greeed is sneaking in stop and think should we fleece people for everything they have or try be far and get a good clientele so people come back maybe 3 or 4 times a week for fair priced set 2 course menu? I told my wife food was ok but I won’t be wasting £95 to sit in a noisy pub again. So we will be back but it will be to share a pizza maybe. Work out if your a pub or a restaurant look after the people that pay the money for the food you don’t need the drinkers in there if you want to make money and this place will do well.

We managed to book a table here for a Sunday afternoon late lunch/early dinner. Although it was busy we were seated on the patio and asked if we wanted drinks straightaway. Myself and my husband ordered the mixed roast and the kids ordered pizzas. The food was absolutely beautiful and probably the best roast that I have had at a restaurant in quite a while. I couldn’t fault anything, the staff, service and food exceeded my expectations.We will be visiting again.

This place is easing itself back to as near normal as allowed. Service is good and the menu, although limited, is good quality. The wood fired pizza oven is a plus. Good real ales and my fish and chips were generous portions. Altogether a good experience.

The Surrey cricketers is a great pub for everyone, the food is excellent and they have an excellent choice of drinks. The stone baked pizzas are highly recommended. I've been going to this pub for years and has always had a great vibe.

We had a brilliant lunch with friends in the COVID area outside, easy to keep your distance. There are heaters to keep you warm and it’s a covered area too.I had Crispy Squid which was quiet spicy but very nice with garlic mayonnaise Others had Pate which again was very good Main course was the three meat Sunday Lunch and a Turkey Lunch all beautifully cooked. Guiness, a few glasses of wine and coffee afterwards All delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. Quick service. We will return.

Unable to comment on draught beers as unable to seethe selection due covid restrictions and not published on the drinks menu.As a driver the only non/low alcohol beer was Heinekjn 0.0 lager, no other beers such as Doombar 0 or Adnams Ghost Ship 0.5 even though both sell well in supermarkets, so assume there is a demand!Food was fresh and served in a timely manner.

My previous review was from 2017, there is a new owner of this establishment!We live locally and wanted to show our support after COVID lockdown.We visited as a family for dinner, thank goodness there were no available tables outside, we were the only people sitting inside! Sadly the garden was full of colourful, loud, brash people - just like those who took over The Brickmaker's. I can only imagine that it is all about recouping the lost income from the lockdown. The only saving grace was the food! It was of a good standard.As we left, an Uber pulled up and more loud brash people fell in the front door.Disappointing!

We visited with family looking forward to trying the pizzas cooked in the pizza oven. They were delicious! We had visited before as the kids enjoyed playing in the park but this time the park was closed. Can’t understand why as all other parks are open? There is hand sanitizer available and parents should be able to choose if they feel it is safe to use. Otherwise a lovely meal but had to leave early as kids got restless.

If you would like to sit in a garden that is packed to capacity with the majority of the clientele resembling the cast of TOWIE, then this is the pub for you. Having perused the limited menu options available and managing to not gag at the extortionate prices, I was indeed expecting a meal of such splendour that even the hanging gardens of babylon would have seemed dull in comparison, I was disappointed to recieve a very average dinner. The waitresses did as best as they could with obvious lack of training. Food was put down before cutlery, condiments were not offered and drinks not refilled. As the evening wore on the clientele ignored any attempt at social distancing and were inexplicably drawn repeatedly to the toilets, where they entered in pairs. It is worth noting here that having travelled extensively in third world countries, I would of chosen their toilet facilites above what was offered. It was however, comforting that there were bouncers available should our table of 50 year individuals feel incited to riot at the prices or the poor service. Overall a disappointing experience, in a pub that used to cater for families

Had an early evening meal, offered a table in garden. Super friendly and efficient staff. Food was great. Fish and chips too big. No room for puddings.

Firstly and most worryingly the pub appears to have attracted the same crowd that used to go to the now closed brick makers arms. Loud brash rude and I suspect drugs being shared around in the toilets. Staff did little and no one appears in charge. The garden was rammed and social distancing appeared to be ignored and not enforced by the management. The garden was like the pictures of Bournmouth beach. Hired Bouncers at the door, it’s village pub!! However they were standing around chatting. Oh yes the food, little choice and average at best. The one bright spot was the waitresses who were excellent.

The staff made the visit. Lots of attentive staff working on a busy Friday afternoon. Garden was pleasant with lots of seating which made a great atmosphere. Food was great and came Pretty quickly . The let down was paying £28 for a jug of pimms. This is by far the biggest joke of 2020 and it’s been a hard year as we all know ! 180ml of pimms and a dash of lemonade in a small jug crammed with ice and Manky fruit. Running bars abroad I thought I was conning the public at €18.00. If you come here and order a jug of pimms, Call the police Your about to get robbed !

This is the first negative review I have ever written, but I feel compelled to after a truly awful experience. This was our first time out of the house in 9 months following our son’s long illness. We were really looking forward to it. The pub was near empty, and were practically forced to sit on a table by the noisy aircon unit, bins and speakers. We gently asked to sit on one of the other tables and were met with a very bad attitude. We were told not to get comfortable, as there were bookings for the evening - despite us having our own booking!We went home and ordered a takeaway. They completely ruined our day. Disgraceful.

Pleasant garden surroundings, very good food, service a little slow. Well setup for Covid19, felt safe. Several customers not keeping social distancing when arriving, staff not attending to them for table assignment. Overall a good place for safe eating.

We booked a table for 5 people. We was wanting 15 mins for the table,20 mins for the menus, 20 mins for someone to take our order and 30 mins for a bottle of wine. The food it was amazing. We finished and we decided to have some more drinks. We order just 4 drinks and we was waiting 45 minutes for the order to come. Because of all this waiting the time was already 10.30 so the owner came and with really rude way said to us that he wants to close the garden and we need to leave from the store because is not space in for us. We had already paid 200 pounds. We left our full drinks there,because we didn't drink from really late service, but we paid for that. I will say again that the food is amazing but the rest is horrible.

We had a fabulous dinner here tonight in the garden, wonderfully tasty salad for me and my sons had the pizza and burger and my father had fish and chips. The fish in particular was so tasty with a perfect light and crispy batter. The owners could not have been more welcoming and friendly and all the staff are a pleasure to talk to. As a family we have found that the new owners have always gone out of their way to make us feel so welcome and it was a real treat to see them again for the first time since lockdown. Went here with a group of friends for a beer in the garden. Setting is okay, okay lager selection but some of the staff are so rude. The lady I can only assume is the owner needs to go back to school on hospitable welcomes as she had a face like a wet weekend and was just downright rude to customers and staff alike. The older waiter we had (I think French) was even worse. No manners at all, slammed drinks on table and then proceeded to tell off one of his younger colleagues when she very politely came to check we were all okay for drinks. In summary, I've been to better pubs...I've been to worse. But no one likes to go anywhere where you feel unwelcome and are faced with miserable staff. Think the owners and the more 'senior' floor staff need to leave the customer service to the younger staff members who were more polite and actually made people feel welcome.

Gteat place if you want teenagers and lipgloss - if you fancy a pub where they check the age - go elsewhere

There were 8 of us on a Saturday night and as one would expect the place was very busy. We had booked our table for 8pm and we had a little wait at the bar while the people at the table left. It wasn’t very long. A perfect balance between friendliness and efficiency and she certainly added to the experience of a good dinner out.The wait for the drinks was at times a little longer than It should have been. This is sometimes the case in a pub because they are also serving those who are at the bar asking for drinks and they come from the same staff.Good value food in a nice pub with good service we had a good time.

Sunday lunch at the newly refurbished Surrey Cricketers was absolutely lovely. The staff were welcoming and even made room for our small baby in car seat to sit quietly out of the way of others passing. The crab scotch egg was very tasty, followed by a good hearty roast dinner. Both beef and lamb were good, and we’d happily come back again. Great atmosphere and good service.

This was my first visit to this lovely country pub. Lovely ambience inside, well decorated, friendly staff. Popped in for Sunday lunch, as we hadn't booked and the restaurant was full, we were sat in the bar. Food was delicious, l had the Vegetable Patch mezze sharing platter and my friend had the sunday roast. Will definitely be back to try the wood fired pizza!

Food excellent and plentiful. Probably need to use smaller croutons in the caesar salad though - bit too large for me. Also, staff please note - if you spill coffee in the saucer don't give it to the customer, you should provide another one.

Amazing food, nice ambience, healthy but tasty, adapted to my requests, great friendly staff! What more could you ask for.
