What a beautiful pub 😍 looks amazing after their recent refurb. Staff were so friendly

Car park scam. Dark, hidden signage. I met friends there and none of the clocked that the car park was P&D. We all then received fines. Clearly designed to catch customers out.

I absolutely love coming to the stoke every weekend. Drinks are such a good price and service is amazing every time. Molly White was my server and was so polite and helpful. Thank you stoke!

The worst experience I have ever had in a pub took 40min to get the food out was only a barger and side of nachos the order was wrong the nachos were soggy and only he'd a source on it the stuff where so bad to the point I had to ask for a refund very disappointed.

Pub looks wonderful after refurb - fresh and bright . Loving the shuffle board tables - a great fun night out . We came on a very busy evening - unfortunately Short staffed the but staff on shift were fab - handled everything wonderfully and were very quick in serving us

This is my local pub and I love coming in here most Fridays & Saturdays. Since the refurb its got even busier and the games area seems to be a massive hit. The 3 girls working here (Kelly, Chloe & Olivia) are always so friendly and helpful. They always seem to be rushed of their feet and understaffed, however never seem to complain or stop smiling! I even try to help them collect a few glasses when the bar is super busy! As I can see the customers moaning about the waiting time to be served. Overall the pub is fantastic and the girls really are a great credit to the pub. But please get them some additional staff on a weekend as you are losing custom. And you really don't want to lose those poor girls as they are one of the reasons I enjoy going into the pub. They know my order straight away without me even asking!

Been here twice, walked out twice after waiting over 15 minutes to be served. Shame because it looks like a nice pub and the games area looks cool. Won’t be going back a third time though 👎

Good choice of food and drink. Food well presented and piping hot. Staff are very friendly and there's a good atmosphere. The Stoke has just been refurbished so everything is new and clean and the decor is great! Lovely clean toilets too! Would highly recommend.

Lovely decor following the refurbishment. Good service and nice atmosphere. Good place for a romantic night out. They have certainly increased the available outdoor seating since the refurbishment, but I couldn't spot any outdoor heaters. Very pricey, but what isn't in Guildford.

A great place to spend the evening, staff are friendly and service is great, love the games room in the corner. Great for a birthday.

Come to the Stoke regularly now and have never had an issue with waiting times, quality of food or beers. I hired the games area for my birthday, and despite it being super busy, Kelly and her team did such a great job! The darts, shufl boards and pool were great fun. Don’t get many pubs round Guildford that have darts, pool and shufl boards!

Hired out the games area for my birthday. Despite it being a more busy Saturday than usual, Kelly and her team worked so hard all night to keep waiting times down and the food and drink flowing. Darts, Shufl and pool were great fun, all my friends and family thoroughly enjoyed themselves

The worse time in my life. We went to celebrate a friend birthday and they don’t want serve any food for us, they are very rude with us. Any one arive after us and ask for food and anything else they sais yes we can do. For us just a rude words. I’m not recommend this pub. Especially if you are not a British person. This is very clear for us. Robish service. We just moved to the next door pub and they are very kind and amazing, the food was delicious. The best pub, just next door. Just go don’t stop at stoke.

Today was supposed to be a super fun day and it ended up being terrible. We tried to book at the pub and called, and they just said we could go and take advantage of the empty tables. Arriving at the place, with 11 people, the attendant said we could drink but could not serve us lunch. We ordered a drink and were served in a very bad mood. After about 40 minutes we tried to order at least fries and the waitress refused. but the other tables were being served normally. According to the attendant, our order would not be accepted as there were 11 people. ,but we could and were willing to separate people into 3 tables (because there were empty tables) , but she refused and said that our request would not be accepted. It was a huge disappointment, as we just wanted to enjoy a friend's birthday. , with drinks and food and it was not necessary for us to be at the same table. There were people arriving and sitting at tables without reservations, ordering food and being served normally. We would just like to enjoy the moment and unfortunately we were very poorly served.

I was going with my friends to celebrate my friends and they didn't allow us to order food. They said they didn't have a table for 14 people (we didn't ask for that, we could sit separately and have our meal) and said even if we sat separately they would not offer us food only drinks. But a lot of people (some with large numbers) were walking in and they were giving food to them. I think was xenophobia with us because we were not British. That's a crime! I used to go every weekend there especially now it's more things to do but I don't want to feel like am an animal and they treat me like that. Shame!

Love the new look and layout, menu is much improved and staff are friendly. However: Food took 55 minutes to arrive. We reserved rugby seats but the sound wasn’t loud enough to hear the rugby. Also it was 6 nations weekend and when we waited for the 2nd game they didn’t change the channel over even though we asked 1 min before kick off. Asked again 5 mins in and finally got it. Obviously the sound was still too low to hear despite asking about that. Idk if they plan to market as a sports pub in any way but on the general vibe and the lack of sound I’d just recommend going to the TUP instead for sports

If I could offer 1k stars I would.. Absolutely phenomenally talented and frankly gorgeous staff members 😍.. Fabulous, luscious food. And an absolutely Keen Pint of Guinness . The refurbishment is wonderful and has a real impact on the once dreary and often bleak pub. I could tell you some things about ex staff members too. But this is my glowing review of a reinvigorated pub.. You all rock...

I am updating my review due to an awful awful Christmas meal experience with work colleagues. The table wasn't set for a Christmas meal, staff unbothered, and a lot of waiting around. Food was the worst I've had in a long time, parsnips uncooked, and the wait time between courses was over an hour!!! Very poor standard of food, I am unsure how some of the reviews of the Christmas meals are so good???? It's such a shame as our local pub for work drinks etc but we won't be rushing back.

Great place to meet friends, play pool, darts and other activities, but avoid the food. All good for drinks and games.

Really nice pub, reasonably priced and good food. Looks lovely since it has been refurbished. Just wish they still did the battered halloumi and hadn't changed the nachos! Everyone always raved about the nachos!

Wow. I’ve not been here since 2016. It has changed. For the better! They’ve redone the whole pub, it’s unrecognisable! We stopped for a drink with friends between Christmas and new year. Will definitely be back!

I visited from Australia for Christmas lunch. Amazing! Staff were welcoming, cheerful and very attentive. The atmosphere was great and had a good vibe. The food was 10/10! So much we couldn’t finish it. We definitely had to have an afternoon sleep! Thanks for a memorable UK Christmas. Definitely recommend and will returning.

We went to see Santa for breakfast, but unfortunately his sleigh had broken down, nevertheless, the team were outstanding, we were provided a free breakfast, refund and one of the guys put on a Santa outfit so our youngest wasn't disappointed. Well done guys really appreciated thanks?

The refurbished Stoke is probably better than the old venue but it was just a bit underwhelming.

Went to check out the newly refurbished Stoke pub. Looked good inside, I liked the lighting, colours and decoration. Had a nice tasty meal too. Good service and menu selection, although I missed the pizzas they used to do there.

Popped in a couple of times since the refit. Staff and service is excellent. Serves a great pint of guiness

Got served by a rude woman behind the bar. A bloke set up some DJ kit and started blaring out music so loud that it hurt our ears. Asked for a spiced rum and coke, got given white rum with a bottle of coke on the side. When we asked for water we were told there was "something wrong with the tap" and got given barely a half-pint that smelled like dog breath. Fire alarm went off and the staff didn't react at all (making it seem like it was under control), then yelled at people for not leaving the garden area and even then they didn't say where the fire point was, just that we had to move away. But hey, the nachos were good.

The refurb has made the pub more sophisticated. Has a much better feel and very glad they kept the games area! They’ve also added more events in through the week! Quick service and good beer selection.

Loved the newly refurbished Stoke on Friday evening 4 of us had meals and drinks all food came out together and you couldn’t fault it, staff so friendly and helpful great choice of wine and real ales never been a pizza lover so don’t miss it, what a great pub to go to.

The Stoke is a great place, I've had breakfast there which I can say was really good. Also I've just had my birthday and the Stoke is were me, and my good friends went. We can all say we had a great time. Good pub also great atmosphere.

No longer has a pizza oven so sadly just a bang average Greene King pub. Drinks nothing to write home about but terrace would be good in summer. Sadly they've lost their USP and I dare say some of the character in the refurb. Floral wallpaper doesn't suddenly improve the place.

Food took over an hour to arrive - and when it did, order not only incorrect, but gave me food poisoning! Never again.

Incompetent staff, with an attitude to match. Staff messed up the order and bill and then argued with us. Tried to be patronising about how their till system worked. When suggested the staff needed more training to prevent the confusion next time, was answered no. In addition the food was poor quality and tasted of chemicals. Wasn’t looking for gourmet food, but this was awful.

*2nd visit November 2023* - after refurbishment we thought we'd give it another go but there was no improvement. Waited nearly an hour for food for one dish to be wrong and asked for well done meat as pregnant and it came out bloody/pink, had to ask 3 times for it to be well done! Veg was hard and uncooked. Ended up eating cold food and alone as the rest of group had finished. Was told it would be another hour for deserts so we just left. We will not visit again can't believe how bad it is here don't know how there are any good reviews the food is awful ****1st visit 2022 **** Awful. Thursday steak night but no steak? No ales? No pies, no Mac and cheese, Coffee machine broken? The list goes on! Starter arriving after finished main courses. One main came after everyone else had ate theirs. My 2nd visit to this pub. Thought I would give it another try after the recent refurbishment however just as poor as the 1st visit. 45 minutes for the food to show and we had to send a plate back 3 times as they could just not get the order right! Just ended up eating the food cold and alone as the rest of my party had finished. Won’t be visiting again unfortunately.

Great pub in Guildford. The renovation they did is awesome. Kelly and the bar staff are top notch. The food is elite for a pub and the beers are ice cold.

Run out of beer on tap. Cider out?? Food on the menu didn't have. It's possibly a bad day . Good service and very helpful. I'm sure I will visit again.

Great atmosphere, reasonably priced. The small plates are delicious. We got the tacos, sliders, and squid, all were very good. Great selection of drinks on tap. The brownie is great as well. Don’t order coffee tho, no one seems to know what an americano is and was handed a double espresso without milk or sugar. Newer staff member aren’t trained adequately but are still trying their best with what they were given.

Ben was a very good bartender, very accommodating to our needs. Let us know when there was a slight delay with drinks due to a busy night and kept us informed. Top notch food and drinks!

I used to love this place, but I've been twice recently and it was not a good experience. The first time we could only get pizza (nothing else from the menu!), while the second time there was no pizza, no burgers and no fish and chips available. We were never told there were these restrictions on the menu when phoning. Sorry but we were really disappointed.

Popped in for a roast with a few friends and oh wow what an amazing roast!! All our plates with piled high with veg and roast potatoes which were all cooked to perfection!! We will definitely be back for more!!

We liked this place. It's got a great vibe - mostly young crowd, which, coming from Sunninghill (aka more accurately known as "Sunninghill Retirment Village"), is a breath of fresh air! - great prices and surprisingly good food for the price (had steak and the burger). There were some small hiccups on what drinks were available (my wife's two favourites were not available the night we went, despite being on the menu, but these things happen, and the bar staff were apologetic and helpful, so no biggy). Parking free once you register your car on the screen inside. Dogs allowed 👍🙏. Shame it's not my local.
